Hello
I have installed and uninstalled pieplus2
Since then Internet explorer does not autodial GPRS connection when no active sync or wifi connection is present
Opera and netfront do autodial, so this is not a connection problem.
But with IE, i have to manually open the connection from comm manager
I think pieplus ( or maybe an other program i have installed) has changed the registry value that allows IE to autodial
I have inserted some dword DoAutodialup=1 registry entries, (i show this from netfront) in various IE registry folders, with no success.
Does anyone know what and where this registry value is and how to restore IE to auto dial a gprs connection?
Thank in advance

Hi, i have a friend who's BA can pick up WIFI. The messenger works fine but when he tried to get a page up, it says page cannot be found. Any ideas?
Check the proxy settings.
MSN Messenger connects using the default gateway or SOCKS4/5 proxy while Internet Explorer uses a the HTTP proxy settings first, if specified.
hi all
i have a xda orbit, aka htc artemis. my service provider, after much delay, helped me to set up the internet settings for my device. now the problem is, they have made me change the port numbers from 80 to 9401 and have set up a connection in "work" settings, whenever i try to download emails from my yahoo account, which supports pop3, it says error in synch and to check my net connection. the same works fine if i connect my device to the pc with internet connection. similar thing happens with most of other apps which use internet
can someone help me on how to change the proxy settings on other apps or how to make other apps use the same connections settings please.
thanks
Just installed Sygate firewall and now I can't synch. It synchs fine if I disable sygate. I get connected but not actually synching, the icon either keeps spinning or doesnt do anything. Sometimes the synch button is pressable but nothing happens. Never had a problem synching with comodo firewall before I uninstalled that. Others who had this problem fixed their phone registry like this:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Drivers\USB\FunctionDrivers\RND IS]
Name of value to add: MTU
Type: DWORD
Data: 1514 (decimal)
Reg Sub Key: [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Drivers\USB\FunctionDrivers\RND IS]
Name of Value to add: MaxOutTransfer
Type: DWORD
Data: 1642 (decimal)
Can I do this for the MDA Compact 3 and what phone reg editor to use?
I tried the microsoft fix by adding advanced rules to sygate, but that didn't work.
Ok obviously noone here has a clue. Is there a better sub forum to post this?
About once a week, my phone will have the proxy on MediaNet set to my work computer's network proxy.
This only affects Google Maps' ability to see traffic but I use that function a LOT.
For some reason, I am unable to change it in connections because it says MediaNet is pre-configured and doesn't let me change it there. To fix it, I have to delete the content of the proxy server in a couple places in the registry but that is a pain in the butt.
1. Does anyone know how to prevent either of my sync'd computers from changing the proxy server on my phone?
2. Does anyone know how I can access Media Net's settings through "Connections" and not through the registry?
I have Tilt 2 on At&T and have two questions:
1. My Opera default browser works without any problem when I am on 3G but it does NOT work at all when I turn my wi-fi. Note that it is a problem with Opera only as other browsers such as IE and Skyfire work flawlessly.
2. There are two icons in the tools forlder Enable/Disable Proxy. Would appreciate if someone would explain what they are for and how/why should I use them.
Thanks in advance.
Anyone, please help!!!
1. Check the proxy on Opera, its most likely the problem.
Type "opera:config" (no quotes) into the address bar on Opera and enter. From the configuration menu, select "proxy" from the menu. Clear the first entry "Automatic Proxy Configuration URL" if anything is there. None of the checkboxes should be checked (clear them if any are checked). Mine says "wireless.cingular.com:80" for FTP, HTTP, HTTPS server . . . which should be fine. Exit Opera (don't just close) and restart it. You might need to soft reset to make the changes work (can't hurt).
2. You mean there are no icons in the "Proxy Manager" folder? There should be two icons "Disable Proxy" and Restore Proxy". These are CABs which run when you select them. "Disable Proxy" is what you want, as the proxy interfered with WiFi, and you only need to proxy to access some ATT specific websites.
If the CABs are not visible, something really funky is going on.
In any case, I don't think the CABs help for Opera, you have to modify the settings manually, like I described above.
