HTC audio Drivers
Downloading and installing this driver update will provide your HTC mobile device with the latest available optimised software for use with the following accessories:
YC A120 Y-Cable adaptor
RC W100 Remote Controller
RC E100 Remote Controller
http://www.europe.htc.com/support/software/htcp3300.html
************************
later:
It soft resets after the update and takes up about 0.2-0.3 mb main memory. The update does show up in the add/remove programs list. Didn’t know I had a problem with my audio drivers…
Now Items like Y- Cabel are really working, without the internal speaker.
could it be the same as driver shipped with the W100 remote?
I'm going to try it. Hoping it *might* fix my problem described in my review of the remote:
http://www.expansys.com/review.aspx?i=145150
otherwise, don't bother.
I cant install this driver on Tinity WM6
Any idea?
it certainly looks like you can... http://www.europe.htc.com/support/software/htcp3600.html. however, when i try to install it, my phone says the driver already exits...
Saw it on the HTC and have it downloaded just in case it disappears of the site because...
Where is the SD card fix gone ? (already have it but seems to be off the site/ well hidden)
This is the Wired Remote Control Driver
Just installed, it is indeed the driver that came with the W100 remote. BUT!!!
This fixes the stupid problem that the remote cannot be used/detected when the phone goes to power off! So if you don't have the W100 remote, you have no need for this really, the stock headset works just fine. Great, I don't need to refund my headset!

That's what my phone says too.
Any idea how to fix it?
Does the HTC W100 Remote work with TCPMP?
I have followed Humps and installed the TCPMP Player and it seems quite good, however when I press start on the remote, the system fires up Windows media and then I need to go into the library to get my moosic to play. Is there a way to map the remote to access TCPMP and start the music straight away?
I like the remote it means that the phone is in my jacket and when I get bored with a tune then just forward without having to unlock the device and scrabble with buttons..............
E100
Hi,
Is there someone wich know what is the RC E100 remote controller ?
If you mean; what is the HTC RC W100 remote control? then have a look at the HTC website. It is a wired remote control that you plug your normal 3.5mm headphone jack into and conrol the media player while the Orbit/Artemis/P3300 is in your pocket or bag.
It's this control here
...only for WMPLAYER
...went all the way, using WMPLAYER to be able to use BT Headphones and hating it!!! (why can't it have a simple 'file list' instead of all the lbrary stuff which you can't manage thru your WM5!)
With a 'Y adaptor' I went back to MortPlayer and love it!!!
And now I receive my w100 and..... it only works with WMPLAYER again (ok, unless you want to ignore the controls alltogether )
Any 'control' key you press opens a wmplayer (even if MortPlayer is already running). There must be a 'link' somewhere between the buttons and the function they perform.... just that I can't find it.
Someone have any idea?? (.......MORT, if you read this, save me from WMPLAYER please

Hi Fucawi, I have not found a way to get it going with TCPMP, not even with the audio driver update. The buttons on the remote does not appear to be a regular AppButton so TCPMP cannot assign functions against it. I've been trolling through registry and stuff and couldn't find any clues.
May be if we generate enough noises, HTC will release another audio driver update so we can assign functions to the buttons or let apps use those buttons.
Techies and software peeps - help!
Humps, I thought that this forum would be the best place to get this done as people on here have a wealth of knowledge about the registry et al. HTC would not issue another driver for a couple of wingers like you and I, or even if 20 people on this forum wanted it. It doesn't make commercial sense....
There has to be a way to change the default settings to map to TCPMP or Mort or PocketMusic as the remote calls up the WMPlayer application with a button press. Surely one of our esteemed moderators and long suffering techie fiddlers knows their way around these devices and can either give us direction or instructions on how to do this.
Let's have a first 'peep' at the drivers....
One of the files included is: HTCWMPPlug.dll
Literally, from the info on the file
'HTC WMP Plugin for Control WMP Commands'
and I understand WMP stands for 'Windows Media Player'
Seems like it's something more than just a registry entry
... just exploring ...

