Touch Pro 2 and MMSLite build 275 - Touch Pro2, Tilt 2 Windows Mobile General

I just bought this Touch Pro 2 to replace (wishful thinking) my Xperia X1. Am still thinking but one thing that really bugs me is as most Softbank users may know, we rely on MMSLite to receive those infernal but cannot-do-without MMS mails.
On the Touch Pro 2, it would appear that every time I sync to the PC, Touchpro 2 will refuse to automatically download messages anymore, i.e.
1. Activesync finished, disconnected
2. TP2 is now off
3. MMS mail is sent
4. Wait forever, no notification
5. Switch TP2 on, it starts receiving every single MMS it has missed while it was off.
The normal operation is that MMS will be received and the mobile should notify the users immediately MMS comes in. Anyone experienced this and if there's any solution?
This is stock build of TP2, no upgrades as yet.
Thanks!

Oh no I just ordered one and was hoping having no trouble with MMS using MMSLite
Btw how did you do to have the unlimited data transfer plan work ? (Since it's not a ROM made by Softbank and I thought the cabs developped to create the right connection worked only with the Herms ?)

Try MMSLite built 303

SMS not coming thru

hi there, just noticed the last 2 days i am not receiving any sms at all???? with O2 ireland. does anyone know what it could be????? Thx
to mine happens sometimes...
then i do a softreset and i can receive sms again...
SMS not coming through
I am experiencing the same problem for some time now -
see my post "receiving only some SMS"
It is not SW related - happens on a freshly Hard Reset XDA -
i have upgraded the Rom - which made no difference
I have handed it in to O2 for repair twice - no difference
they have now agreed to exchange it
pattern is at follows
if the XDA is off (not the phone in flight mode) and the signal is weak - it will switch on on receiving the text but loose the network, re- aquire but no SMS notification will be there and no SMS - the sender will get a delivery message. Interesting - if you send two SMS consecutively (before it can switch off again) ONLY the second SMS will be received.
Worryingly there are quite a few posts here that describe that problem but no solution which makes me wonder if this is a general bug of the XDA

to be honest i'd say this is not phone related. i'm in england on O2 UK on contract, and a number of my friends are on O2 both PAYG and contract, we often have difficulties in not receiving messages, mostly between each other (i.e. other o2 phones) and occasionally other networks, messages do not comes through at all or sometimes hours late.
this seems largely to do with o2 PAYG more than anything tho.
sorry to correct you -
this is not related to O2 - on a different phone I receive ALL text messages -
in the XDA the failure is network independant - not receiving messages on pay as you go as well as on post pay sim
several posts here describing the XDA failure
point is that messages are not received on wake up of phone. Although the phone and the SMS server think they have received / delivered.
If you have a problem as well - please let O2 know about it (either via the O2 XDA support) or via their repair contractor.
What was the solution for me is that I did a hard reset, restore the backup I made with Sprite Backup. After it was finished I ran the program cleanmail.exe from Sprite ( http://spritesoftware.crmdesk.com/answer.aspx?id=141&back=browse.aspx#p17 ).
Now I receive all sms messages!
THANKS
THANKS FOR ALL YOUR HELP!!! I finally did a hard reset and upgraded sprite to 3.14. Now sms are coming thru. have also downloaded sprite clean mail so i hope in the future if i have to restore a backup the sprite download clean mail will elimate this problem. Thanks again for all your thoughts and suggestions!!!!
you are one of the "lucky ones"
where the problem was caused by Sprite backup and where a clean of the mail DB sorted it.
keep monitoring this however as in my case - (and several others) - Sprite backup is not used and hard reset does not solve the issue.
SWEET
I very frequently install trial versions on my pda before i buy the program. some are good some are bad...in any case i noticed that when I remove software from my pda a lot of debris is left behind and my pda is some what sluggish, registry....etc.... So i can only suggest to do a hard reset....and then re-install the shipping rom for your particular model. My pda is now running SWEET and is very Stable plus sms are coming thru!!!! So I am a happy man at the moment.
Not quite sure where the problem was with sprite.... I did a hard reset and did not install sprite on my pda. sms came thru. As soon as i installed sprite and did a restore my sms did not come through once again. Very simple it is two things....1 its sprite (3.14 working fine, the older version was the problem).......2 it was my config. In all honesty I did not have the time or patience to find out exactly where the problem lies (and hopefully I will not have to).
to contradict myself....it is phone related i have had the same problem to the extreme O2 replaced the phone twice and still have the same fault.
my nokia 6800 receives all msgs fine however. O2 won't accept there's a problem with the phone.

