In HD Tweak, I set Volume Control\Acoustic settings to anything above the 100db limited (Default) - and audio gets boosted accordingly, but the microphone doesn't work and I'm unable to talk to anyone.. anybody have the same issue or any workaround?
I just want to boost the audio levels of the device overall. Btw, I also tried the audio booster within HDtweak and it doesn't seem to do anything. I also tried the audio boost cabs in the HDtweak site and no change.
I applied this tweak also and same thing. It even screwed up my bluetooth headset and i couldn't hear anything. When switching to speaker you only heard slight static. Only time i could hear the caller was the internal speaker but caller couldn't hear me. Had to go back to default for it function normally again. Not sure of any work around yet.
Hmm...I changed mine to "Normal" and had no problems with mic.
Guess I'll have to test further.
Did you happen to apply any other changes prior to HDtweak (such as: SRS WOW, or applying the AudioPara3.csv file floating around)? These may be conflicting with the change.
Nope, I didn't have anything else running or installed. Tried it on both mine and my fiance's TP2, with the same results.
Right now I'm using that tweaked AudioPara3.csv, but I can't really tell a difference if there's a difference, maybe a slight volume increase.

Not 100% sure of what you've done, but suggest you revert everything back to stock (HDtweak all audio related changes to default settings, remove 'audio boost cabs' and the AudioPara3.csv file), and soft-reset.
Test that mic is working properly, then try HDtweak -> only the acoustic settings to "Normal".
Soft-reset and check for mic functionality.
Sorry about that.
I meant previously that I had reset all settings back to stock, and was just running the AudioPara3.csv tweak (which didn't seem to do much or anything at all).
I reverted back to stock again now, and am just running HD Tweak\Acoustic Settings\Normal. I tested the mic with a call and it does indeed work.
I can't really tell if the volume is louder though, I think it is, but it's just hard to compare. I had set it to Maximal before and could definitely tell a huge difference, so I guess that's what I'm aiming for, or at least intermediate, but for now the Normal setting will have to do. Thanks sir.
I have installed & run HDtweak on my TP2. I hear no noticeable audio level increase. I have set all volume tweaks to max. Is a reset needed to "apply" the tweaks?
I have downloaded and tried the audiopara3 full & light boost and it made my device to where I couldn't hear the other caller at all. But it did make the ringtone louder.
I un-installed and know its back to normal.
I am having the same problem with HD tweak.
The mic goes off each time i increase the volume in HD tweak.
Still waiting for a solution and searching daily for a descent tweak, (Pro2 tweak maybe)?
Sorry to bump this old thread, but I was wondering if this HDTweak problem was ever solved?
The only way I can get my unbranded TP2's music players (WMP, Audiomanager, Coreplayer and Pocket Player) working at a comparable volume to my iPod Touch is by using HDTweak's volume tweaks, but I can't hear anything when making calls through my handset or speakerphone.
I've already tried multiple extusb adaptors and various headphones, and the sound is still considerably more muffled and not as loud as my iPod Touch.
I'd appreciate any help on this. Thanks!

Hi All
Perhaps a dopey question, but...
My TP2 has an odd habit of changing the system volume by itself. I set it to 100% and some time later, i find it changed to 40%. I thought it might be an app (MP3 player or something) tethered to the sys volume, but no - it seems to be a quirk.
I do find that sometimes i just can't toggle the volume for the earpiece quite loud enough on some calls using the side volume rocker - for all else on this standard ROM it is just fine.
So, i wondered f there was a reg tweak to slightly increase just the earpiece volume?
Obviously it would still be relieant on the sys vol, but could be a little louder?
Anyone heard of something specifically for the TP2?
Cheers to all
Jabberoo
Has anyone come up with a working solution for the low speaker volume during phone calls on the Touch Pro2? Tried the Audiopara tweak, and lost ALL volume on the speaker, Tried changing settings with "HD Tweak", no effect. FWIW, my ringer volume is fine.
Seems like some folks get results, some don't. My hearing is lousy to start with, so I really need to find a working fix, or ditch the phone.
Use this cab and then reboot
It worked great for me

Makes the button beeps louder, but completely eliminates all phonecall audio!
Not only that, but deleting the cab didn't restore what little audio I had. Had to do a hard reset!!!

Strange, I have it working great and imrpoved the volume a lot!
Perhaps is something related with your ROM
If uninstall not helped, which is strange also, then soft reset and if not hard reset will be the option...
Sorry to hear did not worked for you
I feel your pain, brother! I have 3 of these phones, and am about to give up and sell them because of this stupid problem. What really gets me is that I have seen this same very common complaint (low earpiece volume) with other HTC phones as well. I know of several that have been returned. Don't they pay attention to customer feedback? "Full volume" should be painfully loud, not barely audible. Such a shame to have this be the "deal breaker" for an otherwise great phone.
Some might say to try the SRS WOW HD program, don't do it. It causes lockups and the units don't come out of power down states.
Bump. Bump.

