Since I have got this new Krussel Case for my HTC Touch HD, I dont want to use my stylus anymore.
I can manage a lot without, but there is one thing i really miss.
A finger friendly taskbar, with a bigger "X" to end programs.
Is there any solution?
Well you'll just have to wait for the new build to become stable and fast (23022 if I'm not mistaken) there you will have a OK button on the bottom of the screen and everything is finger friendly I tried it and must say was impressed with it I hope it's developed further Mirri has a ROM you can try it.

try searching for a program called Showcase...I forget who coded it (my bad), but it is a great task managing program and it will allow you to switch between programs or close a program and it is completely finger friendy.
That'll be this then:

This would have been amazing while I used WinMo on my Vogue. I would flash back from Android to try this if it ever came to the Vogue.

Probably not
BTW what would be even nicer is if we could get this to work on Android
Yes, the linked article specifically references resistive touch screens, so it sounds like it could be possible to the right developers.

Its definitely possible since this was specifically developed for resistive screens not capacitive. There is even an SDK. I'd love to see this on Android with the Vogue.

Cooking this in is not the issue... Long story short... nothing works with it yet
Actually, the only reason I want to use this is because in PocketGBA (or PocketSNES or any other emulator) I can't press more than one button at a time. So when I try to use the directional pad, I have to pick up my finger to press buttons.
Would this multi-touch mod fix this?

Not if it isn't supported by the application.
Hi guys, ever since I updated my Desire with Froyo (OTA) I've experienced a "bug" in the "dual-touch" that the Desire has.
The problem is when you are dual-touching and hold the first finger absolute still and remove the second one, the touch of the second one stays on until you move the first finger.
Which isn't a big problem until you play a game where you have to hold one button and steer at the same time.
Link to a crappy video to show my problem: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3eLYfHGeFnY
Now to my question, is it only me who is experiencing this kind of problem? Could this be fixed with a bakground app that checks the touch screen (when the second touch leaves the screen)?
/Oggeh
Same problem, i think is "normal" for the desire...isnt a multitouch screen..is an emulation and of course dont work properly..
Sent from my HTC Desire
But I don't recall the Desire having that problem before Froyo :/

the desire dosent have multi-touch, it has dual-touch, basically the way this works is, the desire's screen can only physically detect one finger touch, when you touch the screen with a second finger, although the desire can detect that a 2nd finger has touched the screen, it dosent know where that 2nd finger touch is, it then uses a mathematical algorithm using 3 points of reference, to work out where the 2nd finger is ..........

ok this is problematic in FPS games and games like meteor blitz
something i noticed though, on my previous amoled desire i had the official screen protector installed so i never noticed the problems in games
now on my new handset still unprotected, multi-touch games struggles a lot more
can anyone else confirm if their experience is better with the screen protector?

Even though I didn't notice this kind of bug before Froyo update? I mean, did someone experience this in 2.1?? Before Froyo it was possible to play games, emulators etc.
And yes I know that the Desire don't have the best touch sensor.

yes it happend with eclair, its because, imagine when u touch the screen with one finger, the screen detects it yeah? when u touch it with the second one the device see's it as one big finger touch, and then uses its reference point to work out where the 2 fingers are, now when u take one finger off again, because the first finger is still touching the screen it dosent realise because it cant phyically distinguish two fingers if you get what i mean lol

Hello all,
Today I started working on an app to test Windows 8 touch capabilities with my Synaptics touchpad. The app kind of works at the moment, but only with one touch point. I haven't figured out how to get the number of the touch point in the touchpad packet data.
How To:
Download the app (link below) and run the SynapticsToTouch.exe. It should work now, try using your touchpad. You may want to calibrate your touchpad with the Calibrate button. Click it and follow the instructions.
Download v0.3 alpha: https://github.com/downloads/Digiex/SynapticsToTouch/SynapticsToTouch_v0.3_c3902b3a54.zip
Source code: https://github.com/Digiex/SynapticsToTouch/
Issue Tracker: https://github.com/Digiex/SynapticsToTouch/issues/
Please fork and fix any bugs you might find
Bug reports and feature requests should go to the issue tracker You can report in this thread too, but they might get ignored.
Awesome work, I always wanted to try Windows 8's touch interface.
It works nicely, however it has some glitches, like tapping in one section of the panel actually translates in the other side of the screen, taps on the start screen get interpreted as scrolling, etc.
It's kinda difficult to hit small buttons tho
Nice work, would like to see more of this.
Keep it up :good:

I fixed the tapping bug, thanks. v0.2 alpha: https://github.com/downloads/Digiex..._07170ef033b5a3eade530a78d9de395e3350da3a.zip

v0.3 alpha adds minimizing to taskbar and saving calibration settings. Also a button to run as admin so touch input works everywhere. Download: https://github.com/downloads/Digiex/SynapticsToTouch/SynapticsToTouch_v0.3_c3902b3a54.zip
This is Great! I have been looking everywhere for something like this. To be honest I don't know why the synaptics touchpad isn't designed like this from the start. Synaptics says it has a suite of gestures. Well that's all well and good but half the time the gestures just get in the way. For instance sometimes I just move my finger from left to right and all of a sudden I find myself going from the desktop to the "Start" menu (the one with the apps).
Just noticed something: Is there anyway you can make a keyboard shortcut override? Because of course as soon as you touch the pad it is interpreted as a mouse/finger down event, yet getting the precise location is difficult. So if there was a way to override the mouse/finger down event just until you are in the right area that would be good I think. At least until the user gets used to where on the touchpad to touch in relation to the display.
What the deference with official Synaptics app. official work very good for me

This app allows you to touch anywhere on your touchpad and have the cursor move to that location on the screen as if you had a touch screen
I'm just wanna know if there is a cool customizable ROM that is ideal for everyday use and for playing games without it crashing or closing unexpected. I currently have CM ROM + Elemental X 1.3 kenrnel and im liking how it running except when I put my 10 fingers on it and tap rapidly then I stays there for a little while like for about 4 seconds I'm just wondering if that's normal thanks.
Why do you need to put ten fingers on the screen?
Sent from my Nexus 7 using Tapatalk 4
OK so my 10 finger answer got answered but how about when I hold one finger on the screen then I put a second finger on it then I take one finger off and it still shows that i 'm still holding it there but right after I move my finger it takes the second ghost finger off..??

There is that section that you can go and find roms, kernels and other staff, it is called "Development".
Try many roms and see by yourself what suits you better, there is no such thing as "best rom", it depends on your needs, likings, etc... So this thread has no purpose and therefore..
Thread closed.
Running the latest global beta 7.6.1 ROM just updated tonight... was same on 7.5.16 too
My Google pixel does not experience this.. It is really bad on games too - like Pixel Gun and Minecraft PE
I have similar stuff happening on 7.5.19 Xiaomi EU ROM. But it doesn't bother me.
Basically, I think the ROM gives some tolerance on how far should the initial movement has gone to unlock the pointer from the initial position. Definitely not a hardware problem.
Does anyone else have this issue? I am thinking about returning my MI6.. can anyone else take a video using the multitouch tester like me, and doing a touch and fine movement on the screen without making the circle move? please help! I really need to know if this is just the phone, or whether mine is faulty. thanks so much in advance

Actually the touch is very sensitive, just the way they decide that if you put down the finger like that, no mistouch (no movement is recorded). Whenever I play game, just push enough and move your finger and I have no problem with that (as a habit of gamers, I don't stiched my fingers on the screen that much).
Actually if you put the finger down and move it a little, it move the circle. But if you hard push for longer, slightly move don't move the circle. Hope you can sort it out.

That's what I have suggested to him too.
There shouldn't be a problem if you immediately move your finger upon touch. It's just if you don't move, it'll create some threshold in order to the cursor to be movable from the initial position.
Does the multitouch works good when you are not holding the phone in the hand? try putting the phone on a pilliow and try using 5 fingers on the screen with this multitouch tester app and see if it recognize all 5 fingers.
I had the nexus 7 2013 and it had that problem :/

There's actually no problems at all touching the screen. its only when I touch then drag, I need to move my finger greater than 5mm for it to recognise the finger is moving - if moving the finger slow... Watch the video I posted in first post and you understand.
In a game, for example. playing a FPS game like Minecraft - you select the block you want to remove and then you swipe your finger from that block to the next its very jerky, because the pointer does not unlock with small finger movement. takes big movement then its unlocked. once unlocked its fine - the whole time I don't lift my finger from the screen..
So its really annoying playing games - because I have to touch the screen, then swipe to unlock the pointer, then I can aim and shoot at the enemy or remove blocks in minecraft.
Some have said its the game, but you can also try with the stock launcher - going between screens of apps, you swipe left or right, it takes 5mm finger movement before the screen starts to move to the next..
I tried the inbuilt Finger touch sensor tester, and the touch and move finger 5mm is represented as 2 pixel dots - instead of a line. so something is farked up in the software. I have 2 x MI6 (bought another to test) and both seems the same... Xiaomi need to fix...
Well my Mi 6 is on the way from GearBest China and when i will get it i will install the Global Rom and will try to do this test with this app and will see if i have the same problem as you.
Purchased mine on Gearbest aswell (international rom), came with 8.0.2.0 upgradeable to 8.2.2.0, I upgraded and I have not this problem at all.
Maybe they fixed it with the latest update?

I also have Nexus 7 2013. The problem was jittery touch when you do multi-touch. It's kinda different problem.
But the case in Nexus 7 2013, it can be fixed by pushing the fix via ADB.
Same here.
But i think the developers want it.
I think it is a feature, not a bug. For better usebility.
Yes lol, a feature that we don't really want exactly like the notification light new feature which is that it only have one color - white.

I tested this, on a friends Xiaomi Rednote 4, the touch delay wasn't there as far as we could see, so it doesen't seem to a feature of MIUI, maybe it's a bug or something.
It was running MIUI 8.1 I believe.
If it is a bug, you should ask Xiaomi to fix it.