MMS Help & BT MMS Settings

Ok so I have been able to send and receive MMS fine for several weeks with Rogers and my HTC S621 with the new wm6 rom on it.
Worked for awhile with the tmobile rom and then stopped working before i changed rom.
So anyways whats happening now is I can send FINE but I cannot receive.
Finally got someone at rogers who seemed to know what they were talking about and they said that if I have my sim in another phone like a nokia that is supposed to send and receive then if their system updates and shows me with that and I put my sim back in my HTC then I can receive but if the system updates again showing me with a HTC S621 it will no longer accept the incoming.
There is nothing they can do to fix it... they said they were planning to release a rom with a fix for it but I dont want to wait for that so does anyone know a way around this?? is there a registry fix or something to allow me to keep getting them??
Thanks
Not only that,
Sorry to thread crap, but i was wondiering if any body had a how to on setting up on the NEW WM6 internet settings for rogers. I c ant seem to get it to wokr.
REgarding this MMS stuff, i was having similar issue where i could send MMS but not receive. I then realized that my friend had the same issue as well. I checked my online album and all the pictures were going there. I don't even receive notifications of my MMS messages being received by the other person. I worked with rogers tech support for nearly 2 hour2 with 4 different phones (rogers does not support MMS on HTC s621 or any other phone running windows mobile because they dont have an agreement with microsoft apparently). I could not even get my rogers razer to work, same issues. They kept telling me my account was fine. She then recommended i try a new sim card, which i did with no luck. I have yet to call back and let them know that im still having problems. Has anyone been experienceing similar issues?

I have the exact same issue. I can send but not receive. What do you have for your MMS settings?
Sorry, Rogers does not support MMS messages being received on the Excalibur.
The software they use does not have a profile for the device, so they make you log in to their website to view mms messages.

MMS Probs after HTC Rom update?
since i upgraded to the htc rom yesterday, i noticed that my mms when receiving a pic, i get a "error synchronizing" when i try to hit menu and download message.. hopefully this has not been talked about already. HELP!!! I am on the t-mobile network..
I too am getting the same error message since flashing my dash to WM6 htc ROM...I still think the Robust Rom outweights the sms problem...however in a perfect world, we can have both...anyone else with the problem???
I meant to write those settings down before upgrading -- someone with a standard Dash might be able to post them. As with the wap.voicestream.com setup to get internet going, I believe there is additional configuration to be done before MMS will work right...?

I hate to do some cross-forum posting stuff, but PocketPC Addict has the settings for T-Mobile (a little Google goes a long way!). I learned that MMS and GPRS settings are not often sent by the carrier when I jammed my AT&T SIM card in there.
I find it funny that AT&T keeps all their settings for all their devices, yet T-Mobile doesn't, especially considering that T-Mobile is far more liberal when it comes to customer support (allowing people to bring their unlocked phones with them, unlocking phones after only three months of service, not charging extra for teathering, relatively cheap Internet rates, etc.)
thanks for the info, couldnt really find anything on that particular site, but i bookmarked anyways! looks like another great forum to relate too!! anyway who ever else still have a prob.. with mms (tmobile dash) since the htc upgrade, myself too found a site by googling it.. and here is the link.. it worked for me! good luck

MMS/SMS settings for cingular on unlocked/unbranded dash
I just got finished flashing my dash to the generic HTC ROM and I'm trying to find the procedure for putting the settings in for cingular. I tried following some that I found that aid to go to:
Start > Messaging > MMS > Menu/Settings > Menu/MMSC Settings
But the fields don't match up with the settings that the Cingular/AT&T site provides. For instance, there's no username/password settings on the dash in this location.
Anyone have a working set of instructions/settings for the new AT&T/Cingular?
I do NOT have a data plan, nor do I want to use MediaNET, etc. I just want to use WiFi and MMS. (WiFi works fine.)
*sigh* I spent 2 hours looking and looking.. then, imediately after posting this, I find it. Well, at least this may help the next poor soul looking for it.
This is for another device, but the instructions are exactly the same.
For pretty screenshots go to:
https://www.wireless.att.com/support/deviceConfig.do?content=KB69475.html
1. From the home screen, press Start and select Messaging.
2. Scroll to and select MMS.
3. Select Menu.
4. Scroll to and select Options.
5. Scroll to and select Account Options. (mine said 'Account Settings')
6. Scroll to and select MMS.
7. Select Menu.
8. Scroll to and select MMSC Settings.
9. With "Cingular MMS" highlighted, select Edit.
10. Validate the following: (Edit existing or Add)
* Name: Cingular MMS
* MMSC URL: http://mmsc.cingular.com
* WAP Gateway: wireless.cingular.com
* Port: 80
* Connect Via: The Internet
* Max. Sending Size: 300K
* WAP Version: WAP 2.0
11. Select Done.
finally! mms settings just copy from blackjack ATT
find the mms settings for your dash/att at att website. go to support select the BLACKJACK and copy the settings. lol SO funny i was looking and looking and looking everyone had a different flavor. but when i tried this setting it worked instantly. GO right to good old AT&T/support/blackjack/mms settings.
MDA MAIL (T-Mobile DASH) (HTC S620) - Internet Gprs, MMS Settings and WIFI Problem
Guys,
I have been reading all of the threads on this forum and i am glad that you are solving almost all the problems that ppl occurred while using the dash.
I have the T-mobile MDA Mail europe and i love the phone but there is no wifi. In order to get the wifi i installed new ROM (thanks to this forum) and now I have the newest ROM but i still dont have wifi. I asked the chief of T-mobile service in my country how can i solve this and he said the actually T-mobile Europe is ordering this phone in HTC without the WIFI antenna. I was amazed and dissapointed. They are sooooo ****ing gay coz they want us to use their gprs as only internet access.
However, After the installation of the official HTC WM6 ROM (i hated the t-mobile rom), I cant use even the GPRS. Can set the settings by myself. Can you please help me? There are no hints on the official t-mobile site.
Thanks in advance

