Schap's WM6 Pro 4.00 Beta 1 ROM (CE 5.2.1921 build 18521.0.7.0)

I need beta testers for this Beta 1 version of the new ROM I'm working on.
There will be a lot of new stuffs in the final release, so it means a lot of work and complications, so I will make it step by step.
This new version will be a mix of all the best components among Hermes ROMs and new ROMs from other devices. This Beta 1 is a basic ROM and will be quite similar to the final Lite version, it is meant to test the stability of this new build.
Unfortunately I wasn't able to make it "real big storage" like Bepe did, I spent hours and hours working on it, without success, so if anyone managed to make a real big storage ROM please let me know!

So far very fast, I mean VERY fast, I loaded it out with my usual setup (free storage around 40 MB) and it still is a burner, no issues with stability (yet). I'll see how it holds up when I setup touchflo and work with my corp network.

yep but the only extra (that I can see) is advanced config, no audio manager, home, or any of the extras, you will also need your operator settings for internet access. All basic functions work

Guys before this thread get any bigger i just wanted to make sure everyone is aware that this is a BETA. So there are bound to be bugs in it and as already stated this is the very bare minimum ROM.
So Therefore:

I cannot change my settings in Sounds & Notifications. After making the change I click OK and it just flashes hour glass and then changes back to default settings. I can't get out of the screen without a reset.

I had this problem in some other builds
i will test this problem on my hermes
i have the same problem to exit from settings

I can confirm this same thing is happening. You can get out of the sounds and notif settings by hitting start and today but settings revert back to original. They do not save and exit. This was the first bug that I checked out. Going to do a hard reset to see if it will fix it. Doubt it. I am here for the testing. I love it. Can't test 3G till tomorow on my way to work.
Update: Hard reset did not fix it.

Direct3D
I am testing ... very fast... I loaded few proggies and still fast. Iam wondering if it is all possible to cook in MS Direct3D an X file so it will be able to trigger and open Google Navigator.

There seem to be some issues with activesync. I don't know what it could be but it seems that it hangs sometimes while doing multiple things during activesync and won't stop when you disconnect. I have added WMP today pluggin, VJ Candela, Simulsays Visual Voicemail, the new LiveSearch, and Shogun's palm threaded app.
Oh yeah: Its very fast. Even after what I have put on there so far.

Yay for Schaps! Welcome back, I think I speak for everyone when I say we missed you and your ROM's.
Whilst I would love to help test it I am going to have to sit and wait on the sidelines I'm afraid. I use my phone heavily for work and it needs to be stable and with full functionality.
When you release the Full edition in an Release Candidate version I'll pop by and help with the final testing.
Unless of course there is a way I can image my phone so that I can get it back to the exact way it is now after testing?

Google Ion 1.6 for HTC Hero.
This project aims at getting the stock Google Ion Rom to run on HTC Hero. No Rosie or any HTC apps will be ever added to that rom. Once fully functional it could be used as a base for cookers.
Current release: Lox-ION-1.0b3 (logcat)

What does not do far
- bluetooth (logcat seems it is relative to libc.so - Uncompatible with current kernel ?)

Just did a bit of snooping around and the GPS does work, you sure you checked it right? I did a bit of tinkering but none of it was related to the GPS at all. Trackball I'm still not sure about, the keylayouts have the same keycodes but still doesn't seem to want to work. Accelerometer just needs the permission to be granted to execute, except I'm not to sure how to do that cause I'm a bit new to linux. As for the bluetooth, don't get me started, its giving me a headache lol xD

hey i m using this rom and its working beautiful...man nice job and the trackball blinks when a phone is ringing ....but doesnt blind at the time of reminders....but still great job...

What about headphone detection? I know with the other Ion ROMs, when you plugged in headphones, it went unnoticed unless you downloaded an app to manually switch the audio over.

Can I ask a question though, whats actually involved in fixing these issues?? Is it blind luck playing with config settings and that, or are you getting debug output?

Well, both in fact. The only debug output I get is from logcat and device logs.
Some issues might also be tight to kernel version.
But please there is a how to cook thread

You sure the phone is not locating you based just on nearby cell towers?

Market Apps
Hey all.
We've got a problem with the Donut Market over in the Vogue forums. In Donut, when we load up the Market, there are only 20-30 apps available. Going back to Cupcake builds, the problem persists. However, logging in with a fresh Gmail account gets rid of the problem (in Cupcake.)
So far, my guess as to the cause of this is that Google's server have taken note of any "pirates" accessing the as-of-yet unreleased Donut market, and locked them out. However, I don't see any complaints along those lines here.
So, my question to all of you is, while you say the Donut Market is working, do you still seem to have access to all the applications you did in Cupcake?

