hi, i'm looking for some help.i overide my origional shellres.192.dll file.is it possible someone can copy it from their phone and attach it here for me! much appriciated. next time i would backup before doing any mods...

If you go into windows and delete the file and then soft reset it gets replaced with an original from the root of the ROM.

i tried that but it seems the file cannot be deleted cause its a rom file.i used recso explorer and total commander same message! any other ideas? i'm able to replace the file with another one which i did to change the cursor icon forgeting to backup the origional.now i want to switch back to the origional and can't cause i no longer have the file!

You may not like it but a hard reset would be your option. There may be differences with other peoples ROM which could cause more problems than you want.

hey thanks allot....but i found that file on the forum already it does not work, for my hd it was allot larger than that! was this extracted from your hd?
anyone else can help me without me having to hard reset my hd? the only thing i want is the origional wait cursor file...help!

what rom are you using? i.e. is it wm6.1 or is wm6.5 based?
I've got stock taskbar icons cab install for both wm6.1 and wm6.5 which will revert your device back to original state i.e. the default taskbar icons saving you the hassel of not hard reseting! is this any good to you? if so I can upload here or give you download link!

Ok here you go find attched cab You may need to install sdkcerts.cab first and then install the wm6.5 taskbar cab!

ROM version: 1.14.405.3 (22273) WWE wm6.1...would it be possible to have the shellres.192.dll file only?
All i'm trying to achieve is to get back the origional wait cursor and the start menu icon!the shellres.192.dll file i installed over the origional had those two items modified.everything else is fine just those two items i want to get back, thats why i need the origional shellres.192.dll file.

Here you go! just unzip attached file and copy over to windows folder using either resco file explorer or total commander!

You can always rename the file and put .bak at the end.

Editing the file Hello, I want to be able to do this but not sure how to edit the file as it has no file extension. Also, I would like to launch opera mini but its a java midlet so unsure how to reference it directly like you would do a programme. Any thoughts? Thank you!
Totally stuck Hi guys, I am totally lost here. I kindda understand what the Wiki explains but to use it I get stuck. I am completely new to this whole business. bought a used blue angel (everything working on it) with a WM 2003 on it italian language. all I wanted was to swith from italian to english (or WWE as you guys call it). I do know that my ROm is 1.12.24 ITA Radio 1.03 and no value for extRom. that is what it showed when I tried to use one of the numerous updates available on XDA. first it showed me error 102 checksum error then country ID error. so I used the Ruu file and added the Checkceid_1 command as u suggested on wiki for blue angel. anyway I am stuck. now even the WM2003 italian is no longer available since I hard-reseted my BA. all I see now on the screen is windows mobile with some italian gibberish under it. Serious help needed please. Thank you

Copy the link to the Windows directory on your phone. This will make the IE button bring up the Task Manager. If you want it to execute something else, edit the link. I used Total Commander for the editing.

Click to collapse i wanted to copy them to my computer. i've got rom 3.7 from VIC but when i coppyed them to my PC it only showed 30 of the 1069. and when i opend them with manila editor it showed all files, but the pictures were weird and not correct. and some were correct... dont know what went wrong but i tried it 4 times and 4 times the same (sory for my english) thanx all

Cook another start menu icon into rom?
Hey guys! Allright i know i have posted this in the blackstone forum but it dosn't seem like i can get any help there so now iam trying here .. It might seem like iam at a haste but i want to get my rom finished and this is my last issue before its ready.. I want to replace my start menu icon with one that i have made by myself.. However i can't make this work.. If i open the Shellres.192.dll file with Reshack and navigate to Icon -> 292 and replace the icon with my own one. Save the Shellres.192.dll file and sign it with msigner.. And then finally replace the one in my SYS\Base_DPI_192\Shellres.192.dll\shellres.192.dll file with the newly modified one.. it just shows my old ordinary start menu icon.. :S What am i doing wrong here ? There is a dedicated thread about customizing the taskbar here on xda. I think you need to add the file including the land code. So you need to add 0409 for English for example. You can easely check the file on your device before cooking.

Hello, i had the same problem. Changed the shellres file in the sys folder, but then I had the original cooked in. I copied then my own shellres file in the OEM folder at Operator Package. If i cook the rom, then you get the massage, thet the shellres in SYS folder gets overwritten, by the own one from the OEM folder. I used bepes kitchen to cook my rom. For me this works great. Maybe it helps

But should i then delete the one from SYS ?

Hi guys, today i was thinking about to integrate the tsowentaskbar5v1.7 in my new rom. So i downloaded the dll´s ( http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showpost.php?p=572437&postcount=7 ). But now i dont know exactly what to do... Is it sufficent to overwrite the old the dll´s with the new ones from the package? thanks to tsowen for the amazing icons and your help buddies!

Click to collapse You have to edit the CPR with the font that you like. Place new font in windows directory of phone and edit CPR with new font. If you are using WM6.5 by Ookba then you have to edit the file name : Titanium_320x240.cpr. Find this file pn your phone, then copy it to PC, where you can use notepad to edit the file. Once done, you need to copy it back to phone.

Ok so once I find (Titanium_320x240.cpr) I edit it to ("file name".cpr) or whatever font I want and put back into windows on phone? I have a notepad to edit the file name on my phone so that shouldent be a problem.. Thanks in advance!..

No.. you don't edit your Titanium 320x240.cpr to "file name.cpr" You have to edit the content of the cpr. Please refer to the link on my previous post.
Ok ill mess with the tut but Im using 3vo series rom wm 6.5, not ookba.. Is ookba more stable then 3vo? I know thats kinda off subject but I havent messed with ookbas roms before, just askin.. thanks!

He is one of the best chef for our phone.
oh haha ok thats what I was wondering.. I didnt realize it was ookba! I think ill just stick with having the different font in My opera mini browser. Im afraid to mess with the registry besides I was having a hard time with It.. I dont want to erase My font then id be stuck not bein able to use My phone at all, LoL.. Click to collapse If you are no longer using the font you can rename the extention with Total Commander or Resco Explorer eg: font.ttf to font.bak then restart phone and delete it.
