Hi,
I recently noticed that my bluetooth transfer fails for some reason. I couldn't figure out why and when.
I tried transferring a file from a Nokia handset and it failed. Then I tried sending a file to the same handset. And It worked. I thought may be resetting both the devices would help but it didn't.
Next I tried sending and recieving on a Laptop. It worked flawlessly.
I tried sending a Small file from a Samsung e740. It worked but when I tried to send a Big file such as a SONG. It failed. I tried resetting both the Devices. and It worked. I tried again using a bigger file and it transferred.
Last, I tried using a HTC P3400i and it failed badly. I couldn't send the file nor could I recieve the file. I tried resetting both the devices. and Still it didn't work ..
Can someone tell me what is happening .. Is my phone dyeing or something ?
Bluetooth failing at randome ??
P.S. I've noticed that I am not able to send any files to NOKIA handset most of the times. It just displays a transaction failed message.
If this helps. I am listing all the apps related to bluetooth that are there on my HTC P3300
1. Chi-Tai Dang HomeScreen PlusPlus
2. Total Commander
3. hc4 ObexInboxEx ( without this files are stored on the internal memory)
4. HouMing File Explorer Extension ( I don't think if this can cause an issue)
btw.. I recently upgraded my GSM ROM to 3.34.90. Could this be an issue ?
I was on a very old ROM (it was something like 2.x.x) before and it was having problems when connecting to GPS.
I don't want to perform a complete clean-up of my device. I hope there is some alternate to it
Thanks

i think you are using lovebabyjing's wm6.5 which is a wonderful rom but has some issues with bluetooth. yes you can receive files from other device through bluetooth. after you activate your bluetooth and set to discoverable you also need to check the beam from the connection settings then it can already receive. just try and wish you luck...
ok i think that the problem is with bb bc i have try with other brands and mines right now is working i get an error saying like obex is not ready or not compatible also please be sure that when you are receiving the bt file from a bb you have to go to the media payer and then meny and go to the option that said receive file or something like that i do that but get an error
my problem is sending files to the bb

Me too........
I just bought Rhodium after my Kaiser, upgrade to 6.5 and find bluetooth sending file issue (It couldn`t send files via BT on wm 6.1, either). I was searching through a forum a couple hours and didn`t find a answer. First of all, everything on my Kaiser worked perfect, including bluetooth, so I expect a same with TP2. In the meanwhile, my wife bought Diamond2 and she also had a bluetooth sending files issue just like me today with my TPro2. Devices get paired, and when I send file, connection broke and failed. Any idea, I want my device to do everything what it made for. And yeah, i turn on the BT, make visible to other devices, etc...
I forgot to mention, when sending file failed, mesagge says: "File xxxx not sent - invalid request". WTF!?
(SOLVED)Bluetooth sending files issue, help
Hard reset, as allways. I backup everything except system data settings, did hard reset, restore backup, thats it - cach was that com ports and file transer checking fields were lost and you got to check them all to proper work of BT.
same here but when i try to send any type of images like jpg or gif...its still sending even the image size around 10kb..damn it...but the videoes or any other file type size over 1mb send it perfectly..
still wondering about the solution...
hi i have a htc touch pro2 from us cellular and im having a problem running emulators on my phone. Ive tried running now both the pocketgba and the pocketgnuboy and i keep getting the same error for both. The error is "The file 'Pocketgnuboy' cannot be opened. Either it is not signed with a trusted certificate, or one of its components cannot be found. If the Proble persists, try reinstaling or restoring the file." Ive saved both of them to my SD card and im not sure if thats the problem.
So if anyone can help and show me what to do to fix this problem and how to do install etc. then it would be greatly appreciated thankxx..
Thread moved to correct section.
I'm pretty sure others will help out soon with advice re. app unlocking (or whatever it is called on modern devices), or sdkcerts or similar, however that error message rings a bell for a different reason... On my previous phone I was using a util to alter shortcut's properties (sorry, it was a while ago now, but the specifics won't matter.) Upon seeing the error msg, I was initially convinced I had somehow restored the phone to it's original status of not trusting unsigned CABs, or not allowing certain software. HOWEVER, I eventually noticed that running the EXEs directly (File Explorer/Resco Explorer/Total Commander) meant the apps would work fine, it was just the start menu's shortcuts that gave that error, but not even on all shortcuts.
Short version, while you wait for a more knowledgeable person to come along and guide you through the more likely/common issues, is try navigating to \program files\YOUR APP NAME\your_app_name.exe , run it. If the program works fine, all you'll need to do is navigate to \windows\start menu\ and delete the non-functioning shortcut, and create a new one.

I tried 4 different devices and also I tried using different device with other operating system like Symbian and BB but still not accepting any file transfer.
That's odd. What kind of file are you trying to transfer? Sometimes I notice it's picky on the type of file it accepts but not all files
I'm trying to transfer an apk file because I'm not connected to wifi at the moment. Trying to get a file manager to install apps. After I encountered problem with the apk file, I tried sending mp3 and videos but no luck. is there anything that I need to do? I tried reflashing the Rom but still have the same issue.
Hi,
I have this problem when trying to send files to my friend's phone via bluetooth. Everytime I select a file and send it it says 'unable to send' or 'sending failed' or something like that but my friend can send files to me and I can recieve them no problem.
To try to send files I go into settings, turn on bluetooth, make my device visible, and pair it to my friend's phone. I can pair the phones but when I try to share a file I keep gettin that error. Am I doing something wrong? Is there another step involved in the process?
Thanks!
What ROM's are the phones running?
AOSP cannot NFC share/transfer files with ICS. One uses bluetooth to transfer and the other WiFi direct, from what I've heard/read.
