Hi,
I linked some contacts with facebook (Not with the "Facebook app"), but the standard linkage that comes with the phonebook.
How do I check/set when it should automatically update the info, ie: picture, status etc.?
Thanks
As far as I know you can only have it update in 2hr intervals or manually, to switch between these two options
SF3D Contacts
--> All People
--> 3rd Icon at the bottom of the Contacts page( 'Man hiding behind a clock')
--> Menu
-->Data Connectrion setting
Exactly what I was looking for, thanks !
Wondering if interval of updates can be manually set by registry tweaks. I even tried to find where it can be but found nothing yet...
Anyone know why I suddenly don't have the third icon at the bottom? It was there before...
Whenever I try to link people to my Facebook account it doesn't work either, it just goes back to the contact info page
Did you install a background on all tabs cab? some of them screw up facebook integration. There is a fix for it out there.
Yeah, I have that installed. Could you give me the link to the post with the fix or maybe the fix itself?
Here is the fix.

I am trying to sync all my contacts to gmail/facebook but I have to manually go into each contact and click the link icon (I have the names exactly right too). If I click on link the suggestion is there but I want it to be automatic. Is there a way to do it?
I also saw an annoyance that when syncing with facebook it adds all contacts phone numbers which you can remove them by changing the view options but they still show in search - how annoying!! Couldn't see any work around for this on the other threads...?
Hi Everyone,
I've searched high and low for a solution to this, but haven't had any luck. Is anyone aware of a way to disable the Facebook calendar sync to my Google calendar?
Specifically looking to remove the entries for "friend's" birthdays.
Thanks!
Don't sync your Facebook contacts or the solution below.
Or, to actually answer the OPs question: Just open the calendar app, go to Menu - More - Calendars, and uncheck the ones you don't want to sync.

I also have this problem and I have an HTC EVO 4G LTE running ICS 4.0.3. None of the suggestions I read anywhere on the web worked for me, but I finally found a solution. Open the Google Calendar from your phone/device, and at the top left, there is a drop down menu titled "Calendar." I never noticed that this was a drop down list before, but it is. This is where you will find all of the synced calendars from Facebook and others. I had to uncheck everything, and then add just the ones I cared about. That worked for me; hope this helps.
Just figured out that I can link contacts in my phone with their facebook profiles. Problem is, I have like 200 phone numbers and like 90% of them have facebooks. Is there a way to auto link them?

not sure about on your current ROM. In the CM series, the contacts are linked automagically with Facebook profiles. You could try in your ROM as well.
To get the picture to sync, open your Contacts app, select a contact, Menu > Edit, and scroll down to the bottom, see if there is a Facebook account linked. If so, tap the picture and select "Use this picture". Save the changes and Exit.
This will only work, of course, after you add a Facebook account (Settings > Accounts & Sync > Add Account > Facebook), which only works if Facebook app is installed.
The method above will also sync the pictures anytime they change (ie, if your friend changes their profile pic, the change will sync to your phone).
hey!
just a short question: is it somehow possible to disable (remove!) the contact pictures that come with facebook-contact-sync?
thanks!
theo
edit: I am using InsertCoin HD-port
If it's just the Facebook ones you don't want, go into the settings of the facebook app and choose to not sync. Or if you don't want them to show at all go into the preferences of the Contact app.
I would like to sync all the facebook-contacts, but I don't want the facebook-contact-pictures coming with syncing "Facebook for HTC Sense".
the normal facebook app is not synchronising at all.
Open up the Contacts app and go through the settings to disable contact icons. To sync fully with Facebook, just go into the app, go into the settings and select sync all. If this doesn't work, go into Accounts and Sync and manually do it from there instead.

YES! thats what I want
but I can't find any "settings-menu" in contacs app ("people").
I am on InsertCoin HD Port - android 2.2.1
in contacts app I have only
-add contact
-view
-delete
-import/export
-search
-more (>blocked callers & linked contacts)
where can I find the option to disable contact icons?
THANKS!
Press the menu button on your Desire and it will bring up a little menu then just select settings. No idea what it's like on InsertCoin but should be still the same. They are there, you just have to find them. But seriously, press menu > settings.
arrr.
I feel like a real noob...I just can't find it :-(
as described above, when I am in my contacts app ("people") and press the menu-button I have only
-add contact
-view
-delete
-import/export
-search
-more (>blocked callers & linked contacts)
THERE IS NO "SETTINGS" option.
if you dont trust me I will upload some screenshots
cant imagine that there is no option like this in my HD-port...maybe I should ask in the Desire HD-forum...
nevertheless..thanks!
Sorry mate. I know what you mean now. Bloody native Android has it so you can get rid of the contact icon but Sense doesn't. I installed Sense earlier and I can't find anything. Guess you could get a 3rd party app and use that but as far as I can tell, it's not going to happen.

Hi!
This is really annoying.
I have unchecked every calendar except my main one.
But the birthdays from the Facebook-calendar is still showing as a notice on the lockscreen. Is there someway around this? Or do I have to send an error report to HTC?
Cheers

Go to Personalize > Lock Screen Style > Productivity* > Settings > Display calendar events from... and select/deselect ones you want to show.
*this assumes you are using this particular theme/skin for locked screen.
I was doing the same as you, thought unchecking the FB calendar in Calendar options/settings would do the trick but no joy - took me a while to figure this out!
Hope it works.

Tryed that, didn't work,i think is a lock screen bug,i am using MILocker now.
As stated above. I does not work, that was the first thing I tried.
It worked for me.
Are you both stock or custom & are you running latest Facebook version?
Perhaps try uninstalling the Facebook app, clearing the app cache & re-installing might help. Then deselect Facebook calendar under app sync options, calendar view and then lock screen settings just to be thorough.
Failing that, not sure what else to try except a hard reset if it bothers you that much!
