it would work but incase you don't have one then you can just use your g1

Doesnt work for me! but, i am trying to install a Kubuntu theme!
I have that regualer crayon theme "it sucks!"

Er... this is pretty much just like using the G1 as a flash drive.
Which can be done by putting the theme onto any flash drive or USB device. I really don't want to be rude, but this isn't really anything special. It doesn't even really warrant a post, since you're not actually installing the theme from the G1. Good to know you can use the G1 with the PS3 as a USB hub, though.

HEY MCFLY015, I KNOW YOU JUST FOUND A WAY TO INSTALL THEMES ON THE PS3 FROM YOUR G1 AND ALL, AND I'MMA LET U FINISH...BUT MOHSINKHAN47 HAD ONE OF THE FUNNIEST THREAD TITLES OF ALL TIME!
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=561053

You can download themes from the net using the PS3 browser. EASY AND SIMPLE!
Goto your PS3 browser and goto google and search PS3 themes.

Just like the commercial says, "why have a ps3 without internet?" WHY...

wrong forum or wrong category?

you mean wrong forum category ? or wrong forum, as 'xda' ?
because I have not found in the terms that this forum should only have "Special posts".
if he post something that is not special and not on your interest, it's your problem to go somewhere else. You should not be mocking others just because you find this post not "special" or useless for you.

you could just go to ps3-themes.com from your browser on the ps3, download and set them all from within the ps3

Wrong place for that! Use google and don't create troubles to xda-developers! We use this forum for ROMs and nothing more than that! Just Google it!
flash games
For games i just use flash lite from adobe.
works well.
To get games I just use google search for swf files.. something like
"snake filetype:swf"
"tetris filetype:swf"
"arcanoid filetype:swf"
works well
you could aloso go to flash games sites. find the flash game in the source code and just copy the *.swf file.
some games need lots of memory so they wont work. older games are no problem. games that don't work are like
rtype etc.

I have to agree that that is a very creative idea questsin - one question though, how do you save the .swf file?
*snip*
it's okay! i figured it out. just open the file in a new window then click on File > Save As....
Flash games are pretty cool. The buttons however don't seem to map well. Having a keyboard helps

When you find the link on google, right click on the link and click on "Save Link As..." I forget what the option is in IE; as I'm currently using Firefox.
It'll save the .swf file to your pc. Just take that file and slap it on your phone and you should be able to open it up with the Adobe Flash Light player.

remote control your phone via pc?

title says it all, any freeware packages out there?
i found http://www.soti.net but its a bit too much for my needs.
thank in advance
Edit:
can a mod please move this thread?
You want to control the phone, from your PC? Hmm.. I don't even know if it's possible. Kind of a reverse remote desktop but a remote phone instead. Huh. I think the limiting issue will be that you would need an app that always runs on the phone. I know you can lock it, track it, wipe it, etc with WaveSecure, but actually control it? Beyond accessing files and folders, I don't know that you could remotely control the phone.
This should probably go in the apps and themes forum rather than Q&A, if there's an app out there they might know of it.

[Q] Control HTC Evo through Computer

Hey recently ive decided that I want to replace my stereo in my car with a mac mini and an external tough screen. I first thought I would try to use the HDMI feature of the Evo to view my phone on the screen, but I would want it to be interactive on the screen. So then I decided I should find a program that will allow me to use my Evo through a usb cord so the Evo displays on in a window on my mac or windows pc and i can interact with it from there. Does anyone have any ideas on how to make this work? Or does anyone wanna take on this project?
There is a thread on this topic in Q&A. I saw it maybe 2 days ago. Has a few suggested apps to control your evo via pc or vice versa.

hahaha i know. but those run through the web and i cant share the same connection if im creating the wifi form my phone.
and the ones that i found that go through usb, which is 1, refreshes and 4 frames a second =/
you could wire up a wifi router..
Here's the thread he was talking about: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=971209
Anyway...
I used this: Droid VNC Server (FREE, requires root)
And this: VNC® Viewer Free Edition 4.1 for Windows (also free)
It's pretty choppy, but it works.
If you don't have Windows, pretty much any VNC viewer will work, there's lots of them out there (Google it).
Appreciate it. And yea. The last two days I've been doing research and trying out different ones, and everything had been laggy or choppy. I made this hoping to find a hidden gem that worked perfectly or someone that knew how to get it working flawlessly

Try mymobiler, it works perfectly for me. Just go google "mymobiler", it is the first result comes up.
Google android screencast, as long as your phone can be detected by adb it works great!

For you linux users out there.

Nothing we didn't know but. I was so dissapointed I wrote samsung to tell them UNACCEPTABLE. As I'm sure you know . Samsungs mtp mass storage doesn't interface with linux. I was reading some fixes and I atleast got the drives to mount from the phone installing MTP libs but any transfer too or from results in error. So I just wanted to share samsungs response. Basically.... " Sorry pal . we doubt were ever going to fix this . Pound sand "
"Dear Joseph,
Thank you for your inquiry. We understand that you can't connect your Samsung phone in a computer running with Linux Operating System. We apologize for the inconvenience that this may have caused you.
Samsung doesn't have a configurable option to connect a Samsung Device to a Linux computer. The process for the mass storage settings is tested to work only with Microsoft Windows and Macintosh computer. We apologize for the inconvenience that this may present.
We are unable to speculate when/if a software revision with this feature might be available due to the fact that this might lead to inaccurate information and confusion.
Thank you again for your comments, understanding and patience.
Do you have more questions regarding your Samsung Mobile Phone? For 24 hour information and assistance, we offer our new FAQ/ARS System - Automated Response System at http://www.samsung.com/support. It's like having your very own personal Samsung Technician at your fingertips.
Thank you for your continued interest in Samsung products.

Sorry, I can't even find it on the play store. I just restored it from a TB I had on my GNEX.
Try searching XDA for an official apk of swiFTP or try another ftp app on the play store. I saw a couple highly rated ones that are free.

I've never used Advance Launcher, but RCB is pretty straightforward. Load roms and emulators on to Fire TV -> import rom collection -> follow instructions. If the external HDD is recognized and mounted by the FTV then you shouldn't have any additional problems than you'd encounter if the roms were located on the internal storage. You just have to make sure that you point RCB in the right rom directory.
Honestly the easiest way to set it up is to start RCB once so that it creates a basic settings.xml and then manually text edit settings.xml with whatever arguments your setup requires. Then it's just a matter of pressing "import games" and waiting for a year for the FTV to finish scraping and downloading. This step is a great thing to do before bed just because it can take forever depending on the size of the collection.
I loaded the APK for retro arc on the firetv it self it gives a option to move it to the ext hdd.. wasn't sure if it was ok to move it but i would rather have it on the ext drive when i load the other apk can i load them st8 to the ext or do i have to sideload them and then move them alsois there a guide on how to edit the xml files and what the settings are? I'm not sure I understand, but yeah, as far as I know moving emulators to external storage is fine. The guide you want to follow is this. I personally wouldn't recommend retroarch. It works, but can be a serious pain to configure. Most of them aren't free, but I'm a big fan of this guy's emulators, along with epsxe and Mupen64.
Ok... Do you need both advance launcher and RCB? what do you use to push/pull the xml files or do you know where I can just get a xml file that most of the editing is done or close to working the less I have top screw up the better...
I have a question guys...after the initial SCRAPE....and you want to change something - how can I pull up the menu shown here:
https://romcollectionbrowser.googlecode.com/files/screen_contextmenu_1202.jpg
its easy to do on PC, but not on the FIRE (I am finding)
