Spb Mobile Shell 3 (MS3) dual time zone clocks (Spb Time integration?) - Touch HD Themes and Apps

I would like to display two analogue clocks each showing a different time zone in my Spb Mobile Shell Leisure Today screen on my Touch HD. I'm also running Spb Time and expected Spb's integration to allow me to do this.
A while back I got Spb Time so that I could display dual time zones on my HTC Trinity Today page - this was exactly what I wanted.
So now I've upgraded to an HTC Touch HD and Spb Mobile Shell 3 (and Spb Time). So I now want to display dual time zones (i.e. two clocks) on my Spb Mobile Shell Leisure Home Page.
Can I do this via Spb Time, is there an MS3 configuration setting I've missed, is there some other MS3 widget I need to download from somewhere, or do I need to go back to basics and find another app?
I'd appreciate anyone's advice on this, as I haven't been able to find any references in xda-developers or Spb's forum. Thanks in advance.

Same issue..also have a Touch HD - weather integrates ok even if you have to 'click' through to get the detail. I liked the plug-in on the windows today screen for spb time - I'd like to remove the day/date display below the calendar appointments and replace with a time plug-in but I haven't found anything to configure that. I guess the alternative would be to have a lifestyle screen with a widget to display this and the weather.

SPB Mobile Shell 2 versus HTC Home

Looking at the adverts for SPB Mobile Shell, it seems to me that it offers everything that HTC Home does, plus a cube-type interface.
Does anyone have any experience of this software? Do the benefits over HC Home justify the cost?
I use Mobile Shell 2...I like it for the flexibility of it.
I don't use the today plug in at all. I mainly use it for the dialer tab that I embed in Pocket Plus and I like the SPB contacts better than the standard contacts.
Plus there is the cool factor of it.

I really like the Mobile Shell 2. It goes smooth.
One disappointing thing is that it is still a shell. You always end up with window mobile apps. for doing your things. You need the stylus again.

That's why I use Pocket Plus for my today screen. Give me a sec and I'll give you some screen shots.

Pocket Shell
- Limited Tab customization
*Tab thumb sizes are fixed
*Tabs only support Today Plugins
*Only 1 plugin per tab (if I remember it right)
- Comes with built-in extra plugins
*Dialer Plugin (like HTC Home favorites, but better as you can click-and-hold to select SMS instead of just calling, pictures are bigger and prettier)
*Time Plugin (only to show alarm clocks from the WM6 OEM clock settings)
*Shortcut Plugin (for favorite apps)
-HTC Cube alike thingy... ya... like the HTC Cube
Pocket Plus
- Very extensive tab customization support
*tabs can have multiple plugin and shortcuts
- No built-in plugins like in SPB Shell
- Adds touch-flo like feature
- Adds features to File Exploer
- Adds battery meter slim bar on top
I personally dont even use tabs. I use SPB Pocket Suite for the Dialer plugin (takes less space than SPB Shell's dialer) and SPB Diary under it and WeatherPanel for the weather (a lot better than SPB Weather).
what's the best rss feed app and news.thanks
I Used to have HTC home and played with it constantly trying to get it just right. Then I tried SPB Mobile Shell, with SPB Time, SPB Weather, SPB Diary & SPB Pocket Plus. You don't necessarily need all of them. Just play around until you find which best suits you.
They appear to be much more stable and flexible than HTC Home.
My only annoyance is that I have to go back to the Today screen occasionally.

What's SPB Pocket Suite like? Is their a need for it if you already have Mobile Shell?

Wow, a truly awesome set of screen shots!
Just to get this straight, are you using Pocket Plus AND Mobile Shell?
If so, how did you go about configuring your device? i.e. Did you load Pocket Plus first and then Mobile Suite, or vice versa?
Looking forward to emulating your screen shots.

I have both MS 2 and Pocket Plus loaded.
I am using TNT Lite for my ROM.
I also have loaded:
SBSH PocketWeather 2
SPB Phone Suite
IM +
Pocket Informant
SplashID
Resco Explorer
SKTools
Pocket Digital Clock
MobiReader
And some other programs.
I install Pocket Plus and MS 2 last.
I also use the silver icon packs from the SPB forums.
With MemMaid, I have the devide optimized for speed.
Typically I have between 13-17mb of RAM.
Been running like this for about a week now...no hard resets, no hanging boot screens, no frozen screens....been running perfect.
I'm at work right now on a 24 hour shift, so I will upload the icon packs when I get home tomorrow afternoon and post some more on it.
Thanks for the compliment; glad you like it.

Long press the tab you want to have MS2 and then you will see a drop down menu, hit plug ins and look for the "Home Tab". That should be your MS Home Tab.

If you press and hold your favorite contact in HTC Home, it brings up the full contact details which you have to option to call/sms
Do u know how to put 1 tab that shows calendar only, another tab to show just tasks.. just like in pointui.

