About a year ago poorlyduck made some nice welcome screens for 96 dpi 240x320 devices. These can be found here. I liked the first one very much but I have an Xperia, so I went back and made a very similar image from scratch at the required resolution.

Installation instructions: Use Total Commander or similar to copy the file named welcomehead.192.png into your device's Windows folder. It's probably also a good idea to back up the original in case you ever want to go back to it.
All credit for design to poorlyduck.
Feel free to add your version on it somewhere or resize for any WM device. I've added a 1600x1600 version in case WM ever gets on a device bigger than 800 pixels.
Enjoy!
If you want to go back to the original, you just have to rename this one in the windows folder and restart your phone
thanks!

I dont like this ugly keypad i want the old one.
When the phone starts up and stuff, the Regular nice looking HTC keyboard show ups but then once it restart this ugly things come up, i have yet to tinker with the keyboard when cooking rom, all i tinkered with was 4 image file editing them in photoshop.
Can someone help me to get back the htc cool keyboard? please help.
I take it this has to do with editing the OS.NB file? if so how would i be able to edit this..?
Hi
I know this sound as a totally not important thing - but if possible i'd like to get feedback from our Chefs..
With the shipped ROM of the Hermes the WDMC shows the Hermes image next to the list of option.

With all cooked ROM Hermes image disappears and I see the 'generic' PDA.
(it do not happen with for example cooked Prophet Roms)
Any idea how can I have Hermes photo in WDMC?

I've made a few changes to my bootup screen and I thought I would share with you all. Changes are as follows:
Changed HTC part of the boot to include another android
removed annoying noise after the little android waves
Attached is a copy of my bootscreen folder.
This is the modified HTC portion of the startup.

Only tested on 2.73.405.5 rom.
If anyone has some good photoshop skills then we could make a good little startup screen.
PS. I don't take credit for the modified GIF (I just found it on the net somewhere).
Many thanks i was looking for someting like this
Made an update.zip from your files and signed it, so you can flash it. (attached)
You should add it to the Themes/Bootscreens wiki.
PS. confirmed to work on Hero with a 1.5 custom ROM (Kimera 1.5).
I just updated the links in the original thread in "Android Themes"and thought i might as well post it here as it is suitable for our screens.
I wanted to create a very small(file size),simple and smooth bootscreen, and decided to base it on cyanogen-mod logo.
As i've described above the file size is very small, less than 500kb!!, and runs extremely smooth.
40 png's x12 fps

good one, like
wow.like very much. it work´s in cyanogendmod 9 IML74K 4.0.3 for sgs2.. thanks for the job..
pd. work´s perfectly.
So I have absolutely no clue where the best place is to post this, with the forum being horrendously cluttered with sub categories.
Before Adobe had released Photoshop Touch for Phone I had downloaded a modded tablet version from a thread that presumably has since been locked/deleted. The original tablet app maintaned the original icon and button sizes, making it very cramped on my Note 2's screen. The modded version was fixed so that everything was in scale in relation to the resolution.
Maybe I'm stuck in my ways, but I far more prefer the tablet layout over the phone layout of Photoshop touch. I paid for the phone version as soon as it released to support, but now it would be great to be updated a bit. How could I go about changing this myself?
Here are screenshots of 1.3.0 mod and 1.5.0, respectively:
