Which roms contain ICR? - Touch Diamond, MDA Compact IV ROM Development

Hello,
as the title suggests, I was wondering which of the new roms contain (or are compatible with the installation of) ICR (in call recording).
Unless there is a way to make it work on the official 2.03.
Thanks in advance

I also wonder with which roms we can record calls without the known problem about the voice level of other party.

my 6.1 & 6.5 full roms have it.

sunnyin86,
for educational perpouses can you tell me why some roms are OK and some others are not compatible with ICR? Is it just a file missing, or something that needs to be configured deep in the rom?
edit:
I tried your rom and the icr does not record both partys. Just wasted 1 hour. I am looking for a rom that icr actualy works. You know, not from the mic but internally.

FWIW, you saved ME some time. I also want to get ICR working properly on my Diamond - either by install/CAB, or by a ROM with it cooked-in. Have followed the relevant threads on the matter but the solution seems still not known.

I was under the impression that it used to work on the diamond and I was wondering why the chefs do not include it. But I guess it never worked on the diamond?

Some say they've got it to work on the Diamond, but it's never been established what it needs to function properly. It's been speculated that it's in the combination of sys/xip, radio, OEM, drivers etc but no-one seems to know what exactly.

Try PDACornerIllusion. i'm not sure if it's work perfect but many peoples said it work. sorry couldn't test it since i have no diamond anymore lol

this rom is made by you right?
It will be the next rom i'll flash, but what I would be more interested in would be the knowledge (how you did it) so all roms can have this built in.

Oh, if anyone has, I can really help - found same problem. Existing dialers with 3G support are not functional on Hermes
Guys a very similar looking dialler is supporting video calls in Pays rom 3.05. Cheers.

Don't want similar, because this one in Pay's ROMs is something else, want exactly the same
In Pays ROM is that dialer standard HTC 3G dialer.

However, I tried this but on PDAVIET 19213.1.04 clean ROM and it refuses to install.
Any ideas? Am I the only one with this problem?

Unfurtunately there is difference - try to install and use and you will see
here is a fully functional version. works on any rom, just has to be installed on the device memory, no SD card.. I'm using it for 1 year, and is the best one ever made...
enjoy!
This Dialer is not supporting 3G video calls, or are u sure, that it is? I used this before and for me was not video call functional!
i think it does, but depends on the ROM, on the RADIO and on the network.. the combination of theese, can cause the dialer not to work.. it has been tested to work, yes..
hope it does for u, too

I have tried this on several ROMs and unfortunately no 3G
No, for me is 3G dialer posted few posts back is not working for me. Dialer ok, Video not
This is because the 3g dialer has to be cooked into the rom otherwise it wont work correctly. It may work, but no settings etc.
I am talking about dialer cooked directly into ROM - of course I am not installing it from CAB, because it is very consuming for speed (maybe is problem with system files, which cannot be deleted, but only overlayed.
But who cares, I am not using 3G, it was for other users, who are using my ROM, so **** it

[REQ] How to remove the vibration on boot ?

Dear all,
Does any one know if it's possible to disable the vibration on device boot ?
I would like to cook that in my ROM but unfortunately I did not find how to do it yet.
Any help would be very welcome
Laurent
I think when you boot the phone it vibrates to signal that it is working and not malfunctioning. It is nice to know that piece of crucial hardware works.
Moved you over to General as this isn't really a rom dev question.
I'm pretty sure that's a hardcoded part of the SPL, or one of the other low level software components on the device. It's like the POST on a PC, so like gimpcell said, it's good to know that everything's working. So sorry, but it's highly improbable that someone can make a ROM which won't do this.

I am sure that's the goal of the function, but everybody may have his own reason to remove that. Personally I schedule a soft reset every night while I am sleeping, with the device next to me, and I would not like to wake up from the silly vibration. I had a Blackstone before and I lived very well without the vibration

No problem, I posted it there because I am pretty sure that it can only be cooked in a ROM if it is ever possible.

I wonder if it's part of the HSPL or part of an early called stage of the ROM itself. I am not an expert but the very next screen with the radio and rom version is linked to the NK.exe which is part of the ROM.
And as I answered to gimpcell above, I have my own reason and I would cook that in my ROM if if knew where to look at
Thanks for replies.

So...now that that's been cleared up: In case you haven't found it already, the TMoUS Keyboard Fix is what you need to apply to almost any custom rom here as they're mostly-all based on world-wide English releases so not natively the same layout as T-Mo or ATT etc. versions....something like that.

have you tried any of the ROMs over on ppcgeeks.com?
most of those guys are usa based and could probably help.
To be honest, I've tried 10s of different ROMs so far and none of them actually had a problem with the keyboard of my TP2 T7373, its an unlocked EU release by the way.
Which model/version or release do you use?
I have a T-Mobile US TP2, the issue I'm talking about is punctuation on the physical keyboard not working, and the keyboard cab didn't help by the way Is anyone else having this prob? thanx

If by "punctuation" you're referring to the upper-case punctuation (and other "yellow things") accessed by the Alt key, that (the Alt key) is how the T-Mo USA keyboard fails with the WWE roms and the problem that the XDA Rhodium T-Mobile Keyboard Fix.cab is supposed to fix.
But you applied that fix -- copied the .cab to your phone and then opened/ran it and it didn't work -- the Alt key still doesn't work?
Don't mean to insult your intelligence, but did you do a soft-reset after running the .cab? That's necessary.
What custom rom are you running?
This is usually a trivial fix -- one that always works, AFAIK. If it's not working for you...maybe there're some suggestions on the TMOUS Keyboard Fix thread. Good luck.

