I am having trouble mapping the t-zone key to do something other than take me to t-zone, for example I would like for it to open iexplorer. I tried using info from a threads I search with no luck. Also, I have me trying to view youtube and have used several apps from various threads such as Youtube player, kinomaplayer, 10live, and tmpcp player. Each time I either get file now support or a file error. I am using php registry and was able to change volume slider to use it to scroll. Phone is using WM6.

Strange, I have wm6 on one of my Dash/Excalibur and I'm watching YouTube Videos with my TCPMP player, KinomaFreePlayer{The Best} and the new RTSP video player. It works like a charm with YouTube. Now it's mighty strange that it will not work like a charm on your mobile device, by the way, the YOUTUBE player is for pocketPC devices ONLY, it tells you that in the thread.............!
I cant find a place where I can download rtsp player. The one I download is just a play.dmg.
I Will Help You!

Hello Guy`s and Girls and Blackstone fan`s... i have quiestion and on the same time Request if anyone, any programer or dev.. wana make this project will be awsome for all HTC users.
So from long time im searching in internet about some cool Mobile TV software to watch live TV via Wi-Fi but... after so many testings... i try maybe every TV soft that is avalible now they don`t work and not worth it i will explain you why.
Many of this TV softs are fixed with some chanels and the user can`t add aditional chanels and to watch what we really wana watch so where is the point to watch any TV when i can`t choice what to watch exactly!
In other way the avalible programs till now look ugly and really it`s not something that i will wana use everyday when im on travel and wana use my PPC like TV.
So the idea is someone to create a Mobile TV software very finger friendly to use the full screen mode on our Blackstones and to be fast..
Also the useer of this soft to be able to write.. direct linkt to the TV`s chanels they wana watch and to make favorite list of chanels..
So the program must to be something like Flash Player with many more options and settings
For example im from Bulgaria and in all avalible TV softs i can`t find any Bulgarian Chanel`s to watch and is the same for many more peoples.. from Europe. When you have favorite chanels and you enjoy to watch them where is the point to watch some other chanel that you even didn`t know this chanel or didn`t understand what the peoples speak!
Im waiting more fans of Blackstone for Help, Suggestions and etc!

If I am not mistaken, such a software exists. Someone here on XDA made it, and it can be customized with your own channels - all you need to do is input the stream links and it works.
I'm afraid I can't remember the name, but if you search around the forum, I'm sure you'll find it.
If there exists such a soft will be awsome if anyone can help me with the corect link of the post because i already try to search and i wroten TV, TV stream and etc nothing heppand maybe the post have diferent name!
Thanks in advance
Try WebTV mate , it works fine in my HD
WebTV 3.60 - Watch TV Stream from your PDA - ¤¤¤ Now more than 900 Channels ¤¤¤
Nice app, if only it has links to more "movies"
I try it befor dude but there have only 2 Bulgarian chanels with are the ugly one so.. the program really work fine but not have any reason to use it because i can`t watch the chanels i want if was posible you to add a stream link`s and add a chanel list by your choice will be awsome! I wana watch some Bulgarian chanels and i have the stream link of them but...... how to watch them when is not possible to add in such application like this?
When i try diretly from my Blackstone.. you know that always give me.. you need a flash player to watch this .. so i already have flash player 7 but like you know till now this flash player not working and we wait for the new flash player that will work with all flash vieos and etc!
some of the chanels i want to watch the link`s are .ASX and when i try to open them via Core PLayer, Windows Media Player or with TCPMP always give me error that i can`t play the file or i miss some codec so can anyone explain me and help me for example what i should do when i have the stream link for example in .ASX format what i should do to be able to watch this chanel on my Blackstone what i need to install?!
Regards
P.S i edit some of the chanels and change the IP`s to the Ip`s i wana watch so all is fine and i can add my own chanels but always give me the same problem when i play the stream via Windows Media PLayer always the video is without Video only sound appear and i make a search i saw that the vide codec is Windows Media Video 9 Advanced Profile so maybe this is the problem.. after this i try to play the same stream with Core PLayer and there not have Vidio and Audio and give me error : "Windows Media Video 9 Advanced Profile " not supported by the Player...
I try to open the same stream with TCPMP and again the same problem No Video No Audio and the player just exit by itself! So for now Windows Media Player work one step better than the other in the streaming.. but i don`t have Video i think the problem is about codec`s Maybe i need to install "Windows Media Video 9 Advanced Profile " if there is avalible codec like this!
Because i don`t see any other reason to Have Audio without Video when you have all the codec`s etc
If anyone can tell me something more about this codec or someone can upload it will be cool
Thanks in advance!
tsalta, i only read the 2 first line.. On the topic of WebTV (on xda), search a bit, and you will learn how to add easily a channel !!
Ask everything on the XDA topic, the creator always answer !
I know that the problem many of you to can`t open stream in Windows Media Player etc is about this codec WVC1 a.k.a Windows Media Video 9 Advanced Profile so its the same i was searching in internet alot about this codec... and for now i didn`t find the codec for WMP Mobile so if someone know the solution of this please let me know!
Or someone can create this codec for our mobile devices.. is we have this codec then we don`t have any problem to watch live TV with Video and Audio
Thanks

