Hey guys,
Was just wondering if anyone has made a backup of their rooted htc hero using nandroid and if they willing to share it or upload it?? My original backup, before I began messing with my system files, for some reason causes my phone to loop on startup :-(
Firmware 1.5
Build number 1.76.405.6
Software version 1.0.0.A6288
Hopefully the above helps...
Ofcourse, I will help you!
What exactly do you need? The complete dump? I don't want to upload files which will have my personal details included: )
Just let me know and I'll upload
Thnx
Thanks for the help nick, send me all the files that the system needs to boot and function, and leave out the ones that have ur details etc in??? Hopefully it works.
REALLY appreciate it!
Sure,
No problem, can someone help me which files this guy should need to get his phone up and running?
to ensure he gets all he needs. if you want to help, the best way would be for you to, back up now > factory restet > do another backup> and dump the lot >and restore your origional backup...
Once again nick, you will be a saviour!
Ok guys, so I managed to get the backup files off a friend here in Greece. The funny thing is that his phone, just like mine on first boot-up came with greek/anglish keyboard... and he rooted and backed his up right then. When you do a system restore, for some reason we loose our greek keyboard, and cant get it back... Now with his nandroid backup, I have the keyboard back...

I have lost my swedish keyboard dictionary after a restore. Bought my phone from England, living in Sweden. After first boot-up it worked great. After restore it is gone and it does not seem to be a way to have it back.
Is anyone willing to help by supplying a nandroid backup for the scandinavian rom.
Big thanks in advance.
Would also appreciate a stock nandroid backup of the original ROM (UK White unlocked/sim-free version). Tried installing the modaco hero patch (v1.3) but encountered the DHCP bug.

Good morning! So, before updating to the newest dopod rom on my qtek 9000, I figured I'd be wise and cover my bases by backing my email/sms/mms up via sprite AND spb just to make sure of a good back up method, and even tested restoring them without incident. Well... that's where the goodness left off. I was silly and hand taken the time to read up on the restore process, and after the rom update, when I ran a restore, even of just the emails, it manages to hose the entire system. So, looks like I'm gonna be tryin to flash back down to the old rom and restore the stuff... and figure some way to export it all, then import it into the new configuration. Anybody got any ideas?

