This morning I realised one great thing, porting Toshiba TG01 D-pad software to Blackstone Can somebody explane me is it possible or not ?

Only time and patience will tell us.
It shouldnt be too hard, with the 2 devices having similar resolutions, but i cant help but think this is of limited use. How are you supposed to select something under the dpad?
Hmm, I had no idea Maybe it have bring to front/back options

i think you can hide the pad just like any other virtual keyboard.
of course, you use the pad when you need d-pad functions(games etc) and not when you need to select something on the screen(in that case you don't need a d-pad, no?).
They stole my idea!
Hey!
I was thinking about this idea few months ago while testing the Touch HD.
I love the HD but sometimes you just need to use a D-Pad, and with the HD you must open the keyboard for that.
Of course, opening the keyboard hides half of the screen so it is not the best idea.
I wanted to develop a virtual D-Pad, one that pops up as a result of some kind of a hardware button.
My only problem was to hack down those arrows commands. I know how to develop all the rest (sticky floating panel).
If someone could help with with how to programically control the arrows - I will be able to create the user interface for the virtual D-Pad.
(Or maybe someone will just port the Toshiba one and that's all... )
The best option would be to try to extract the Dpad Toshiba software from the original TG01 Rom. This shall be easy for the Rom chefs.
I think this application would be really useful.
Update:
I've found that the virtual D-Pad application called Flexipad. great video on http://www.theunwired.net/?item=videoview-toshiba-tg01-windows-phone-software-hands-on
I Hope that someone can extract the application from the ROM of the TG01 as it would be awsome on the Blackstone.
D-Pad TG01
The D-Pad works different from the standard Input Methods.
You can move it all over the screen as you like and it´s Semi-transparent, so that you can even see what´s under it. And you can switch between D-Pad Mode and Touchpad inkl. Mouse-Pointer...
Pretty Nice actually...
Finally there is a ROM update for the TG01 where some chefs can try to extract the application.

any news on this
+vote for it!
I cant think of any reason why this should not be possible. Hope one of you WMpro's can get this working on the HD.
bumping this post
I tried searching a tool to extract applications from a ROM.
Do you know any tutorial?
extract files
something from here can help you http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?auto_redirect=1&pagename=TitleSearch&s=extract
Dump of the Flexipad from TG01
Thanks to arag0n85, the attached dump of the Flexipad.
I coudln't make it run, but maybe someone with better skills may do it.

Hello guy`s i wonder do anyone can make X-Ray for Touch HD what mean this exactly so X-Ray is a fun application its not a real X-Ray scaner its only a gift image but look`s good and on the same time is alot of fun you can trick your friends around and to have alot fun with this app!
I already found this freeware but is with lol resolution if someone can make it to work in HTC touch HD will be perfect and the app to run in full screen!
For example here the latst version of X-ray v3 its run on other 6.1 HTC devices but on Touch HD don`t run good maybe because of the resolution i think!
I know that to run this app you need also "msvbppc" if someone can create this funny app for our devices !
xRay is a joke you can use to make your friends laugh. Using X-ray is incredibly simple! Just start the program, and while it runs, slide your mobile over your hand, following the movement of the hand on the screen. If you practice a bit this will give really funny results!

it only show hand?
Yes look like real X-ray and have few options Infrared Scaner and many more this version show only Hand but if anyone is able to make it for Touch HD can add many more options if add more gif images to show separate finger or fingerprint and etc something like this ! eveyrhting is posible
ah ok only hands.. sad it would be cool if they added foot and head ^^
specially head skull
Hi
Attractive, very attractive as toy, if we can see everything with.....
I have the same problem. I installed different versions of the program, but none of them work fine.
It would be nice if the creator of the program make a new version with G-sensor integration.

