I was curious if anybody happens to know if its possible to disable automatic landscape mode when connected with the tv out cable.
I use my tv out option mostly when hosting poker games. Great for using Poker Clock blind timer app displayed to a tv. I also like using the new Slacker radio app. However that and other apps have lack of good landscape support making it difficult to use the tv out option with some programs.
I looked with no luck through the registry.
Anybody??
I have found a registry tweak that works perfectly for me in tv out mode!
1) Change your registry to enable screen rotation:
HKLM - System - GDI - Rotation - HideOrientationUI (Change from 1 to 0)
2) Then, simply map your phone button long press to the rotation tweak:
Settings -> Buttons -> Map with <Rotate Screen>
3) When you would like to rotate your screen, just hold your Phone button.

Thank you for this post.
Excellent!
I tried this and it worked really well for me
I notice that UTube does a load in background on initial reboot slowing loading and lots downloading..
Uninstall it and reboot this will stop preload as it is not part of ‘Data Plans’
My suggestion is to make a 'Link' to the UTube website rather than use the App
***No company of any program has the right to download data without your Auth unless you are using a Widget..***
Making a Link:
1. Open Browser (while in page on desktop you want shortcut to be made on)
2. Load page m.youtube.com
3. Add to Bookmarks
4. Open Bookmarks while in browser
5. Long-Press Bookmark
6. Select 'Add Shortcut to Home'

How do I edit cmdline switches in the Startup.txt folder so I can for example, turn on the external speaker for android 2.1 development. Below are the changes I am looking to edit. I read these on the FAQ of the Android Project Development page for HTC Touch Pro 2 (sorry I cannot input link to page yet)
Thanks for any help/steps
Screen Settings - lcd.density=240 - We use 240 for Rhodium Screens
Turn off on-screen debug keyboard - msmvkeyb_toggle=off
Configure gsensor - gsensor_axis=2,1,3 - For Rhodiums
Sleep mode debug - pm.debug_mask=2 - Vibrates phone lightly after it exits deep sleep
Force RIL to CDMA for non-GSM Rhodiums - force_cdma=1
Physical Keyboard Layout Switches - physkeyboard=rhod400 - Sprint Keyboard - physkeyboard=rhod500 - Verizon Keyboard
Enable Hardward 3D - hw3d.force=1
Enable External Speaker - external.rhod_speaker=1 - Keep in mind this is for debugging
Enable Proximity Sensor - board-htcrhodium-proximity.on=1
Enable Wake on Proximity Sensor - board-htcrhodium-proximity.wake=1
Set Android directory - rel_path=directory - Set directory to where you are storing your installation
Turn off Low Battery Warning - htc_battery_smem.fake=1
Control In Call Sound (IN CALL ONLY)
htc_hw.call_vol = x
x can be 0-5, 0 lowest and 5 loudest obviously. Default level is 5.
Overclock capabilities - acpuclock.oc_freq_khz=XXXXXX - Replace X's with frequency in Khz not Mhz.
You have to enter speeds in Khz though so
540672 = 528Mhz Stock speed
716800 = 700Mhz
786432 = 768Mhz Reported to be stable
Sleep Modes: (pm.sleep_mode=) in the startup.txt
This is supposedly for topaz/rhodium that I found on the xda wiki:
* '4' will do "wait for interrupt", no change in arm11's clock or voltage
* '3' will do "wait for interrupt and ramp clock", the arm11's clock is lowered to 20MHz instead of 300-500, and voltage is lowered too.
* '2' will do "app sleep", arm11 is still on, but put into low power mode (registers are still saved)
* '1' and '0' will totally power off the arm11 (so we have to restore registers and things ourself), don't know the differences between them.
This should be posted in the android section...

After a great success of ProximtyScreenOffLite (more than 68,000 downloads) I decided to take all the feedback and feature requests by users and improve the features and quality of the app.
Pro Features:
Pocket/Flip or Smart Cover Mode: Turns screen OFF when sensor covered and ON when uncovered. (Feature requested by Galaxy Note users)
Turn Screen On/Off with following gestures:
Swipe Once,
Swipe Twice,
Swipe and Hold,
Hold and Swipe and
Cover and Hold
Ignore Apps list: Add the apps/games where you want to disable the service
Widget: to start and stop the service
ScreenOff shortcut: to turn off the screen by launching the app.
Sensor Configuration : Based on your device select the sensor of your choice, or the one that's available and configure their values, as they are different for different devices.
Enable screen on/off during calls only
Disable call handling completely
Battery saving options: De-Activate sensors after timeout and De-Activate sensors when power button pressed or system goes idle.
Override power button and screen-on by other apps (Phone is in pocket and you get a call or you accidentally press the power button, screen will remain off)
Prevent accidental screen on
Vibration on screen On/Off

:thumbup::thumbup: Exaxtly what I was looking for. Now I can go back to Rootbox, before stock touchwiz was the only rom that allowed me to disable proximity sensor during calls. Aosp roms always would leave it on, and cause the screen to get stuck off until the other person hung up, or I somehow finagled to unlock the screen long enough to hang up. Thank you for this, you are awesome, Lol.

Enable to option to let android handle the proximity sensor in calls then in the phones settings disable proximity sensor in calls...
TP.
Rootbox doesn't have that option. That's why I wanted to use this app. Guessing this app can't leave the screen on?
light sensor vs proximity sensor, in term of battery life, which is the best?
Hey I've got a question because I'm not sure if this is just me or if anyone has had this but whenever I have screen on set for 2 swipe, sometimes it feels like it actually takes 3 swipes to get it on. Sometimes when I do the 2 swipes the screen doesn't turn on so I do a third swipe, and that makes the screen come on but then it turns off again right away? Is there some sort of delay that I should adjust or is it all just in my head? Lol. I seriously love this app either way though and I was happy to donate because this app instantly covered every single problem that all of the similar apps had that I've tried. I'm SO glad I found this app!

it works like a charm...... awsome awsome app....
can u design a similar air gesture app for picking up calls..... like swipe and pick call on loudspeaker....
I found many apps in market none works properly Atleast for my HTC wildfire s...
proximity action works but it doesn't have option for picking up calls.... but comparatively your apps worked smoothly just add feature for picking up calls on swipe it would be a hit..!!!