I think you're right. TCPMP can detect hardware buttons on most devices, be it an iPAQ or HTC phone. Those buttons are implemented as AppButtons (correct me here please) which programmes can access directly. Since the buttons on the remote are software driven, the only way other apps can use it is if the driver somehow creates virtual logical buttons that maps to the remote. Which is also why I doubt anyone here will be able to do much. The hardware is great, shame about the driver.
AE BUTTON PLUS has an option to define virtual buttons
I don't have a clue if that would work for what you want, but may be worth a go ?

Just tried, doesn't work. Like TCPMP, it can't detect the buttons. I don't programme WinCE devices, but in programming sense, think the OS gives you access to a list of buttons. E.g. calling System.getButtons() but those buttons on the remote don't appear in that method call and cannot be used by applications typically designed for the traditional buttons. Only HTC's driver can provide access.
I have to say, WMP is pretty useless as a player software. Limiting the playback buttons to it is like crippling your device to crap software. I couoldn't understand what HTC was thinking.
I'm also disappointed not to have seen this post before buying th W100 ...
I want to use it with PocketMusic , eh HTC ! wake up !!!

Well if you convert your own games using yifanlu's psxperia converter you have to tick enable analog on the last screen, from there you run your emu on the phone and press menu, select controller settings, enable analogue mode, go to assign buttons and select type 5
there you go

I don't think you can assign a bluetooth controller as port two, you can switch control pads though in the assign controller option, I have no idea why anyone would use player 2 only in a game. But i do think you can assign a bluetooth controller as player 2 in fpse

Have you learned any information about this yet? I just ordered the same remote, but the MX3 model with voice button/microphone.
I read there is a Kodi add-on called Keymap Editor, but I would like to know how to program other buttons for my TV and Nvidia Shield Android TV box.
Any information would be helpful. Thanks.

I dont know if this will help your situation but theres quite an extensive gui keymapper addon for kodi called keymap editor, pretty good when i tested it at the time, you can have the same key perform different functions depending on where you happen to be in kodi i.e. homescreen, addon, video playing etc etc

I have an almost identical remote (slightly different colours seems to be the only difference -- see here). It's fantastic once you sort the button issues out. The back key problem is that it's not recognised by any keymapping application, so do what I did, remap the menu key to back instead. I rarely use the menu key and I'm rooted and have LMT Launcher running with a pie menu button anyway so it's there on the rare occasion I do need it. But I use back all the time. I used this application to remap it and it works perfectly.
As for the Mediaplayer button, I'll look into it tonight.
does the voice button on the remote work for nvidia shield?
has anyone tried it?

Hey, I have the same remote as you. I'll give the remapping a shot when I get home today.
Curious, did you also have issues with the large select button in the middle of the remote? I can mouse all over the screen, but I can't actually select anything. Did you have to remap that too?
Thanks.
Hi guys! I wanted to point out that i made a comment on a post here on this remote:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/shield-tv/general/mouse-click-behavior-t3290739/page2
Unfortunately I just cannot figure out how to configure the mouse button, aside from messing with code in the kernel itself. But I noticed some of you are looking for a keylayout for the remote. I have the version with the microphone, not the internet explorer button. Im not sure if its the same but you can try reading my post and have a shot at it. good luck!

I have the version of this remote with the voice button. it works on the shield but the issue is that it doesnt work in the same way as the voice button on the remote/gamepad. you have to manually select the voice button on screen, then when the beep for voice, hold down the voice button on the remote and say what you need to say. the voice button essentially opens and closes the voice channel on the mic on the remote. I have not seen a way to tie this as an actual keycode, and i think the remote might not even register the button as a scancode either. so i dont think you can simpley press or hold the button to have it automatically open the voice bar on android tv.
Hey guys! I have a 1st gen Fire TV- not rooted. I have been on the prowl for the perfect remote for my fire TV. I want it to use with a web browser (Mouse and Keyboard), Control my tv with IR (Input) and soundbar with IR(Volume and input). I have even tried universal remotes paired with my TV's CEC input control and that works, but no home button.
That being said, i have found a few that come so close to working perfectly, but they all seem to have 1 major downfall that is a deal breaker- specifically the navigation buttons not being mapped correctly with the Fire TV.
For reference and what ive tried:
http://amzn.com/B00U3PFUAC Back Button does not work.
http://amzn.com/B00RCWF1NA Home Button Does not work.
These are exactly what I want to be a truly universal remote with my Fire TV but with 1 fatal flaw and i can't root to modify the mapping. This is what im trying next: http://amzn.com/B012BZU3KS , http://amzn.com/B00HNLFYP0
What are you guys using?

