ROM Emulator - Touch Diamond, MDA Compact IV ROM Development

Hey guys,
Thinking of starting to cook my own roms but i cant be arsed flashing the phone over and over again till i get it right so im wondering....
Is there a kind of emulator for the PC that can emulate the Diamond on the PC so i can run the roms after i cook them?
Cheers,
John.

Now THAT would be great!

+1 for the idea, but unfortunately, there isn't.

SamuelTee have made a kitchen to cook for the device emulator
Mabye in the future they found a way to convert the rom to a "REAL" phone

I did but none i found support .nbh files so utterly useless.
Unless you know of one?

I too would love something like this. That way I can have my Diamond and my Kaiser how they are and like a virtual testing phone for when I wanna try new ROM's without having to reset everything.

That looks sweet! Would be nice if someone could create something along those lines for the Hermes.

Since the ROM is for a Kaiser then no It wont work. ROMs contain more than just the OS, they have the drivers and files required for that particular device also.
Thanks for the reply. It is really a great looking ROM. I wish Dutty would make one for the Hermes.

dump the ROM and then use it's components with a kitchen to create your own (Shaminax does something similar with Schaps ROMs)

Yes but porting from one device to another takes a little genius for all the parts to fall together, at least from my experience.

how true that is! Might be better off just installing the dutty's apps via cab. Then again why not just wait tell poorlyducky uploads his new vista themes and use them instead. I can't wait to see a Faria (any word on that Dr. ) or K rom with the Vista themes.
Dumping a ROM and cooking is still a little over my head at this point. I'll keep enjoying all the great recipes the chefs here are cooking up.
Wow!!
Damn that is a nice looking rom.
Wonder what would be required by Dutty to create a hermes version too for us less knowledgeable folk???
My Kaiser is a company owned phone so I can't play around with it and, as much is it erks me, must run the official rom. Ahhh I hate official roms they suck.

Umm, last I checked, there is at least one, perhaps two, hermes ROMs that are using the same build as the keiser ROM from Dutty, and I'm pretty sure that I've seen a cab or two that install the keiser stuff (com manager, dialer, etc) on the hermes.
Unless you are looking for a nice all-in-one package, everything is already around, just have to look for it.

Baldur's Gate, IceWind Dale, Planescape:Torment on Pocket PC

"GemRB (Game engine made with preRendered Background) is a portable open-source implementation of Bioware's Infinity Engine which was written to support pseudo-3D role playing games based on the Dungeons & Dragons ruleset. It should run on GNU/Linux, Microsoft Windows, OS X and possibly other UNIX derivatives. It is licensed under the GPL. " (http://linux.prinas.si/gemrb/doku.php)

wow! please some one make this work! i'll be a tester too! i love baldurs gate and if i can play it on my hermes it will be amazing!
hey! developers! nobody loves BG&PST? (
Great ideas Guys hope they post this soon while am waiting al just play Doom 1,2, TNT etc. and Dukenuken 3D on my WM cant wait for this lol
Seems to me it would be an easy job, as all you would need to do is have the proper dependencies. http://forums.gibberlings3.net/index.php?showtopic=16785
This forum has a post about it, with a link to installation instructions. I don't have time to hassle with it now, but looks like you need a few libs installed and thats it. If anyone wants to try gof or it! Seems like all we would need is a CAB to install dependencies, and that youtube vid was a year ago, I am sure there is a way now.
Baldur's Gate would be the best and looks like the entire focus of the development. Problem would be that it would be VGA only. I don't see this working on a qvga screen. The original game was 480x640 with BG2 being able to play at VGA or higher.
well, i searched for a version of gemrb for ppc but found nothing on google... if any of the developers could create one it would be great! i really want to play baldurs gate on my hermes!
Oh man this would be awesome on my Touch HD. Good find! Now hopefully the gurus around here will take a look and get it working.
The last (and only) time I tried to port a python game to Windows Mobile, I was stuck at getting pygame to run. This seems to have less dependencies so might be easier.
I love the 2D series of RPGs but GemRB is nowhere near complete yet.
Well am not a programming guru but you Guys keep saying that its easy to port thats Good but can you tell us if your porting right now and we should wait for it to get completed or no body started yet I really wish I can help but again am not a programer al leave this to the pros
wow, this would be AWESOME if someone could get it to work!
If someone wants to try porting, here is a post with links to WinCE versions of the required libraries. I haven't tried any of them and the link is in Russian.
... made by the original poster, no less
because i am not a programer, if you csn tell me what to do, i am will to try my self... and where to find the games?
The games? You have to buy and prepare them for GemRB yourself. There was some discussion of fanmade games for GemRB but it is a lot of work.
Porting such a program is not a trivial task and is impossible for a non programmer.
yes, i am sorry, i figure it out about the games after that post... it's good then i have all the series of bg and IWD in my home... so, if i can not do anything because i am not a programer, as i said before i am willing to beta test so please, anyone can make it happend?
anyone?
I want this to happen! There's gotta be somone out there who can do it!
This would...
This would change my life! (well my free time)
FOR EVER! (for at least 2 weeks until I complete it again.)
I have such warm fuzzy memories of this game. Imoen the theif girl who I am sure I managed to pull.....
Hours and hours of clicking frenzy.
Never Winter nights 2 just never grabbed me in the same way that these old games did.
I really hope that this can be done. I am unable to sit in front of my PC and replay this as I have so many things I wan to play and look at. Having this on mobile wouyld be perfect!!

