^^ Theroetically that is....I wouldn't like to bet how well it works.
Unfortunately i haven't managed to make it work yet(always tried with my local wifi connection).
You can open the dreambox web interface on your HD browser(do not put mobile view) select a channel and then click on the vpid: 0x835 (it depends also on the dreambox image you use). after clicking the vpid: 0x835 you save the video.m3u file and you can open it with coreplayer or tcmp.
The only problem is that you can only hear the audio and see some multicolored pixels(error message mpeg-2 video is not supported) .i've tried an old vlc mobile version but it doesn't work either.
My only solution for now is streaming the dreambox channel through vlc player(using a PC of course).
i have seen this video on youtube http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E2ZflgE4kXs but i cannot find the software.Fake???
I've managed it before, not too easy.
You need to stream from the DB on to your PC - VLC acts as a host on your PC.
Create a DNS for you router and foward the stream.
Use VLC on ur mobile to watch the stream.
I wrote a guide a long time ago, satellites.co.uk
I think you may want to stream on an internal network though?
Hi,
Here is a solution which is working well:
http://www.dreamusers.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=22034&highlight=streaming
have fun.
need to register to the forum plus i dont understand french so an english link or a translation will be fine, thnx
http://www.4shared.com/file/117727972/9e1f1d46/tunisia-sat_dreambox_player_and_streamer51.html
did anyone managed to get solution that actually works???
Dreamview did actually worked, but it required me to log on to the pc that was doing transcoding and running dreamview in order to change the channel. Not very convenient.... And this connection needs to be established everytime you want to change the channel...
Tunisia sat-dreambox did not work for me. Did not understand how to make it work.
Could not follow french page due to language.
Found myself in addition Dreambox Re-Stream. Very promising prospect:
http://www.m4rtin.nl/re-stream/index.php?page=howdoesitwork
This one allows to change channels from remote PC or PDA,
The only problem these days is that with latest VLC versions it does not work properly.
Any working solution???
Any more news on this. Am looking at doing this myself
Hi, am still using tunisia sat program, which is working perfectly with wifi, but has freezes in 3G mode, even on HD2.
enjoy Christmas.
other option is throug orb
www.orb.com
just make a tekst file and put the line 192.168.1.10(your ip of the dreambox)/video.m3u
and save this as mp4 file
so the line looks like this http://192.168.1.10/video.m3u
then in orb you can open the file and that works.

How exactly does tunisia sat program works? Can't make it to work for me at all. Are you able to change channels via HD2, or do you have to log on to PC to change a channel? Any links to how to?

does using Orb allow you to change channels on your phone? does it also reduce the stream size? asking before installing trial version.

Hi All.
Just a quick one.
I am tying to play some Video files over my network on my Jasjam with Media Player. The files are on my pc.
It keeps comming up with the error message "system cannot find the file specified file". I can't use tcmp player because it is a windows media codec encoded video.
My network is fine, resco file explorer sees the network no worries but when i click on the file I get the same error message.
Tcmp will play files over the network so i know it works.
I have been looking everywhere but just keep running into brick walls.
Is there a reg edit to fix this problem.
Thanks for your help.
If however i have somehow missed this please please please, no FLAMING

i dont flame aussies .... you need to move back to the JasJam ROM from IMATE... the new one has the built in player....
Hi.
LOL thanks for that.
I just can't go back to the original Imate Rom i love the lvsw one to much.
Is Imates a different version of media player to the one used in LVSW's rom.
Is there a way to get this built in player.
If not surely, there must be another way. I can't be the first person who wants this.
Cheers.
Travis
P.S. Just incase i change my mind is the rom you speek of just the one that can be downloaded from Imates Website.
Hey.
So sorry to be a pain but has anyone got any idea how to fix this little problem.
I really need to be able to run these videos.
Or has someone figured out a way to run windows media content through TCMP.
Thanks again
tried orb? Streams any video fine over wmp.

you speak about playing movies over the network. Did you try to copy a movie to your pda and play it locally. What happens then?

The problem is that files are like over 100meg each and take too long to transfer to the Phone.
That being said I did transfer one and it worked ok. So the problem must lie somewhere else.
MMMMM very frustrating.
Here is a plugin for playing FLV under TCPMP (0.8, 0.7)
Backup your own ffmpeg.plg before overwriting.
http://sourceforge.net/projects/tcpmpflvplugin/
There is YouTubedownload.exe tool running on WM6. WM5 to download FLV.

Seems not, because CorePlayer can not get the external plugin as the way TCPMP does...

How did you get it to work? I installed the 2 files in my TCPMP directory and selected Flash Video under settings. When i open You tube under IE and click on a file, TCMP does not open.

