hello everyone.
i am a new user of htc hd.
i have found a few apps for my htc but i cant make them work. i have the windows 6.1.
here is what i do.
i sync my htc with my pc, then i transfer (copy and paste) the folders with the programms at my sd memory that came with the htc. i go at the file explorer of htc and i hit the setup file. it opens the opera browser kai then it stays like that. all it shows is a white screen.
is there something i am doing wrong?
so... copy .cab file to the memory card, then find the file through file explorer and run it...
have a fun with your new htc and don't forget to add any new application
here (if is not already there)

It finds all the files when I select to update the library. But when it tries to add them, the the status bar stays frozen and then it doesn't add it to the songs to the library. When I had windows mobile 5, I never had this problem. I have the At&t Version 8525. I can still open the folder and play it though. Small problem, but it bugs me. Anyone know what is going on?
Delete the WDRM folder from the memory card than try again.
solution
using the file explorer delete MSMETADATA folder in the store card on the root directory.
many thanks guys.........
just a small thing, by default the MSMETADATA and WDRM folders are hidden
so you'll have to set your pc to show hidden files, or you could use an alternative browser (such as total commander) on your ppc
try reading the wiki next time. the solution to this problem is in there.
EDIT: heres link to page in wiki about this:

Hey all.
I am owning a HTC Diamond. Indian Version.
when i boot my phone there is an image turning up.
i figured out to be an image called airtel_480X640.gif.
which is in my main windows folder.
i want to either delete the file or replace the pic with an vodafone image.
can anyone guide me on how to delete/replace a file which is protected in the windows folder
If you are talking about changing your splash screen......then just simply use total commander and copy these new animated.GIF file and/or your welcomehead.png files into windows root. Then use diamond tweak 0.5.3 APP to make sure that splash screen animation is enabled.
When coping to Widows, don't copy into any folders but instead in the root of the file.
Why are you making multiple threads for the same thing?
You already got the answer on your other thread.
yoıu can use the free file manager Total Commander for it.
Hi Guys,
I want all of my games apps to be in the games folder, but i have no idea of how to do this (or even if it can be done)
In my games folder atm i have the usual solitaire, teeter etc, but i want all my
other games in there too. (instead of cluttering up my programmes menu)
Could someone please help?
In quite a simple method too, if poss, as im still quite new to all this.
Thanks for reading!
Same here......
Using dutty's 6.5 R4 Muchos......but about to use R6!!!
Open a file explorer (I'm using total commander) and go to \windows\Start Menu\Programs. Here you have all shortcuts (.lnk) you see in the Programs directory. Now cut the links (to be safe just copy and delete them after testing), change to the folder 'Games' and paste them.
As previous quote by other user by moving a games into the games folder and yes i do have same trouble. I try to copy the game and then paste into my "games" folder but trouble is , i only thing i can see it in my handset not my pc, from my handset i cannot copy and paste so therefore i want to do it from my pc. After sync with my pc i try open the folder subcribe by other user but to my suprise there isn't a "Window" folder at all appear in my file explorer. Plz help
this works on the device. I guess that you connect to your pc and what you then see is the storage card and not the device folders.
On the device open file explorer and change to 'My Device' (push the Up button until it doesn't anything anymore) and then follow my description in the post above. (here we paste shortcuts, so choose paste not 'paste shortcut')
P.S.: when copying an exe you can then choose 'paste shortcut'
I did what you posted at 9.59am and its worked.
Exactly what i was after.
Thankyou!!
hi again.
i need to open several .vmg files on htc touch hd. i tried to find a program on net but i couldnt... even any program for pc.
do you have an idea?

Nokia SMS file, stored in plain text. More info here:
http://file.org/extension/vmg
Without having to download special software, you can first try copy the files to PC through ActiveSync, rename them as .txt files by simply add a .txt extension, e.g., filename.vmg to filename.vmg.txt, then open with Notepad.
I have a weird problem with the G4 memory showing all files and folders in windows explorer.
It began with Vuze downloads (torrents), everytime I wanted to see a downloaded file on PC I had to move it from the Vuze folder to another one so windows explorer can see it.
Now more files are not appearing in windows explorer, from both internal and SD card, I reinstalled the drivers 3 times but still my Windows 10 can't see all the files produced on the G4, example I copied an app from system partition to external SD, I can see it on Root Explorer on the G4 itself but not on Windows!
What is the fix?
Yes my phone is rooted
Ok I think I have found the problem:
Some third party apps that write on the G4 memory (SD included) like Vuze will not write it with hidden LG ''permission'' so the files are unviewable on PC.
I updated my Root Explorer app to latest one and now I can see the files I cut or paste with it on Windows.
I have found this ''bug'' thanks to the stock G4 File explorer as it was the only app capable to cut and paste in the G4 memory and let it show in windows.
Vuze looks like it needs to be updated by its maker so the files downloaded are visible in windows, until then I will have to move them using the new Root Explorer or the stock G4 file explorer
