I have the right services but for some reason youtube has ceased to work on my TP2. Has anyone else experienced this? If so any fixes or suggestions?
Mine is working fine. I am assuming that your worked before and now its not working. Maybe try retracing your steps?. You might have installed something that broke it.

the only thing I've installed recently is the Midomi song recognition program... Would that of caused this issue?
on mine it didn't
Thats funny, I have installed Midomi, and noticed that if I go to youtube through it, when I click the links/pictures, nothing happens, if I go direct to youtube it still works. I had been meaning to post, but you beat me to it!
Sorry to go off topic, but is that the best software to identify a song when you don't know the name? What about Shazam?
Tried uninstalling Midomi but still can't access youtube
Sorry for the bump, but i was searching the forums to see if anyone else is having troubles with youtube.
Got my unlocked tp2 yesterday. None of my videos load. I'm connected through wifi. I can see the vidoes but when i click on them to play it just stays at the "connecting" screen and eventually says "connection failed". I've tried multple videos.
I have not installed any applications, this was not working right out the box.

hmm, slightly different here - my 'out of the box' tp2 on tmobile does the youtube app fine via wifi but not through the 3g connection - just comes up with 'no videos' found when doing the initial search.
Do I need a specific data package with TMobile for it to work?

Mine doesn't work with wifi or data. I tried both. It might be the application. I'll look for another one and let you know.
Is there a way to uninstall this one?
I have been having the exact problem with my AT&T Tilt 2. The pictures of the videos in the Youtube App show up fine, then when I try to play one it keeps saying 'Connecting...' then eventually after a minute or two throws up an error message that says that the 'Connection failed. Please try again.'. Has anyone else experienced this and/or fixed this.
My Telstra T7381 used to work just fine with YouTube videos on 3G, now it only shows "Connecting....." then stalls out after about 4-5 minutes with "Connection failed. Please try again." It was working on stock Telstra ROM, now not working with the Energy ROM in my sig. This only happens using 3G, not WiFi - with WiFi, videos load perfectly.
I tried watching very short videos, under 10 seconds or so, and they connect and play, so that would mean it has an issue with the video file and not an actual connection, right? I just loaded a 42 second video in NO time once it connected.... it showed "Connecting...." for a few seconds, then 0% then 92%, and the video started playing! Unfortunately, that doesn't solve the issue I have with videos that are 2:30, 4:10, etc - they just won't connect using 3G!
EDIT - here's a link that should help some people out on AT&T. THIS WORKS, follow the steps and get YouTube working again!!!

It's becuase the app doesn't know which connection to use for "The Internet" go to the connections tab and rename your ISP to "The Internet" that should do the trick.

I've been having problems signing in to Google Talk for a while now. It says "Could not connect to server. Will retry shortly" and never connects. It used to work, but for the past couple of weeks I've been having nothing but issues. I have tried reflashing my ROM, and have tried other ROMs and still have the issue.
My market is also pretty much broken, I can't download anything. It just gets hung up on starting download. I know these two problems are related so I'm hoping that if I get to the bottom of my GTalk issue then my market will work again.
Does anybody have any idea what I can do to get this working again?
In case it matters, I am running Fresh 3.2.0.0.
I had this too. I've been turning 3g off (and getting insane battery life, btw), but my google talk takes forever to reconnect. Market is also hanging at downloading.
After leaving my data on for awhile, everything is ok.
I'm also on Fresh 3.2.
Yeah I left my data on all day today and it's still not working :/
I saw these symptoms when my WiFi was enabled. It turned out that GTalk couldn't connect to its servers through my firewall. In my case, it was because the necessary outbound TCP and UDP ports where closed. I found that GTalk needs several outbound ports open to work properly.
In your firewall configuration you may need to:
* Enable UDP connections to anywhere on any port.
* Enable TCP connections to anywhere on port 5222.
* Enable TCP connections to anywhere on port 443.
After I made these changes, I was able to successfully sign into GTalk and download from the market.

I just got a new EVO and am running the commercial rom for a week or so just to see how fast it is out of the box for a while.
Anyways, I have been having a ton of issues with Gtalk doing the same thing, it never signs in via wifi and even then when I disable wifi and just use 3g it hangs and gives the message you mentioned. Sometimes it logs in, it causes problems with market and chrome to phone (c2p) too. Power cycling the 3g radio is not helping.
I got to the root of my problem a few weeks ago. What I found was that if I sign out and then back in to Talk on my PC, it starts working right away on my phone and then the market comes back up. It's a workaround but it does work for me EVERY time.
Same problems here.. I constantly have connection issues. Both through WiFi and 3g
I'm having problems with this too. Any permanent solutions?
I believe its on Google's part.
it is 3g network problem, try with wifi or after airplane mod and has to sign in

Has anyone else had trouble accessing Google Talk over 3G? If I don't use WiFi, it constantly tells me "unable to access server." If I do turn on WiFi, and then shut it off, GTalk shows everything grayed out. If I don't sign in to GTalk, I can't use the market. What's going on here? I was able to use GTalk on 3G *once* today. Not anymore.
My googletalk hasn't been able to sign in for the past 2 days.
It will randomly not be able to connect but then later connect for a few minutes and sign out.
I'm connected to wifi and its working now however.
posted from a EPIC4G.
Just had this problem on my girlfriend's Epic. It has to do with the Market, they're linked to your account and you can't have on without the other (from experience). I tried rebooting, clearing market and gtalk cache and the new update that came out a few days ago but nothing seemed to work. I finally did a factory reset and everything worked like it should.

