Sure, you can add registry keys manually for the exe files you want to autorotate. I think the application must support it natively though.

it supports it becuase when i slide out the keyboard it goes into landscape mode

You could try G-Config (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=487991). Worked for most applications for me and is way easier than hacking around in the registry.

Is there any way I can set a program to start in a certain orientation?

Question:
Would it be possible to set a certain program to start in an orientation you specify?
For example, I'm a big gaming nerd, and I would like my PocketNES emulator to start in landscape mode as soon as I click on the icon to run it. Or my hacked AIM, I want it to always start in Portrait mode, whether the keyboard is out or not. The program would then function normally after the initial startup.
Is there any way I can accomplish this? Whether it is a 3rd party program, a registry key edit, etc.? Any help would be GREATLY appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Not sure if there is such an app, but i do know Phonealarm by Pocketmax can change rotation depending on the profile your using, and you can also assign a particular app to execute when using that particular profile. What im saying is try to make a profile (phonealarm settings) wherein your desired Screen rotation and program will execute when choosing that profile... but im not sure if this will work 100% since some apps does not follow the screen rotation. www.pocketmax.net
Use Mortscript to change orientation and then launch your app.
PHM does little applets for changing screen orientation etc. Use the two together perhaps for some magic, if Mortscript doesn't natively support rotation.

[Q] Launch app on Keyboard slideout?

Hey all,
One thing that annoys me about the new x2 sip is that it continues to use xt9 even though I'm typing on the hardware keyboard. (If you know a setting to stop this let me know)
What I would like to do is have the application "SipSwitch" launch and change the current sip to the NullKeyboard whenever I slide out the hardware keyboard on the xperia.
Does anyone know of an app or fix that allows applications to be run whenever you slide out your keyboard?
Thanks in advanced
Try this
Do you also use the slide to switch between portrait/landscape modes?
If yes, use PQzII to switch SIPs.
If no, try this:
Install the registry key below (use tascal reg edit to import them). It assumes you use Keyboard and nueNullKB (if not, just change the registry entry to your null SIP).
Copy sipswitch.exe to Windows folder (this is mandatory).
Reboot.
I can't do anything about the SIP popping out when you slide in - that's due to how sipswitch works.
You can also use those registry entries to run programs. They will need to reside in the Windows folder though. These registry entries rely on windows state notifications (snapi) so there's no polling involved. Don't use the registry setttings if you switch between landsccape/portrait tho. the SIP won't be positioned properly.
Thank you for this! Don't have time now, but I will try it out soon and tell you what I think.
There's a slidersound app/cab that enables sounds for the keyboard whenever it slides in/out and also can open up an app of your choice...search for it!

Tried searching for this, but I'm getting a lot of stuff that's not related. If you can please post a link or give the exact name of the file or something. thanks for the suggestion though.

Hey inks, thanks for your input. The registry fix didn't work, but PQZII did and was exactly what I was looking for. I doubt I ever would have found that app myself. PQZII will probably be useful for some other things too. later
ah the registry notifications depend on you installing nueNullKb (http://www.nuerom.com/BlogEngine/page/nueNullKB.aspx). Too lazy/hard to make a cab for it so it's not easy to set up. owell.
But yeah if you're just switching SIPs between landscape/portrait, PQzII works a treat.
@ImPacking
If you're talking about nuerom's nueSlidingKb (creates an icon called Sliding Sound in Settings) or nueKBLight, they don't work for the X1 (was designed for touch pro 1). Problem being they rely on detecting portrait -> landscape switch modes but for right sided hw keyboards.

Album in Landscape

How do I get the images inside slideshow to auto-rotate based on the orientation of the phone? I mean, when I rotate the phone, the image inside a slideshow does not rotate? I want to rotate it to landscape/portrait.
I have tried changescreen and have created exception for htcalbum. Although thumbnails of images inside a album do rotate as I move the phone, but when I start slideshow then the images will not rotate. Any way to do this?
Also I tried Dotfred's Taskmanager and applied GSensor.reg file. It also rotates most of the apps, but htcalbum still has the same problem. I could not figure out how to do this.
I will also like to know if there is a way to undo changes made by importing GSensor.reg file?
Thanks
theres been alot of talk about this. theres just no rotation support in album 3. if your looking at the album itself and not a photo, it does rotate. so the program knows its rotating and ignores the command to do it. i dont know why htc did this, it was a key feature on the original touch pro. ask for the registry edits, you can go into hkcu\software\htc\htcsensor (doing it from memory, my phone is too far away to check this) and delete what you dont want up.

Rotate HTC Messaging Client without slidding open keyboard

What is the easiest way for my kids to be able to use the SMS app without openning the keyboard, and by using the onscreen keyboard in landscape, like an iphone, kinda.
We are all on the NRG roms, 21xxx with HTC Messaging Client installed.
I added the "all messages" page into g-config but it does not rotate in any of the SMS chats. My guess is that i have to add every SMS page to g-config?
There has to be an easier way to get any SMS/MMS to open in landscape just by rotating the phone?
I use BSB Tweaks. It allows you to rotate any program and it is very easy to use. You select the rotation feature in BSB, go to the program , then shake the phone. Just search for it here, it's a free app.
or use rhodium keyboard control and assign screen rotation to any key.

Yea exactly, that's what I did. Probably the Push to Talk button, that's the one I use for it. The shake feature does seem kind of cool to rotate it. But at the same time, let's say you're in public and people see you randomly shake your phone... might look a little odd

Since you didn't say which ROM you were using, I'm going to assume you're on the stock one with TF3D. Go here to turn it off: Start > Settings > System > G-Sensor.

im using the stock sprint rom with the 6.5 upgrade. Ive disabled touchflow and use spb mobile shell. Ive gone into start settings system g sensor but there is only a option to calibrate the g sensor nowhere do i see any other options for anything. I dont think there are any differences wether i access the setting through touch flo. Maybe your rom adds that setting. Thanks for the reply and trying to help.
Delete the apps of your choice (in this case Opera) from the White List in the registry to prevent G-Sensor rotation. White List location is:
HKCU\Software\HTC\HTCSENSOR\GSensor\WhiteList
If registry edits scare you, you can install the G-Config app. This simple program just edits the registry through a user-friendly UI.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=487991
Open G-Config, you should see Opera on the list of Rotated Apps. Select and hold on Opera until the option to "Remove" pops up. Select "Remove" than exit G-Config, and soft reset the phone to make the change take effect.

Hi thanks for the response. i use opera mini and its not on the list. I added it and then tried to remove it but that did not work. I guess its only good for disabling g sensor for the programs that it comes with - I was succesful at disabling rotation with the opera on the list that comes with the stock rom. Any other suggestions? Ive never edited a registry but am williing to try if you can tell me how. thanks.