hmm...hehehe... Im not a programmer, only play around in flash because its very simple to use.
I was offering more on the edition of images department, sorry... :/
well everything is in LUA scripts the menus the interface ...
i will have to play a lot to make it work on qvga, BTW it starts on QVGA device but as you know the resolution is a lil high for it
Wooohooo, and there's the next great Desktop game coming to us!
BTW: I can test it on my Diamond for VGA users if you wish!
i think there is easyer way to do it for VGA - this is WVGA and all the graphics have their sizes fixed ....
i will have to find my starcraft cds ... to start experiment on this
OMG if you guys can get this working on VGA as good as warcraft2 runs and as bug free I (and im sure many others) will donate!!!!!!!!!! HUGE starcraft fan here =)
WOOHOO....HUGE Starcraft fan here too. I can't wait for Starcraft II to be released. I have both original CD's of Starcraft I and Brood Wars. I still play this today. I have many more missions (maps) from users on the internet. Some are awesome.
I swear I will buy a WVGA device just to be able to play this game!!! I will certainly use my wife's Xperia to test it once it's going.
bump.. no helpers? =)
Why dont you try to run it on VGA, it will start, but some of the things may be cutted from the both sides

I was a fan myself, and I guess I still am, so I would like to help, let me know what I can do.
my spare time is very limited but I'll try.
I cant program, so I can only help on the images...
Wouldn't it be easier to get a working VGA game, since StarCraft runs in VGA natively? And if you want to make it WVGA, you would stretch the aspect ratio of the game?
Normally I prefer to have correct aspect before full-screen, but perhaps it's different on such a small screen.
Anyway, StarCraft would be the NUMBER ONE GAME I'd like to have on PPC, bar none. And, I do have a Diamond - so I'm quite biased towards the VGA version...
Amazing! Can't wait to see it, I really hope you bring it to VGA. If you need someone to help test it on a VGA device, my Touch Pro is at your disposal.

what do i need to run java .jar files on desire

I am wanting to run some java programs on my desire, what do i need to do this ??
i used myriad on my winmo device but cant seem to find anything suitable to run .jar files on my desire
I need this trick too... did anyone found any solutions?
There is a way to do this, I don't know how however.
Just thought I'd give this topic a bump for you, I'm sure the Hero version of Sense actually came with an app that ran Jar files
I need to know the answer to this also.
This all singing all dancing phone is missing some important features, J2ME support is one of them. Surely the web browser supports Java so there must be good apps out there?
Please help someone?
Android does not support J2ME. So all those dumbphones jar files are useless as they will not run on Android.
Yeah we know that.
But there must be and emulator that works.
I mean there's gameboys, super nintendos and I hear a PS1 is coming!!
So come on, someone must know of a half decent app.
lads take a look here http://www.osnews.com/story/23043/Myriad_Tool_Converts_Java_Apps_for_Android_Phones
ooh
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-ivr80-Tra4
however they're not targetting end users
oh well time to get my dearstalker on
I am guessing since it converts them to Davlik that one would need Froyo to run the converted apps?

[Q] Psfreedom with hermes v4?

Thanks in advance.

There's a custom payload feature on psfreedom.
BTW spoofing is pointless
does the custom payload on psfreedom work on games that require 3.42 or higher I new at this but if you look at the plam pre psfreedom wiki they have an option for hermes v4 and the incredible doesn't have that listed I think it has to do with and option during booting. I'm not interested in online play just playing backups that require 3.42 upgrade. Any help is appreciated.

NO. It does nothing except makes your ps3 believe its running 3.55 so that it won't update. Unless you have idiot friends that would update your firmware there is no use for it. No online play or anything like that. Hold on tight though looks like they make have a fully hacked ps3 soon. Meaning any updates Sony could push would be pointless. Right now sony is still winning this battle. (Ok they are really getting slaughtered but the available hacks aren't for everybody)
Cyberskunk has been a busy late-night compiler, and decided to give everyone a chance to use the v3.55 Spoof!
Here is the 3.55 spoof for hermes and the PL3 set on all boards..
Decided to make these up since it was a fairly simple trick they've used..
Like the 'official' PS3Yes and E3 releases..
All it does is spoof firmware v3.55 to stop someone accidentally updating your PS3..
Enjoy

Try Multiman. Much better. But its supposed to go back to xmb. Once back to xmb it should show up as the disk thats in the Ps3. Lets say your have MAG in your ps3 and Tiger Woods saved to your hard drive. When booting jailbreak mode MAG should be under games. After loading Tiger Woods it will go back to XMB and Tiger Woods will now show up where MAG was. Also make sure you have a ps3 game in the ps3. You cannot do it without.
My problem is two games when I load them work just fine but the rest once I launch them in opembm then select the game in the xbm it goes to black screen then after a few seconds back to the xbm. whatever game I'm starting that disc shows in the xbm and it just doesn't start.

Check on that list to see if they work. I know NFS and Gran Turismo won't work. I'm sure there are others.
