does anyone know if/where i can get a working gps navigation for the island of Mauritius? it should work with the artemis, but i dont care what application.
i am not looking for warez here. i am searching for a place to buy/download it

I guess you mean tomtom maps because of your Artemis:

Hi, I think no such tomtom maps exist, but most propably you won't be needing a navigator. Mauritius is too small, and even if you feel lost, people are very friendly and willing to help... i've been there in 2003, and it was very easy to drive there...

I have find a way to create a Mauritius map on my tomtom one V2
I use the TTmaps fonction , and i have built a mauritius map in ECW format
To built this map, I started with a google map , and I made the right calibration
it works well.
The TTmaps fonction can be read here

for people interested , i will send the Mauritius in ECW format with right calibration

Hi mate, i had an interaction with Satguide, couple of months back. They are the only(as far as i know) or one of the very few GPS providers in India. You just need to drop in a mail to [email protected]
And you'll get call from them, their head office is in Banglore, i think.
If you go for it, just make sure that their maps are updated on regular basis.

i was told that artemis with WM6 comes with free maps for diff states in india... out of which bangalore is one of them.
can any one pls upload them here ?
and also the diff ways and diff application which are free... to be used to use the GPS in bangalore.

go to your local shop and buy it.
or if you have a data plan...use google maps/windows live search.
(if they work in India, I imagine they do...)
it works.. but this handset which i have is from T-mobile..(wifi chip is not present) so its not possible to use WIFI for data connection. and gprs is kinda slow and costly as well.. if there is a map available. it will be very easy to navigate in the city.. thanks ne way.. if any one finds a map to india.. pls post in the thread..

you won't find warez here on xda. maybe this thread is useful for you:

I bought in HTC 3000 in chennai, and I got the MAPKING software with one map, I selected chennai map. But the map is not accurate, so I use freeware google maps which is very accurate but find route option doesn't work in google maps, have to buy google navigator.
can u post that MAPKING SOFTWARE here on this thread?

I have for all GCC countries for Garmin and iGo V8.0. Both works well on HD.
Garmin map is awesom and work grate.
I may upload maps on Rapidshare if you want them.