I know, but I often try to dial while driving or walking in a crowded place or in a shaky subway, and I wont manage to tap & hold 50% of the time, resulting in calling the person instead of opening the contact details, or calling the wrong person or simply NOTHING to happen, etc etc
IN OTHER WORDS : I can't use the D-Pad to click&hold to open the contact details. I need to be able to use the D-Pad
Also I like to have a big clock at the same time as my contacts. With HTC Home, it's one or the other
I changed my plugins from what I said before.
1- Digital Clock plugin
2- SPB Pocket Plus (only 1 tab makes it without tabs, and in that tab is shortcuts for "SPB Diary Contact" You need SPB Diary)
3 - SPB Diary with tabs, one tab is WeatherPanel

Hey Guy,
What kind of today plugin you use? SPB Mobile Shell 2?
I don't think so.
Or you change something such as the skin.
Could you please tell me where could I find that software of skin?

incorporating sbp into tf3d

ok guys I just got my hd a few days ago.
I had an att tilt before and used spb suite with it.
I like the look of TF3d but it is not much function.
Can any one figure out a way of incorporating spb diary into TF3d.
thanks
I too am a fan of the Spb suite. I have successly incorportated it by using SecondToday to switch to it. I used Advanced Config to reprogramme the left-hand softkey to SecondToday (I initally programmed the PDA to switch to Spb Diary when clicking on Calendar on the home-page, but found this too clumsy to use, and much prefer switching to it from the left-hand softkey).
When switching to SecondToday, click and hold on any blank part of the screen to enter set-up. I have configured this just to show Spb Diary filling the whole screen. I can access the rest of the Spb function from the right-hand softkey.
I find this whole arrangement works really well.
For Spb fans, note that the new updated Weather program also runs as a stand-alone program, and so can be accessed directly from TF3D. This provides a much more accurate forecast than the AccuWeather page.

[APP] TouchFlow Detacher

TouchFlo Detacher is yet another way to simultaneously have TouchFlo 3D and the regular Today screen. Previous excellent solutions include SecondToday and ManilaControl.
Description
So what makes it different? Well, this app is actually very similar to MastSogo's ManilaControl. The main difference is that the author plans to actively develop it for a while, whereas ManilaControl has been a bit frozen in development for a few months. It is also open source, licensed under the Ms-RL. The program is on CodePlex, so download speeds should be much better than the average rapidshare link. Finally, it is in English and not Spanish. Other than that, it's just another solution for the same problem!
See it in action on the YouTubes
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uk0xWm8PMGQ
Download the CAB and source code here: http://www.codeplex.com/TFDetacher
Installation
As explained on CodePlex...
1. Install the CAB
2. Run the configuration app
3. Enable all the standard Today Items you want to use
4. Do not re-enable TouchFlo 3D in the Today items (if you do, it will undo all your other Today plugins)
Requirements
Windows Mobile 6.1
.Net Compact Framework 2.0
A device that runs TouchFlo3D / Manila
Current features
- Free up your Today screen by hosting Manila outside of the Today screen! TouchFlo Detacher can launch/show/hide/close Manila independent of any other Today screen settings. Now you can have your TouchFlo cake and eat it too! The most obvious use is to assign a soft key to toggle between seeing TouchFlo and seeing the regular Today screen.
- Service runs as a background application (in your StartUp folder) for maximum speed when toggling Manila modes.
- NO ANNOYING SPLASH SCREEN when application launches.
- Service is 100% idle when not receiving messages or controlling TouchFlo, so no CPU is wasted! (Just a tiny bit of RAM)
- Configuration application allows modifying manila.exe location, manila window class, and more, so that this utility can (presumably) be used with other manila versions (such as TouchFlo 2D). This is untested. Out of the box, it supports TouchFlo 3D in its default configuration as seen on the Diamond/Pro/HD.
- Configuration application can clean out the ManilaActivateToday.exe from the notification queue. (That app can interefere with TouchFlo Detacher's operation.)
- Shortcuts to start/show Manila, hide Manila, and close Manila. These can be assigned to hardware buttons (if your device has them) or virtual hardware buttons through the use of 3rd party applications such as AE Button Plus.
- Configuration application can customize the softkeys in both Today and TouchFlo's Home tab. You can use it to not only assign TouchFlo Detacher operations (show/hide/close), but any other application on your device.
I want only to say many thanks for that cab it works very good on my Touch HD ... Great App cardefbel
THE best piece of software I've downloaded. Used it on both Touch Diamond and Touch HD and love it!
Perfect - thanks
Thanks for this awesome app....
Would I be correct in thinking that with your app I can go all out on WAD2 or something and still be able to switch back and forth between WAD2 and Touchflo without all the hassle?
Thanks. Downloaded, installed, and be able to switch between TF3D and my old style today with Spb Diary.

Is it also possible to have TF3D together with SPB today screen combined whit SPB mobile shell?
Hi Guys,

cant figure out a solution.
thanks and Ciao!

