NEED T32 X999 COMPLETE BACKUP made with RESCO or Sprite backup to try to recover my T32.
My T32 don't give me access to Program shortcuts, so that I can only open programs from windows or mem. card using explorer.
I Would need a complete rom backup made by any known backup tool of same model device to try to install sort this issue.

is there a way to back up just my contacts?
I want to hard reset my device and remove most of the crap that I had installed. then restore my contacts. I haven't found an option in SPB backup to do this. is there a file somewhere that I can save to my pc before doing the hard reset?

Use Pim Backup or copy pim.vol to your pc and when your done copy it back to your device.

First copy it from your pc to your storagecard and from the storagecard copy it to the main memory of your MDA.
But maybe it's best to use PIM backup.
I have been using Spb Backup ever since it came out and find it better than other backup solutions such as those from Sprite.

It has no network backup ability. If you have 80% of your SD card full it's very useful.

Rename the original pim.vol to say pim.vo and then paste old pim.vol and then it will work.
Use total commander or gsfinder to do this - it will not work with file explorer.

Yes - Sprite Backup. It installs backup agent on PC and then you can make full backup over WiFi. I was making 1GB backups over WiFi for testing and it worked good. You have Sprite Backup on CD shipped with unbranded HTC P3300 (Artemis).
I don't know other pocket pc backup programs with this ability - let me know if you do.

I had a different problem. After restoration I found only few SMS messages! Luckily, the contacts were all there.
p.s. Check your backup settings before execution; also check the size of the backup file to get an indication if it contains anything.

Try to recover SMS only - that should put all of your SMS back - PIM Backup author said that in his thread.

This is indeed a bug, that has been fixed, but not yet released. Fortunately, there is a workaround for this problem with the actual version of pim backup.
The only thing to do during the restore of messages, is selecting only one account and do the restore.
So, for instance, if you want to restore your SMS, just select Text messages account and no other one and do the restore. If nothing is restored on the device it means that the account doesn't exist and should be created first.

Are you using the same version of PimBackup...? I have had this problem only when using a different release... drove me nuts for about a week... I used v2.2 (I think) and then used v2.5 to restore and this is what I faced... used the earlier release and everything was fine.. Then used v2.5 to create a new backup and haven't had any probs since...

If you encrypted the card and THEN flashed a new ROM you can not decrypt the file (because encryption keys are stored in main memory and get overwritten/deleted by the flash - and you should not be able to decrypt any other data on the card rendering them effectively lost). If you encrypted the card after flash you can try to decrypt it in the settings. If you sync your device with outlook you can get your contacts back. Otherwise there is nothing else on my mind. Sorry.

Brute force attack. Fast computer and tons of time (weeks to years depending on the passwork/key lenght). Do you have older backup, or backup on the desktop PC, or did you synchronize it with desktop outlook - that can get at least a part of your data back.

I also have an encryption dilema.... my encrytped files can still be read by copying the files via active sync on to a desptop PC... if the device gets lost anyone can have access to the data on the storage card!...is this normal or my device isnt working?

Hi all, Did anyone try to restore the diamond with Spb backup 2.0 with the "rom upgrade" function? I've update my diamond from hTC_Asia_HK_WWE_1.34.831.1_52.24.25.08_0.93.25_Ship to hTC_Asia_WWE_1.37.707.1_Radio_Signed_Diamond_52.26a.25.09_1.00.25.03_Ship
But after I restore with spb, it's success but when I check the rom version in setting, everythings is upgrade but only the rom version is still 1.34.831.1, but the cht is change to wwe.
Did I just ignore it (coz I'm sure I'm successful upgrade b4 I restore the backup file)? Or my backup file restore everything??
Pls help I'm really no ideas..... Thank you so much!

You should not restore all the system data from your backup files as it will "overwrite" the system files in your upgraded rom and that is what it is happening and shows in your device info. You should only restore your PIM data, i.e. contacts, emails, messages, appts after an upgrade. You are lucky that the device is not corrupted and functioning OK.
To resolve this, do a hard reset to get back to your upgraded rom 1.37.7.0.1 (yes, it is still lying there in your device) and this time do a PIM restore only and everything will be fine! Cheers
Thanks and I know that..... just want to be lazy to to one step to restore all information and program, although I've choose the "rom upgrade" to restore, but still cannot make it. Only retore all the pim information and have to install all back about the program....

Well, I've tried SPB Backup 2.0 ROM upgrade mode a few times (approx 4 times). I had no issues with that and I did not loose any information. Although I haven't checked version information like you. I've always forced ROM upgrade mode in options.
I can say that for quick testing new ROMs this method is a big help. But based on the advices of the experts you should build up your new environment from scratch if you decided which ROM to live along with. Cheers.
yes~ did run normally if restore with rom upgrade mode! but seems it's restore all back from the old file coz the rom details didn't change..... after hard reset then show back the new rom version. I guess it just restore all back from old rom I guess....
i've settled on using spb backup 2 for the PIM info (also restores photo contacts to TF3D), and Sashimi for programs/preferences... works pretty well and fast

SPB Backup, Sprite Backup, Resco Backup, all match ur requirement. Google those name...
