KS20 Video Recording/Saving Problem - Upgrading, Modifying and Unlocking

Alright. When I use my KS20's camera for video recording, it seems to work relatively alright, storing on internal storage and using 3gp format @ "super fine" quality. The recording looks fine as I watch it actually record (the camera screen seems to be fluid as I pan around/following what I'm recording). BUT HOWEVER. When I go to -watch- the recorded video on my phone itself (tcmp and wmp) OR on my XP home PC, the video is choppy. The video automatically saves to internal memory...but gets a huge problem when I try and play it (records smooth, and plays back really horribly).
Every 4-7 seconds there is missed/stuttering frames which makes the video very irritating to watch.
This just generally loses the quality of the video due to the slow playback due to these frame issues.
If ANYONE can assist me with this, I would be eternally grateful. I've been trying to figure this out for a long time, and I hope someone can help me.
I will be watching this thread for any answers, and will reply with any further information.
Thank you!
-David Harrison.

KS20 Stuttering/Laggy Video Recording

I've recently been noticing when I actually went ahead and utilized the video recording functions of my KS20, that it stutters horribly during recording - as in, it literally freeze-frames every few seconds of video, which makes any recordings really horrible to watch. I know on my old phone, which had the same sort of 2MP camera, I never experienced such issues.
Is there a driver patch or update I can be directed to in order to rectify my problem?
Cheers for any assistance.
-David.
try to record on internal storage
I have it set to internal, and there's plenty of space for it to use to store the video. It just keep stuttering - with plenty of ram free as well. I'm quite lost as to what's the problem exactly.
Sorry to resurrect my old post, but I'm still having the problem despite fiddling around with it insistently, to no avail.
Basically, I'm storing on the internal memory, with plenty of RAM free (original ROM as well). I record video and every 2-3secs it freeze-frames or stutters for a moment, and does not stop (recorded 5mins and it kept doing it). I really need to understand whether it is a software issue, or an issue with the firmware, or if it's hardware and i need to get it repaired. The camera takes perfectly fine photographs and i have no other problems.
Any ideas/fixes that I could be informed of would be great.

[Q] video playback issues with latest OTA

Got 2.2 from the latest OTA and have been encountering some video issues. Just wondering if anyone else has them, and if there are fixes.
The major issue I have is videos lag and stutter. With 2.1, 720p videos recorded from the rear camera worked flawlessly. Now, those videos have short stuttering pauses every second. It makes it very hard to watch. 480p videos do not exhibit this problem.
Is it because the data is not being streamed off the SD card quick enough? Some evidence to that is that the thumbnails in the Gallery take noticeably longer to show up.
In 2.1, when I long press on a video in Gallery and select Details, it would show resolution and framerate. This info is not present in the current Gallery. Is there a fix for that?
I'm particularly interested in framerate, because in 2.1, I noticed that videos would be recorded at low fps when the lighting was dark. (some vids I have even dropped to 10 fps!) Perhaps HTC couldn't fix the low fps recording problem and instead just swept it under the run by not displaying the framerate info at all.
Videos played through Rockplayer worked fine in 2.1. Now, the audio is just loud static. Is this related to the codec change in 2.2?
When I come across a .3gp video file with Astro, clicking on it will come up with a "3gp file type missing" message. A workaround of longpress-> open will open it, though.

cant play any video on stock gallery, help!

actually i hv suffered from this problem for a long time
it says "sorry, this video cannot be played" in any sense rom if i play any video on it. even those recorded by using camcorder. but i can play them by clicking the thumbnail on the camcorder (on the bottom left of the camcorder after recording)
but still, i can view videos by using other apps
pls help thx
More people got this issue. I had it once, and I think I know the solution.
I had a lot of videos on my HOX. Some of them could'nt be played since I don't have the right codecs/decoders on HOX(example mkv files). Weird thing was they show up in gallery, but every video I played stoped after max 10 seconds of playing (even those that were working before).
After that I deleted the video's which can't play due missing the right codecs. After deleting them I tried again, and suddenly all movies work again.
Don't know if this is the right solution, but it worked for me. And an other work-around is to use a other media player. MX Player does a solid good job.

Streaming video issue

Hello. So when watching live streams through an app called Twitch, I encounter massive screen tearing. If I set the video quality to any quality other than auto, I get what looks like a vertical sync bug, where the video doesn't line up with itself properly. I attached a screenshot for clarity. Even when I keep the video quality set to auto, the video will freak out and glitch every 30 seconds or so. I can always hear the audio smoothly, and the frames are still being updated within the fragmented video pieces I receive. Note that streaming video on any other app (Opera, YouTube) works perfectly fine, regardless of what resolution I set the videos to. I am running the final Beanstalk KitKat 4.4.4 release, and haven't had problems with Twitch videos on Lollipop, but Lollipop's instability encouraged me to roll back to KK. I've tried forcing GPU acceleration and disabling HW overlays to no avail. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

Camera crash, phone reboots & video doesn't run

While recording a video (<3 min) my phone hangs then reboot and then i can see the video file exists but does not play.
I have ample storage <7GB on phone and phone has heating problem when recording a video.
This happened everytime i record a video greater than 3 mins.
Need help on how to recover this video!
Being a tech guy myself, i think video does not have closing signatures (like stuff) as a result video players assume this as corrupted video but this is my wild guess, require expert from google to help.