Thanks cardefbel !!!
i can tell that this is the best suggestion i have never got in this forum.
you have got the point at the first shot!!!!!! and i have my second today with a brilliant background.
of course thanks to chaosdefinesorder that playing with the device have found out the problem.
for those are asking about my second today:
Resco today plugin
Resco explorer 2008
that's it.
ciao!
Looks great!
I have tried WAD2 and Spb Mobile Shell and I like many of the things that those things bring that TF3D doesn't. I like them both, but I have not been able to break away from the TF3D which is one of the major factors I purchased the phone. Now I can have my cake and eat it too. We'll give it a shot! Thanks.
Update - I loaded it and it seems to work great. I loaded back my Spb Mobile Shell and seems to be working nicely between. It did take a few tweaks, but it is running fine. One thing however is that when I am back in TF3D my hard home key doesn't work to bring me back to the TF3D home. Any ideas?
Thanks for the program cardefbel but I am having a problem with it....notice that if I'm using the SPB screen it won't go back to TF3D after 15mins.....if I want my TF3D i need to reboot it.....but if I on the TF3D I can swap to SPB anytime.....
absolutely excellent, having my appointments on the screen with a 1 button press to TF3D is awesome

Are you using SPB mobile shell or SPB pocket plus. I tried to reproduce it with SPB mobile shell, but the switching to TF3D worked for me after 15 mins.
BTW, it's not a program I wrote, found it on the net and realy liked it.
I have a problem with WEATHER page
I have started the program
il works perfectly BUT
if i go in the weather page, under TF3D, he changes automatically to today.
Any idea ????

Combine SPB mobile shell and TF3D

Hi
Could someone please help me with this issue?
When installing SPB Mobile Shell 3 it automatically come up as default today screen. What I would like is to add it to one of the SW buttons and keep TF3D as my default screen and be able to toggle between these two home screens. No problem adding it to a SW button, but how can I tweak so that my TP2 unit automatically launches TF3D and not SPB Mobile Shell?
I think I have seen it some where but have not been able to find the thread yet.
Thanks!

Here's the thread where everything you need to know about SPB Mobile Shell is located. What your looking for is in this thread because I did what your wanting to do. But it's been too long ago to remember exactly. I'm no longer using SPB Shell.
What I think you have to do is, download a second "today" widget and assign tf3d to it and then you can switch between the two.

SPB Mobile Shell Vs Sense Use - TMobile

Well, I finally finished getting my TP 2 set up, so naturally I wanted to fool around some. So I enabled the Sense menu in the Today and disabled SPB Mobile shell to see what I thought of the two.
Memory: Sense took up about 14 Mb, SPB Mobile Shell 3.5.3 takes up about 16 Mb.
Pro for Sense: I liked the weather display. It is very slick. I also liked the stock display.
Dislike for Sense: I think that the manner in which one moves between favorite people and reads emails is over done and not useful. I found it hard to use in actual practice. Also, I noted that one generally got back into the WM 6.5 menus (for actually reading emails, for example) quite often. I also found myself restricted when it came to customizing the Sense interface. You can add Weather locations, stock symbols, favorite people, and rearrange the tabs. That is about it.
I went back to Mobile Shell. It is fully customizable, with 10 screens of icons, all of them touch friendly (or not, depending on your preferrences). I find that I prefer that method of input. In some ways it is similar to Sense, in that one uses the finger scroll to go between the 10 screens, but unlike Sense there is no bottom list of tabs - one has to know which screen is which. But there are lots of other things I like in Mobile Shell. For example, recently used programs are very quickly accessed, and one can set up links to start up internet pages with a single finger tap.
My summary: I think that SPB Mobile Shell is more attuned to the WM operating system. The OS is really designed such that the user needs to know how to use it. For such users, Mobile Shell provides the extreme customization that makes the device absolutely sing - I can execute any desired command while the Sense user is still dragging tabs.
However for the novice, I suppose Sense is easier to use. But to me, WM 6.x will never be as user friendly as an android or iphone, and the Sense software is just window dressing over what is essentially a small computer with a "geek" back end.
yeah, but pay $29.99 for to save about what? one second of time? gwah!!
Actually, that is only the cost if you have no other SBP products, but yes, I should have mentioned that Shell is not free. But the user experience is so customiziable that I save many minutes per day because the entire array of information is there in one screen, the exact way I want and use it. I don't need the weather tab, for example, because the built in weather has a "large" skin that presents the entire weather and forecast at a glance, and I have configured every scrreen with an analog clock and a lock icon. Those are my design choices, not someone at HTC. But these are only my opinion, of course.
I got it just before Xmas when it was on sale for $15, so watch for the sales coming up. Subscribe to the email notifications from SPB and Handango.
Well...
With the help of a custom rom, I have actually switched from a long time user of SPB to a Sense 2.5 lover. It is just more polished, and HTC has skinned almost the entire OS to be very finger friendly
It is also way faster then the sense. All you have to do is disable sense all together, and install SPB and make it your default UI. The usage and amount of response your phone will get will be unbelievable.