You may have missed the official tutorial on Device Upgrade mode - you MUST remove all POP3 accounts before backing up.
Hi, i know this maybe on other threads but i cant findit, yesturday my phone speaker stop working, my phone have warranty, AT&T send me a new 8525, but my problem is that i have to many things on my old phone that i dont remember all (diferent hacks and program fix that i spend long nights working) i whant to backup my rom with all the programs and setings to install it on my new phone, i have to send the old phone ASAP, please can someone help me. THANKS.
You can use Sprite Backup that has a feature of backing up ROM or Full backup. Or you can use SPB Backup. Both are good and will do your task.
And were can i download this programs?????
try spb image my friend
And were can i download this programs?????
OK my friends i locate this programs but they are to backup DATA on my PDA and i want to backup my ROM and create a RUU to install my rom on my new phone.
Sprite and SPB Backup both back up your settings, documents, programs (if they are in device memory) - all the data on your phone except the ROM. Dumping your ROM and then coming back and trying to create a RUU from it is going to be a pain the... well, it is unnecessarily difficult.
First, use one of the programs above and do a full backup. Then, when you get your phone back, flash the same ROM you are using now and then restore from your backup. You will achieve the same result with much less trouble.
Is there some reason you MUST back up your ROM? Is it one of a kind?
Ok but i cant find this programs that works with WM6, i download them but i am getting error when try to backup.
Hello guys/gals
I made a huge mistake and i hope someone can help me out.I was using titanium backup and deleted some files by mistake.I believe one was the rom. When rebooting my device it boots then gets stuck on 4g screen.I have rooted my phone using unrevoked 3. When going into recovery i did a reset and finally i can get to my main screen but its blank. The only thing on top of the bar is the time, signal, gps icon and battery icon.I dont know where to download things and what flash means.
I know you guys are experts and i do greatly appreciate the help.By the way im a noob when it coms to rooting, roms, etc. So please put it in English easy way to fix.
Thanks in advance. If you can make it simple for me that would be better.
You can go to the app drawer and launch the market app. Download titanium backup from there. So long you didn't delete your backups, you should be able to restore your apps there. You will still need to manually set up your homescreens.
Get to duh choppa!
Deleted files
How can i access the market if no rom is on the phone. Its a blank screen. If i reboot using volume down and power i can see my sd card and there is titanium backup in there.Does nothing though.
You deleted your home launcher. Reinstall one via adb or flash zip. And next time do a nandroid before hand.
Deleted files
Thank you for helping. But again there is no screen. The only thing i can really do is go into recovery using the volume down button and pressing power.I really am stupid when it comes to how to flash, where to put it,adb shell. That is why i need kindergarten instructions. lol.
Shouldnt you just restore a nandroid..then go from there??
Evo - Myn 2.2 RLS 3 - Clockwork - HBoot .76
Assuming you didn't do a nandroid backup, you are going to need to reflash a rom. What rom you choose is up to you, but without holding the phone in hand, I cant really tell what you deleted. There are a number of things that could have done that. Also, for future reference, a rom is your entire operating system. You can't delete that from titanium backup, but you can delete many important components. Next time try the freeze function in titanium backup to see if removing that component breaks anything.
Did you try flashing the original rom over top of the one on the phone?
If you did a Nandroid before removing, then go into recovery and restore that backup.
What's your ROM?
Which Recovery are you using?
I done a noob thing!
Ok, so i like to think im fairly geeky and know what the hell im doing. but something tells me i fudged up pretty badly. I have Lg optimus T (LG P509) running rooted froyo (2.2). i flashed it to gingerbread 2.3 sometime ago but some errr lots of functions didnt work. i recovered back to stock 2.2. however i deleted and cleaned out my sdcard. heres the problem. LG had an open update via computer. and if its one thing i learned on these forums is to never recieve the OTA or loose root. I was hoping the OTA would be gingerbread 2.3. well it wasnt. it was froyo 2.2.2. and i lost root. i then rerooted using gingerbreak. yes 2.2.2 rooted. then used titanium backup to deleted stock apps and demo games. i somehow deleted my home funtion. on startup my screen is locked in android name. if i ever get pasted it i only have call options. my home button doesnt work. my LG updater on my computer wont reflash/reupdate/restore. in kindergarden terms is there anyway i can manually restore my phone to stock or any rom? and more importantly HOW????? sorry for the essay post
If you have a recovery go to that mount to your PC put a ROM on the root of your sd card and flash it that way make sure you wipe first hope that can help some what.
Sent from my PC36100 using XDA App
hey all,
Im sure this is a random spot for this but, since we dont have a home yet.
Im looking for a stock back up image (Titanium backup pro)with all apps and system settings. I think I may have cleared out a system file or two when cleaning out all the Tmo bloat.
Any help or other suggestions would be great.
You didnt make a backup before you started deleting things?
Titanium back up said that a back up had been created but none was there after reboot of phone. now all kinds of issues.. just need an image to try and get it back
I am talking about a nandroid backup. You shouldnt mess with anything until you make a backup in recovery.
ok so do you have a Nandroid backup image to offer as a way to get back up and running?
Really need some help on this, I'm sure some one out there has made a back up on titanium back up pro or a nandroid back up please contact me.
Still looking for someone with a titanium back up or Nandroid image
still need some help
the mytouch q currently has no way to boot into recovery that i know of. even if you do get the system backups you may have problems, i keep trying to restore mine with titanium but it does nothing. just shows a progress bar for hours and hours.
can you adb? On the lg c800 (mytouch q), adb reboot recovery will do a factory reset.
HELP!
NEED SYSTEM PROP FOR lg c800g mytouch q please reply need to fix force close on camera
Hello,
i have one question. I didnt find answer on this quest yet, so i ask here. I have ARHD 7.0.0 from mike (great job mike ) and in a short i want to update to 7.0.1 without superwipe. But i dont know, if i will loose my data, like apps, contacs sms or something else. Before this i flashed new rom only with superwipe tool.
I know its maybe stupid question, but i am still beginner and i am not sure, if i am right with many things. (and sory for my bad english sometimes ).
Thank you
You can just flash 7.01 over your existing 7.00, because it doesn't wipe anything on its own.
And if you want tro be sure, just make a nandroid backup via CWM before.
It will secure everything for 100%.
Thanks,
Good to hear this, i was bored with instaling apps and doing everything one more time, because i didnt use any backup app, that was mistake
Consider getting yourself a copy of Titanium Backup (or MyBackupPro, I think it's called).
You can schedule backups of everything you have, from SMS messages through to user apps and data, then restore after flashing.
I don't do that much ROM flashing myself, 1/month approx (I will eventually get to ARHD v7), but it's great to restore so easily
Ok, it seems to be good app fro doing backups and restores
Thank you for your advice, next time it will be easily to flash new ROM
I am looking forward to new version of ARHD!

be aware that once you flash a rom over (in your case 7.0.1 over 7.0.0) all your MODS (they aren't right now for ARHD 7, but for future records ) will be deleted
also if you removed some bbloatware software...it will be flashed again
so my advice
Get Titanium, as you already being advised and backup all aps
DO a NANDROID BACKUP (make this a regular job....it will save from a lot of mistakes that you will do ..trust me ..it happens)
Get familiar with ROM CLEANER from PATRIC83 thread....removes a lot of crappy htc software that you dont need
flash rom
flash rom cleaner
reboot
VOILA