Just out of curiosity, why is rooting off the table? I just ordered a Mele F10 Deluxe 2.4GHz Portable Wireless Air Mouse/Keyboard. It's supposed to be ideal, but requires a modified keymap.

I haven't been keeping up with development for the first gen for a while. Last I checked, there was no root method available for my software version. I didn't think things had changed. Are there new root methods available?
I've got two Fire TV Boxes (one new 4k) and on both of them, I use the stock remote for Kodi interface and this keyboard/touchpad for everything else. Works flawlessly...keymaps are perfect and it was inexpensive.

Sorry, I'm new/clueless. I've got a 2nd gen and assumed that any first gen could be downgraded to a rootable version.
I use the flirc with my harmony remote it works great. It also happens to be on sale until new years. www.flirc.tv and http://www.amazon.com/FLIRC-FL-09028-Universal-Receiver-Components/dp/B00BB0ETW8/ for the direct amazon link.
It emulates a usb keyboard and can be used for other things as well, you can program it with whatever IR remote you have laying around and if it's a universal like a harmony it can be part of your normal home theatre macros.

Wow! This is something I've yet to think of. Do the menu and home and back buttons work? What is the home button for the fire TV on the harmony? Thank you for the idea!
EDIT Actually I'm new to the harmony and i just have the basic bare bones Cheapy one. Will this work with it?

It will work with any remote including a cheapy harmony. You program the flirc itself to respond to whatever remote you have and you can program the output keys.
for home button here is a thread on the AFTV2 home button mapping: (title says not working but they found the combo: Left-windows key, left-alt-key, and Enter key)
http://forum.flirc.tv/index.php?/topic/1987-amazon-tv-home-button-not-working-with-harmony-remote/
+1 on the flirc, if you want an IR solution
I use a regular universal remote (from my STB) and the flirc can be programmed for any button to be mapped to the aftv remote, because my goal was to simplify some rooms to 1 remote only.
Works flawlessly, but remember to use a usb cable to place the flirc over the AFTV or you may not have line of sight (I bought some cheap usb extension cables)
With the flirc app I setup the home button without issue on both kodi/xbmc and the FTV...I don't recall having issues
The newer harmony hubs work perfectly as well since they are bluetooth and already have the mapping, but much more expensive.

I actually have mine sticking straight out the back and never have any problems. And it's sort of right behind my TV. It really just depends on your remote and room layout I think.

same here, it's super sensitive, they even recommend pointing remote away from it and bouncing the ir off a wall when programming so it doesn't overdrive it. It's about as close to RF as you'll get with an IR remote.
Flirc for the BIG win. Wife approved.
Hello!
I am a newly owner of TCL C715 with Android TV and searching for answers to two problems:
I am using Kodi and it works most of the time very well with the remote control. Sometimes i need a special button: it is the 'mouse: right click' (or c on the keyboard) which opens the contex menu in Kodi.
I have found Button Mapper: Remap your keys and it is possible to install and use it - but 'mouse: right click' is not there and only a few buttons from the remote control are detected.
Are there another possibilities that works well with C715? Any experiences out there?
Also with Aptoide TV i was able to install Zoom. Until now i don't use it but it looks like, that it is working. C715 has a microphone but missing a camera. Which cameras (maybe with microphone) working with Android TV or Smart TV, expecially C715? Any hints, experiences?
Thanks!
I don't know for camera. But for kodi contex menu, try to hold ok button, it will bring contex menu.
At least on my TCL OnionTV, that work.