It's just plain stupid that this is necessary. Android is starting to really grate on my nerves lately.
Hmmm, my GTalk works when on wifi or 3G. Now when I change connections from one to the other it takes some time to reconnect sometimes. That I do notice.
Forgive My Brevity. To Be Or Not To Be...
I had to hard-reset the damn thing. Adding Google accounts was giving me the stupid "Could not establish a reliable connection to the server" bullcrap. Of course, everything works *wonderfully* now (minus GPS, of course), and the phone is nice and fast again. What is this, Windows Mobile?!
Edit: GAH! It's happening again! "Could not connect to server. Will retry shortly" when on 3G! WTF, Google. I just wasted 2 hours reinstalling apps after a hard reset just to get this crap all over again.
So is this for sure a problem on googles side?? Cuz only few people seem to confirm this issue. I'm still within my 30 days, so I can exchange my phone if its a specific phone related problem..
I don't know. Some rocket surgeon over at Google decided that it was best to allow multiple Google accounts on the phone and sync everything, but not let you change Gtalk accounts. Their response to the bug? They try to throw the Gtalk team under the bus and close the bug report.
Okay, and now it's working again. I moved around to another Sprint tower and everything worked again. This actually happened yesterday. Now I'm back to my original location where the bug showed itself the first time, and things still seem to be working. I'm going to avoid reboots for now...
I am having the same problem

I am also having the same problem with my Galaxy S2. Has anyone resolve this without resetting it to factory setting?
Running two Incredible 2's. One stock ROM, one VU2.3.9.
Netflix app loads fine on both. Stock phone streams just fine. VU phone get the following error message when you go to play:
"Sorry we could not reach the Netflix service. Please try again later. If the problems persist please visit the Netflix website (11000)."
I've reloaded, but not help. Side by side, one works the other does not. Is this due to my ROM or something else?
I just re-installed an old VU ROm copy and it now seems to work on that. I'd still like to troubleshoot what was wrong before. Install and re-install the app had no effect.
Never had that problem on VU myself.
I sometimes get errors on Netflix, but I think it's an issue on their end, not the phone.
Runs fine for me on 2.39.
I had it randomly crap out on me on MIUI for about 2 days, then it was back to normal- I agree, it might be an issue on their end.
the only problem with netflix on my VU 2.3.9 is that I can't get it to work on wifi, netflix would automatically signed me off and display an error about my device has been removed from netflix, but it work just fine when i turned on the 3G and leave wifi off.
I can't get Netflix to fully open when using it via mobile network.
Over WiFi it's fine. But when i try to open it on mobile network it starts with the red Netflix screen, and then gets to the grey/white screen & nothing else happens!? the menu never appears..
I tried opening it using WiFi at home & then turning off WiFi & using mobile and it's fine... but if i'm out and try opening first on mobile network.. stuck on grey white screen!!
Anyone else have this problem??
Does u`r provider allow it??
I assume it does, because like i say, i can start the app over WiFi, then disable WiFi & carry on using it via mobile network.
Unfortunately i can't start it on WiFi when i'm at work!
I tried it again at work yesterday & i got to signing in.. but then it said "can't connect to netflix at this time try later"
Still can't get it working over 3G!!
Also iPlayer wont work.. just get the spinning 'loading' when i choose a video!
Youtube works fine & plays HQ no problem. TvCatchup works fine. That ioslivetv.com DID work fine, before it got shut down
It's not a problem with the speed...
I'm worried now that 'if' Sky go gets sorted for the One X it won't work properly (at all) for me! It worked fine on my Desire over 3G at work.. so i'll have to wait and see i 'spose
Works fine for me. I'd search to see if others using your carrier are having the same issue, even on different phones.
Running tommytomatoes classic rom
Everything has gone great for some time now until last week when I tried to watch a youtube video with no luck
The same thing happened when I tried to watch a video ANYWHERE
It says "Cannot play video unable to connect to server"
Any ideas? Other than the obvious...
My friends with unrooted and rooted phones are doing just fine...mine however is not.
Is this happening over WiFI , 3G , or 4G ? Is Data connection working correctly on other programs ?
Try uninstalling youtube, clearing cache and delvik and then reinstall it through the playstore,so its the most recent version, see if that works for you,the apk you have installed now could be corrupted.

Data connection works fine
It's not only YouTube though. It's any streaming video.
You sure you didn't change any settings? I've heard that zeroing out the proxy settings to try and speed up data can sometimes have this side effect.

Not unless it was totally by accident because I honestly have no clue what that even is...
