Question on Profiles/system volume/radio - Touch HD Themes and Apps

Hi, I've not had my HD for long but have managed to set it up alright.
I do however have a question on how to manage profiles and system/ring volumes etc.
What I want is really just to have two modes: Normal, where all sounds/notifications play normally, and silent mode, where the phone just vibrates when anything happens.
So normal mode seems fine, but I'm trying to customise the settings of the silent/vibrate mode so that whenever anything happens on the actual phone, it will just vibrate, but when I want to listen to the radio or anything through the earphones, it will keep playing.
When I select "vibrate mode" it turns all volumes to zero, but then I cannot hear anything through the radio! So in Advanced I changed it to never play any sounds, and then turned system volume to 100%, but there is no option to then save it anywhere, as then when I click on Normal and then Vibrate again, the system volume is back at 0%.
Basically, I want to set it so that I can have the phone be silent alerts/calls wise, but still let me listen to the radio/MP3s through the headphones, and to have a profile set up where I can select that! That shouldn't be too difficult surely! But "normal" is the only one which will let you keep System Volume at anything other than 0%
Please help? thanks!

I have the same problem! Can someone help. please?

Sound to Vibrate Hack?

Does anyone know of a Hack/crack, or app that allows any sound to be turned into a Vibration.
I have a Timer app, and I want it to Vibrate and not soundoff when it reaches zero, but I only makes sound, tired putting to phone on vibrate, but it doesnt work for that app.
Any ideas?
Thanks

Wired headset profile (change volume/ring when unplugging)

Hi,
I can't seem to find a simple solution for this.
I usually use my phone in vibrate mode(Rings volume 0%, System volume 0%, ring type vibrate)
but i would like a simple solution for this:
- when I plug in my wired headset i want to set the ring volume to 20%, system volume 20%, and ring type from vibrate to a ringtone
- when i unplug the headset I want the device to immediately go back to ring volume 0%, system 0%, and ringtype: vibrate (especially beacuse if I listen to music on headset, and accidentally pull it out, it'll play that music through the speaker very loud)
So is there a simple solution for this? Maybe a simple profile changer or something? I know there is PhoneAlarm and other programs but they're not free and they can do just too much thing for my simple need.
Thx.
did you find anything, looking for exact same think.

I know this is an old thread, but I'm still looking for something that does exactly this. I've found apps that can change the state when I plug the headphones, but nothing for when I unplug them.
Any ideas out there?

[Q] Default tone on every start up (and shut down)

Hi All,
I personally dis-like the start up tone motorola picked for it's Defy (and the shut down tone).
Is there way can be modified to other of my downloaded tone or make it silent when starting up the phone every day ?
Thanks a lot.
edmond
disable sdcard notifications
You can download Silent Boot from the market.
Or copy the sounds you want to /system/media/audio/xxxx (whatever folder), remember to set permissions similar to the other files and then reboot. The problem is the sdcard is not mounted yet when it tries to play the sounds.
Thanks to ALLLLLLLLLLLL,
I did not know this is sound relate to the SD card when mounted.
I did that just to un-check the sound in the SD card notification.
Thanks again!

I have SD card notifications turned off. My phone boots silently, but it still plays a loud and annoying beep when I switch it off. Is there any way to fix this?
Try installing Silent Boot from the market; It works for shut down too, despite its name.
Can it also kill that horrible beep that sounds every time I unplug the USB cable? That doesn't involve booting or shutting down my phone.
No, but you could use any program that allows you to set the System volume.
So that's were that horrible beep is hidden. Thanx. I silenced it with Quick Settings.
Do you know how can kill the beep that plays when I push the volume rocker? The visual volume indication is enough for me.

Need help with a question!

I was wondering if there were a way that when I plug my headphones in that it wont automatically change the volume down.
Also is there a way that when my phone starts ringing that it wont start low and then get louder? Like the first ring will be lower than what follows. I just want it all the same. THANKS!
anybody? i hate that it does these things!
Tasker can do all of that, but takes some work.
I know in settings under sound or calls you can adjust the progressive ring feature. As far as head phones go it is a built-in safety precaution.

Randomly Increasing Audio Volume

I don't know why this is, but it's frustrating beyond explanation: Every once in a while the volume of my device changes. This is not an "official" change, as I always have this thing at the lowest volume possible, but every once in a while after a reboot or just out of nowhere, that lowest volume most definitely becomes louder. I'm accustomed to a low volume, so for my notification and ringtone to suddenly be louder always startles the hell out of me.
I cannot figure out why this is, and I realize the number of things that could be causing this is dependent on what apps I have which are far too numerous to list, so I'm hoping someone else has had this problem and knows the solution.
Thank you all in advance
Cm12 has a setting in sounds and notification that gradually increases volume over time. If you're on sense there is a setting that increases the volume if the phone is in your pocket or turned face down.

Unfortunately this isn't it - I have "Pocket mode" and "Quiet ring on pickup" both unchecked (unrooted, stock). I also thought it might be somehow tied to Media volume, as the app I notice this primarily in is Google Hangouts (that's about the only sound-notification I get outside phone calls), but that's at a vol of 1 along with everything else.

I have no idea then. I had volume issue with hangouts in particular in the past but it was from the volume being to quiet. Maybe try a different ringtone for it. I'm not sure what else to suggest.