The programe is made for small screen resolution for this we have troubles running the program, so some creator can make it for our devices and even much more better with G-senzor enabled or other option with diferent images!
hey! i installed it on my HTC diamond
, works fine but not scanning ! just showing little thumb at bottom right side..!
in help page i read that i have to hold a button in device but i dont have camera button !! what can i do ? how to use it on diamond !?
One app I keep using a lot of the time is the notes application.
Just to quickly jot something down, or to look up something I wrote earlier.
It would be great if there were a new tab integrated into Touchflo (or Sense, whatever)
I know how to do a bit of programming of my own, but no idea how to create something which would add a new tab to another program such as TF3D.
But yeh, I'm just putting the idea out there.
Please comment if you like this idea.
I hope someone out there will find the time to attempt making this, as it would be a great addition for Touchflo.
Heres a little mockup I made:
(sorry for the poor graphics)

Select notes along the slider on the right.
To make a new note, slide to the top one (which is blank)
start drawing on it.
Press the tick button, bottom right to save
To delete, slide to the note you want to delete, then click the delete
button, bottom right.
Thanks Dude, This is totally awesome imho....
very nice idea..
I would also add the functionality of reminder...
Sometimes I need to remember something that Ill quickly note but then even forget to look at it...
so very good idea if reminder was added too...
Are there any DEVs feeling the same?
Thats a great idea.
I agree. That would be a nice thing to have
sorry to go off topic, but where did you get your tray skin for 6.5.1?
Thanks for those who've replied, I really hope a dev actually does something like this.
The skin is the one that came with the ROM im using.
Cant remember what the ROMs called though.
Won't be possible sorry.
As far as I understand it, the code for manilla isn't released by HTC, so attempting to add a tab would be impossible?
You sure its not possible?
A new tab has been made before you know :/
Check this out
If you could find a notes today plugin program you could use the manila today tab program you referenced.
That is not a "tab" persay. It displays the today screen and therefor you can show a today plugin, but not add any specific manilla features.
First off I appologize if this is in the wrong section but I didn't know where to start this thread as both the Topaz and Rhodium have a similar zoom bar above the hard keys, there may be other devices too so it would be great if we could develop such an application to work on all these devices which feature a pretty useless zoombar.
I used to own a Touch Pro (Raphael) and evolved to a new Touch Pro2 (Rhodium), the one thing I miss the most (besides the camera LED) is the D-Pad and Enter button.... when the phone is in portrait mode.
I think this image describes my idea pretty well:

I have no programming skills so I am seeking the great help of all the developers here on XDA. I hope some of you like my idea and post comments and hopefully someone will try and develop this for us to use.
It should have 5 main functions, slide Left, slide Right, tap Up, tap Down, & tap Enter.
What do you think?
im in the same boat, id love to see this come to life.
for the HTC Diamond its possible so it must be possible on this to !!
i'm all for it! i still cant understand the idea that htc had to remove the dpad! :S
anyone working on this?
while i get a touch diamond 2 for chrismas and my father owning a rhodium, we both would be amazed by this mod!
Making the ZoomBar work like Scroll Wheel

bump, this thread needs some serious attention from the developers, i would love a nice xmas gift in the form of this app
THIS WOULD BE ABSOLUTELY AWESOME/AMAZING/BAD ASS!!!! I really like the idea of it and how its shown in the pics on the actual touch pro2.. this def. needs to be developed cause it would be WOW!!
anyone have anything?
still waiting for a developer to see this

i moved from the ppc 6700 apache witht ehexcelent joystick my wife had the mogul and now the touch pro with the dpad. I have the tp2 rhodium and that and the flash are the things i miss most. i actuaqlly did not want to upgrade from the apache to the tp2because the lack of the joystick. for a while itried everything and have given up and just got used to it the way it is. I still miss the one handed contro for reading articles on the web and making phone calls as well moving the cursor to where i wanted it. I sometimes am forced to open the keyboard and use the arrow keys. I used the rhodium keyboard control to assign the up down volume control and the power button as well as the mute button on the back but did not end up using it. i had tap double tap triple tap and press and hold. i tried the actual dpad on the screen but that didnt work for me. the other one that use the zoom control i didnt like becasue you had to slide this one looks much better and looks like it might work. i would be willing to donate to a developer who can make it happen
Hy all.
I and probably meni other users are not happy abaut task manager build in Windows Mobile. It's way to hidden!
Task list shoud be visible from home screen. This is the only way I can see what I have to do in comming days.
Sou I made user interface for this app.
It looks like this:

wow...amazing work....have u made it?
I just put some Sense graphic's together and this came out.
Now we need some developer's to make the hard part, and that is modifying the Sens files.
I'm hoping Co0kieMonster could taka a look at this.
BUMP....Great idea!!!
looks awesome. I wonder how much of this is covered by ptasks.
A manila tab would definetly be awesome but not neccessary for me
I tried ptasks... and gave up, it was too slow for regular uses..
...maybe you give "mvcal" a try (www.portablepim.de)
hence the website is in german, the software will be english after installation. If you prefer german, you can switch to it in options->languages)
or you download directly from here
It cannot only manage the appointment, it also handles the tasks in a fingerfriendly manner and combines it with appointments.
Very interesting, this is the function that lacks to sense. it would be nice to share it ou explain how to made it.
thanks
bump!!! I like this!!
Marty
Really interested too.
Would love to have something like this.
Its an amazin idea..it mus be not so hard for the great Developers here on Xda..
Plz sum1 mak this possible..after making the Call History tabs this one is next!
bump bump bump
Look at here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=659089
Not exactly a new tab, however for sure tasks integrated in Sense
yep, i'm using AHT already, it works..
the thread starters "design" just have more eyecandy... i also looking forward to the day, when a friendly dev will make one

Yep this is just the kind of thing which could be done using the same methods I've used. The whole concept is to remove the difficult sense side and provide a simple way to populate a tab.
If a developer is interested in doing the TodoUtil program (.net side) I can probably provide a shell of the Sense RSSTab which by design is supposed to be generic enough to be populated with any kind of list data.
There are still features I've not yet built into the Sense tab (long press selection, left-hand icon selection, notifications), but as I develop the RSSTab the idea is I can expand what it is able to do.
Even as it currently stands, I don't think there is much that would need to change to get a simple To-Do tab.
I was looking for a way to play Worms World Party on my HD2, and I found this

Worms World Party keypad emulator - a little program allows you to play Worms World Party on devices without a keyboard such as the Omnia II.
Install notes:
1. We move on keypad.exe device.
2. Run keypad.exe
3. Run Worms World Party from the folder / Program Files / Jamdat /
4. We go into the settings and configures the knopkina fire (fire), jump (jump) and flip (flip) (X button is used to exit).
5. Play and enjoy!
Display Resolution: WVGA (480x800)

apparently this works on the Omnia 2, but when I try it with my HD2, the keypad application does not seem to work
we seriously need something like that.. I wish I could help with this, but my programing skill are really bad
did any of you guys try this before?? any ideas for similar program or developing something similar??
Exactly what I'd love to see added to WVGAFIX... Something very usefull on new devices with wide screens.
Since Windows Mobile is basically Windows CE it seems quite possible for an app (like WVGAFIX) to wrap another "child" app (like a game) and run it in as if inside a "window" (the part running the game) contained inside. The "mother" app would show the "child" app and the controls. I'm no coder but it sounds doable (but then again it may just be my lack of knowledge). Seems to me as a most deriable improvement for WVGAFIX.
Here was one of my ideas for a combo of onscreen controls and hw buttons in wide screen devices (check the pic in that post).
MorphGear could be a good starting point (flexible and open source). And who knows... Maybe it would grab some attention back into it and stimulate devs to update or develop new emulator modules.
Here, here and here are some onscreen d-pad apps (but if your app only runs in a non wide resolution you can see how they are not the best alternative...).
And alternatively there are some g-sensor dpad like controllers here and here.
Yet none seems quite complete.
