Dorothy web browse based on safari webkit amazingly fast - Touch HD Themes and Apps

hi everyone i find this on the web, and i try it after a few minutes of browsing with this new web browser, i just have one thing to say this dorothy browser is AMAZINGLY FAST more than skyfire, more than opera 9.5, i think the speed can be compare to opera 9.7 but with no compress pages, you have the sames pages as you can have on an iphone.
It still a beta version, the srolling is not really smoth as opera 9.5/9.7 but i think the next release will improve it, i hope because we have a great app here please try this and judge by yourself.

Skyfire vs Opera

What do you thing about Skyfire?
I think its really faster with loading an entire page, but if you want to browse fast and have a bad connecting its bad.
On Opera you could stop loadíng a page if you see what you want to see...this is impossible on skyfire...this really sucks...
Altoutgh scrolling on large pages them to be much smoother on Opera...
Mhm what do you think?
Ill keep testing them

I like them both! I love the SkyFire default page, that integrates my gmail, facebook, twitter and RSS feeds in one timeline. I also appreciate that flash works properly.
One thing I struggle with is that, as SkyFire renders the page for a desktop PC then pumps it to the phone, often the text columns are too wide to view, even when zoomed out fully. For pages like these, Opera is best.
I think that most advanced users will want to install both browsers. On my PC, I have chrome and firefox, depending on what I'm doing. Same thing for my phone I guess.
Non-advanced users? Well, what are you doing on XDA-Devs?
I really like both.
Skyfire love the home page with Gmail and other feeds. Also flash works. However I wish they'de sort out the scrolling, and zooming.
If it scrolled smother / faster and zoomed better it'd be my browser of choice.
As a result I mainly use Opera, but do use both. I'm certainly keen to keep an eye on updates from both.
To be honest, one needs all three browsers: IE, Opera and Skyfire.
Here's my break down:
- Opera is first choice for regular browsing. Loads fast and renders pages in the most intuitive way for mobile device. Most eye candy on web pages is also well rendered (except for video)
- Skyfire. I don't like the interface and I one is constantly scouring the page to find what one is looking for.
However, it is the BEST browser to browse feature rich pages and pages with video such as Youtube.
- IE. So what do I use IE for?? 1) Sometimes when in hotels with a complementary WiFi connection, you have to log in and the provider somehow only recognises the IE browser. 2) My Favorites are linked to IE. e.g when getting in my car the first thing I do is check for speed traps. I have linked a hardware button to a list of my favorites. Being in the car (and probably already driving.......) I don't want to fiddle around with the screen, zooming in etc. In IE you can fix the zoom level and therefore get an instant overview of the info that matters without major distraction.
Hope this helps people.
Y i agree with you, one more thing to add with IE, only one that support certificates. So using my online BANK service for example so i can jut transfer money anywhere directly from my mobile phone
I just wish the three browsers could combine into a super browser... I love the feeds on the homepage of Skyfire, however navigating through menus is slooooow whereas on Opera once you touch it, it loads the menu (for bookmarks, history, settings, etc.). Also the flash working on Skyfire is a huge plus, but scrolling and zooming is terrible. Opera Mobile 10 Beta has the best scrolling/zooming I've experienced. Opera Mobile 9 isn't as smooth but better than Skyfire. The advantages of IE of couse as others have stated, compatibility reasons... I normally use Opera, but sometimes I switch over to Skyfire, but end up being annoyed at how slow menus work, and go back to Opera. If I had to stick with one I'd say Opera 10 Beta has been the best for me. Even allowed me to use the facebook chat feature within the browser which I can never get to run smooth in Skyfire.
I quite like Skyfire, although you have to wait until the whole page has been rendered & then sent to you. So it's a bit slow in that respect. But it always renders a page as you'd see on your PC - Opera does not always do that, to my annoyance.
What I CANNOT understand is why Skyfire takes so long to open up the favourites page (it's on the phone, right? - or is it??)
I do most of my browsing on Opera (9.7), but occasionally use Iris...

Favorite browser?

Whats you favorite web browser? i have Dolphin, xscope, firefox and skyfire installed
That's overkill. lol I'm very happy with the Dolphin HD browser. I love the tabs, the tools, and the add-ons. I haven't even tried any other browser because I've been so happy with this one.
I use Stock Browser on Sense. I stopped using it because of the reflow crap, but someone on this board released a flashable version of the browser with that disabled, so now im loving it!
And sometimes I use the MIUI browser too, just because it has full screen support. Stock browser does too, but whenever loading different pages, it pulls the notification bar down while the MIUI browser keeps all of that up until you press the menu button.
I always preferred stock, but im diggin Firefox.
I read a review of Skyfire 2.0 that said it was the best browser out as far speed and proper page rendering. I have not tried it yet myself. Also Opera mobile 10.1 for android is supposed to be released tomorrow(9th). Ask me again on Wednesday and I will let you know then which is my favorite. Right now I am leaning towards Skyfire 2.x as it is supposed to allow you to view embedded video that the other browsers won't play.
Just tried Firefox, and I can't stand it. I like using Chrome and Firefox for Windows, but they got some work to do on that. Loading websites, pinchzoom, and ease of use are horrible.
I love the stock browser, and the MIUI Charming browser is growing on me. I like it more than anything at this point.
Skyfire FTW. Best browser hands down in my opinion. zooming and moving around through pages is much more fluent than Dolphin or Stock for that manner.. Mozilla is just garbage. Also skyfires quick access to the feature letting you choose between "desktop, android, or iphone" viewing modes makes browsing quicker and easier
my thoughts
I have tried skyfire, fennec, dolphin and dolphin HD, and opera. wanted to try xscope but im not paying for it no way! out of all of them i found the stock browser to work the best and opera came in second it was faster than all the other 3 party browsers and had nice easy to use tabs but after installing myn's i never re-downloaded it. happy with stock browser.
I do like the opera browser but one thing that bothered me is I had problems downloading from sites that were setup like megaupload, fileserve, rapidshare. These sites would be very buggy and acted weird not letting me download the files I was trying to get (roms, and movies). Usually the counter you had to wait for would bug out or the link would never appear/work. So until that is fixed I've been sticking with Stock.

