Application Idea! - Touch HD Themes and Apps

Hey guys just had an idea for a wicked application for the HD (and desktop).
Would there be a way so that when you plug you phone into your computer you can send text messages from the computer (via your phone) to the person, as well as them coming up on your computer.. like an email.
Not sure im making it sound clear or not lol.
I don't have the knowledge to even debate whether it's plausable or not...
Any views on it?
Thanks, Tom.

lol...stuff like this already exists..at least I think it does...
eg: with SOTI pocket controller you can view your phones screen on PC monitor and control the whole phone (you can even go to your phone with the mouse cursor andcontrol your phone with the pc mouse -wicked)...but AFAIK it doesn't store messages on your computer...
were you searching for something like this?

YEAH THAT SOUNDS PRETTY GOOD
oops caps sorry - working! lol

Check out MyMobiler - it's like SOTI but freeware! http://www.mymobiler.com/

That works a charm thank you so much!

or jeyo mobile
http://www.jeyo.com/companion.asp
...Its powerful threaded SMS chat mode enables you to communicate instantly with hundreds of millions of mobile phone users around the world using SMS directly from your PC,....
will that do ?

Yeah thats great. Althogh with My Mobiler it wont let me connect to my Orange Internet... any ideas of how to do that???
Thanks so far guys!

Windows Mobile Power Tolls over Wifi?

Hi everyone, please can you tell me if it is possible to control the Orbit using a pc (with Windows Mobile Power Tools) over Wifi.
Thanks
F
why would you want to do that. if ur on your pc you should have every thing you need???
Hi,
I would want to use it as a wireless webcam/Baby Monitor
Thanks
spycam.. nice Phone radiation is not very good for baby, if baby is what you are watching try getting yourself a cheap webcam, DIY to make it IR-sensitive, run it through a long cable and you can then watch your baby (with sound, if your webcame supports that) in total darkness (probably you need an IR light). If babe is what you are watching, thats another story
do a search on this forum, there are tons of apps that allows you to see remotely whats displayed on your phone.
while you are at it, look at this as well

You can try this

Well, an what about writing a SMS from my Desktop instead of the Orbot? E.g. sitting in the train with my notebook and the Orbit connected via Bluetooth - writing a SMS from the Desktop is really more comfortable.

LogMeIn - doesnt work, dont know if T-HD specific problem?

hey guys
it's a f***n' mess..
I just tried the RDProtocol to remotely control my laptop computer with my Touch HD - it doenst work. OK - don't hesitate - just try the alternatives. I did. LogMeIn. People around the web and this board mean, its quite easy to install.
So i installed the client for my laptop, registered with my offical mail account, rebooted my system and now?
First think - not TouchHD specific: My laptop pc is not shown on the list in my account management at logmein's webpage. Ok, perhaps i can handle it somewhen in the future.
The second thing is:
I visited "logmein.com/pda" with either Opera Mobile and PIE - nothing happens (because some people said, that there will appear a popup to install the mobile client)
However - i downloaded the client from someone in the board, installed it - but: I cannot found a program to start anywhere.
When i try to call the laptop and the listening LogMeIn-Server on port 2002 with my browser - nothing happens.
So... the only little thing i want is to remote my Laptop... but PITA - its not working. Can someone help, please?
thanks a lot for every hint!

(pls excuse the bad spelling... i'm much better in german writing ^^ )
Mate,...Logmein works fine with the native internet explorer on your device (press "start" tab and you can see the ie7 like logo on there and use that)... it does not work with Opera (didnt for me anyway).
The so called logmein client you refer to is no more than a plugin for internet explorer so if you have it instaled and using the internet explorer as i mentioned above you just got to the logmein home page and login and all will be clear to you
but i tried it with the native internet explorer (PIE - pocket iexp.)... ok, then i guess its a problem with my account, because i'm not able to add my laptop to the "computer list" at the logmein-webpage...
thanks anyway!
try logging into the webpage from the laptop itself
to add it (I think that's what i did)

