Low phone in-call volume - Touch Pro2, Tilt 2 Windows Mobile General

Hi,
I received my tp2 a fews days ago and i begin to play with it.
My previous phone was a TyTN2 (that i use every day too)
I find that up front speaker have a very low volume and it's very hard to ear the caller (no pb with TyTN2) even using max volume level.
Does some notice this problem ? Is there a registry tweak or a special config to unlock phone volume ?
Does SRS WOW HD works on tp2 ?
Thanks in advance
Moo

I, as well as some other people noticed this too. Let me ask you this question first: do you still have the factory screen protector on? If so, take a real close look at it. Took me a day of thinking the same way you did before I figured it out.

Thanks for your reply.
Yes I have removed original screen protector because on my first test I see that speker was behind the plastic protection. I have actually the screen protector which is given with tp2 package. I will try to install SRS WOW HD which give good improvement with my TyTN2.
Moo

Ok, it was worth a try. Don't know what to say, I find that the volume is more than adequate. The SRS WOW might overboost the wrong frequencies, unless you can adjust the midrange to compensate.
Good luck to you.

haha i was having the same problem till i realized the original protector that came with it was covering the speaker...

XDA takes a Swimming lesson - Watermarked screen

Hey everyone.
First i would like to say thanks for all your help over the last 6 months of my owning an XDA and lurking here.
yesterday i nearly cried. i actualy realise how much i have used my blue angel.
i was at work and it went for a swimming lesson. did the usual battery out and drying out with a hair drier. so the unit now starts up. however the screen is very watermarked and the touch screen appears to be effected.
Has anyone had any luck cleaning it up. or should i give up now and order a new one. I NEEEEEEEEED my XDA! i am a techno adict, sad i know but that PPC orginised my life! hehehehehehe
Thank you
Kim Watson
mate
if the unit is still functioning well and the ONLY problem you see is the watermark; you can opt to have only the screen/lcd changed. that's IF it's the only problem with the unit. charging? on/off? microphone? syncing?
cheers
ps: and in the end did your unit learn the backstroke?
not sure how much help its gonna be, but mine got wet and the touch screen seemed to shift its alignment a bit towards the bottom, a real pain in the arse using the keyboard. after about 2 weeks it sorted its self out.
For the water damage i believe you'd need to change the LCD panel, that in its self can cost a fair amount of money so it might be an idea to check if ur home insurance covers you, just dont what ever you do tell them its a phone!! only call it a PDA unless they ask for a spacific name, and even then dont say O2 makes it or who ever ur operator is, cuz they wont cover you otherwise!
thanks guys.
well priceing its gonna be cheeper to buy a new handset than a new LCD.
the main mother board didnt actualy get wet. the keyboard and the back of the LCD were the worst hit. thanks to the whole split screan thing. i think had this been the xda2 it may have survived.
the only question now is do i go in search of another blue angle... or do i bite the bullet and get the 2i. better camera definatly an attraction but the blueangel keyboard is fantastic if your using instant msn. ether way i have to wait till the middle of june because o2 wont let me have another one without paying full price even though my upgrade is a month away.
i love my XDA.....

[Q] Privacy Screen Protector??

I just got my E4GT and really love everything about this phone. There is only one inherent drawback to having a large beautiful screen, everyone elses' eyes seem to also lock on to it. Anyone have a suggestion for a privacy screen and any feedback on them? Thank you in advance...
Midget Porn
It took the screen manufacturers almost 20 years to get screens this beautiful and now people make money selling devices to reduce the visibility. I understand your concern but are you really doing anything on your phone that the casual observer is going to be able to be nosy about? Are you watching Midget porn on your device's big screen? I realize Midget porn has a lot of benefits, like taking up less storage space and automatically being formatted for the smaller screens.....Ok, think about it for a second. It is funny.