Dude thanks i wrote that i almost test any avalible program`s for TV and there not have Bulgarian TV chanel`s that i wana watch for example i need NOVA TV and BTV i know the stream address and i can watch them via my desktop PC but the point it that i can`t watch them on the phone because the Windows Mobile PLayer miss some of the requred codec`s and the reason to post this topic is someone who have the same expirience to help me with advice or even with codec.. or some kind of TV soft that i will be able to add my own list of channels to watch!
WIth some programs like Web TV i found desigion to add my own chanels by editing the file chanels and change the stream address but i recive only Audio without Video this heppand because the players didn`t support this Codec`s that i wrote above!
So SPB TV is a nice software for peoples who wana watch other kind of chanels for example if you are from Spain you will not be very happy to watch some Chanels form India because you can`t understand anything! so this is my point i don`t need 10 000 chanels i need 2-3 chanels only but the chanels that i really wana watch !
If someone can help me with this i can provde also the stream address to some of the chanels i want!
Regards
Here i will upload WVC 1 codec for Desktop PC and also Editor im not a programer but i hope someone from the programers here can try to see what exactly is this codec and to try to edit it and make it to work on Windows Mobile Player!
With this codec we will be able to play and watch online streem tv chanels without a problem directly from out Windows Mobile Player
thnx for the awesome application

That looks very smooth, I want to use it along with PS3 controller to play ShodowGun.
From the video, it looks like the Media Link can only handle mirroring but not streaming. Consider this cost almost the same as the Apple TV which does have both mirroring and streaming capability, I don't think I'll buy it at the current retail price.
P.S. Mirroring means both screen shows the same content. Streaming means you can play video from your device to the TV while do something else on your phone like web browsing.

I don't think so, unless a developer from XDA implements it because it uses HTCs Sense 4.0 software
im hoping that someone comes out with emulators that stream to tv , so the phone just shows controls

I agree, I remember seeing a video where the guy was streaming movie
Of his one X while browsing through the sense menu.

@Bigmille
Yeah you can use streaming. You can also launch a film on the One and send it to the TV and continue to use your phone to call someone, send sms, go to network... EVERYTHING
I will add a new video tomorrow or after tomorrow about Media Link with video player
Some HTC Staff person have played to ShadowGun and they said me it's amazing! It's looks like a PS3!!!
+
I have asked to know if I can use it with my DHD and they are not sure because of compatibility with Sense ;(
Was thinking about getting one of these but this video confirms what i thought the experience would be like, i think for the most part it's going to be useless, the guy in the video spent 90% of it looking at the screen on the phone to see where he is poking the touch screen
streaming works, i seen it work at a demo. Here
@shan The guy, it's me
It's true for games it's not a miracle but when you are lot of people to see a movie or other things (documents, pictures...) it could be so greatful
PS: I have added a new video :

Hey, ive got one question. This HTC Media thing, ist it connected via Ad Hoc Wifi or is it (or MUST it) be built in into your home wifi?
Why this question?
Because my Wifi Signal is very weak at home and therefore the Signals are weak as well. But with an Ad Hoc Connection only between the HTC Phone and the HTC Media thing (that connects to the TV..) you can get a good connection. BUT when your connect to the ad hoc WiFi (to your HTC Media Thing) are you able to surf via Wlan? Or do you have to use 3G?

Just to inform everyone so you don't make the same mistake that I did. The HTC Media LINK and the HTC Media Link HD are very different. The mirroring will NOT work on the HTC Media Link....is works ONLY on the HTC Media Link HD.
It's very ambiguous in all posting and documentation but again I am speaking from experience. The standard HTC Media Link will not mirror the One X. it can only act as a DNLA device.

just look for the game you want and click one of the sopcast links and it will open the app and stream.
note. you will need a good connection to stream high bitrate streams.

Does anyone know of an app that will play media from a network share? Ive tried Diceplayer and it doesnt seem to support mkvs... If I can find an app that will stream media off my local shares, this will finally be my "one box to rule them all" as it supports all the services Im interested in, I just want to be able to stream my local media. I DONT want to use Plex or XBMC.. I have a Plex server running and it runs great however I have a catch all folder where downloaded stuff goes before I move it into whatever directory its going to live in and thats the content I want to be able to play.
Anyone got any suggestions?

Try archos media player. I haven't tried it yet but it supports SMB. If you come across anything better, let me know
Well, its not an all in one solution, but...
Install VLC for Android and ES file explorer.
In ES file explorer when you try and open an MKV it will ask what app you want to use. tell it VLC and you are in.
The bad news is that the beta of VLC does not appear to support any controls on the Fire remote. It will take
"mouse" command from the cheap MCE remote that people are using as an InfraRed receiver.
Is there a reason XBMC is out? It can be setup to just show your movies and shows without doing any scraping or anything other then just letting you get to your network shares and play it.
I haven't had the greatest luck with XBMC. Ive set it up on numerous devices and its probably that I just end up getting frustrated with it. I ran it naively back in my original Xbox but now I just cant seem to get a handle on seeing it up to my liking. Plex has been great but I don't think my server has enough Wheaties to handle maybe more than 2 streams which is why I've been looking for something to just stream content across the network.

