Voice Command? - Touch Pro2, Tilt 2 Windows Mobile General

Does Microsoft Voice Command work OK on the HTC TP2 please? If so, is it only available as a commercial offering (from sources like Handango) rather than a free option from MS?

Sort of! You can't trigger the prompt from a Bluetooth device, you have to press and hold the send key. There are problems with the incoming call announcement, there are already threads on this issue and I don't use it so can't help!
Yes it's paid for software and worth every penny in my view, although I'm sure you could find illegal copies if you looked in the places most people look for such things
Gordon

Thanks Gordon, appreciate the helpful response.

TrueFax included with MDAIII ?

Just been looking through the manual of my MDA III and it mentions the use of TrueFax (Pages 131 to 134), great I thought, that will come in handy. But I can't find it on my MDAIII?
Is it included? I've looked on the CDs but one is for activesync and the other contains the voice dialing software.
I've even downloaded it and installed it, but its says thats it a trial version.
Thanks
Richard
Just did a hard reset - sorted..
Cheers anyway!
Well happy now! - Free software!
Voice dialling ?
Hi,
i just got my Qtek9090 today and still comparing it with my qtek2020. What voice dialling software are you talking about ?? I found true fax on mine, installed from ext rom, but i can't seem to find any voice dialling....
care to trade ?????
hihihihihihiihi
Its called 'Fonix VoiceDial'. My MDAIII came with version 2.0
Its clever, in that you say the person's name and number type, for example:
'Richard Mobile' and it says it back to you (in a computer voice) then you have to say 'Yes' or 'No' to confirm dialling.
Not very handy in that you have to start it up, via opening the software, so not very hands free!

Start, Programs KSA Truefax 2.0
Thanks, what happened was I cocked up the first 'hard reset' - when I first switched it on...
Sync'd it with Outlook and hard reset it, and its sorted
Thanks!
wich i could say the same......
I've set the voice dial to the record button on the side of the MDAIII for quick dialing.
So simple, yet so difficult for Richard.
Thanks! - What a cracking idea
I-mate must not be including Fonix with their PDA2K units.
Folks I've got a question for those of you that have a PDA2K/MDAIII does the fax software work? Cuse I can send faxes fine but can't recieve any, and apparently I'm not the only one if you take a look at the clubimate forums.
If it does work for you folks could some kind individual post the cab file for it from their extended rom.
Fax does work, but...
True Fax does work really well in sending faxes, once I had figured out I had it I had sent a fax within minutes.
Now receiving faxes, thats a different story:
With T-Mobile there are two different services:
Service 1 (Free to use for business customers)
First you need to ask your operator for a fax number on your account. With T-Mobile its apart of their VoiceMail+.
This enables you to receive faxes to your voice mail. So you can receive faxes, but they don't get to your pda :-( , when you recieve a fax, you get a voicemail message saying that you have a fax, you can then either delete it or sending to a 'real' fax machine.
Service 2 (£25 one off cost)
To receive faxes on our I-MatePDA2k you need to ask your operator for a fax and data line. once you have a fax and data number you can actually receive faxes on your PDA, but not how you would expect....
With your PDA you need to turn on the 'recieve fax mode' within TrueFax. This enables you to receive faxes, but it turns off your mobile number so you can't make or receive calls  when in this mode.
Vodafone in the UK have 'vodafone.net' which incorporates SMS/Email/Voice/Fax into one and I do really miss that service, becuase when I recieved a fax it came to me as an email attachment.
Hope that helps
TrueFax..SPV M2000
Hi everybody,
I have SPV M2000 fron Orange in Switzerland.
It doesn't seem to have TrueFax installed at all.... :x
Is there a way to get this program for free or I have to buy it?
thanks in advance

I'm afraid Fax support is completely network dependant. Some providers support it, some don't. You will need to ring your provider and ask them about it. Even if they do support it, they will probably give you another "fax only" number that people must send faxes to in order for your device to receive them.
O2
Hi
Just to let people know, that the O2 Online Consumer tarriff does not and will not support fax send/recieve (this came from the horses mouth).
O2 Online Business tarriffs do support fax and they will allocate a fax no for the mobile. Ditto Consumer and Business O2 tarrifs bought from an O2 shop.
If you need fax, avoid O2 Online Consumer tarrifs as they will not enable fax.

VOICE COMMAND OF ETEN M600: READS SMS???