Tmobile Trigger Mail on WM6.1

Does anyone know how to make WM6.1 work with the Tmoblie Trigger mail? I installed 6.1 and tried to do the WM5/6 hack that works but had no luck. I had 6.1 on my phone for a few days and liked a lot of its features, but really like the Tmobile Trigger mail so went back to 6.

What is the trigger mail feature just wondering?
Trigger Mail Feature
TMobile has a hybrid push mail that was available under WM5. Basically what happens is you give TMobile.com you email address, POP & SMTP settins plus password. They then monitor you inbox. When an email is recieved thier server generates a text message that triggers you phone to check your email. The text message is invisible to the user and is automatically deleted. The advantage is that you do not have to set you phone to check email every 5min, 15 mins etc. You phone only checks when triggered to do so.
Here is probably a better discription;
http://www.modaco.com/content/htc-tornado-faraday-variants-tornado-modaco-com/239456/how-to-configure-us-t-mobile-push-mail-on-any-rom/#entry854119
Anyone have a solutuion for this? Anyone using this feature? Am I the only one that still does? I have 3 email addresses that TM triggers my phone for, most emails arrive in my phone within minutes of being sent.
Uses a txt message? I guess that wouldnt work for me. I dont need unlimited txts, but have unlimited data...so I just have wm 6.1 poll my inboxes every 5 minutes
Call T-Mobile and ask them?
Tmobile does not support WM6.1 on the Dash, and they don't support trigger mail on anything past WM5.
Anyone? You guys always amaze me with the way you can figure anything out, don't let me down now. Am I the only one who uses this? Is there something better out there?
Here I will look into this and get to you asap
I dont think T-Mo charges your account for the trigger mail sms.
If you don't have unlimited Text they will charge you. I am lucky and still have the Tmobile Mail and More plan that includeds unlimited data, text, sms, wifi and 1000 min for $69. I will hold on to that plan until they come up with 3G.
The trigger mail does work great though, don't know why they quit supporting it after WM5

How can we still get this?
You have to go to your account on Tmobile.com then goto Communications Tools. Once there you will see a section that labled "About E-Mail' Click on the learn more tab. Once here you will see a picture of your Dash, scroll down to the bottom of the screen and you will is a link that says 'Still want to continue using Windows Mobile 5' if you click here it will take you to a screen where you can set you can set up you email boxes. Basically you tell Tmobile your email addresses, passwords, and pop/smtp settings. Then turn on the alerts feature.
Now Tmobile will silently alert your phone when ever an email is received in any of your configured accounts. This SMS alert triggers your phone to sign on and retrieve then new messages.
If you are using WM6 you have to add several files from WM5 to make your phone work correctly. I have these files but wont post them here unless a moderator tells me it is ok. The files needed from WM5 are
MyEmSMP.exe
TMMEPluginEnabler.exe
InBoxDriverSrv.dll
TmMapirule.dll
TmUtil.dll
tmyemail.dll
For complete instructions on how to configure your phone goto
http://www.modaco.com/content/htc-tornado-faraday-variants-tornado-modaco-com/239456/how-to-configure-us-t-mobile-push-mail-on-any-rom/#entry854119
With this enabled your phone only checks email when triggered instead of every 5, 15 minutes depending on how your phone is currently set.
It works great, I would just like it to work with WM6.1 also, I am just smart enough to make it happen.

