AppUnlock Tmobile TP2? - Touch Pro2, Tilt 2 Windows Mobile General

is there an unlocker for the touch pro2? or i can i use the one i downloaded in some other forum? Doesnt seem like it would make a difference, but just making sure...
thanks,
josh.

What do you mean by "AppUnlocker"? A simple registry hack to avoid the security warnings when installing unsigned CAB files?
If yes, this is what you want!

I've installed quite a few apps on my TMO TP2 without a problem why you need to app unlock it?

Try the one in the Blackstone section...it works

by AppUnlock, i mean CID unlock. same thing, no?

No.....
AppUnlock stops the annoying popup when new app is installed

whooooooops. my bad. and CID definition...?

Is your machine SuperCID?
Me too, Ive upgraded to Black 2.5 from WM5 on an Orange SpV M3100. I used to have three SPB programs loaded in the extended ROM. I can't delete them or load any new programs in the extended ROM. I've Unlocked it using HTweakC and tried deleting files with Resco explorer. I get the same access denied message.
Same issue here too...
Tried the unlock in the tweak proggie
Also ran the Super CID Unlock from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=293665&highlight=SuperCID
and still no joy.
I've got the same problem for WM6 . But after installed the 2 cabs from his http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=297085. Then ran the TWeak2k2 then it worked .

Ussualy, the extended unlock process with HTweakC is done in two pass. First unhide, softreset and Unlock.
You can use this attached CAB...Softreset after install
Of course, your Hermes must be SuperCID.
Regards.

The posts above indicate the need for Super CID - this is (I believe) the whole story:
On WM6 ROMS the various tweakers cannot, alone, unlock the extended ROM. With an WM5 OS it is possible to use the many tweakers alone and they simply change the registry. The tweakers will indicate both unhidden (visible) abd mounted (writeable) but in fact the extended ROM can only be seen (read only) on any WM6 ROM.
So to get around this problem you will, on WM6, have to either use pofs SuperCID and SIM unlocker (here) first or run olipros patcher being referred to above (here). BEWARE! If you run pofs Super CID sotfware you will remove Hard SPL (and so risk, during this change, bricking your device) - so do not forget afterwards to re-install HardSPL. This Super CID change will also allow you to use any providers SIM card in your phone so it will be 'unlocked'.
Personally I used pofs solution but the downside of that is that you have changed your device so that any original supplier might not allow a warranty claim. But of course many of us have already accepted that by using HardSPL and other changes to the device installed ROM software.

i hava a xda trion(htc hermes) which has no sim and cid lock.
now the extended rom can be seen , but as you said its only readable.

Cingular 8525 ROM Flash

Hi all,
I am in the process of getting a Cingular 8525 after my old one was stolen. I am looking on ebay and see there are serveral 8525's for sale. One in particular has a TNT 2.0 ROM. From what I read it sounds very interesting and reliable.
I am very interested with the custom ROMs that can be installed on the phone. I have fully read the wiki help guide (http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=HTC_Hermes) so I have a really well idea on how to do this. I only have a few questions hopefully I won't get flamed for.
1. Upgrading the rom is as easy as running the utility? Lets say I bought a phone that came with factory rom. I would just use the RUU follow the instructions and phone gets flashed?
2. I also read about a CIM Unlocker which leads me to my next questions. I really don't need the SIM unlocker since I will be using the same provider but good to do so anyways just incase. But the CID unlocker states "you will be allowed to flash ANY Hermes Shipped ROM" this means that I first have to use the CIM unlocker to even flash/cook any custom ROMs?
3. "Shipped Radio ROM" I don't quite understand what this is. the wiki states "The radio ROM provides improvements on the GSM radio stack and this has effect on GSM signal, AT command interface, GSM data modem (3G, GPRS, EDGE, HSDPA, etc...) functionality that is controlled by the Radio Interface Layer (RIL). The radio stack has nothing to do with WiFi or bluetooth -- it is only for the GSM/WCDMA part of the device."
Would I really need to worry about this if I install a custom ROM? Meaning won't the ROM have the latest radio? Or if a new Shipped Radio ROM gets released I can upgrade it without it interfering with the current ROM I have (etc TNT 2.0)?
Sorry for the extremely long post, but I like to fully understand everything before I make a huge purchase like this. Any help is extremely help. Thanks in advanced.