Without bugs? No software is without bugs. With that said, there are many 'non-working' things. Read the main thread, it's got all these words that will answer this question. First 4 posts are great, after that the search feature works wonders.
Also, what happened to trying it out? This is for fun/testing, it's not meant to replace WinMo. So if that's what you're looking for (WinMo replacement) I'd look elsewhere. Like a new phone

"Bugless" is preference, IMO. Sure it runs on my Fuze as long as I stay within the guideliness from the link mentioned in the previous post. If you are looking for benchmarks, you might be better off with a device that actually comes with Android (also IMHO).
By the way what are you attempting to do with this?
Use it as my primary OS. i'm willing to sacrifice the camera for it.

There's a lot of other little quirks, I wouldn't use it as your primary OS - unless your phone isn't used as a phone of course
Most of the problems people truly have usually are related to the phone sleeping and missing calls, or rebooting in a call etc. Stuff that's mission-critical so-to-speak - I know some that use the phone completely unactivated and love Android full time. There's also some I know that have the phone activated and just don't care and use it all the time.
I'd say for most 'normal' people, it's not ready to use full time as your primary OS. But as with anything tech-related - try it for yourself! Don't let my opinion make your decision, only you will be able to tell. That's the greatest thing about this whole project, doesn't damage the phone, no need to flash anything... Try before you buy, except it's free anyways
welll I had it!
When i bought the phone (secound hand or third ) it had it installed already. It was froyo. I playd with it until it crashed! I had several runs until someday when i noticed that sounds ain't working no more. why? don't know.

[Q] Some WIFI Problems with FROYO X on Rhod210 - HTC Touch Pro 2

Hi, I noob on this of an Android Phone, I have a HTC TOUCH PRO 2, RHOD210.
I install the FROYO X 2011.01.12 and i put the kernel that have the packet than run the camera and this is OK.
My problem is that the wifi interface is not workink, i am try a lot of solutions that found in this forum, but nothing is ok for me, i change the rootfs like suggest in a forum, modify the wifi-nvram.txt and put the mac address of the wifi, i update the kernel to Latest Kernel Commit# 1253, and i have the same problem.
could someone tell me how to solve the wifi of my rhod210?
Please, I do not want to use windows mobile
How about you just run with vanilla FRX03 and then try to get fancy with it?
Let us know how that works, then we can work on updating your kernel. If you're a noob at swimming, you don't start in the deep end...

I tell you that I use from the beginning FRX03 and it worked well, at least part of the telephone, sound and GPS, but other things did not work, so I started to search the forums and trying different solutions. but I have not found a way to walk the wifi which is what most interests me, so probe, with the latest versions of the kernel etc.
Thanks, I know I'm a rookie, but I like trying to find solutions to the problems I have ....

Erm, I guess I should be more specific.
Where did you download vanilla FRX03? Also, FRX03 is Froyo, so I assume you mean that Froyo 'X' build tiad8 put together.
Also, I'm not sure what you mean "slow with this kernel" - by vanilla FRX03 build, I mean the complete bundle - not just the kernel. Plus, kernels are not tied to system images... So I'm not sure what you mean.

Well then, I guess you just can't have wifi...
Honestly, every single person either wifi "just works", or they have to do the wifi-nvram trick. I've never heard of anyone not being able to use wifi, that didn't try the wifi-nvram trick - and those people were definitely in the minority. Vast majority of people, wifi works perfectly fine for.
Please, be a little more diligent. I can't do this troubleshooting for you, I can only point you in the right direction. I need you to do some legwork, as I can't see what you're doing.

These days I've been testing my phone RHOD210 Android, after having settled about the WIFI, but I noticed a problem is that the phone is locked, I can receive a call and make a call, and thereafter ceases to operate the module telephony, change the 1214-Dirty kernel that runs the camera for the 1253 and I have the same problem, another thing I noticed is that the speakerphone does not work completely, it is telling me the microphone works but not the headphones, someone happened?

Uhm... the older kernel doesn't have the commits for speakerphone mic I would say. Once it all gets committed to GIT it will be a lot less confusing - just a lot of code that's in testing right now basically.

What kernel do you recommend for my RHOD210, the 1253 is doing that the phone will be frozen and I have to Quiaro the battery and put it again to restart the system.
Wonder that in the future will be able to remove the windows and flash the device with adro to make it natively? : D

Well, I'd recommend 1250 then I guess... Usually I recommend the newest GIT kernel, which is currently 1253.
FYI, you already can remove Windows and flash the device to run Android natively. It's just not as stable as haret, but it's getting there. Plus, it's only a partial NAND boot - only init and the zImage are actually loaded on the MTD if I'm not mistaken, everything else is on the SD card (which is still 99% of the data...)
But, if you're feeling brave and really do want to completely get rid of WinMo, NAND boot away... can't say I didn't warn ya
