Can i load an rom from my internal memory? like they do with the memory card on the Xperia.

You should read before you post. Especially before opening a new thread. The answer is yes - but you could have read the wiki first!!!!

Hello all,
I have seen instructions for backing up the OS ROM of a device, and these seem to involve specifying the memory range to be dumped from the ROM to the SD card.
My question is this:
Is the memory range to be dumped the same for every device?
I have a Hermes, and have seen instructions for Universal and Himalaya.
Would the instructions for Hermes backup be exactly the same?
Thanks, in advance.
I don't normally like to bump threads, but no one's answered this in 13 days and 100 views...
Is there anyone who can quickly answer this for me, please?
Thanks.
hi guys...i'm a newbie at flashing rom and I was wondering if someone can give me somehelp with these questions:
1. what's the best rom...i refer to speed, signal strainght and a bit of futures..
2. I've seen this rom "http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=400452" that sais "45mb total storage memory/ 25mb free program memory"...what does that mean, wich memory it refers to??I ask this because when I look into my Artemis under settings\device info\hardware it sais flash size: 128mb, but storage size:37.63mb..
3. what's the difference between flash mem and storage mem??
thank you in advance to everyone who answers

As I have said on other threads this is down to personal preference. If you are looking for a fast wm6.5 you probably want to look at Shadys Rom. Not sure about 6.1 but there are plenty of lite roms out there to try. Signal strength is determined by the Radio Rom this is separate to the Phone Rom. There is a thread floating about already but in short it varies from person to person.
If you go to start -> settings -> system -> memory (under the main tab) you will see some numbers. Essentially most people are bothered about the program free memory as it allows you to run more/more demanding apps.
I think (I am sure someone will correct me) the flash size of your memory card and the storage is how much is free?
Hope that helps
hi a_lai82..thank you for the answers, really thank you...
the thing about those memory questions is that I didn't have any memory card in the phone at that time, so all that it showed me is what's in the phone, that's why I wanted a clarification...

Hi,
first of all you must upgrade your device to 2.2 then automatically the allowed application can be moved on sd.

First of all, I think you posted in the wrong subforum. This should be in Q&A I think...
Second, since you are not rooted, you will not be able to move all apps to sd, only if the developer of the app has programmed the app to be moved. Check out SD move: http://www.appbrain.com/app/sdmove/com.beaglebros.SDMove. It shows you all the apps that can be moved.
Concerning the t-mobile, I don't know. Check whether you have updates then you'll know...
-edit- move to SD only works on 2.2 though...
Moved to Q&A

Hi everyone, I have a Samsung j3 2016 running lineageos 14.1 and I have some questions about the adaptive storage thing. I've read lots of posts but I still don't understand if I'm having a bug or just not understanding how it works.
Basically how I get it is you plug the compatible SD card format as internal and forget about it. You now have a shared pool of storage that shows as Internal+SD GB
But why do some apps not download and the play store gives me a "not enough storage" error when some directly install to the SD card? And why do the two show up as separate in settings even after formatting as internal.
I don't get it at all, even when I try to migrate some data from the internal memory to the SD card I get a "not enough storage" error.
How it looks like https://unsee.cc/ee998daa
Am I doing something wrong? Should I format everything and try again?
I asked on the j3 lineage thread and someone told me my SD card was in read only but the apps installed on it run perfectly
Thank you

I don't have this device but, your best bet is to post this question within the following Official LineageOS 14.1 thread that's specific to your device and variants for support and guidance.

Good Luck!

UNLESS asked to do so, PLEASE don't PM me regarding support. Sent using The ClaRetoX Forum App on my SM-G900T device.
Good question. And I don't think it is device specific. I think, the adopted storage works as expected in your description. If you find answers for "why", pleas post here.
I asked there first but i didn't get an answer, I guess I'll try again and of course post any updates.
Thanks for the help.
