Hi All
I have used SRS WOW for my Dopod 838Pro for years and loved it.
This is the one enhancement that is a must have for enjoying your music on some decent headphones - way better than HTC's native Audio Booster.
I have messed with the assortment of readily available cab variations (1.2.1, 1.5.1, the arm panel etc), reg hacks to fix the driver issue, resets etc. all for the last few days but cannot get it to run successfully on my TP2.
The issues are:
The 1.2.1 version will install, you can apply the flag reg hack (which works), reset, plug in your headphones and tweak away - great, it works!
The problem is that the TP2 will go into its screen-off sleep mode and just not wake up. You need to remove the battery for it to run again but the same thing happens - bugger!
I have also had the conflict issue with MS Voice Command not being able to start. BTW, Voice Command on TP2 is great!
So, i was wondering if anyone has it or (them both preferably) working successfully on their TP2?
I would really like this to be available for all users as it is really such a great addition to your phone.
Any input greatly appreciated (really want this)....
Cheers to all

I do apologise if this is bad, but i am gonna bump this to keep it going.
I feel that an answer/solution by someone here with great skills would benefit so many of us as this is a very good little addition to the TP2.
Anyone...?
Cheers

Hi All
Still really interested in getting this sorted.
I have tried virtually all available WOW types listed on this site (and elsewhere) with no luck.
I tried one called called "dsixda SRS WOW English.cab" (repacked from a Chineses ROM), this actually ran for a whole day and was really promising, but then my device eventually stayed in sleep mode (like all the others) - sigh. It too caused a conflict with MS Voice Command.
So back to square one - Buger, bugger, [email protected]
Really want these 2 to work as they are a most valuable addition to a good device.
Can anyone put their genius to sorting these out for us all...?
Cheers
Jabberoo
iirc wow hd conflicts with htc audio booster. Will work flawlessly, but you will need to turn off touch flo..........
i did this on my diamond and used SPB shell instead............... Only solution i know of, sorry.
Thx Charms
I see. I was hoping there would be a way to get this happening, by way of someone's insightful genius, as it is a very worthwhile inclusion for our devices.
It's funny that, for me at least, having good sound through headphones is a key element of having this device and it is the one thing that seems underserved in general. HTC's equalizer really pales in comparison to this little cab. Equalisation of sound just doesn't do the same thing...
Maybe that is a cue for a project, disect the SRS app and make one that doesn't share its downsides...??
Cheers to all

Sadly no, it is staggering with the levels of ingenuity on this Forum that this issue has everyone stumped............??
It is the one add-on that makes such an enormous difference when listening to music thru headphones on virtually any device. I think now SRS even make something specifically for iPhone (bloody iphoners!)

Still no good news?
It´s a shame....:-(
It so happened that I installed the SRS WOW HD version 1.5.1.0 yesterday and it's been working like a charm - even the sms notification sounded better than before!
installed SRS WOW and it worked but it caused A LOT of problems
one, i played using the Sense player and i couldnt lower the volume although the meter was showing it was on silent the music was still blairing on my headphones
i unplugged it and plugged it back in and it works, another problem occurs, most of my music wont play anymore :/
gave up on it and i just fiddled with audio booster and got the best setting out of it.....

Which version did you install? I had a problem with SOD from an old version some time ago and had to uninstall it - just seen a new version: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=584626
Haven't tried it yet, but some posts on that thread state works with TP2.
I just tried installing version 2.1 that was posted on the first post of that thread on my unbranded TP2, with Sense 2.1 and Winmo 6.5. Unfortunately, I got a standby of death within 2 hours of installing it. Hope this SOD thing gets resolved eventually.

