Backup TEXT/SMS Message for Windows Mobile - Touch HD Themes and Apps

Hello,
Can anyone help me find good software for me to backup SMS/Text Message to my PC/Laptop
Thanks

pim backup/spb backup
and some desktop software/need sync

How about something that backs up via Contact>Time instead of Contact>Sent>Received. :S None of the backups are good for threaded text.

Jeyo mobile extender is what i use, integrates sms with outlook

Microsoft MyPhone !!! Its free and works brilliantly (I used it to backup my 6.1 device before flashing to 6.5 and restoring). All my messages were saved. I save my contacts in hotmail, but they are all in MyPhone as well.

This problem has every backup service, even Microsoft own My Phone. The solution to this is to set SMS mode on 'classic', then restore your messages, then set back to 'threaded'! Watch out: this could take a while!

How to backup (or sync with Outlook?) SMS/MMS?

Dear all,
May I know how to backup SMS & MMS, in ActiveSync seems only "Emails" will be sync, not SMS & MMS.
Thanks a lot
have you tried Jeyo Mobile Extender for Outlook?!
its great in dealing with sms via outlook. i'm not sure with mms though.
it requires registration but, hey! try searching for cracks/keygens in the net!
tnx!

Back-up questions

What are the differences between Xbackup and the backup program in Activesync? I am familiar with the one included in Activesync.
What I really want is something like Ghost for a desktop - something where I can screw with the registry or programs and if I mess something up I can just install that "image" and have everything fixed and like it was before. Can either of these do that?
I think your best bet is to pick-up Sprite Backup. It images your entire device into a self-extracting EXE file that you can store on a memory card.
It can also be used to save your programs and other files between software upgrades. A very handy program!
N.
Where do I get it? How much does it cost, if anything? Any other tips in its installation or use? Anyone else have any comments or thoughts?
Just remember that these types of backup can not be restored when you do a ROM upgrade.
I use WebIS Mail and store all my emails on the unit's internal storage card. I still have not found a way to back up all my sms and mms messages. So on every full reinstall or ROM upgrade, I loose all my sms and mms messages . The only app I have used to back up my text messages is Jeyo Mobile Extender for Outlook. However, it does slow down Outlook when you open it.
I guess I would like something that allows me to store a file on my SD card that I can re-install if I were to have trouble out and about, as it were.
Tell me more about this Jeyo Mobile Extender. What does it do?
As for backing up SMS and MMS messages can't you (and this is just theory, I have not tried it yet) move all messages in your SMS or MMS inboxs to your Outlook inbox and then sync up and move them into your inbox in Outlook on your desktop and then reverse the process to put them back in?

Google: Jeyo Mobile Extender
It's a valid theory, but I'm looking for an application that will backup my mms and sms files real time via wifi or usb. Jeyo Mobile Extender still doesn't have the option to sync via wifi. At least I have not gotten it to work properly. Syncing via USB works like a charm though.

Duplicate contacts

I'm using pdaviet rom, everytime all the contacts duplicated (one contact duplicated 4-5 time). How to disable this?
I often experienced it, it because i use fallback backup from PIM backup, but after that i connect to my PC, then activesync syncronizing with it with the record from outlook, those both source duplicates the contacts...
Now i've just do backup/restore by PIM backup
Roger that. Clear!
Thanks a lot
Try this freeware to eliminate Duplicate Contacts : http://www.1800pocketpc.com/2008/06...icate-contacts-on-pocketpc-or-smartphone.html
Yeah, I went through the same issues.
When I ended up with all my contacts entered 4 times, I decided it was time to pull the pin on Outlook synch. Now I just use PIM Backup and don't have any hassles.
Personnally, as i need to synchronize with outlook, i use LBE products (http://www.lbetoolbox.com/) It is not freeware, but the demo can already help you if you do not have to long files (only act on 20 or some at a time) The advantage is that it deduplicates also outlook.
Or, do a sync before your flash for example, followed by a pimbackup (so you have also your sms,...) and sync first after.
Hope this helps
I use Jeyo Mobile Companion, it can back up contacts and sms's, Its fantastic, and takes all of 1min.

Do you have to have MS office loaded to save your contacts and then reinsert them?

I have MS office 2000 pro, but it does not support outlook for contact saving with my vx6900, I was told I needed office outlook 2003 or better, Just wondering if there is another way to save contact, I can veiw everything after I sync except contact and one other folder. Am I correct that if I flash or rom upgrade to moble 6.1 I will lose the contacts?
Also is ther a video or link to do all the updates for the xv6900. I'm a beginer to modifing phones, but I know alot about upgrading and building computers.
No, you can use PIM backup. You can download it here.
+1 ^^^
PimBackup works great. I've never had an issue w/ it on my XV6700 or now on my Sprint Vogue.
One word of caution though;
I have a friend that has the Verizon XV6900, and we can't get PimBackup to restore contacts on his phone.
We've even tried doing a backup of just the contacts, and still no success.
He has them in Outlook, so he just sync's after a Rom flash, but just be sure Pim Backup can restore before you flash.

How on earth do I backup my contacts?

I keep playing w/ Microsoft Activesync, but I can't figure out how to just save my contacts into a file on my comp, so if I have to reset it, I can just drag it back onto the phone and viola. Any advice? I googled it and couldnt' find a step by step. I'm a huge newb with this, so it's much appreciated
Search for PIM Backup... That backs up everything, inc messages, call logs, contacts, e-mails etc
+1 for PIM Backup. Also, Microsoft My Phone works very well too. You can get it in the Marketplace.
If you have synced your contacts to Outlook via ActiveSync, you will be able to sync them back to a new phone or after a hard reset.
Dashwire also works great.
i use active sync with my gmail acct, my contacts get sync to google.
as an idea, the good part is when i flash roms, i just need to add the active sync back to get contacts back.
I use activesync to backup my contacts on my computer and PIM Backup to have them on my storage card, which has come in handy MANY times!
