Vodafone Touch Pro 2 - Touch Pro2, Tilt 2 Windows Mobile General

I'm thinking about selling my current phone and getting a Voda TP2 through my gf's contract, but I am on Orange.
Is it possible to sim unlock a Voda TP2?

ordered one today from MPD on vodaphone, the phone comes un branded and not locked to any network

Same here, best way to go if you don't have to upgrade.

Same here got my orange sim card in temporary until my PAC code comes through. anyone Know how long it normally takes orange to send out.

I had TyTN and TyTNII from Vodafone.
Great place to buy as they never give you grief over returns.
Neither of my devices from them came locked. I don't think they ever lock HTC devices.
Paul.

I bought an orbit on Tuesday, and I'm using my Orange Sim in it until my number gets ported, so my handset is unlocked.

I have an orbit from an o2 shop. I also have my Orange sim in it untill my number gets ported. Therefore - I'd say they're unlocked!
My experience is that all O2 phones have been network-unlocked. Certainly the last 6 I have had were.

I would like to differ.. The XDA2i I had was locked to O2. I bought a XDA Exec in July. That is unlocked out of the box.. Seeing the discussion on the thread, it seems that O2 have adapted a strategy of leaving their phones unlocked for some reason..
Mine was open on all networks as I am using my T-mobile sim in it!
Playing around with a spare Virgin Mobile simcard with O2 sourced phones:
Orbit unlocked
XDA2i locked
Exec unlocked
Mini S unlocked
iPaq 6915 unlocked
Nokia 6280 unlocked
Motorola Razr unlocked
Well I've put a Virgin SIM in mine straight out of the box from O2 and it works so it's definitely unlocked. The only problem is that it says T-Mobile on the screen for network - odd!
^^They all do that sir
IME unless the phone is Virgin branded it will display T-Mobile (who Virgin lease their virtual network from).

Avaliability within the UK

Im on T-mobile within the UK and my contract runs out in October. Having read up this phone it seems an ideal upgrade from my current HTC Kaiser.
Does anyone have any infomation or knowledge on when it will come to the UK and what networks it will be on?
thanks guys
It's here now, and you can get it on Vodafone business.
Through Mobilephonesdirect you can get it now on T-mobile or Vodafone, but as you're with T-mobile now you will have to sign up for a new contract with a new number. You can port your current number to another network's PAYG, then back to T-mobile if you want to go with MPD + T-mobile.
T-mobile are no longer offering the phone as Vario V, apparently they decided to offer the N97 in it's place.
I don't know yet about orange or o2.

using O2 uk sim in vodaphone uk desire

Hey guys i should get my new desire this friday i want to use my O2 uk sim in it so two questions will a vodaphone uk handset be sim locked? second will i need o2's setting to get the internet ect working if so can any help me out there? thanks in advance.
Vodafone don't SIM lock their phones anymore
Where did you get your vodafone handset? I got mine through CPW which is unlocked and unbranded, although I think phones on Vodafone in general are unlocked.
You will have to manually setup your internet with O2's settings.

20 pcm with free phone and car charger had a walk around my town today and only cpw had in stock @ £30 pcm so just to have a second hand set next to my HD2 was a sweet deal!

[Q] Sim-Free and Unbranded

Hi. I have just purchased a "brand new sim-free unbranded" HTC Desire, however, when I inserted my o2 sim card and switched the device on I got a message that a different sim card was being used. I also had to select between three carriers being o2 contract, o2 payasyougo and Tesco Mobile.
Basically, my question is how can I check that my device definitely is sim-free and unbranded and not previously locked to a network?
Sorry if I am being vague or not supplying enough information. I otherwise love the phone and still trying to figure it out haha.
Many thanks
Scott
Your phone is working so its unlocked and it was just setting up your gprs settings
Don't know why anyone would pay out for a sin free phone. Because almost all pda phones you can unlock for free and debrand them as well
Sent from my spectrum zx
Unlock for free!?
I'd love to know how you network unlock the Desire for free?!! I've failed miserably despite buying a code.

HTC One X on ORANGE (UK)

Hi,
Has anyone received a HTC One X on Orange UK?
I want to know if the handsets accept other sim cards from other operators?
I have mine being delivered 2-4pm today, but its on Orange & my sim card is Three (3 UK). My mrs is giving it to me as she don't want the upgrade... kind I know ;-)
first of all you're going to need a micro sim...then if the upgrade is through someone like p4u or cpw chances are it will be a sim free handset and you should be fine. If it's direct from orange it may be another matter....you'll probably have to get it unlocked or something

I've got a microsim.. Ordered that from 3 a few weeks back (prepared!)
Its an upgrade direct from Orange.
Hopefully I can find a place to get it unlocked if not...
Chances are it'll be SIM locked - it'll be branded that's for sure
