Hi Gues,
could that work, to run a qteck 9090 as WeatherStation Interface between Internet (over internal SIM) and a WeatherStation ?
wview project? oder WeatherDisplay?
Is the USB Interface Docking able to provide Interface for other resources than an PC?
regards
Oliver
starting with the usb: no.
the blueangel has no chance of being a usb host, it is a client like a flash drive or an external hard disk, which means, since there can be no client-client connections there, you cannot attach any other hardware to the blueangel for it to use.
i don't know exactly what you have in mind there, since the first sentence is hard to understand, but you can use the BA as a remote client to connect to a host system over wireless communications like gprs, wlan or bluetooth, and control or oversee the host and manage it.
if, on the other hand, you were planning to use the BA as a "thin client" to connect a weatherstation directly to, to send you the relevant data, it would probably not work, because of the usb host issue.

Hi,
I recently got an xda IIs, I have managed to connect to my broadband connection via my cradle - however I am now trying to set up a wlan connection to transfer my files over as I left my cradle and charger at my other house, doh!!!
I can get a connection however - for the life of me - I don't know how to transfer files!!?!?!! Now that I have a connection - should my pocket pc not show up in My Network Places? I cant find it anywhere. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
I also have a second question, I am aware that the onboard memory is volatile - but can someone clarify if the storage memory on the phone (not sd card) is non-volatile or not.
Many thanks,
LCMGxs
Hi
Windows Mobile does not have a network client built in. From what I can gather, it does support SMB, but has no front end. Suggest you get a copy of pocketlan which is a front end.

Other than that you'll have to use activesync (this will work over wifi once you have used it once over USB).
Nigel
cheers mate.
Hi all
With resco explorer you can map a networtk drive and and the transfer files as normal..

Hi All!
I have made a cable to connect the MDA III to my Royaltek RGM 2000 GPS device.
It works great but I don't understand one thing:
The documentation on this site says that MDAIII has rs232 interface (+-12V),
the documenation of the RGM 2000 says it only drives a TTL serial port.
I connected both device directly without a MAXIM IC.
How can that work?
Now I try to connect the GPS device to my PC over a MAXIM TTL to RS232 converter and I get only trash on my PC terminal.
Should I also connect the GPS device directly to serial port of my PC?
Please help!
I don't want the crash my GPS device!
Hi all,
This forum being the greatest about HTC, I think you guys will have the answer :
I would like to use my TyTN to connect to the console of a router (using serial connection) :
1. Does anyone know where I could find a miniUSB-DB9 adapter ?
2. Will there be a driver for serial port, or is it natively managed with COM ?
Such cables exist but for PC, but not miniUSB and with a Windows driver, no info about the same thing for PocketPC.
Anyone knows ?
Thanks

