Hey there. I just installed the custom startup animation on my X1, the one that looks and sounds like Windows 7 is booting.
That lead me to wondering - instead of going to the boring PIN entry screen after the startup animation, wouldn't it be possible to make a PIN entry skin with the Win 7 logon aestethics? With a user customisable user tile and floating numbers under the logo and such? Something like this attachment(of course, we wouldn't need the while keyboard).
Hope this is a possible idea, it would really be great looking

this is my first winmo phone so far
along its good features there are some bad ones
in comparison to other phones i used
its alot more complicated and dinasaur like user interface(at least for finger tapping)
i already lost my stylus which is gay... it caught onto something today and is now M.I.A. (only had it for 2 weeks)
the menus are way too small for normal finger and i dont have any nails.
i didnt nottice any major increases in the amount of tweaks besides registry editor. but that is acomplished by other means in many other phone OSes. like patches and editing the install files.
as far as actual user interface there are random one liners here and there.
for example: a pretty common guide you find in alot fo phone forums is how to create your own skin(theme) even software for it is available and beeing developed. not for WINmo.
you would think there would be much more flexibility in creating your own unique user interface. but as far as i know its opposite.
most of the skins are just wallpaper and color variations.
with same layout and menus.
now heres what i need help with
im using leaked TMO rom with 6.5
today window:
can i move the clock to the top bar?(im not that blind, the digit animations are cool for first few days...) i jsut want something simple.
can i make the weather tab more transparent?
can i get rid of call history and calendar buttons?
can i switch the camera and all people soft buttons?
can i make the shortcuts like they are on blackberry phone so it will show selected shortcuts wen i press one button without scrolling?( one of the cooked roms had something similar where shortcuts were under calendar scroll up)
then.
how can i arrange the start menu in windows style but with medium sized icons i hate scrolling thru a long list of programs.
is there a setting to go straight to INBOX and ALL messages? because the preview is very annoying. i still have to press a button to view. theres no purpose for it besides being cool at first.
thats it for now
forgot one more thins
how can i select an item without activating the link?
in other words "mouse-over" since theres no cursor when i tap it automatically selects and opens the item. i fkn hate that. when you try to select something in order to go to menu and it activates the item so i have to close it and start again.
like tapping on a phone number it starts caling right away WTF. makes me not want to use alot of features when i have to do everything twice..
SPB Mobile Shell
Too long try to minimize writings so people dont get bored
have you checked SPB Mobile Shell? .. its a really good customizable UI
http://www.spbsoftwarehouse.com/products/mobileshell/
It sounds like you just don't like the HTC Sense interface. As mentioned, SPB Mobile Shell is a very popular alternative. Otherwise, there are countless other Today screen plugins available (but many are outdated and require stylus). Or perhaps the default WinMo 6.5 Titanium interface will suit your needs?
im not sure if it comes with the winmo 6.5
whats the difference between sense and touch flo? if any

