I made a wvga theme for WAD2.
It is a portrait theme and maybe you will notice that it is a little bit inspired by the Concept Theme of Destri.
I really wanted to make a good looking theme for wvga devices, because there arent many wvga themes.
I hope you like it.
Please give me feedback(even if you dont like it).
Installation:
1.Unzip the download file
2.Unzip the theme folder to your WAD2 Themes directory
3.Install the White Box.wadesktop file with WAD2 as you usually do

Thanks for the beautifull theme. Yet the .wadesktop (english) isn't working for me: it won't extract any file to either internal memory or to SD card. Although I get the message that the theme has been exported successfully.
So when scanning for new theme, wisbar doesn't find anything. Usually I don't get this error with other .wadesktop files.
Is it corrupt?

Well the wad file still is buggy. When I try to install it, in the folder tree view I cannot access 'program files', I have the wait cursor permanently on screen ....
When using the first version of the file, I had the same issues but one or twice i did manage to install it in the lakeridge folder ... but now no success with this latest version...
Would be great if you could look into it.

Mmmh..thats strange.
I tested it and put the .rar file on my storage card, then I copied the theme folder in the WAD2 Themes directory and then I select the WAD2 file with my file explorer and with WAD2 I installed it in the theme folder and it works.
Did you do it this way?

yes !
I'm starting to think a sector of the .rar has been corrupted during download from MU. I just re-extracted all the files again and noticed the background picture .png didn't extract properly.
Will try to download again tonight from my home computer and will post back results.

The themes similarities are for example the status-dock which appears when you press the clock area...or the font.

I have the same kind of problems.
The german version only gave a black screen, the new english version does seem to install, however the background Leaf doesn't work and the clock at the top is not one clock, but several in different sizes...
I think this has to do with the installfile, because when I try to install it i get the exact same problem as Jeromex, i cannot acces the 'program files' folder (or any other folder for that matter) and i have the waiting cursor permanently on my screen. After a while the screen automatically goes black and when i press the power button i return to the home screen. The theme is kind of half installed or something...

I hope you are able to fix this (or even have a clue what could be wrong ), because i would love to use this theme !

I've been trying other WAD2 skins to determine the source of the error.
The problem is in the *.wadesktop file. The 'natural' theme (on the lakeridge forum) doesn't work properly either (the same endless 'program files' opening).
However the Sense skin, that can be found here does work. It doesn't have a *.wadesktop installfile, only all the files in different folders, which you can copy to the lakeridge/wad2/themes folder.
Is it possible to create a version of your theme without the *.wadesktop install file?
(I know i'm asking much, but i really like your theme and would like to give it a go on my HD !)

OEM supplied by Schaps. This version already integrated in his last ROM.
Not like previous version, this version Profile Tab already work correctly. No need to do anything. I have use it for several days and I dont notice any notifications queue issue or wild vibrate at all.
But I do change the following:
-Installation directory change to \HTCHome instead of \Windows
-To get Brightness shortcut working, the same patch as previous version applied.
-The same patch applied to enable the Tab Setting through registry.
Other than that Nothing. Much better version than v1.5

If you are ROMcooker, download the htchome.dll for rom cooker .
Install sdkcert.cab if you have not done so.
There are about 100 pages of discussion about v1.5. Lets not repeat what have been discussed over there like: Clicking left most mail icon will take you to MMS, how to change music tab tolaunch HTC Audio Manager, and so on and so on. I dont plan to follow up closely on these thread as I think this version is very good already. Should there be any fix, change, etc please refer to the respective post.

Bennec, the one you are using is v1.5.xxxx. Very earlier and uncomplete version that has been tweaked to make it reliable enough to be used. This version is a new build with the profile tab working and additional features in the contact tab thatenable you to select what number ina contact for the speed dial. Definately worthed.
Can you post a version where the files do go in the windows directory? I want to cook this in, but not have duplicates.

you can, just use windiff on the SYS and OEM folders of your kitchen, the dump folder is created by processing these 2 folders, so any file dups will be in there BEFORE you run buildos.exe.
add you package, then run windiff ont he SYS and OEM folders, it will find the file duplicates, and delete the ones that ARE NOT from your new package!!

Maybe I should have been more clear.
When creating a rom, all files will be placed in the windows directory, if you need files in a different directory like the cab posted above you will have to use initflashfiles which just copy the files to a new folder, then you will have duplicates. I just don't want 2megs of photos in two spots.

please Download this Original Icons Fix and add it to you package. 2 of the black and white icons (Music and People) dont react properly when you select them.
that link fixes them!! (it is not just yours, it is a common problem with all htc home plugins!!!)