DELETED Message where I thought I found it..
Understood the problem..
Hi all,
AFAI understood I cannot find a solution due to the lack of USB Host support in the TyTN. I still wonder if the port can be used in direct low level serial mode as you see in bootloader. Could WinMobile use it ?
Another way would be to have a device that would be usb host, putting the phone into slave mode, but maybe I dream...
Thanks for any reply..
there is a bluetooth to serial adaptor which has been reported to work with the tytn.
COM1
Hi,
After much googleing there's still hope. Windows Mobile presents a COM port : 'COM1 via cable' and in the specs of the TyTN there is RS232 communication.
I still cannot figure out if the miniUSB connector pins could be simply mapped to the corresponding RS232 signals. Probably not
Anyway I flashed the XDA-Live wm6 ROM and it's great ! the battery seem to last longer (still 70% after 2 days!)
Thanks to the xda-dev community
Hi,
is it possible to use my MDA III, which is connected to pc over usb, as a bluetooth adapter in order to connect other devices to my computer?
Thanks in advance,
Paschulke507
Everything depends, what do you expect from this "combination". If you need full support for all BT features (direct access to BT stack like on the PC) - you can forget it. Just buy a chepest dongle for ~$10.
I actually want to do stuff like connecting a mobile phone to my computer and transferring small java games. Wouldn't such a combination over BA be enough to fulfill this purpose? I don't expect a fast connection or covering big distances.
You cannot do it directly.
Pair the phone with the BA, send the files to your BA and then beam the files to the phone. If it can accept beamed files, it should work (Nokias might refuse to start juch apps).
But the original cable for the phone is much better choice.
Ok, I'll try it this way. Thanks for your answers.
I have a programe on my laptop that needs a GPS signal. Is there a programe for my HTC P3300, or a way, so I can use my HTC built in GPS via a USB cable to my laptop, as a external GPS.....
I use Franson's GPSgate to use my artemis gps signal on my laptop, albeit over bluetooth rather than USB
Gpsgate
Even I use Franson's GPSgate to use my Artemis as external GPS with my laptop over bluetooth. Works flawlessly.
First off all; thanks for your reply’s!
I found out yesterday in some old thread's to use GPS2Blue, and it's all for free:
Step1:
http://users.skynet.be/hofinger/GPS2Blue.html
Step2:
Microsoft .Net Compact Framework 2 must be installed (note: Microsoft releases .NET Compact Framework 2.0 Service Pack 2 which can be easily installed on storage card...):
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/...2F-07B5-4A8C-8A44-B4E1B196D5C0&displaylang=en
Step3:
www.HW-group.com, to create, on your PC, virtual COM ports from TCP/IP Because I don't have bluetooth yet...
http://www.hw-group.com/products/hw_vsp/index_en.html
Step4:
How to use with TCP/IP over USB?
1.On the PC, install HW VSP (version 3.0.23 or newer). Choose the standalone application installation.
2.Connect the PDA to the PC with an USB cable.
3.On the PC, run HW VSP.
-In Settings tab: check "TCP Server Mode" and,
to avoid unwanted traffic, uncheck "NVT Enabled".
-In Virtual Serial Port tab: set the Port Name (the port
to be created on the PC, it must be a free COM port not already
used on the PC; for example COM9). Set IP Address to
0.0.0.0 and Port to 31873.
Note: to accept only data from the PDA, instead of 0.0.0.0
you can put the IP address of the PDA obtained with the "What's my
IP" menu item of GPS2Blue.
-Click on Create Com.
4.On the PDA, run GPS2Blue.
-Set the GPS COM port (it's the COM port that Windows Mobile
uses for GPS communication. It depends of your PDA model). You can
choose the GID port if available.
-Set the communication Speed of the GPS COM port (depends of
your PDA model, usually 4800). I use 38400. Don't ask me
whey, but it works great!
-Check TCP/IP box (and uncheck BT box).
-Click the On button.
Note: if everything is OK, Bytes: xxx will increase in GPS2Blue and Rx Counter will increase in HW VSP.
5.On the PC, run your GPS software.
-Set the COM port to the once created by HP VSP (COM9 in our example).
-Set the speed to the once set in GPS2Blue (4800 in our example).
-Start the connection.
I'm a pilot, and I tested everything yesterday in the aircraft on PocketFMS (http://www.pocketfms.com/), flying from Copenhagen to Aberdeen, AND IT WORKS FANTASIC ON MY LAPTOP USING MY HTC P3300 AS A EXTERNAL GPS RECEIVER!!!!!!
And because the HTC is attached via the USB to the laptop, it uses the battery of the laptop as an external power!!!.
HAVE FUN!
Great solution ! I have tested it with Mobile Navigator 5 at my PC
A little problem , Software(Mobile Navigator) wouldn't detect Virtual COM , i have to change COM port settings in INI file
Artemis + GPS2Blue = 1 great BT GPS receiver
I also installed GPS2Blue on my Artemis, paired my Artemis with its old big brother XDA II (my old trusty Himalaya) and now my XDA II has a new lease on life as an excellent PND.
The Artemis feeds it GPS signals to XDA II via GPS2Blue using Serial Port Profile, and iGo8 on XDA II autodetects an external GPS receiver... and voila ! kick-ass portable navigation device...and the kicker is...I got my Artemis for 31 bucks plus inflated shipping (on eBay-fleabay, of course)

Hi, could you please post a rough guide on how to do this? I'm burning my brain cells trying to get GPS2Blue to work, but I'm having no luck whatsoever... (HTC Polaris, not the Artemis...)
Thanks in advance!