I saw a review of ETEN M600 in a (italian) magazine: there was a photo showing the wm5-integrated voice command...the problem is: why does my qtek 9000 only have voice speed dial (to call contacts or launch apps) and the lower-class m600 has a full featured program, that can also - as clearly shown in the photo that struck me - read sms (!!), call telephone numbers even if not stored in the contacts database, and many many more interesting actions??
is there a way to extract it and use it on Universal?? I'd really like to have sms read to me (useful while driving), and the radio/bt/wifi turned on and off without having to open it, turn it on and click click click... it takes no more than 10 seconds but sometimes it's annoying!!
any hints about that?? any suggestion??
Isn't this just Voice Command? Why not just install Voice Command to allow you to execute commands like radio on/off etc?
V
MS voice command 1.5 you mean?? but as far as I remember (It's been a long time since I last used it on my old PDA) it can't read sms or so....
It can if you know how
However, out of the box I don't know if it can.
V
I don't understand...you mean that there's a way to have it reading out loud all my text messages?? oh man that would be great!! are you talking seriously or is it just a technical fantasy?? tell me I'm so curious!!!

Hmm! ;-)
Vijay555, do you mean there's a way to discover some more hidden capabilities in Microsoft Voice Command 1.5 UK?
I really would love to have some more functions in this. Don't see any upgrades coming at moment.
I don't know about hidden capabilities in Voice Command itself.
But there are other ways to make the Phone speak and there are a couple of competing speech engines out there.
I'm currently working on a speech program, VJLoquitur, using Flite and some other stuff.
Anyone going to the Modaco meeting this Saturday? I'll be showing it off there, hopefully.

[Q] Call Conferencing in WP7

Hi,
I am trying to do a call conferencing on my HTC Mozart and not able to do so.
The way I tried is as follows
Step1:
Called the first contact
Step2:
During the ongoing call, pressed the Down arrow key and then selected the option ‘Add call’ and called the second contact.
Step3:
Once both calls were active selected the Merge calls option.
The above step was supposed to bring a conference option at the top but I can only see the option to swap between both the calls (Putting one of the caller on hold)
Is there something I am missing here.
It would be really grateful for any of you to help me with this.
Thanks
Shamreez
Tried it myself yesterday, and did the same steps as you mention above.
That worked for me.
Also the steps on the Microsoft site seem to mention the same as you did.

Can it be a operator specific issue?

It was indeed an operator specific thing.
I called Orange and they told me that they had not added the call conferencing product on my account (Never knew that it had to be done like that)
Got it working now.
Can the mods close the thread please

[APP] The Telecom Toolkit, Should Save a Few Friendships...

I've been working with SIP clients lately, and needed to test call quality, reliability, etc. I figured there had to be something out there, besides a friend, that I could get to call me back, or test call quality. I went looking and found The Telecom Toolkit.
So quit bugging your friends with random calls asking things like "is my call echoing, echoing, echoing", or "can you hear me now"? Bookmark the site, and save the number to your contacts. And no, I'm not affiliated with this site in any way, shape, or form. I love free tools, and figured this might save a few friendships.
Web URL: The Telecom Toolkit
The number: 1-914-338-8802
And before someone goes and says "shouldn't this be in a general thread?" I say "NO, go away stupid!". I'm posting this is a dev thread because we're the ones that will use it. And if your curious as to what the tool is used for, call it. Its a machine, it won't get pissed at you...
I use SIP, so thanks for this!
I would rather bug my friends. Thanks for the info though.

Very easy method to unlock your ATT SIM card and move to another carrier!!!

Call the ATT Office of the President, Executive Escalations Team, (866-751-5784) and ask for them to provide the unlock code for your phone!! Simple!!

You'll request an email and it will come looking like this....
"Thank you for contacting AT&T regarding unlocking your device. The unlock code you need is 44070976. The steps you need for unlocking are below. You have 5 attempts before the phone will be permanently locked to AT&T’s network."
1. Power on the device and wait for the flash (logo) screen to give way to the main menu screen (also known as the Today screen).
2. Locate the unlock option at the bottom of the list of options on the Today screen. The icon is a padlock in the locked position.

Hmmmm... I have worked for Bell previously and know people in Atlanta that work in that office. Mostly do cell site integration for Ericsson & Nokia now... The ATT Office of the President, Escalations Team fields all sorts of complaints, but mostly from fcc.gov/complaints
Its just another call center that acts for the Presidents office, however, the difference... they're very knowledgeable and helpful to resolve any issue. However, with all the DATA caps, BS marketing, tracking down on rooted phones, charging for using hotspot.... It seems a great resource to get the unlock code and move to someone else, like Tmob.... Which isn't doing that...
The unlock code is unique to your IMEI number and after sliding in the Tmob SIM, it asked me for the code and BAM!! switched!!