What browser do you all use and which one do you consder the best?

Use miren browser with tegrak kernel. Best experience ever
Miren Browser Enhanced Copy-Paste
xScope - best paid browser IMO!
i've tried every browser possible for the past 2 days because i was looking for alternatives myself.
i ended with this conclusion personally:
free - dolphin browser mini
paid - xScope
i'm using xScope now because it's pretty minimalistic and it's quite fast a browser especially with many tabs opened!
I did a very quick test of free browsers, only set HOME page, open, close, choose Skyfire...
Miren browser. Gives me full screen browsing.
Miren Browser

Retested Miren, I didnt like the way it shows gmail, probably customizable, didnt have time to check, but it is much faster, so of went Skyfire...
I was using skyfire, but after trying Miren for a small while I might switch gunna need to see if I can change a few things like I have with skyfire but so far I like
From my GTi9000
Frankly I dont think the screen is large enough for "standard" browser stuff, only use it rarely, I prefer specialized apps, like FotMob Soccer Scores, Google Maps, etc...
Even with reading glasses...
So speed is the most important factor for me...
uu, nice sugestions, thanks, keep them coming i will try them all, it doesnt matter if its paid or free as long as its good
after following this thread. i'm tied up between Miren and xScope.
both are equally fast with nice simplistic interfaces. shall keep both and see how they develop. xScope is my main browser still!
I want something that wouldn't lag while playing mafia wars on facebook. Any suggestions!?!?
skyfire the best free..... or xScope the best not free
dolphin bowser mini here
Love the stock on the sgs. But I also use Miren a lot when I need to use multiple tabs.
I wish the stock browser had better tab switching. But Miren is great thought it has a few bugs.
Ain't no browser is better than Stock i9000 browser..
Firefox is too slow, Opera can't show some pages in right order.. Miren, Dolphin and other browsers from asia are useless because of too many controls and bars on display.. I wanna browse the page, not just staring at URL bar and so..
So for me, the stock browser has no compete
The only problem of stock browser is that you can't download some files.

Best Browser for CM9

Any suggestions, please.
Dolphin HD
Chrome
Boat
Well this comes down to personal preference but how you want to view webpages will affect what browser you might choose. My personal OPINION is that the Chrome browser is overrated and a memory hog to top it off. The stock browser is OK in certain aspects but if you want to download files from webpages you might run in to issues running it "as is". One benefit of the stock browser though is the ability to render your web viewing in black and white.
If you don't mind simplistic web viewing (mobile view) than Opera Mini is a very good contender.
My one suggestion would be just find one YOU like by trying them out. Different people have different opinions so whatever works best for you. I use different browsers for different internet tasks ex: downloading files, writing on forums, watching videos etc.
Example browsers you could try: Dolphin, Opera, Firefox, Skyfire, Boat, UC, Amazon Silk, Chrome,
Yeah it just depends on your personal preference. I have tried a few browsers I like. Opera, Maxthon, and Chrome are pretty good. Personally my favorite is Dolphin. If you install Dolphin Browser + Dolphin Jetpack it makes browsing super fast!

Thanks for the input, I have been looking for new browsers as well. I have only tried Chrome and it works pretty well, will need to give Dophin a try.
Thank You all for responding, will try some of the browsers suggested.
I was just pondering this subject myself. :silly:
I've found the tab syncing in chrome very handy, other than that it seems over-rated I like the stock browser's look and it has a cool full screen mode with a pretty nifty quick controls option that replaces the address bar and controls with a side swipe thumb menu. sadly I haven't found a good option for flash compatibility.
Chrome is the best browser in my opinion. I really love the minimal/clean look that transitions well between the mobile and desktop versions of Chrome. And it's faster that all the other browsers I've tried. It does use a bit more RAM than other browsers but 512 mb is more than enough to multitask with it.

please advise me alternative to opera..

i love the "single column view" feature of opera bcs it just make every website accurately fits the screen but it drains battery a lot...so pls tell me some good alternative to opera which has similar kind of feature.....
Dont know what feature that is, but the most popular browsers, are Dolphin HD and Google Chrome...

i have not tried these browsers so pls tell me do these browsers make the website page fitting to the screen automatically as the page opens?
Opera rocks, I still use it for daily browsing.
Although I do have Dolphin (for view websites with a desktop view), Chrome (Pretty fast) and latest Firefox, that is also awsome.
Anyway, for me, still the best is Opera, at least for daily use :cyclops:
