Hi everyone. I've been searching for a while, and I'm clueless. Is there an app out there or a registry hack to do custom vibrations? Everytime I receive an email or SMS it vibrates for SOOO long and it's a CONSTANT vibration, and I'd like to make it some kind of pulsating one, or whatever. I saw the registry hacks for ringtones, but what about for the other notifications?
Thanks
Kent!
Hello there,
Check out this post for a program called Valert which should do what you want, customizing the vibration:

Any way to suppress pop up notifications on the XDA IIs? Example is SMS I don't mind the notification icon at the top but don't like it displaying the message in a pop up another is voice mail balloon.
Thanks in advance
:?
You can turn off the sms message display in the options, as well as set which stuff you want to be alerted for and how you want to be alerted.
settings --> Personal --> sounds and notifications

Not on a XDAIIs...
I think you need to change the values in the Register. You gave me a great idea tho, coz I agree...those popups can be annoying. I will have a dig through the register and see if I can come up with something that works.

Thank you and please keep me informed of any progress.
any progress?
Hi everyone,
Just recently picked up the O2 xda 2s unit, given to me free of charge by o2 for continuing my contratc with them. I must say im pretty impressed by the unit as a whole, yes it has its bugs but tell me which phone hasnt lol. I have SE P900 which likes to keep crashing on me every so often even though it has the latest firmware on it.
But anyways im new here and wanted to say hello and also ask a question that may have been asked before but i couldnt see it anywhere so here i am
Right is there any way i can put a different tone to the one that is already on there for the sms, mms and email alerts???. I couldnt see for the life of me anywhere on the pda where you could change the incoming tone alert unless im blind or something lol. On my P900 you can easily change or put any alert tone for your mms, sms and emails etc but so far havent been able to do that with my XDA2S.
So does anyone have any ideas if this is possible or not???...also not forgetting is there anyway the phone could be louder or vibrate when you have an incoming sms, mms or email as i tend to miss most of them when they do arrive.
Thanks for any advice
Hmmm so no one knows if they can do this or anything???
I have the t-mobile mda III so it might be slightly different with the menus however you might be able to make it work for yours.
As you wil know you are unable to select any other file than those already in the sounds and notifications menu however you can add an extra ring tone but that only works for phone calls.
As a work round when your phone is being connected to your pc you can explorer your device either thru my computer or Active Sync. This will then allow you go to the Windows directory like you would on a normal computer. If you then copy your file that you want as your sms tone to here you will then be able to select it from sound and notifications.
Another good one I found is that by changing the sound files in the windows folder you can also have a very nice sound everytime a menu pops up plus a whole host of different event sounds.
Hope this helps point you in the right direction as it works on the mda III

same problem here i am a contractor and get most jobs via txt need help asap where are our senior members
Hmm... I'm not sure. I've not encountered this before. Which ROM and lockscreens are you using?
HTC Tilt2 (AT&T) Official ROM Update newest from htc site
To display the preview you have to do two things:
1. Wake Up on new SMS
Use a registry editor and change "HKLM\Drivers\BuiltIN\RIL" "DisableSMSWakeUpEvent" from "1" to "0"
2. Go to Start Menu > Settings > Personal > Sounds and then go over to the Notifications tab. Chose "Messaging: New text message" from the drop down menu. Then check the boxes that say "Play sound" and "Display message on Screen."
That should do it.
thanks soft reseting now
no go on the fix the screen lights up but no notifacation until the phone is unlocked
If you're using the stock or HTC lockscreen, then that's how it's supposed to be. If you want the message to pop up on the display à la iOS, then try a different lock screen like S2U2. There is a setting in there to make the message display on the lockscreen and either view (reply) or dismiss it.
still didnt do the trick phone has to be unlocked to get mms sms notify
about to give up and hard reset out the window

Right, that's how the stock lock screens are designed. That's why I suggested to install S2U2. It does what you're asking for.
i have had this phone for over a year it always notified me when a new sms came through whenn the phone was looked did i mention it notifies me off email but not sms
Hey,
Ye those things dont work.
I did a hard reset, and now it works propperly again, and my phone is way faster.
To bad this was my sollution.

Well, if nlueray112 got it working after a hard reset, then my guess is that something you've installed or tweaked has disabled or broken the feature. If you aren't comfortable doing a hard reset, then simply try S2U2 as I suggested. It does what you are looking for within the app, without calling WM for a pass off.
Several years ago I found an app here called Txt Secretary which allowed me to customize my text message notification by contact so that everyone that sent me a text message had their own alert tone so I would know who was texting me just by which alert was played which I really liked a lot & it was working great until about three days ago. Now I can't find the cab that I had for the program & for some reason the program is no longer working. I really liked that program & want to be able to have different text alerts depending on who is texting me so can anyone please help me out w/this. It is really important to me to be able to have the distinction of who is texting me by the alert tone that is played. If anyone has this cab or knows where I can get it please let me know. Thank you

Maybe?
Thx but that is not the program that I am looking for. I want the program that will allow me to change the txt tone that is played depending on who is sending me the txt.
Hi all,
I'm brand new to the forum and signed up in the hope that one of you knowledgeable folk would be able to help me with my new Huawei watch.
I use Go SMS Pro as my text message client, and am only receiving a 'new message' notification on my watch screen. It does not vibrate to tell me I've received it (does vibrate for new GMail's) and I am also not able to read the contents of the message, it just gives me the option to open on my phone.
If anyone could point me in the right direction to fix this it would be very very much appreciated...I've spent ages googling it but to no avail.
Thanks so much in advance all!

Ok, so I managed to fix this after a little trial and error. Thought I'd add this to my post in case it could possible help anyone.
Issue was I had message preview set to 'Private' in Go SMS settings, and also vibration set to 'off' (was using Light Flow for custom notifications)
Now I get a vibration and full notification on the watch.
Hope this helps someone!

Hi, thanks for the update. Also, Welcome to XDA!