default WinMo 6.5 Titanium interface is the normal Windows Mobile 6.5 UI, the one with the one list and you go up and down and scroll vertically.
Manila 2.0 = TouchFlo3D 2.0 (No weather on the clock and no shortcuts above the tabs)
Manila 2.1 = TouchFlo3D 2.1 = Sense 2.1 (Weather on the clock, and no shortcuts above the tabs)
Manila 2.5 = Sense 2.5 (Weather on the clock + Shortcuts above the tabs)
you probably have WM6.5 with Sense 2.1 (A.K.A TouchFLo3D 2.1 A.K.A Manila 2.1)
you can either use the default WM6.5 UI (A.K.A Titanium interface) or Sense 2.1 (A.K.A TouchFLo3D 2.1 A.K.A Manila 2.1) or install SPB Mobile Shell for a whole new experience.
hope things are a little bit clearer
what about the inboxes is there any way to get rid of that dang preview screen and go straight to inbox for txt and email?
After changing my original ROM to Topix 3.4/WM6.5 the thing I am really missing is the old screenlock which kept showing the regular screen (possibly with an application running) and just saying "Unlock" at the bottom right corner. The new one with slider is cool and it has the clock but I am often using apps that I want to be able watching while the HD is securely locked so that I can put in my pocket for the most of the time. One of examples is hiking with OziExplorer. Checking the map/position now requires unlocking every time I get the phone from the pocket, then locking it back. Annoying. Unfortunately Ozi's native display lock does not block the bottom buttons so is useless for HD.
Is there any "transparent" screenlock app available for WM6.5?
This is really easy:
Open some registry editor on your device and find this key:
HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Shell\LockScreen\Enable and change value to 0.
And new WM 6.5 slide lockscreen is gone.
Hello,
I've been programming for quite some time on Windows/linux, and I just started developing for WinMo. I must say, when it comes to UI, there really isn't much out there.
What I am trying to do - and if anyone out there knows of any good tutorials or example code, that would be excellent - is make a figure friendly Multi-Level ListView Control for .net CF 2.0 (I need to support WinMo 5.0-6.5) The multi-level part is that when an item is selected, the current ListView slides to the left and a new ListView slides in from the right (I know it's a bad example, but like how the iPhone Multi-Level menus work)
I have been searching the internet and have not found any information on how to do this. My idea for how to create a control like this would be something like this:
MenuControl:
Array of ListItem Controls
Panel that expands in height according to the number of ListItem Controls
ListItem Contro:
Graphic on the left side
Text describing the item
Optional MainControl object for when item is selected
OnSelect Event handeler
When the Even is fired, the local MainControl is loaded
Once MainControl is loaded, using a 15 milsec timer, decrease x position of both controls for 800
Is this a good way of doing the UI? Any help would be excellent
Hi!
have a look at my SliderList. It does exactly what you described...
Hello.
After uninstaling CHT2 (where i made changes with lockscreen) my Manila interface load some original lockscreen (on screen attached).
I was suprised becouse its look pretty well. Only arrange of slider and clock is not comfortable but idea is great.
My question is:
How to switch between new-manila and windows-original lockscreens?
How to find display files to modify place of those graphics/fonts?
Hello
This mode is possible only with registry editor
Recipe:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\software\microsoft\shell\lockscreen\oem
CustomUIDLL
value:\windows\CustomLockScreen.dll (for HTC sense lock screen)
value:\windows\LockScreen.dll (for default windows lock screen)
* delete custom word in value
Thanks kio4961.. For this wonderful Registry Tweak for LOCK SCREEN.. That has just made my Lock Screen more Beautiful.. Thank You.!!

Funny. I got set ...\CustomLockScreen.dll and like we see - lockscreen is windows default.
Hello guys!
I love the Windows start screen, the tiles, the metro UI, whatever it's called.
I really hope you can help me out because I can't find any solution to my request all over the whole internet.
What I want is a tile on the Windows start screen namend "Office" and clicking on it opens a whole new tile layer (like the start screen) but just containing my office apps like word, excel etc. as tiles (not regular desktop shortcuts)
I would like to do so with games too.
This new layer can be on full screen (maybe with a "back" button) or inside a quarter depending on the amount of icons it contains like it is with folders on Android home screens.
I don't want to "spam" my Windows start screen over with hundret of games and other stuff to keep me scrolling to the right like a minute before I get to the shortcut/tile I want.
Also I don't want to make a folder on the regular desktop containing all office shortcuts and pin it to the startmenu because clicking on it will open a "usual old ugly explorer window". But I want it to open in the same style as the main start screen is. Either in a new layer or a folder like window like in Android. When I looked this up the last days I couldn't believe there doesn't exist anything like this already because it keeps the start screen much cleaner and is a great feature for Android start screens.
So... is there any solution?
Cheers from Germany
Tarik
PS: If I was not allowed to ask for this here, sorry. Couldn't find any other corner to do so.
General would have been the right place, as this is a request rather than something you're offering, but it *is* a good idea.
Such a shame no one's got a solution. I wonder whether a gif animation showing what I want may would help?
Feel free to make one, but I think people have a pretty good idea what you're after. It's not that easy to make, though. Microsoft hasn't technically prevented people from implementing something like this, at least on x86/x64 Win8, but they have hidden/failed to document the APIs we would need.