Your question makes no sense then!
When you COOK this in obviously you would remove the version you already have in the ROM therefore you would not have the duplicates.
Also if you just created an package out of the cab above you will get NO initflashfiles therefore the package will install to the windows directory!!!

You still don't understand. My problem is NOT buildos failures. I don't want duplicates when the rom is complete. Any time you use a initflashfile you will have duplicates in the finished rom. That is what they are for. Again the problem is not with duplicates in the OEM and SYS. If you go back and check my posts you will see I helped you with this exact problem. I know how to create a rom!!!! What I don't know how to do is edit the dll file to redirect it to look in the windows directory for the png files. Hence why I'm posting.

Yes you do get a initflashfile that copies all the png files to HTCHome. See attached.
schen, installed & everything working fine, except for one, am unable to use the hardware navigational pad when accessing music tab, from there u can't proceed to go up, go to ff, rw or play button.
Touchscreen function (for all of the above ff, rw & play tabs) in music tab is working though.

Well then my answer to your question would be to remove the initflashfile, then everything would get installed to the windows directory and since you have no need for shortcuts, this would be fine!!!
been using this for a while and saw the new version a while ago. has option of more when u go to the 4 day detail in weather. fonts seem nicer and all. looks like a good upgrade to 1.5 Bennec83 irc bro

Just tried that. It doesn't work without the png files in the HTCHome directory. I guess we can't have everything.
The special dll for installing n Windows directory uploaded. Use that dll.
On the subject of weather plugin.
I am not sure why is there a need for a pre-configured xml file. Anyway, you need a gui to choose the city. Why not have a gui where you could enter the data which is stored on xml file. I suppose rather than sending an entire xml line when communicating with xml service, build an xml file base on the data entered via gui.
As I understand it, the DLL was just edited using a hex editor as \HTCHome and \Windows has the same number of characters, it sounds like it wasn't a decompile thing or something like that.
I'm not at home at the mo so I can't check but if you load the DLL up into a hex editor (winhex?) then replace all the \HTCHome text with \Windows, you should be good to go.
This is just my uderstanding though of what I've read in the previous....saga

if you are using any rom with cube simply paste wanted lord's files in windows folder and you will apply new skin....when you get bored of it just delete lord's files from windows folder
don't worry,old skin will be there because you can't delete files in rom

Just make a backup of your PDA before installing my files.
Sprite backup for example is excellent for this !
So, when you'll be bored of my files, you will recover originals files with backup.
Farukb, I think originals files will be overwritten after installing new files ...
It will be possible recovering originals files but with an hard reset !
WARNING : Cube files are only for Meschle's cube with 4 faces !!!
However, I can make a skin for traditional HTC cube ... if you want !

i tried to change transition animation and i overwritten the files...after that i deleted them and new (actually old--rom) files appeared...because you can't delete files in rom,but it doesn't matter,try if you want and if not...backup and restore as much as you want

you must have a explorer wich allow to overwrite those files, like resco explorer or other similar.
with original explorer you can't do that

if you delete the new one manually per hand (with a explorer like total commander or resco explorer), then after restart itz is original.
if you want it easier - please see on - first thread - you will find the original files. you can copy these over and it would also work.

Here is a background creator for manila version 2 and 3. I looked into getting it to work with stock roms such as 1.14 and I couldn't get it to overwrite the files on my device.
You can load any image into it and it will auto stretch the image and retain high resolution. You can add a watermark to a photo with drop shadow and/or glow, to give you a chance to add your own touch to an image.
This was implemented with the help of chainfire's cfc console app.
Anyways enjoy!
Instructions: DO NOT USE MaxTTM unless you want a black line in your BG
Run M3dBackground.exe
click on select file and select an image (it will auto stretch it to full screen)
add text if desired, and hit generate previews to confirm it is what you want. then hit save images and select a folder to save to.
the cfc process takes a good while, so be patient.
shut down manila. (start -> settings (all settings) -> today (under personal tab) -> items tab -> uncheck TouchFLO 3D
find the 4 files that end with manila that were created in the directory you selected, and copy them to your windows directory on your phone.
restart manila. (start -> settings (all settings) -> today (under personal tab) -> items tab -> check TouchFLO 3D
Done!

Oh boy Very nice work! I don't know if you saw it, but someone made a similar application after my presentation of the wallpaper issues in that post.

The principle is the same, but with a few differences - namely, that app uses separate source images for the landscape and portrait, but the sizes have to be exact as the output (480x696 and 800x403).
Perhaps you could team up with Maranello and see if you two can cook up something to solve the fact that these work only with new Manila, and not the v1 stock Manila.
And also, there is still an issue of how to workaround the fact that the images seem to be 1 pixel misaligned (not your fault, Manila is the problem). I think ChainFire (author of CFC) knows something about what's causing this and how to solve it.
In any case, this is very nice contribution and I thank you for the effort!

Its nice but I am really keen on the backgrounds and as you can see your screen of the colored bg, the lower part is off by few pixel...not so good to use when ur using detailed background design.
Either its slightly off or theres that line again inbetween. (building screenshot)

believe me ... no one will notice when it's on my device. a few pixels?? i'll never worry about it! this tool works great!
So my device says "TouchFLO V3.0 build 32567" I guess this is different than the manila version as this does not work for my HD.
Would love to see this compatible with the old manila!!!

I'm not sure. I have the latest from HTC's official roms 1.56 on my HD currently and I don't see any difference in the manila from the shipped rom of 1.14
So my guess is that 1.56 is still the old manila, please correct me if I'm wrong.
HTC hasn't updated the manila in any of their roms yet from what I understand.

Sorry for the stupid question but i can`t do it!!!
I run the M3dBackground.exe on my desktop PC i choice picture and i save it all is done i recive 4 manila files after that i synhro my Blackstone and i copy and paste this 4 manila files in my windows directory after this nothing heppand! So i don`t understand what you mean by "Shut down the MANILA" and after i copy tha manila files "restart manila" from where i must shut down this and restart?
And the final question is after this how im able to choice witch wallpaper i wana use? right now when i wana change my wallpaper i just click on wallpaper and i choice wallpaper from my Memory Card but for example when i make few direferent wallpapers like this and i copy all the manila files in WINDOWS after this how im able to choice with one i wana use.. and later if i want to switch to another wallpaper!
Please explain me this is very importmantly for me because i really don`t understand how Manila work! Explain me like for a idiot very clear hehehe

Not working for me also im with Davideuck v5 Room and my Touch FLO is V3.0 build 32567
I did everything and when i set the defaut wallpaper apear Half screen image!
Now i will upload screen shoot`s to see what i mean!
And the second screenshot showing how look my phone befor to copy the manila files!
I use the program to make this croco skin much more clear and Hight Definition.. maybe.. is better to stay this way for now

Being a themer I can help you, but I need more information.
What ROM are you using (or carrier if using stock), M2d version (if installed on your own), and what theme (or installation method...cab file, zip file, m2dc file).

Bell Mobility
Have not added anything else to the phone that what was included in the ROM.
Pick any Manilla theme on this site, whether it be Cab or Zip I can't get it to work. Do i need anything?

Edit the graphic files manually,
Each time a major revision to Manilla comes out (the last one was footprints) most old themes stop working. Where everything lines up, how it's displayed, how it reacts id controlled by a file called HTChomesettings.xml. The first thing you should do after a fresh flash is find that file in your windows directory, and copy it to your SD card. That way if you corrupt it with a new theme you can back up. If that doesn't work unfortunately a hard reset is your only option.
Manila 2D version 2.0 just came out, give it time, themers will release new themes. M2DC may have to be re-written as well. If not, a theme that is made for the the newer version of Manila (NOT an old one) can be installed via cab.
If you want, post the theme you want if you have a screenshot of it (or a link to the theme itself) and I will look into making it work with 2.0.
I have attached the HTChomesettings.xml file. I had to zip it to upload directly, just unzip it and you'll have the file.

That one is very similiar to a "Titanium 6.5" theme I did a while back except with emphasis on the transparency. I'll D/L the files and get to work on it for you. Might be a theme I'd use myself from time to time as well!

That theme was made by Atoz350, not only is he an active member, he's a Vogue owner running NFSFAN's V15!!!!
If you PM Atoz350 I'm sure he'll be happy to modify his theme.

I can make a clock like that,
I'd love to remake lot's of theme's for you guys but there is a problem.
Some Themer's do not like their theme's remade if they are very unique. That theme is from Kidnamedalbert, a very talented themer who is also a moderator on this forum. It would be wrong to remake unique themes.
The one TMZ asked about is a scrabble of commonly available files. Some themers (like myself) only make partial things like clocks, icons, bars etc and make them available to everyone. The slider is from Twolf's transtab and he has let lots of guys use it in other themes.
If anyone enjoys a unique theme (Sports themes, etc) contact the original themer. I will redo tabs, icons, clocks etc as long as the original themer is someone who has let their work be shared before. I'm looking to help people, not get into trouble.

is it really that new? there's not any themes out there for it already created and not needing of a remake?