On a more serious note,
I recently ordered this privacy screen protector off on Amazon. It was the only real own I could find and the price was right. The shipment is supposed to come on the 22nd and I can post a review of it here once I get and install it if you want.
Link:
http://www.amazon.com/o/ASIN/B005S69CPK?tag=adapas02-20
PS. For some reason it was Prime enabled when I ordered it, but I doesn't look like it is anymore? Eh oh well.
Can you please post a review on this privacy screen protector. Does it cover left, right, top, bottom? hows the fitment? does it affect the touch screen? Post pic if you can too.
Thanks
Alright I've had it for a few days now ill post my full review.
As a screen protector, its a bit*h to install. You can't see the bubbles easily during the install so its hard to make sure you got them all without holding it in the right light. Next is that is doesn't quite fit the device. It could use about 2 more mm on the right side and the bottom, but if you center it up right during the install you probably wont notice. It does smug up with finger prints, but the nature of the screen protector makes it so you can only really see the smuges in the right light, so its not a big issue.
Now for the privacy part. First off if you got your Epic for its screen, walk away. The screen is noticeably darker and less brilliant. I got used to it pretty quickly but it is noticeable. It does do its job well of protecting your screen, as you can see here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AJT-wSelQmg&feature=youtu.be (Sorry about the music, I forgot to mute it lol, i hope you like Big B, also sorry about the quality, my best video camera is on the Epic) This does greatly increase privacy, but it does not do it to the "midget porn" level. If you wanna compare the video with your phone, I attached the image i used in the video.
Overall, I wish the screen was a little bit more brilliant, but for $4 this thing does it job well and I do not regret purchasing it.
EDIT: OH! And make sure you know where your touch buttons are at the button. With this protector on they all but disappear when the lights aren't on.
They suk ****. It will make your screen look terrible. I had one on for about 5 min B4 I peeled that crap off. Just my 2 cents.

Best Screen Protector

Hi All,
Currently have a One X, love the phone, apart from the battery life and the locked bootloader. However it has managed to "gain" two 1 cm scratches that are really quite deep and very visible.
So I now have a Blue S3 on order, due with me on Monday, and I don't want to find myself in the same boat in terms of screen scratches, I just can't deal with having the screen messed up (maybe I'm a bit OCD).
Anyway, to the moral of the story, can people please give me suggestions for the best screen protector for the S3, I want to protect but I don't want to take anything away from the screen, I remember putting a zagg on an iPhone 4s, and it took the edge of the clarity of the display, and I don't want that at all for the S3.
I have searched and can't find a similar thread, apologies if there is.
Help greatly appreciated.

What's the issue in trying one, but it's not a major thing to start a thread that too so big and huge

Hi, my s3 glass scratched within a week, thankfully around the home button, not the display & I'm pretty obsessively careful. I bought the otterbox commuter case and installed the included screen protector. I can see no effect on the brightness or clarity of the screen, but it was a bugger to get on right & only just covers the display area of the glass, leaving a lip that my finger catches on when I'm swiping from the edges of the screen. It's pretty annoying but I'll live with it for the protection, a bit like using a condom!

Jees, gotta love those folk who feel the need to take the time to post not 1, but 2 totally pointless and non helpful replies, when posting 1 helpful reply or adopting the "I have nothing good to say so I won't say anything" mantra would save him and everyone else the time.
I was hoping for a decent response, so I can order 1 now, so it arrives in time for the phone, which was Monday. So I don't have to go any time without protection, and get a scratch like 1 poster mentions.
IMO the best one is the clear one as i tried many, stay away from the matt or antiglare cause it cause a washed screen and dimmed colours.
They are selling it on ebay a pack of 6 for 3 pounds. hope that will help you
I've had done generic one which came with my case, a momax one and now I'm into a barely there.
The barely there is the best of the ones I've tried. It's matt finish so it does change the look of the screen slightly, it is a tiny but blurred now, but it's quite a small effect and once gotten used to it. The positive effects of using a matt protector are that my screen has no glare or reflection in the light now, making it easier to read when a light source is shining onto it. Also, while the glossy ones quickly become covered in fingerprints, they are quite hard to spot in this one.
It seems to be of decent strength and thickness. Have me a slightly better overlap in the edges than the first two I tried. Worked out cheaper as well ... for a twin pack for the same price as the one momax.