I'll just keep it pretty basic.
1. Most all of the cooked ROMs do use an RUU to install. So those are a basic "click to install" setup.
2. You have two options to flash any non-native carrier or cooked ROM. The first option is to CID unlock. The second is using the HardSPL method. The CID unlock is permanent, whereas the HardSPL method is not.
3. 90% of the time, cooked ROMs don't include the radio. So, that means it keeps your old radio intact on the phone. If you're having connection issues, try flashing more updated radio ROMs and test. Usually helps.
Hope that helps.
Just what I was looking for. As for the CID Unlock vs. HardSPL why wouldn't I want to use the CID Unlock vs. HardSPL which is not permanent?

No, don't be silly.
The question has been asked and answered so many times already I wanted to keep this thread short and let it "die off".
But! Since you asked, CID unlocking will void your warranty. Using HardSPL will not since it allows you to flash any ROM despite your CID status (locked or unlocked).

from rogers wm6 to htc wm6, HOW?

Hello, i have a problem.
i flashed my xda cosmo from wm5 to rogers wm6, no problem.
but now i want to flash from rogers to german htc wm6. i did all the steps needed. but there is no way for me to do this. is there anyone who did it?
please help.
Um, the same way?
Use the temporary CID unlocker posted as a sticky in the forum and flash back the same way you did the original Rogers ROM.
I can tell you, though, as someone who moved from T-Mo to HTC to Rogers that the Rogers ROM is the best and fastest in my experience. The ONLY thing that I liked about the HTC ROM was the fact that I could tell when I got a text message versus an e-mail because the icon showing at the top of the screen had a little phone in it. I am sure there is a reg hack for it, though, so I will figure it out sooner or later.
i did it like this: 1. i run sda unlock and reboot after take off the sd card
2. i run uspl-cid bypass, but i don`t get the white screen!!
also i can`t flash the german htc rom.
have anyone another idea?
does the sda unlocker work with rogers? I didn't think it did... I thought there was another unlock you had to use.

You have to install the rogers SP_Allow_Certificates. It's on the forum in a few threads, I found it in this one:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=306716&highlight=rogers+certificates
ok, i will test it, thanks
Here i am back. Yes, this was the right tip. It worked, i`m happy. Thanks a lot for your help.
yay! glad to hear it.

First time installing what do ya think?

Like the title says this is my virgin flash. So what do you guys think should be my first ROM? I've looked at a bunch.
Looking for stability and style.
Just to get this correct I need to unlock my phone even though it's att and I'm using att. (Should I just unlock the CID or both)
Then I need to install HardSPL 7.1?
Then flash the ROM I choose.
Then load APPS as needed?
Thanks for the help!
Hardspl v7 http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=296722
I would unlock and supercid http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=293665 then I ran hardspl again just to make sure, because unlocking changes the bootloader.
Then you should be good to go. Hardspl will help you in case you get a bad flash or bad rom, it's easier to recover. Supercid will allow to flash unsigned code (custom roms).
Looks like your on the right track, I'm just not sure where you got v7.1 for hardspl? That's why I included the links.
Also, "any rom you choose", but only from the Hermes forum. Flash a rom for another device means instant brick and you may not be able to recover it.
Hard SPL is a safety net only, there are NO guarantees you won't end up with a permanent brick, Hard SPL or no...
Most times you have to do something REALLY dumb to end up with a total brick but there is a miniscule chance, especially if you are playing around with the radio rom.
Happy flashing...
It was late last night and I couldn't remember if it was 7 or 7.1 lol. I'm charging the phone now. Gonna make sure it's nice and full then I'm gonna give it a shot. Thanks to you both for the help. I just needed to hear I was going about this the right way. I think I'll try one of Schaps ROM's first then try one of Josh's and see what I like about each. I've only got about 50 pages in on each so I'll read alittle more while the phone is charging. Thanks again!!
Oh wanted to ask also is there a Page or sticky just for Apps, skins, themes, and such or do I need to know what I'm looking for and search it?
Dang I thought my other phone had a microSD card in it.....turns out it's M2. Guess I'll stop on the way to work to pick one up. Non SDHC 2gb or less! Another question when it states now copy this to your phone....What file do I copy it to? (I'll head back to the Wiki and see if I can find that myself but figured I'd ask).
copy the RUU_signed.nbh and rename it hermimg.nbh the exe file is the flashing utility, and you don't need it if your flashing via the sd card.
make sure the card is formatted as fat32 (not fat).
Ok I did it the RUU way without the SD card. I'm now at 2.10.01 so I'm good. Now off to work and will hit the unlocker next. Thanks for the help!!
Ok unlock has been completed now I'm going to run Hardspl again. What about the radio I see that is has changed. Should I change that back to what it was at some point?
Ok I've done my first ROM flash wow! I grabbed Schap's WM6 Pro 4.31. I'll try it out and see if I like it. If not try another. Thanks again for helping me thru!
If you wish to risk changing the radio, do so but only if theres a problem. If the radio rom flash is interrupted, you will almost certainly have a brick on your hands.
Use the sd card method to flash so you then minimize the amount of problems you may have.
Remember though, if the radio rom is working fine, don't touch it....
Cheers...