Yes, installed it myself today and had SOD before I even had chance to use it! I installed it and soft reset as instructed but then was at work and when checked my phone for email... SOD! Thought it was maybe because I had it charging off a PC without Activesync installed, reset and after checking it had rebooted, I went to lunch and it had SOD'd again on my return. Rebooted, uninstalled SRS WOW and soft reset and no SOD all afternoon.
Running latest stock 6.5 WWE ROM with Sense 2.5.
yeah, i hope the wake up gets fix...i would like to use this app....
Wow..thats all I can say. Wow because it actually produced great results and wow because it caused my phone to sleep every time the backlight went out. Uninstalled and no problem since. I was ready to take my phone back.
Seems even not necessary to uninstall, SOD went away by just un-clicking enable SRS tic box, I couldn't figure out how to un-install WOW HD anyway
Got the SOD myself using it. Took it off & everything was fine, but I task 29'd & reflashed my ROM. Wasn't taking no chances.....
Hi,
I'm struggling with the Sleep Of Death issue as well (WM 6.5.5 and SRS WOW HD 2.1). I've even found a fix for Omnia which involved a registry edit that - I'm guessing here - told the device not to hold devices "wav1" and "wav8" when going to sleep mode, but, apparently, what works for Omnia, doesn't help at all for Touch Pro 2.
Anyone who will make SRS WOW HD working on my TP without the SOD will be my hero. Any help?
i want to say this app allows me to listen to the radio while in the shower its that loud!!
when i get out the shower i cant turn my phone back on aggghhh!!!
please a fix???????

Hi,
I have recently upgraded to WM 6.1 and tested various ROMs.
One problem I came across is that on a phone conversation my voice can hardly be heard on the other side
Did anyone encounter this? Any idea what it may be?
Turn off WOW EFFECTS in setting...
I don't think I ever turned WOW EFFECTS on (at least not intentionally).
Where would I find this setting?
as I told you, in settings...
the personal tab.
i also have that problem. been plaguing me for a long long time.
Try a few diff types of roms but make sure they have
1. Start up animation disabled
2. SetAcousticparam in their config file
these 2 are absolutely essential, else your phone voice would be low.
though mine is more or less confirmed to be a hardware problem. if you flash the official HTC asia rom and still get this problem. yeah your case is like mine i guess. other then that, if you find out something else, do lemme know

1) done already
2) where is it?
ringtone volume is very low in 6.1 (19209).
well, with PDAViet Rom I don't have WOW EFFECTS in my personal settings. However, I did find in the Artemis forum a small cab to deactivate the WOW Effects.
Since I installed it the problem is gone!
unfortunately that doesn't work for me. i've tried mine with freshly installed cab files, even those from official HTC, with no WOW effects activated. still doesn't work.
Worst still it's a random problem. soemtimes it works, sometimes it dosen't... oh well..
do you have a2dp headset? I have PDAVIET ROM and bluetooth a2dp headset and every time i finish listening to music, turn off bluetooth i have no sound on my device. No alarms, reminders, ringtone, sms notyfications etc. Had this isue in Faria ROM too.
Hello!
I bought a Diamond for a few weeks ago, unfortunately it's not working very well. Suddenly at random the audio disappears, often when a USB cable is connected. The two solutions i've found is to listen to an mp3 song in wmp for more than 5 seconds, then the audio will pop and scratch and then work again. That works 2 out of 3 times, and the other times i have to do a soft reset. I upgraded the rom to 1.93.413.3 SVE (that is the swedish version), radio is 1.00.25.05, SPL-1.93.0000. I contacted HTC and after explaining that i've done a firmware upgrade, they told me that it is a hardware issue. I contacted my retailer, but they've taken over a month without any response. So my question now is, have anyone had any issues like this? Should i try other firmwares? Radio? If i do, can i easily restore everything back so that i can leave it for repair without them noticing? Is it a bad idea? If i brick it, i guess i'm screwed..
I know some of these questions are answered here, but i couldnt find anything about my sound issue, except some SMS sound issues, that is not the same problem i am experiencing though.. Also, if someone calls me when i have no sound, neither me or the one i am talking to can hear anything.
Thanks in regards
Johan
sounds like a Hardware issue, do anything you can to get in contact with the Vendor, Phone calls, emails anything.
try the attached driver + sound parameters.
taken from ATT_RAPHAEL_1.94.19971 ROM
It seems this driver handle 2 new audio setting files that were not present in the diamond:
FilterFile and PreProcessFilterFile
It is a new sound driver tested on my Diamond and working fine, less glitches, better sound but doesn't change the poor hardware HP unfortunatly.

