My very first phone was a old Samsung that had a bright blue LED that flashed letting me know I had a new text message or voicemail or missed call etc. (You could see that thing flashing a mile away)
That is one feature I really miss because I often leave my phone sitting on my desk that Im not around very much and repeating notification tones are out of the question.
Is there a way to use the service LED's as notification lights?
I will PM you a link to get a good one... Just check your messages...

This is a fine program.
This program is cool. Thanks. Only problem is the flashing LED alert is too much like the phone service LED. Its stuck in my brain that slow flashing green light is meaningless. Any way to make it use the different colored LED's ??

I know.. I'd like to see the low battery light and the bluetooth light flash alternating.
I think that is possible but I think you might have to edit some registry for that to occur...
what colors are all there? blue, green and orange? or are they multicolor led?

You can stop flashing the green light.
Only when you have a message.

I know that if you use a DontForget with PPC you get the choice of colour of LED "from reading there website" but not sure if possible on SP?
May be worth asking in general forum if anyone knows the reg settings needed?
This is not possible to manage LED (only blinking / off) on HTC s620.

That might work. Didn't think about that.
I still think it would be really cool if we could figure out how to get all the colors to flash or cycle through a patten.
I will try to look into it and see how it goes.
I'm just wondering why I haven't seen the green indicator light on my new HTC Touch Pro 2? ...
The orange one for low battery status is working perfectly but the green flashing one which should be activated if a new sms arrived or a call hasn't been answerd isn't ? ...
Is there a way to check if the green light is damaged or does someone experience the same - that it is just not working?

OK, There isn't a green "ok" light for the TP2. Have a search for "light" in this forum, theres another thread on it somewhere.

sorry ... but according to HTC manual:
http://member.america.htc.com/download/web_materials/Manual/HTC_Touch_Pro2/090429_Rhodium_HTC_WWE_UM.pdf
on page 25 it is written:
* The Notification LED shows a:
Flashing green light when there are new SMS, MMS or e-mail messages, missed calls, or reminders.
Solid green light when the device is connected to the power adapter or a computer and the battery is fully charged.
Solid amber light when the battery is being charged.
Flashing amber light when the remaining battery level reaches below 10%.
do you agree ?
The green indicator on my Pro 2 works fine.
I don't think you went into the right settings.
You need to go into TF3D Settings tab > All Settings > Personal > Sound & Notifications. Make sure you tick 'Notifications (Alarms, Reminders)'
If that doesn't work try performing a hard reset.

So it doesn't blink green to indicate we're in service area... unlike my old TyTn2 and most other phones including my wife's blackberry which blinks green to indicate we have signal coverage.
Any hack to change the settings? Pretty useful if we're in a rural area and need to quickly see if we have coverage or not without turning the phone on.
example:
blinking green to indicate signal coverage
blinking amber for missed calls, message etc.
Anyone know what it means when it the lights flash orange-green or amber-green?
Red-Green alternating?

. . I'm right now using Internet Sharing in a laptop connected to my Tilt2 (TP2 from AT&T) using the EnergyRom. It was solid green, because it is plugged and the battery is full--which is ok and expected.
. . Some minutes ago it started to blink in a unknown pattern, like: "quick green, quick pause, quick red, long pause. repeat". I think it's the same doubt from jmmmmm above. Anyone knows what it means? It is still plugged, the battery is still 100% and there is no new notifications (I'm not a popular guy: no calls, no messages, no emails, no reminders, alarms... nothing).
. . Thanks.

that means it's overheating.. charging produces heat, and so does using wifi, bluetooth, gps, and using the phone itself..
i remember charging the phone on a hot day, and putting the phone on top of my laptop (which gets hot at times), and those lights showed. and the phone was hotter than ever.
the post above is infact correct! I was wondering what it meant for a while, but then one day, I left my phone plugged in in the car, and those lights were freakin out. I just wish I could make it do that when I get an SMS or when Im gettting a phone call

. . Thanks for the tip. In fact, that day I tried the GPS and bluetooth tethering, which rendered my mobile really hot.
. . This should be in some manual or something. I couldn't find any reference for that--and it sounds pretty dangerous to let your phone overheat for long time.
Hi, I'm using QIP PDA for Instant Messaging on my touch pro. I have activated the led blinking in the prefernces of the software but it doesn't work. Any idea what I should try to get a green blinking LED when I receive a new message?
Thanks!

I'm not sure whether they can help me. I will post a question, but the members of the QIP Forum are primarily specializing in questions about QIP. I think the green blinking LED is more an problem of the touch pro 2. (Registry etc.)
Anyone get Light Flow and Go SMS working together? I can't get the notification LED to work whether it's using GO SMS's built in "blinking LED" function or using Light Flow.
When attempting to use light flow, I turn off the "blinking LED" option in Go SMS. I've also tried using the alternate monitoring options.
Still not working.
EDIT: Well, I ended up uninstalling Light Flow. Notification light works again. I just can't customize the LED color. Guess I'll have to wait until Light Flow gets updated to work with the S III.
Also, even though Go SMS "blink LED" works, the color settings are messed up. The color you pick doesn't correlate to what shows up. Must be an app issue as well. But hey, at least it works.

Both my and my dad's sgh-i747 displays the wrong led colour.
Blue comes out as red, green as magenta, etc.
I'm starting to think its a problem with all north American versions of the.phone? My friends with the i9300 don't have this problem!

Yeah the hex codes are all messed up in the NA version, so regardless of what program you are setting the colors with they're almost opposite. Yellow = White from my experience if anyone wants white haha
I'm so glad this got brought up, but it's a shame nobody's found a fix yet. It's such a subtle, yet mindblowingly irritating thing. Mine is sold red, no matter what I change in both the system LED settings, or the GoSMS settings. I haven't bothered with LightFlo, since everyone reported the mis-representation of color changes in the settings.

If your on a twiz rom the colors are gonna be all messed up. For example if you use light flow to change the color of the led you'll notice that the color you set it to be is not the color it is. This is an os problem. If you flash a stock android based rom like cm9 cm10 or aokp they will be fixed.

Now this is some handy info. Does this apply to someone having CM9 or 10 AND GoSMS as well?
Has anyone figured out how to change the LED frequency without downloading apps like LED flow? I am looking for something like a build.prop mod.
Thanks

Also looking for it. Looks like it flashes every 20 seconds. You have to watch your phone to see that it had received a message or something.

Literally just got done setting up Light Flow - https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.rageconsulting.android.lightflowlite&hl=en
You have to enable it under Settings>Security>Notification Access. Then disable it under Settings>Accessibility>Services. Enable LED in Settings>Display>Notification light, and click on Notification light and uncheck all EXCEPT downloads apps.
Kind of a pain but worth it because you can set custom vibrate patterns, LED flash frequency and color

I've just attempted this and no go.
1. Went to Settings>Security>Notification Access and enabled Lite Flow Lite.
2. Went to Settings>Accessibility>Services and ensured Lite Flow Lite is OFF
3. Went to Settings>Display>Notification LED and turned off all the apps (incoming call, missed calls, etc..) Does the Parent "Notification LED" have to be ON or OFF?
4. In Lite Flow, changed Gmail to Blue
5. Ran the test feature: No LED appeared.
6. Turned off screen and sent an email to my phone. NO LED appeared.
Anything I missed?
