Fring and Talkonaut (voip) problem with 6.5 - Touch CDMA Windows Mobile ROM Development

Hi,
I have flashed to NFSFANS 6.5 and I am having problems with VOIP s/w like fring (www.fring.com) and Talkonaut (www.talkonaut.com).
For google talk when I make a call or receive a call I can hear the other person but I cant speak. The mic is not enabled? Is there any registry setting to enable this?
Can anyone try and let me know?
I am on Sprint.
Thanks,
Apurv.

I am having the same issue, but planning on try this out.

fring on my cingular 8525 with skype

I use skype to call my people, but the reception is not clear and I can hear echos when I call outside U.S. Now, I just downloaded fring (http://www.fring.com/) on my phone and it sounds way much better than using skype itself.
1. The voice does not come out of the speaker.
2. Your contacts are automatically transfered to your fring.
3. If you have skype out, before calling it gives you the choice to select through your regular phone minutes or skype out.
4. I tried calling skype to skype and skype to phone, the signal has improved.
5. You can go mobile with skype, google talk, MSN, and SIP.
Let me know your reviews.
Thanks
I have no problems at all with international calls on Skype. I looked at fring, but since they want me to give them my Skype username and password I won't be trying it out.
metcole : i think you have it to dial GSM... that's why it's coming out from your phone and not speaker. Try turning on Flight mode... it won't call.
my skypeout seems not to work ... Just hangs up everytime I dial.
Fring test call was stuttering and worst than my skype.

Are you using the latest version? If so there's your problem... no voice support. You need to go back and download the previous beta version which supports voice calls on a Hermes.

EDIT... my computer was stuck and now I've posted 3 replies. My apologies...
Vmirage,
I use my skype out, because before you make your phone call it gives you the choice to use either your GSM or skype out. I checked my minutes and they've not been used, but lately it's slowering ans crashing my system, so I removed it. I hope they improve it soon.
Thanks!

Why doesn't Voice Command 1.6 work with WM6?

I just upgraded my Dash with the new WM6 ROM and the Voice Command does not announce incoming calls. It does announce incoming messages. When I had the T-mobile WM6 installed, it was working fine.
Does anyone know what the problem is?

Not sure why you are not getting announcements, but Voice Command is in the T-Mobile WM6 ROM and doesn't need to be installed. Your phone was probably using the ROM version at the time.
I know the T-mobile rom has it and it works fine but it does not work with the new htc wm6 rom. Messages are announced but not the calls.
Does anyone else have the same problem?
Yes, I have the same problem with the O2 WM6 ROM (xda Orbit) and Voice Command 1.6. (Voice Command is not included in this ROM). Messages are announced, calls not. It seems a generally problem. Many users in the ppc-welt forum report this issue with voice command and WM6.
I have the same problem with a s621 running WM6. I believe it is a pretty well know bug.
Voice Command announce Call fix?
Has anyone found a fix for the WM6 bug that prevents Voice Command 1.6 from announcing incoming calls over device or bluetooth. Microsoft seems clueless--even though the issue has been around for months. The T-Mobile WM6 ROM includes Voice Command, fixed it, and it announces calls over BT, so it can be done. But Voice Command installed on the HTC and Rogers ROMS (not included in the ROMS) just won't announce calls.
I really miss not having to fumble for the phone to see who is calling.

Yes, I can confirm build 19209 does NOT announce incoming calls. Has anyone tried a diff build that works?
Hi, did you check the relevant boxes (i.e. "phone" in the voice command settings to voice enable them?
On another note, does version 1.621725 support voice dialing and voice activation of apps? Somehow I'm not able to map a button to activate voice command's listening function. Any ideas?

yes and yes.
settings->buttons Button 1 (Hold) -> Voice Command.
has anyone ever tried 1.6.21728 or 1.6.21812?
With my TyTn2, I remember certain ROMs would not work with certain builds of VC. So maybe we can list here the TP2 ROMs and VC builds that we've tried and failed so others can pick up until finally someone gets a combination that's 100% working.
I'll start:
ROM: 1.19.707.2 (51489) WWE, VC 1.6.19209 = no incoming call announcement
I'll continue
ROM 1.19.401.0
MSVC 1.6.19209
I installed a newer version of Voice Command (1.6.21725) and did this little reg change:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=3735744&postcount=14
I think it should work with 1.6.19209
Now I have incoming call anouncement (quite loud). BUT the ringer is very soft and the announcement stops after 3 times WITH the ringer very soft. So, you may miss a call.
Anyone knows how to shut off the incoming call announce DURING a call? It is very annoying if you have call waiting and talking to someone and someone else calls you. VC would announce the caller and you can't hear the person you're talking with.
Ok. Here is one for you all. I have gone in and checked everything that applies under msvc properly. My incoming calls are announced, as well as e-mails. It will not, however, announce sms!? Anyone else have this problem? I am running Valkyrie Firestorm 4.8.23506 ROM...also msvc 1.6.19214
Any help would be appreciated.
This is all due to the new Broadcom BT drivers in recent WM6.5 builds. They are much better drivers than the old ones. There is nothing you can do to fix this. MS will need to update VC for a resolution, but since they are planning on replacing it I wouldn't hold my breath.
This is really bugging me, I am used to having VC announce calls on my Diamond. Check out post 82 at this thread:
forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=41645&page=9[/url]
It seems as though the original Pro was having the same problem in the beginning. The fix kind of worked for me. This is the last thing I need to make my phone perfect
Hi,
So I compiled all the MS voice command fixes into a thread.
And out came the MS Voice command config app. The mortscript app will back up your current settings and allow you to update them.
If you want to test any of the features posted there that are not in the release version, let me know and i will send you an update to test.

Forwarded call notification/identification

Hello,
I don't know if this is the right place for my question.
I own HTC Hermes and HTC Rhodium and since I have changed to WM devices I noticed that when I get a forwarded call from my office I cannot identify if it's forwarded or not. Searched and shearched google and xda and I can only found a pay program to do it where http://www.xtkit.com/archives/51
Has anyone tried it? Works? Is there any other solution like registry modification?
I really need to know when a call is forwarded to me.
Thanks!

What happened to my voice notification?

Anybody knows how to get it back. I used to have wm 6.1 from Tmobile and upgraded to the official WM 6.5 from Tmobile and now my phone doesn't speak. Before it would actully say my appointments out loud and also who ever is calling me. Anyone??
check your settings for ms voice commander.
If you can't find that then search on here for the cab and install it.