Hi TekTonik,
I have tried these drivers on my Diamond but it crashes whenever a sound plays. I copied the contents of the OperatorPKG folder to \Windows then replaced the wavedev.dll. I also added the new keys into the registry (FilterFile, PreProcessFilterFile and AcousticFile).
Are you using a cooked ROM with these drivers or did you update them manually? If so, any ideas what I am missing and also which ROM/Radio are using?
Would it be possible to post your registry settings for HKLM\Drivers\BuiltIn\WaveDev please?
The reason why I am trying these drivers is in a hope to fix the infamous sound lag which you can read about here:

Hi.
I am also having the same problem. bought a new set, but there is no sound in standby after about 10 minutes. whatever i do, the music player, screen taps, sound settings - still there's no sound.
the only solution is a soft reset - but that too, works for ten minutes, and then again the unit goes deaf n dumb.
Have tried the thread above (to remove the lag), but still, no improvement.
is there a solution to this problem? can anybody guide me? please?

I have exactly the same issue on my SonyEricsson Xperia X1. I really wonder if that's a hardware issue. What I also figured out: When you do the WM Player workaround have a look at the reception indicator. When the sound comes back my reception is lost for a short time. It seems to me the phone module performs a reset.
No Sound on Diamond
I have the exact same problem, and also in my case it only comes back after playing a music file for more than 5 seconds. Has anyone found a solution yet?
I also have the exact problem above on my diamond. Actually, I feel HTC is really not responsible for their product. Their diamond has been released more than 3 months, till now, still no positive feedback to this.
I AM REALLY DISAPPOINTED ABOUT THEIR ATTITUDE. IF I CAN CHOOSE AGAIN, I WILL NOT BUY ANYTHING ELSE FROM HTC.
I also got this problem
Hope someone can find out whats doing it, i doubt its a hardware issue

sadly it also happend to me, but I think it happend when the batery y less that a 50 %
I don't understand htc spirit : make a phone with an awfull HP sound !!! what did they do with theyr diamond ? playing chess ? or phoning , really a shame !

nope, with a full battery also
Searched in several forums but could not find anything, so apologies in advance if I missed it and please post the link.
Intermittently the sounds quit working for all alarms, events, phone, etc... I go into Sounds & Notifications to test and again, no sound. Soft reset corrects the issue, but it will come back again.
No extra media players installed, only the standard from the orignal ROM. I have Lotus Traveler installed which adds a sound event. On another PDA (Touch HD) I have BB Connect installed and it displays the same problem.
FWIW I have also seen this behavior on Kaisers and Touch HDs.
Thanks in advance for any ideas or, even better, a solution.
Sorry I can't help but I've had a similar problem. The slider sound doesn't work! Even after reset! Try changing it and still nothing! The rest of the sounds still works but they seems much quieter than normal! I don't think I've installed anything dodgy! Just seemed to happen! Any help would be great!
Thanks
same issue found in my Diamond as well. Maybe it's an issue in WinMo 6.1 in general
Actually, none of the sounds work! Just makes a noise when you change the volume! Soft reset still doesn't help!
Does anyone know what I could try please?
I have the same problem with my Touch Pro2. Sometimes suddenly the volume goes way down even though it shows its at its max. The volume is really soft and you cant hear much.
Also when I receive certain notifications I hear a small click which is proberly the first 0.01s of the notification sound it tries to play.
Count me in.....same here. Wonder, if it´s a hardware issue or a driver problem.....
Hoping for an official WM6.5 ROM soon...
Thanks for the feedback. I can tell you that this happens with AT&T Tilt running stock ROMs/WM6 too.
I am still searching for an answer and if I find one I will post it.
Hello,
I have been using Touch Pro 2 from last 7 months. Around 4 moths back i upgraded to Win 6.5. After that i am facing a particular problem. Sometimes i get an error of "Device.exe" and then all the sound from the phone is mute.It doesnt play any sound and even if i answer/make a call, i cannot hear the other party's sound or even when their phone is ringing. There is only vibration. I tried using it with headset, and there is absolutely no sound. After resarting the phone everything is fine. But the error appears the very next day or the day after that, and i just restart the phone. I tried Hard Reset and installing the official ROM from HTC website, still the problem persists. The only software i installed after replacing the ROM were NetCF3.5 & Advanced Configuration Tool v3.3 only. I highly doubt if it causes this problem as i was using it in Win6.1 when i bought the device.
The people at HTC downgraded my device to Win 6.1 and asked me to use it for a week and see if the error comes. I am using it for almost week, and the problem is not there.
Can someone suggest what the problem could be, as i dont like 6.1 as i am now used to 6.5. I dont think HTC will be able to help me soon. Someone please help me in this case.
REGARDS.
Hi, I had a similiar issue with my tilt 2 that I finally figured out was linked to advanced config tools. Specifically the changes I made in the sounds settings. For some reason this muted my microphone and speaker. After changing back those settings to default the problem was resolved. I am running 6.5 on my phone. Hopefully this helps you out.

YOU ARE RIGHT buddy... i was doubting on Advanced Config only..... but i did not made any changes to he sound, i use it for unthreaded messages only...but this time i did not install it, i got the unthreaded sms patch from HTC and installed it, and till now i did not face the same problem, it almost 3 complete days of my usage.....
now i am sure Advnced config is the culprit....
Few more people are having the same problem in my country(UAE) and have complained at HTC, i shall inform them about this...or lets wait for another 3 days to make sure that this problem does not occour.
THANKS A LOT
I had some similar problems with the advanced config running the stock rom with the att tilt2. I've since banished that program from my phone.
Get it? The title is a Star Wars reference. As in developers are Jedi? Like in the movie? Nevermind.
I have been having a strange audio bug recently. I flashed RC Mix Runny v1.0 through to v1.4 and each subsequent ROM version did exactly what it should. No issues that weren't listed on the thread.
Then I flashed Runny v1.5, followed by (after the ROM had booted twice) a theme I made on UOT Kitchen. A few days afterwards, when making a phone call, I couldn't hear the phone ringing through the phone's speaker. Nothing. That's the bug.
This only applies to phone calls (or at least the speaker normally used for phone calls). When I select 'speaker phone' the rear speaker kicks in and I can hear the phone call just fine, though a little loud when walking around in public.
The headset also works perfectly.
I flashed RCMix3d 3.5 v1.0 today - no themes this time in case it was the cause last time. The ROM boots up just fine, everything seems perfect but when I go to make a phone call the same bug presents itself. Meaning it's most likely a bug I have caused, not a bug in a ROM.
But what did I do?! Has anyone heard of this behavior before? Could it be radio/RIL related?
If anyone can shed a little light, I would appreciate it greatly.

While you are searching for hours for a solution, download a different ROM (other than RCMix) and find out if it is really a bug or some hardware issue. And while you wait for the download and flash, keep searching

Thanks for your advice. I heeded it!
I flashed Black Ice [AOSP] to see if it was still persisting. It is.

I was holding back on changing the radio because I don't like higher risk of bricking. Having done it in the past though, I said it was worth a shot before I blame the hardware entirely and hand over money to fix it.
I had been using radio 26.09.04.11 and it's matching RIL with every ROM I tried.
Once changed to radio 26.13.04.19_M and it's corresponding RIL and the problem was erased. I can hear phone calls on the phone speaker again. (Like normal folk!)
Thanks for the push rakinisbat, I needed it!
Edit: NOT SOLVED. The problem has re-surfaced. I have made absolutely no changes to the system since it started working. I am now going to pay someone to take a look and will report back with results.
Definitely not solved.
This problem with the receiver not working has not gone away.
I have tried ignoring it for the last while and just using the speakerphone on a low volume - not ideal but workable.
A few days ago I changed ROM - curious to try out ICS. I load up the new ROM and a while later, accidentally forgot to put a call I was making onto speakerphone and suddenly the receiver is working again - JOY!
Now, two days later, the receiver is not working again.
I have pry tools now and would happily change the receiver, but this recurring trend of it working for a spell after a new ROM is flashed leads me to believe this is more software related than hardware.
If anyone has ANY ideas or thinks they could help (if I provide a logcat to them or something) then please PM me or respond to this thread.

The last time I changed to that radio, my audio bug was fixed (temporarily).
I will update to the new radio (12.65.60.29_26.14.04.28) I saw mentioned a few days ago and see if it changes anything - though I doubt it.
I have done a fair bit of research on this and it is not as uncommon as I thought it was a few months ago. It seems to have happened to the HTC Desire, Desire S and Desire HD - but not en mass. In every case, the phone was working fine, then came intermittent receiver audio, then receiver audio gone altogether.
I have not heard of one working solution, though I have had some helpful people lend an ear!

You say the problem is solved for a while when you flash a new ROM. Is there a possibility that a certain app that you install/restore that maybe messes with the speaker?
Just a thought..

An avenue I had not gone down. I have been restoring mostly the same apps for ages.
Thanks for the idea. I will do a backup and then a fresh install tomorrow (I'm at work) and check. Will report back afterwards.
Ongoing audio issue
I have fully wiped the phone and re-installed a ROM twice now (ICS both times, I know this problem acts the same with GB). I didn't install any apps for a while and had audio in the receiver for phone calls.
The first time I wiped it, I had audio back so decided to install apps from the market - one at a time and test the receiver by ringing the house number after each is installed. I got distracted (it was late) and when I next picked up the phone, audio was gone.
Second attempt, this time stay vigilant. I fully wiped the phone, installed a ROM, and got to work on installing the apps again. I installed a few apps, which I will list here, and audio disappears again.
Installed apps:-
Dictionary.com
Dropbox
Earth
Es File Explorer
Facebook
Goggles (I dunno why, the camera isn't even working - habit maybe)
Google Sky Map
Google+
Messenger
Moon+ Reader Pro
MX Video Player
Streetview For Google Maps
Sugarsync
Tumblr
Twitter
XDA
To my knowledge, apart from MX Video Player, none of the rest these apps should have any effect on the audio.
Today I am going to wipe it and not install any apps for the next 24-48 hours and see if the audio still disappears.
Tune in next time to see if the problem makes my brain crack in two.

I had exactly the same issue. After rooting my desire HD I installed ARHD 6.3.1 and it was working very fine until I installed the ICE HD theme for ARHD 6.3.1. Sorry, no disrespect to the theme author but I was not able to hear anything through Phone speakers after installing this theme. This is what I did to solve this issue,
1- Use Superwipe to clear everything using ClockworkMod recovery.
2- Install the STOCK 1.32 PD98IMG.zip from here. Put it in your SD card, Flash is using the HTC Stock Recovery (It will detect it automatically). Remember that the Kernel and Radio are inside this ZIP file so you need not to install anything else.
That's it. you are back to old stock ROM and now you must be able to hear you phone speakers. If not, switch off your phone for few hours and then turn on. (I know switching off and on sounds silly but it worked for me). You can install any custom ROM after that rooting again.

I had exactly the same issue. After rooting my desire HD I installed ARHD 6.3.1 and it was working very fine until I installed the ICE HD theme for ARHD 6.3.1. Thanks so much for getting on to me, I have been hoping that someone out there solved this issue and might read this little thread!
I will be following your advice today and will report back.
Solution seems good so far!
I'm not going to jump the gun again and say that it is definitely solved but my audio came back!
I did what you said, reverted everything back to stock. When it loaded up Froyo and for the first while, the receiver wasn't working. I set about rooting, Radio S-Off, ENG S-Off, adding CWM etc.
About three hours later (I didn't actually leave the phone off, I reset it a lot though) the audio returned to the receiver!
I'm delighted but remain skeptical as it has come back to life and then died again so many times before.
I want to believe!!!... So I remain hopeful. Time will tell.
It fixed itself...(!)
See post below
Absolutely positively finally fixed.
Thanks to everyone for their help in trying to solve this issue.
I replaced the broken receiver with a new one I got from eBay (along with prytools for under €10) and this issue is completely fixed.
What had happened, if anyone is interested, was that the inside of receiver housing and the output on the receiver itself had been clogged with dust, tiny hairs and the like. That must have shorted the tiny thing.
Lesson learned. Get stuck in.