Matte screen protector
I ordered a matte protector for my S3.
Looked and felt really nice, kept finger prints off, but at the end of the day after a week or so i wanted to look at the screen with nothing on it at all. Looks far better.
Maybe a sock or something to keep it in is better than a protector ??

I think the best so far is the sgp nano clear.

Build quality / home button

Hi everyone,
since I have heard something about build quality issues, I wanted to ask you guys and see if these issues just concern very few phones or whether these are actually widespread problems.
So, can all of you HTC 10 owners please check and answer these questions:
Did your phone come with scratches on the display or the aluminium part out of the box?
Is the home button loose/or moving somehow if you apply pressure? (I know it is a capacitive button, but I read that some said it is somehow loose when being used sometimes)
Is the home button prone to scratches or abrasions from permanent/long-term usage? The reason is that the home button has a texturized surface, which I assume to rub off over time with constant usage.
Thank you very much for helping me guys! I really want this phone, but am afraid of these build quality issues.
1. No
2. No
3. Not that I've noticed in the month or so that I've had my phone.

1. I had a small Nick on the album body at the top next to the headphone jack. Also a small scratch on that plastic strip at the top of the phone as well. Other than that the phone was spotless.
2. No
3. No, though I'm not quite sure what you mean by permanent usage.

I meant that the texturized surface might rub off over time in the long term.
Just edited my first post as well to clarify this.

Yes. It's loose from the center to the left. I can push it and when I do so, I hear some crunchy noises. But... You don't need to push it to unlock you phone because the fingerprint scanner.
I don't think so. The surface seems to be quite resistant.
But the loose home button bugs me.

My home button does wiggle around a bit. Nothing too serious though. The fingerprint sensor works fine so I guess it's okay.
How do you figure out that it wiggles. I barely lay a finger on it so I don't think I would ever notice. Unless there's some significant looseness to it I guess?

Haha. I don't really feel it. It's just that it looked a bit tilted. So I pressed it a bit on the right side (very lightly, like you would when tapping your screen but like didn't remove it for a second) and it moved to one side. Even now when I look at it, it seems a bit off. It's minor but it's there.

Screen unlocking during calls

I got my View 20 recently and I'm having a problem with screen unlocking during calls. The speaker is roughly at a 45 degree angle and I think so is the proximity sensor. And it only recognizes objects that are very very close to it. In other words unless I have the phone pressed against my ear (not touching or close to, actually pressed against it) it unlocks the screen during call, the notification panel opens up and I activate things I don't wanna activate... Once just as a test I made a short phone call and I made sure to keep the top of the phone pressed against my ear at all times and somehow it still unlocked the screen and the notification panel was open...
To make things even worse, because the angle is so weird I have to keep the phone lower than I'm used to (or comfortable with) and the bottom of the phone is way below my mouth which is bad too.
It's a real issue and I don't know what I can do to fix it. Please help me.
(And just as a side note I can't believe no one has mentioned this in ANY review - even if the screen doesn't unlock for them, the angle of the speaker is still weird and to hear the sound well you have to hold the phone lower than normally. It IS significant and I have no idea why this hasn't come up in any review or opinion on the internet).

Or maybe I just a defective phone? Could other owners of View 20 say if their phones are fine?
It's not a fault... The sensor is on the top of the device instead of the front/screen so it happens... Poor design choice that's all.
Same problem noticed since day 1, found also no solution yet.
very disappointing.

Yeah, except it's not pointed upwards, it's pointed at a roughly 45 degree angle, so it should still work more or less fine. Maybe less fine than forward-facing sensor but still ok. And I doubt that thousands (millions?) of people who bought that phone experience the same problems and no one has mentioned it yet.
I'm on the second view 20... Sent first one back as I didn't like the warmish tint on the screen... Second one has a much cooler tone... Both do this with calls and my brother also has a view 20 and he has the same issue... Mine was from Amazon and he got his from carphone warehouse.