very nice rom a few issues just to let you know as i flashed it last nite
1.some people having trouble with APN's - FIXED
2.No Contacts Widget
3.No Gallery.apk - FIXED (3D gallery,rotation bugs still exists though)
4.No setup app at the begining of the rom - FIXED
5.some people missing HTC widgets
6.facebook updates dont show in friendstrem (only twitter)
7.gps location in weather and flipclock (works in google maps though) - FIXED
8.changing theme freezes the phone you have to reboot for theme to be applied
9.Not all market apps visible.
10.USB (disk Drive) Dosnt Mount
11.Live wallpaper option is there none installed though tried starfield from market froze had to pull the battery need to test others.
some Hot fixes will be available from villain forums today.
really hope these issues get fixed because the problems aside this is a gorgeous rom

So to clarify, is this for myTouch 3G or myTouch Slide? If Slide, it hasn't come out yet, right? If not Slide, then can you please clarify which models work with this?
Edit: noticed it was in the G2 forum - is that the only phone this ROM works with? The European Hero?

yes it is a port of the MyTouch Rom for the GSM Hero.

i'm quite curious about this, maybe anybody could post some snapshots?

I will attempt to hotfix some of these issues on my lunch break, from the comfort of my car on the laptop that resides in there.

Camera working normaly on rhod-100?

i have tried some builds now, kernels etc. but i can't seem to get it to work, so my question is: is there someone here with an rhod-100 who got the camera to work. (with working i mean, are you able to make pictures without the camera crashing or freezing after 4-5 secs after u started the app >.<)
the newest 10/1 kernel made no difference and yes i tried the latest frx03 version (also some prev. versions) froyo x also did not worked for me. what should i do?

I can't get it working too....

Rhod100_de - Photos: yes - without crash hm - i think its related to autoexposure or whitebalance - as long as the image keeps somewhat static the app (Vignette from latest FroyoX in my case) works, if i change the image the screen gets distorted and the app or os crashes

I can make pictures in 1 out of 10 Android runs. But than it crashes after making 1-4 pics. So it works a little bit. Force Closes, freezes, crashes etc. are normal as for now on the rhod100 and it seems that there must be some debugging progress . But i think that will come along at some point! . I think it has to do with the stolen gpios that are used by the Keyboard (was it that or another module?) and are making more trouble on the rhod100's then the other rhod models.
Hope this will be fixed

Logs, as always. However, I don't think the RHOD100 camera is any worse off than the other RHOD's - my cam is far from perfect, I get FC's and the like as well.
The code is still very experimental - but the more logs that viruscrazy gets, the better - that's for sure.
As for the RHOD100 issues, those seem to all center around the panel - which hopefully WisTilt2 will resolve soon (haven't seen him in a week or so, but he said he'd be back around Sunday...)

i thought camera is working better on all other rhodiums? All i read in the test thread (ok i didn't read EVERY Post ) was working, working, working. Only rhod100's had problems posted there i thougt. Good to know that it is that different . I will see if i can send him some logs. What you say about the hopefully soon solved panel problems sounds great.

03/20/2011 update: no progress made, throwing in the towel
I can't figure the framework out, every edit I make breaks something else. Long story short, this is a little too in depth for me! Between work and family life, I don't have the time to sink into this to figure it out. For anyone interested in picking the project up, I'd recommend trying to merge an updated Meizu /system dump. Once you do, you'll need to baksmali services.jar and make some major edits. Here's 3 more up-to-date /system dumps I've found around various fora:

Good luck to anyone who decides to pick this up, it's no joke!

Here's a working port of the Meizu M9 ROM for Vision! I need your help debugging and testing the ROM. This is to be considered totally experimental, and is still in need of further development. I wouldn't recommend using it as your daily driver (although I suppose you could ). I'm looking for input from other hackers on fixing what's broken. Thanks!
Flash it with CWM. It will work with the latest version available in ROM manager.

Major
- Wifi - enabling causes the phone to reboot
- Bluetooth

- Resolution issues (framework edits are needed)
- Graphics issues (white on white text, etc)
- Time isn't automatically set properly. Manually set your time if it's off.. YMMV.
- Random Chinese text here and there

- The M9 ROM doesn't seem to sync well with Google. Your contacts will not be synced. I believe this is the intended behavior of the ROM itself, but I need to do more testing/investigating.

i have first seen this phone during my stay in china and am really interested in the whole meizu thing!
I kinda need my phone to be stable for at least the next week cuz ill be without internet or anything (going snowboarding, woohoo), but after that i will definitely flash this and help finding bugs and whatnot

i very much doubt there a german translation, this rom comes in Chinese only, so they only translation there is, its for English.

btw mountig sdcard via usb works, you just have to do it a couple of times, eventually it will work. thats how it was when i last worked on my build.

i just tried it out on my gsm htc vision and i had a lot of problems even if the rom boot.
no sim detection. no keyboard/trackpad/buttons working.
i just can't try it more since i can't lock/unlock the screen and can't use the home button.
hope you'l lfix it, this rom sounds really interesting.