That's what you should be using normally anyway! Thanks to Stealth I've been using the ATI Imageon chip for a while now for every format I play! It definitely makes my battery last much longer.
how do you get it to work. i put the two files in the tcpmp directory and then put youtubedownloader in another. where do you get the file id from?
i put the link of the file into the youtubedownload.exe and it says invalid link. not sure what i am doing wrong

In order to use the program “YouTubedownload.exe” it is not necessary to put the Link, but the digits of identification of the video.
For example: of http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=utsHE5xWges the digits are utsHE5xWges
Later uses in TCPMP the video output ATI IMAGEON

With YouTubedownload.exe you directly unload the video to the PPC, and with plugins you can see archivo*.flv in TCPMP.
You do not need the PC, nor to turn the file *.flv to another format.
There it is the difference… GREETINGS
on mediacoder i use the device --> plugins --> digital media player
the output video works great with hermes windows media player...
cheers
how about just playing youtube

This program it's better than vTap posted here at Xda-developers?
I never tried vTap but with this program, you install it, you go on real youtube (www.youtube.com) search like you would on your computer and when you click the video it launches the TCPMP media player automatically and it plays.
I downloaded and tried it but it doesn't seem to trigger Core to open.
I am using the core player. Must I be using the old one core player and not this new edition?
During the installation of Flashvideobundle.cab I keep "Installation was unsuccessful. The program or setting cannot be installed because it does not have sufficient system permissions"
Not sure why I had my phone all unlocked thru imei-check.co.uk ..
Any pointers .. Thanks

Go to my thread and get the video tools that will fix your YouTube Screaming Problem, http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=362685. Install TCPMP/Player 0.81RC1 and the FlashVideoBundle.cab latest Version both to your {SD Card, Soft Reset Your Device}! Next install the Codecs Plugin Zip Pak to your {SD Card, Soft Reset Your Device}, no shorts cuts. The YouTubePlayer.cab is exclusive for pocketPC device ONLY. If you still have YouTube streaming problems get back with me, have fun dude.......!
Technology rocks!!!
The only thing that can better the feeling of "Eureka!! It works!" is the feeling of "Didn't I tell you this will work?".
Technology rocks!! Pun intended Thank you so much Technology!! The problem of tcpmp getting stuck is now resolved. Earlier, I had tried 0.81 tcpmp and 1.4.4 flash bundle, but without the codecs folder. It was those bunch of codecs that you mentioned that solved the problem
Thank you so much!!!!!
Initially I thought it was ATT Cingular that was blocking my youtube traffic after 1 minute, since I was overloading their network. So I went to the extent of setting up a squid proxy on my fedora desktop (on 6Mbps cable line), and pointing my WM6 proxy to this machine instead of cingular.wireless.com:80 proxy. I thought, perhaps the proxy has some rate limiting module. But even with my squid proxy, the stream would halt after 1 min. That meant the player was having trouble streaming, and it wasn't the network. Debugging is fun. Only nerds can appreciate it
Greatly indebted to you and zbob.

Hi everybody. I just want to know if I can actually watch Youtube videos on Excalibur or it's an urban legend?
I'm using Ricky's v24 no opera version and I tried to follow the definitive guide (well, not so definitive) to watch Youtube videos (found in this forum using the search), I also tried Htc Streaming Media (a .cab file someone posted here) and none of them worked.
I use Wi-fi to navigate most of the time, since I don't have a data plan. My router has no blocking stuff (I disabled all for testing purposes) and I'm using Internet Explorer to browse m.youtube.com, but so far I got nothing but a "failed to find network" from htc streaming media.
So.... I really don't know what to do.
If anyone does, please, share your knowledge with me. Thanks in advance.
Easiest way is to use Skyfire it's free, also i use CorePlayer to stream of mobile YouTube.

If that floats your boat. Skyfire is a memory hog, it has over heating issues (battery and processor) it will be ad supported (as soon as it is out of beta testing) so look forward to clicking through an ad every page click... na, not worth it to me.

I use Vtap by Veevo. It not only shows YouTube but tons of other video on the web. Plays great!

I have to agree with Bupahs... TCPMP is definitely the way to go (if you aren't using Skyfire w/ a high-speed connection). I have yet to experience a player with more crisp, clearer playback than TCPMP. I found that the trick is you have to access the Desktop version of YouTube instead of the mobile version. The mobile version won't allow you to use TCPMP, but the other version will. How can you tell the difference between the two, you may ask? The mobile version will use a black background, but the PC (Desktop) version looks identical to the one you're used to.
I installed HTC Streaming Media and I access my browser through the Java application that should be on your phone (it came with mine) and go to youtube and I'm able to watch videos perfectly fine.
