SPB Mobile Shell in WM 6.1 or 6.5 better ? - Touch HD Themes and Apps

Hi guys
Has anyone noticed whether installing SPB Mobile Shell (3.0+) over WM 6.1 or 6.5 makes a difference. I am running Dutty's WM6.5 ROM but also much prefer the interface of SPB shell. Would installing a WM6.1 ROM make any difference in speed etc ?
Cheers

I tried on Miris 18 (6.5) and with laurentius2.5 (6.1). With both works great, so really deppends on the flavor u want to give to ur HD.
If the rom come with manila, u just can disable it from the today settings.

PS: Seems that laurentius 2.5 has some improvements due the new video drivers proyect from neo, and it seems that MS3 works a little bit faster in refreshing icons and the carrusel tab (but this may be subjetive )

SuperLite ROM (6.1) + MS3 works perfect. Battery holds many Days and it runs so extremely fast! Love it.

have been running several winmo 6.5 ROMs recently and i have found MS3 much slower than 6.1 and on Miri's v11 and v14 a bit glitchy (lock ups and crashes)
seems quite stable on my current ROM EnergyROM Pheonix but not as smooth as when i was on Dutty's 6.1 ROMs

cool thanks guys

What is the fastest ROM?

Hi!
What is the fastest ROM for the ARTEMIS?
Is the "ARTEMIS Vanilla 2.0 WWE ROM" or the "ARTEMIS Touch 2.1 WM6 WWE" faster?
Full version or lite version?
Has anybody done a comparison?
bye
Nelix123
well
be the first to campare them
Hi. I find the fastest for me is the HTC P3300 official ROM. I have tried several of these roms here and this and the official O2 rom was the fastest on my Orbit. I am running TomTom6.30 on it and it comes up in like 20 secs from cold all the time. The buttons are responsive and don't have to wait around for them to load. I had not noticed anything adverse with this Rom. Hope it helps.
Meschle Vanilla 2.0
I can definately say meschle's vanilla 2.0 is the fastest rom out there... try it you'll be amazed!
ARTEMIS Vanilla 2.0 WWE ROM is faster then Touch. IMHO
i have artemis 2.2 touch and is very good
@ most of you above: how can you state the speed of different ROMs when you have tested them after each other in stead of next to each other?
I've tried half a dozen different ROMs, but I can't really say which one is the fastest. I have my thoughts off course, but I can't compare them next to each other.
@ TS: if you want to test this, try to install the same programs on eacht ROM (apart from the ones who came with the ROM), and use a stopwatch to measure the time it takes to do some things (for instance open \windows folder, start up TomTom, make the touch cube go round 3 times). Maybe you can find/use a PocketPC benchmark tool to automate some things for you?
I've tried many ROMs for my Artemis. I can simply say meschle's Vanilla 2.0 is the fastest I've seen.

You know, my problem with the Vanilla ROM is that there is no
- AudioManager (eats half of memory than WMP),
- Voice Recorder,
- X-Button / Task Manager,
- Big button dialer (3 buttons in one row, instead of 4)
- HTC Home plugin (OK, it's not necessary if you have Spb Mobile Shell)
on board, if I understood well from the Vanilla 2.0 thread.
I've just mentioned the progs which I'd like to have and all go to Widows folder, causing a remarkable slowdown of the system. So, this is my dilemma: if I clothe a Vanilla with all those programs I loose its speed, the main advantage of the rom.
That's why I'm still hesitating which rom to try, while using the official WM6...

Ah, ok ... thx.
Was bit confused about the name
Hi!
And thanks for all the information!
One more question:
What do you think and what is your experience, respectively?
What ROM is faster: Vanilla 2.0 (CE OS 5.2.1921 (Build 18125.0.7.0) or original German (CE OS 5.2.1620 (Build 18125.0.4.2)
Or does it make no difference?

most stable wm 6.5 + manila 2.5 rom?

hey,
just wanted to ask around which wm 6.5 rom including manila 2.5 is the most stable one for you?
so far i've been testing all roms around, except the newest version of miri's (1.2) and i have to say for me the most stable one is NRG - Genesis, although Manila sometimes does freezes for some seconds after unlocking the device (with wm 6.5 screenlock).
let me know your thoughts!
tats very true dude...not only it freezes on wm lock but also with the latest version of s2u2. But thats affordable with such high eye candy looks n good performance.
Manilla 2.5 is still in early stages of development. So you going to see lockups until we can make it run good. For now, if you want a stable ROM, better stick with Manilla 2.1.
Am I the only one that doesn't like 2.5? The homescreen looks cluttered and tacky!
If the launch icons had been about half the size with a weather 'bar' above them it might have been better. Think I will stick to the old one!
The quickest and most stable build i've tried is Miri's v1.2. I was getting the screenlock problem on the other roms but so far this build has been trouble free. I would like to use the footprints tab, but I can wait!