Hard-SPL makes your device appear as SuperCID... it's all you need.

Ah, cool! Thanks, vp3G! I guess I took all the info wrong. Reading the 2 threads it wasn't clear. I guess my method worked though! haha
Yea, it's all quite confusing... Hard-SPL ended up negating the need to use pof's unlocker. Olipro is a friggin' genius (as is pof).
So all I needed to do was Hardspl and I would have been good to go? I have another hermes I'm doing for myself. I do find I'm not getting very little service if not none at all in the house. I use to get 3 or 4 bars. Should I change the radio? Does the radio change with each ROM loaded?
You can try going back to the radio that you originally had, just do it the sd method to minimize the chance of something going wrong.
You could compare the difference between the 2 hermes.

True, but if you wish to sim unlock then you still need Pof's unlocker.
I have to admit I'm getting there myself LOL. It really isn't that hard after you do it the first time. Some things I got stuck on (Pure newbness).
Some ROMs are compressed with .rar and .7.....I found you must download a unzipper/compressor to extract the files you need. I used Winrar some use 7zip. I'm getting there. There is soooo much info on this site. You find that you search for an answer and you get a page of answers with 3 different ways to do it LOL!
We have all been there at one point, too!
When I first brought my hermes home and it was still locked to the at&t network, I was so worried I was going to break it.
Lots of reading, and lots of tinkering later, and I am working on my own rom. Granted, I didn't port it, but I have done so much tweaking that I don't think anyone could tell where it came from.
Funny thing is, I still keep learning so much more. I think it's like my other hobby, ham radio, I don't think anyone can try everything! It seems to go on and on.
Ya know you gotta love the internet LOL. I've learned about so many things (mostly due to them breaking lol). Here's another question for you guys. For those who have Josh's 6.1 ROM. Where is the lock unlock button??? I see the lock device setup for password protection but I don't see a regular lock the screen so I don't make but calls button. LOL I'm gonna try to load his S2U2 thing when I figure out how to do it.
You can add device lock to the today screen under settings>today (at least it should be there), but if your using manilla I don't have a clue lol

Buying Dash!! :)

Im going to buy a dash off ebay that is unlocked. I planned on installing the Kavana rom. Would the new instalation remove the lock? also i have been looking at SPLs, would i need to install one? also, would install it after i install the new kavana rom? Why do i need an SPL?
Thanks for all the help you guys. Im new at this so i want to get off on the right foot.
i have flashed all roms avaliable and found nrg-rose v1.7a rom to be the best all things work ie: bt, sms, wifi etc. Worked right from the start. they also have many custom options ie:icons, home screen and the like. has auto configure for carrier network. work w/ t-mobile fav 5 just need to install cab.
ok i'll look into that rom. I have att so i was hoping it could still work with that sim...
yea as long as its unlocked, just run the auto.bat file and follow the instrictions
About SPL, when do i install it? and What does it do? you recommend one?
just be sure to install the sda app unlock, the .bat file will do all the work for you. all you might have to do is hit ok. its really quite simple. there was a time where it was more complicated, but not anymore
Thank you very much!