I still remember reading on the T-Mo site the Trigger SMS are free but it might be based on having a certain plan.
You have to read the fine print. They are free if you have a SMS plan. Each trigger = 1 text message. When they started doing this with the first Tmobile PocketPC phone the plans for that phone all came with unlimited text. I started with the original Tmobile PPC phone, then the HP6300 and had that when I went to my Dash. I still have the plan from my 6300, Tmobile would probably love me to give it up since I get everything for $69, Tzones, Data, Text, 1000min, Nights & Weekends....
I have been using this on every phone since it first came out on the T-Mobile HP IPAQ. I do not have unlimited test and it does not use text but triggers the phone to convert 701 codes to the actual email. Now you do have to have thier internet option at 19.95 a month. I too love it and have switched from 6.1 back to 6.0 because of this single application. Thats ow much I love it.. (one thing that is different is I am using a PPC)
Glad to hear that I am not the only one who loves Trigger Mail. I really want to move to 6.1, if someone could just get this to work it would be great.

Haha they could use my sig to go to the t-mobile site and have their connections setup... it takes literally like 5 minutes to do... and it is step by step instructions...
And for all you the link is called "T-MOBILE FIX ANY MMS ISSUES (SENDING OR RECEIVING), FIX INTERNET PROBLEMS, E-MAIL, ETC. CLICK HERE"
cant someone just make a T-MOBILE FIX ANY MMS ISSUES (SENDING OR RECEIVING), FIX INTERNET PROBLEMS, E-MAIL, ETC. CLICK HERE.cab
But i'm using NRGZ's Lite ROM and it does not have connection setup.cab and it doesn't have what your guide ask for. I don't have advanced at the GPRS step.
T-mobile fix any mms issues (sending or receiving)
Could it be that because i'm using Ricky & Stylez Rose rom V1.7 ? Because I reset my phone last night and redid everything(again),then sent an mms to myself and to my wife and it showed that it was sending but we never got the mms. I know that sometimes it takes a while but 20 hrs. seems a little to long. If anyone knows of anything i'm doing wrong please let me know. I've tryed every post i've seen up to this point and none have worked. Thanx in advance.
first off, I have just used the "connection setup" on the girlfriends Dash and hers works fine- not to say it will definitely work for everyone but worked for me...multiple times in the past and recently.
the one thing that doesn't work...ever...is the send/receive button. It always ends in "error synchronizing" -If that is what is failing it is normal. Just send a test pic, and then try to get someone to send you one. Make sure they are on Tmobile to get a speedy transaction- I have had MMS to other carriers take a few hours before.

MMS-Error Syncing
I am using the vanilla V24 rom on my T-Mobile Dash and have manually setup all the settings that I could find regarding ToMo WEB, T-Mo Zone, T-Mo VNC, and T-Mo MMS. I have successfully sent and receiving SMS. But MMS does not work. I receive Error Syncing everytime and have waited for over 3 days to receive. I can not offer any solutions, But can offer an alternative. If you have the T-Mobile Total Internet Package, you can setup an email account, i.e. gmail and use that.
mms problem solved
The cure was easier than i thought. Went to t-mo web site and loaded 6.o. No more issues with picture messaging, web or anything else for that matter.

Receiving Tiny MMS pictures ??

got my touch pro 2 a few days ago, everything works fine apart from MMS, when receiving these they come through ok but are very tiny. Cant seem to enlarge them at all, the size of the file is around 6k which is far to small for an mms. anyone else seen this ?
if not will ring o2 in the morning and see if they are doing anything there end. never had this issue on my tytn II but have only just moved to o2 so might be that.
thanks for any help.
nobody else experiencing this ?, I have logged a support call with o2 to see if it is something there end. Very strange.
o2 helpful as ever, they wont assist as they dont support the handset.
There must be a setting somewhere in the registry where the phone is automatically downsizing these pictures as even if i send one to myself from the phone it sends at 224k but then receives at 6k ?
very annoying.
anybody ?
at present for anyone else that is on o2 with this phone and wants to receive full size mms pictures until o2 get there finger out and officially support the phone. I used the following settings from the htc touch, these settings need to be modified in the registry.
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Arcsoft\ArcSoft MMS UA\Config\mm1\WspHeader]
Accept application/vnd.wap.mms-message,*/*
Accept-Charset us-ascii, utf-8, iso-10646-usc-2, ISO-8859-1, ISO-8859-2
Accept-Language en
User-Agent HTC_Touch_HD_T8282/arcsoft-mmsua-5.0.0.xx
x-wap-profile http://www.htcmms.com.tw/gen/HTC_Touch_HD_T8282-1.0.xml
this seems to work for me. now getting my grand daughter who has just been born at full resolution. much better than this tiny thumbnail size that I was receiving, she's small enough as it is.
My MMS wont send or receive on o2. Where do I change the settings?
What are they?
My data works fine and everything else!!
Thanks.
Stu.
If you have a custom ROM most will require a secondary CAB install for MMS provisioning. Check the thread of your custom ROM for MMS related information.