You should try Vimu Player. You won't even have to sideload it is in the fire tv store.
I haven't tried it on the fire tv but I used to use it a lot on my Logitech Revue Google Tv. It doesn't have all the features of xbmc or plex but it did a great job streaming video from my NAS.

Ill give it a shot. I have Plex set up and it works great for me. But I have kids and they want to stream stuff too and Im concerned that my media server isnt going to have the Wheaties to stream that much stuff so the option of being able to play directly from the share is what Im after. My Plex server is an Athlon Phenom II X3 with 16GB of RAM.. really doesnt do anything but run Plex, SabNZB and PlayOn..
Thanks for the heads up!
I use MX Player and Skifta on my android devices to access my DLNA server. So you can give MX Player a try it handles mkvs perfectly fine.
Vimu looks like it has a lot of potential but sadly most of my MKV files dont have sound and I cant really find any settings to change for that. Im going to give MX Player a shot now.. I dont know if thats DLNA only but if it is, thats not what Im looking for. I just want to be able to stream without transcoding on the server side.
MX Player isn't DLNA only it can handle other network streams just fine as long as you know what they are.
DLNA is just happens to be how I push my media files around the house to my devices.
Yea.. I looked at it and couldnt find a way to browse to shares... Im using a Mede8r for playing from network shares right now.. Im so close to being able to ditch everything except the FireTV.. if I could find a good network player that just plays, I could get rid of all my other boxes. I really want the "one box to rule them all" thing......

I had issues with ES working with the Amazon remote. Are you using an external keyboard/mouse to control it?
Personally I do not have a Fire TV. Just trying to help out is all.
A keyboard and mouse should work fine. Even an air mouse should be ok as well if you want to go that route.
I'm really surprised that Qloud Media doesn't get more attention. You install it as a server on either Windows or Mac, point it at your media and that's it.
Run the client on Android, iOS or Windows devices, plug in the server PIN and you're off. Done and done.
The video is transcoded on the fly, so streaming over the internet results in a lower-quality image at times, but it's certainly watchable.
The GUI isn't fancy, but quite functional. The server end has almost no bells and whistles. You could think of it as Plex-ultra-lite, so there's no overhead processing going on. The server exists only to serve media and that's all. No indexing of your collection, no downloading cover images, etc. It just streams media from whatever source you choose and I haven't had any problems streaming anything in my collection, even .mkv files encoded with AC3 audio that the Chromecast won't touch.
I just loaded the client up to my new FTV last night and again, it works perfectly.
The only minor drawback is that the aspect ratio is a bit weird when viewed on the FTV. It's not perfectly 16:9 but more like 15:9, so the image is a bit squished in from the sides. You don't really notice it after a few minutes though.
Im surprised it's 6 months later and there is still no easy way of playin network shared files, say from a NAS device with a media server, on a Fire TV without having to sideload an app. If I'm wrong please correct me. I did try ViMu but it couldn't play any of my files (mostly MP4s) - everyone said it was unable to play. Currently I use an XBox 360 to browse/watch videos, which I have fairly organized into folders. Why is this so difficult? My Sony TV has a player but it doesn't support folders so its hundreds of videos just in alphabetical order by filename which isn't ideal- plus you can only read the first few characters of the file name without looking at a detailed view so no way to tell what specific file you're looking at if they all start with the same word.
Yes I tried XMBC but it's way overkill, I don't need or want custom artwork per file, it crashes, and it's also not something I can put in the regular fite tv menu. Also XMBC doesn't play 720p content full screen for some reason.
Has anyone had better luck?
Edit ---------------------------
Well after some more trial and error I ended up using Llama to auto start XBMC in place of some other random app so I basically have XMBC on my main Fire TV screen. I also deleted all XBMC data and didn't run any file scrapers this time, and only access files via the Windows Network Share, so it is a much cleaner looking interface like I wanted. Finally the screen size issue was actually the entire Fire TV screen size which I had to enlarge in the Fire TV Display settings. Even maxed out it doesn't 100% fill the screen but it's much closer, I can live with it. Although I didn't bring it up I was also having an issue with the time display I was blaming on XMBC but was again the Fire TV itself was set to Pacific time- you'd think Amazon would have set the timezone right.
Anyway I feel it's much than it was earlier- still occasional crashes on XBMC but not too bad. Just wish I didn't was a few dollars downloading paid apps that didn't work as I thought they were supposed to.
If XBMC is crashing, consider trying SPMC (fork of XBMC). Its available in the Amazon app store (but for the Stick it must be side loaded).
I'm using it on my FTV Stick, and its been solid. No crashes or hangs.
Does anyone know why my MX Player stop playing on my one box it's saying cannot play link it's on my firestick on TV