All three have the same issue? Cdma or gsm? My verizon tp2 has very adequate volume and I usually have to have it turned down a notch or two or it is painful to my ear. Same when using the loud speaker. I thought I saw a volume fix cab floating around, might be for specific cdma roms, not sure. I'm wondering if it is more of a gsm v. issue. I agree I have seen this with many diff htc phones, but I can also say I've seen/heard of it with nokia and also other makes. Sorry I have no help, just the comment.
Ringtone Gets Loud In The End
My Ringtone Is Low In The Beginning But At The End Of The Ringer Its A Real Loud Increase In The Sound. I Tryed The Rhodium Audio Parameters And The AudioPara3. Should I Try AudioPara4???? Im on Radio 4.49.25.17 And Under Software Info It Says...
OS Version: 5.2.21854
Manila Version: 2.1.19202517.0
Rom Version: The Cell Pro Series WWE
Rom Date: 9/25/09
I Need Help With Making My Ringers LOUD!!!!!! LOL and im on 6.5

I have too LOUD in-call volume from the phone.
Using the built-in volume rocker does NOTHING to the in-call voice volume.
The volume is so excruciatingly painful that I can keep my wired HTC hf set 10cm from my ears and still listen perfectly to the conversation.
Not very practical though.
Is there ANY working solution that makes the Volume controller actually control in-call voice volume during phone calls?
I'm running stock 6.5 ROM with no hacks and no audio related software installed.
Bump
Still hoping for an answer.
I don't know if I'm alone in this, but the headset volume for music on my EVO is really quiet-- I'd say it's probably 2/3rds of the max volume my ipod touch was capable of.
It seems that there are now several kernels out there that implement Toast's "Audio Boost" changes, which from what I gather came from Geniusdog, who got them from Pershoot in the Nexus One forums.
However, from the thread in which the changes were first introducted in the Nexus forums (and this post in particular) it seems the changes to the MAX_GAIN settings in q6audio.c apply on to IN-CALL volume on the speaker or headset.
After having tried a kernel with the Audio Boost hack, it seems that IN-CALL volume is higher, but there is no discernable volume gain for normal music or non-phone features, which seems to confirm what was stated in the tread above.
Are there any changes that can be made to the kernel to boost headset audio while not in a call? Or has anyone with one of the AUdio Boost kernels noticed higher headset volume outside of calls?
I'm really interested in this as well. I'm using OMJ 3.1 which has kinkclick's kernel #6 I believe. I got all happy about the supposed ability to raise the volume on the phone but haven't found a way to do so...and if the audio gain was implemented on the rom itself already then I don't notice the difference...
Swyped from an HTC Evo on MetroPCS...

Yeah, like I said... I belive the only thing the audio boost in these kernels does is boost IN-CALL volume. I haven't seen anything definative yet, outside of what was posted in the Nexus One forum and my own observations.
Have you tried using headphones for a call and compare the max volume there versus music? I used the Rick Astley prank phone number, and found that being Rick Roll'd over the phone provided much more volume than the same (or any other) audio file on my phone....
Anyone? Can anyone with one of the various Audio Boost kernels (such as those based off of Toast's, or KingKlick's) confirm if they've noticed any boost in volume outside of phone calls?
Is there a way to increase in-call volume past the default maximum? I tried disabling voice privacy, using Volume+ and manually editing build.prop, all to no avail. I'm running the VZW (LTE) Galaxy Nexus.
Thanks!
Wait on Samsung to use decent speakers in the GNEXII?
I agree it's annoying. The speakers (earpiece and external speaker) are junk. Shocked that they actually sourced such crappy hardware for a "flagship" phone.

I think my phone is defective. I can't change the IN CALL volume while on a call. Using the volume rocker, you see it move up and down on the screen but the volume stays the same.
I have the same problem
I'm really frustrated. The in-call volume on my phone is so quiet, I can barely use it unless I'm in a quiet environment. I have installed volume+, which works great to boost sound level of rings, noises, and music playing from the speaker. But the Volume+ settings for bluetooth and in-call do nothing.
It's funny... when I'm on the bluetooth speaker phone for my car and call someone, it's loud for the first ring, and then much quieter from the second ring onward.
If someone could help fix this problem, I would be extremely grateful.
Thanks,
Kevin
I'm still on stock... so that might be my problem. I have a Motorola Oasis BT and love it, but when I hit the button for voice dialer, it's always at half volume. It resets back to that EVERY TIME! I hate that it can't confirm what it thinks I said. I've dialed so many wrong people... UGH! This has to be a Google issue. I only wish CD+ worked with 4.0. The programmer told me there is no way it will ever be updated to work.
The sound volume through the BT is nothing like my EVO. Even my loud talkers I can barely hear now even on the highest settings.
I want to root the device and hope something comes out to fix it. I drive a truck and need to hear without having to pull off the road.
Hi,
Running ICS on my rooted my Galaxy S2 Phone successfully and was wondering if there's a value setting I could increase my Earpiece volume, nothing too extreme as I don't want to damage my earpiece, but just a slight increase would be great.
And yes I have tried volume up..
The reason is, I work in a busy environment and have tried Bluetooth devices, but rather prefer a earpiece volume increase..
Also what can I find the Jpeg Compression setting, I have looked in Root/System/ build.prop with my Root Explorer, but can't seem to see any Jpeg settings?
Thanks...

Program voodoo control will set your volume up.
Drivespinners,
It won't let me download it from Google Play, it says my SGS2 is incompatible with this app..
I'm running the ICS on my rooted SGS2..
Unless I can download it from somewhere else, then I could install it via the SD Card..
It sounds (excuse the pun) just what I'm after with a Sound boost and Mic
If I can't get this, any suggestions on a modify setting in my rooted phone..
I've looked in the build.prop, but can't see any audio settings?
Thanks..
On gingerbread, I used to use dialpad code *#*#197328640#*#* to access the audio menu and manually changed the sound.
Now, on ICS, the code doesn't seem to let me modify any audio settings