It seems to work though I can't convince it to enter the password correctly when locked
But why doesnt RDP work for your laptop? Do you get any error messages? did you add a password to your account?
maybe it's easier to solve that problem instead of trying alternatives? i mean PIE is extremely slow..

also what Operating system is the laptop running ?
for example Vista home doesn't support incomming rdp without hacking
one of the vnc clones is a typical way around this.
and as Imperium said rdp won't work with accounts that have no password
and it has to be dumbed down for some rdp clients

logmein
I too had issues to start with, but a little playing around and it works fine. You have to use the "keyboard" input method, using small keys I find works fine. For me the " is mapped to shift 2 a quick think about that and I think logmein is using the local of the PC your controlling so in the UK shift 2 is ". BTW my regional settings are set to UK on the HD. Using the touch friendly keyboard (full qwerty) wouldn't work at all for me with the loginme control.
Hope that helps you!

Remotely operate TP2 through computer?

I remember my treo700p used to be able to be operated through my computer via USB connection. Is there any way to do the same thing with the Rhodium? It would be nice to be able to check out blocked sites that I frequent on my work comp.

I second that suggestion...MyMobiler is the shiznit...very light, very useful, and 100% free. It puts a window on your pc desktop that just repeats what's on your phone's screen, and you can interact with it with a mouse + KB in any way that your fingers could. It also does screenshots and vid capture. I use it with my TP2 daily.
It can be slow, but you cannot beat the price, what I love is that I can create "Phone Top" images to explain things to users at work, past them into word etc.

[Q] How can I use my evo *as* a mouse and/or keyboard?

May seem kind of weird and you may be asking why I want to do this.
I have a little minitop PC set up and hooked into a TV. The way it's layed out, a mouse and keyboard would not fit in at all. It seems logical I can somehow use the evo as the mouse and/or keyboard on demand.
I see two general possibilities...
1) Using Bluetooth (I'd assume it would be using an AOSP rom such as Cyanogens because of the BT stack)
2) Some sort of remote desktop software that *doesn't* log out the computer once the evo logs in. Windows built in remote desktop is great, however when you log in remotely it brings the computer to the login credentials screen where it says someone now is logged into the computer.
What do you guys think? Is it a possibility?
Have you tried Gmote? I think it's exactly what you are looking for.
-Sent from the XDA app
install a VNC agent on your PC and use a VNC client on your android like android VNC.
Thank you guys, I'm trying out both as we speak =)

[Q] Texting on Galaxy s3 using pc

Hi, first off, I haven't ever needed to post much here before but I love to read all the stuff available here at this site. Top notch man!
Anyway, I have a question that I cannot seem to find an answer to, and have tried numerous search terms to no avail.
Is there a way where I can hook up my s3 to my PC and be able to see the text messaging interface on the PC as well as use the keyboard on the PC to interact with them?
The PC is running WIn XP SP3 and I also have a laptop that runs Win 7.
After hours of texting, this would be much more comfortable on the eyes, and using the full sized keyboard on my PC would mean less typo corrections due to striking the wrong letters. If anyone has a solution for this, or can suggest an app that does this, please respond.
Thanks in advance.
Yesterday I saw an app on market for that .
Search text from pc or text from tablet. There are bunch off apps.

Thanks!, Not exactly what I was looking for but a good alternative. The ultimate would be to have the GS 3 connected via the micro USB and then see the messaging GUI as seen on my phone on my PC screen while being able to use my PC keyboard for interaction. I am guessing this doesn't really exist as of yet.

Actually I saw some pics of my friend whose usb connector has a female usb port at the other end which has a usb mouse connected, and it works. You should try to look for that connector and try your keyboard. :cyclops:
Not sure if I understand your question exactly but you might want to try Kies Air. It's either through the browser or it comes as a little standalone application when you download Kies.
I'm using MySms and it works great. I can text from my tablet, my PC (browser or app), and everything syncs and backs up to the cloud. You'd need to install their app on your phone so it can intercept your texts and send them to the cloud. The only thing is that MMS is funky, so I still use the AOSP messenger to download and upload them.
Use AirDroid.
Does SMS, app installs, file transfers, and more through Wi-Fi or data connection
