New to the forum, interested in upgrading my HTC touch II from WM 6.0 to WM6.1, Contacted HTC Support in Australia and the answer was not available.
This site was suggested to me, can anyone offer advice to point me in the direct where I can get the updated WM 6.1 ROM/instructions. Details of the device are below.
Purchased in Australia
Outright device not locked to Carrier.

ROM date : 10/02/07
CPU OMAP850, 201mhz,

Hi all, I have dopod C720W (unlocked) no carrier. How to check whether my phone is CID locked or no? I really want to upgrade my phone to WM6, is there any available ROM for C720W? thx
Same as a Dash or a HTC Excalibur.

I installed Rogers certificate and started the Rogers WM6 ROM but the installation failed at 3% - my device is not supported but I have a Dopod C720W
Any idea?
The HTC website also provides a ROM which I can not download as my device is recognices as Dopod instead of HTC S620. I´m waiting for an answer of the HTC support team to get this fixed...

I successfully installed Rogers ROM in my Dopod C720W..I exactly followed the instructions from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=329605 and http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=327757
I have a HTC S630 device purchased in the US but it seems from the HTC website that this phone is either dead or unsupported.....
....so, I want to upgrade the shipped ROM to the latest new ROM from Dopod (from ftp://ftp.xda-developers.com).
When I try the upgrade (despite Dopod and HTC being the same company now !!) it prevents me upgrading with the INVALD VENDOR_ID message.
Does anyone have a reliable (preferably free ) method for unlocking the HTC Cavalier device so that I can load any other ROM onto it ?

Newbie here. I have a HTC TyTN (Vodafone V1605) on the Vodafone Ireland network. I would really like to upgrade it to WM6 to use with my new Exchange Server 2007 and I have looked through a lot of these threads and I am experiencing a severe case of information overload
I also couldn’t find any information specifically related to performing an upgrade with a Vodafone Ireland device and I’m afraid of bricking my phone.
Could any of you more experienced members direct me to the information I need or give me some pointers?

read the info in here relating to HARDSPL, I would also suggest SIM and CID unlock if you plan to change the radio version, do that before HARDSPL..

you should then be able to upgrade to any ROM you fancy. The ROMS themselves are typically non branded apart from where the CHEF has put some of their pickies in there.
dude any rom upgrade will be just that, a rom upgrade.the settings for vodafone etc will need to be updated manually later.

I just downloaded the new ROM image from HTC's Asian website as my Diamond Touch was bought in Hong Kong. Much to my surprise, right after showing that the procedure had started and was at 1%, I got the following error message:

Has anyone seen this error message, so far? Any clue if there is a work around?

Same problem for me as well
Today i tried flashing my Diamond bought from India with HK rom 1.93.831.1 i do got the same error , i suppose this ROM is not for the model i have and i suppose the same applies to you . so better go for some other ROM thats available in this site.
right now i am using cooked ROM of shine.

HTC Touch Pro2 (T7373): Does anybody have a valid Singapore serial number for this model that they could share with me? I live in Taiwan and bought this phone here last year. As only Traditional Chinese (CHT) language version is available in this market, the HTC retailer here installed the Worldwide English (WWE) language version of WM6.1 which I believe came from Singapore.
Now I am trying to upgrade to the latest WM6.5 (ROM version: 2.07.707.1), but still again, only the CHT version is available to download from the HTC Taiwan website. Therefore, I need a valid Singapore serial number for this phone model in order to download the WWE version from the HTC Singapore website.
Have already tried the serial number HT961L100031 that was previously posted on this site (06OCT09 – Active Stock HTC ROM serials) but it doesn’t work. Any help will be most appreciated!