I get the freeze problem on Miri 1.2 too. What application do you use to autolock your phone?

No, I totally agree. I like having the weather on the home screen, but the programme icons look horrible at the size they are. They need to be much smaller, and maybe just a small row of 4 icons at the bottom of the main homescreen that you can flick up to 16 icons in total instead of 9!

Diamond ROM with TouchFLO2D

Strange question, there is a ROM based on WM6.1 or WM6.5 that using TouchFLO2D?
I have try many ROM with TouchFLO3D/Sense2.5, but no one is quickly as my old Touch Viva!
I have try also the stock ROM of Diamond, but some custom ROM is more quickly also with Sense2.5
Yes, I agree, I'm finding Rom 6.5.x + TouchFlo with optimization for 128Mg RAM of Diamond, not like Energyrom, it's very good but too too big to fit in 128Mb.
Diamond has 192MB of RAM .
TouchFlo2D would be funny though.
@horo86: Have you tried any titanium rom?

I have try EnergyROM for a while but isn't so light, now I've Kimera 4.5(win 6.1) with Sense 2.5 disabled. Diamond is now VERY faster but the appearance isn't the same... Some month ago when I had Touch Viva! with the stock ROM and Manila2D the telephone was very quickly! and the appearance isn't so bad... a good compromise I think.
Do you have a good 6.5 ROM with Titanium to suggest me? Possibly in italian(really I need XT9 italian language not all the system)
Thanks to all.
you can try the diamond lover's rom is fast...has titanium and manila 2.5...is fast and i really like it
[another shameless promotion] look in my sig. Doesnt have Italian T9 though. But you can install your own keyboard (like fingerkeyboard)! (my rom uses the standard MS keyboard) [/shameless promotion]

I actually built a diamond 6.5 ROM with TF2D, just out of curiosity. The interface was fast, but it actually used more RAM than TouchFlo3D 1.2 did, and was kinda buggy. Those, added to the fact that the new and interesting versions of TF2D weren't available in VGA, meant that there really wasn't any advantage to using it.

I tried titanium but I don't like this interface. Very difficult when i want to change something.
Now I use energyrom 28008 with touchFLO 3d because I prefer finger friendly in WM 6.5.x.
This ROM is very fast, less error even it reach to 10mb free Ram after 1 day. I use addict CleanRam 1.93 to solve this prob. I wish find a way to reduce RAM cooked for increasing free memory.
where to find??

they're old by now, but they lack SENSE - maybe it's worth a shot?
why not just download the official rom and disable sense?

cause they are not tweaked and do not have uc.
The DIA Duit v1.7 is the best after I tried most of other ROMS, everything works smoothly except the Internet search cannot pass the query to the Opera 10.
.....my opinion tested many rom...
1) dia duit 1,7.
2) min 74 Y2
I was testing atleast 10 ROMs but i am settled with MEMO 2.5.5.1 (they still improving it)
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=649841
a worth trying this
You should try Cloudyfa's Rom
http://rapidshare.com/files/261693573/Diamond_Cloudy_1.3.zip
My opinion , i have tested like 50 rom's or so
2.11 Gen.Y wwe
Very stable , all is workind (except video call) by defalut (no patches or others)
Consumes 77 of your memory .
2) min 74 Y2 - This one I reckon it's probably the best only if you use European languages. I tried to install the chinese keyboard input onto the EzInput 2.1 and it failed to show in the keyboard option list. Dia Duit uses the basic one, so I just install EzInput 2.0 and it works with the chinese keyboard.

I agree... Nataly project is now near to be a myth, it's inventor was a real genius
anyway the basic kitchens are all the same, what's make difference is above all the approach, if you need a very fast/light rom you have no choice: go for a WM6.1 + classic manila (like I did many months ago), our weak & oldish diamond haven't enough ram to manage the "modern circus"

I will try it.

Try Energy Rom (Titanium) works great.

Looking for best rom

I currently use pretty old SwiftBL, because i like it's speed and pure look
so, list roms that are 6.1 use touchFLO 3D(original one) and are speedy and new and doesn't come whit lots of clocks&whistles
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=563245
I'm using this rom for a long time and it's very fast.
But it's wm 6.5.
