Application that ANNOUNCES INCOMING CALLER ID / NAME - XPERIA X1 Themes and Apps

Hi,
Any suggestion for an application (Other Than MS Voicecomand) that ANNOUNCES INCOMING CALLER ID / NAME, that is incoming call information is announced as calls are received.
Microsoft Voice cammand certainly has this feature, however for mysterious reasons, all but this feature DOES NOT work on Xperia.
Pl. share information if you have any successful experiance with such an application.
Best regards

I'd be very much interested in such an application.

I think it would just be nice if someone could figure out how to fix MSVC on the Xperia. I love MSVC, use it a lot, but I'd love to get this feature working.

TellME
Microsofts coming product "TellME" has this feature if Im not mistaken.
Latest I heard was that its gonna be included in WM 6.5 final ver.

Nice await with anticipation

I got MSVC working with Touchx assign left key to start it works a treat

We all have got MSVC "working" (voice dialing, voice commands, reading out sms and e-mail subjects - all that works fine), but not the 'announcing incoming caller names'. Did you get that to work?

This is a known bug of MS Voice Command 6 on all HTC devices (not able to text-to-speech caller id). It will be fixed on version 7, but I don't know if one day the next version will be released. MS is now focusing on Windows Mobile 6.5 ... with new acquired TellMe product.
So let's hope they will not make Voice Command discontinued !

I used MSVC (1.6.19214) on HTC TyTN II and text-to-speech caller id worked (both on WM6.0 and the with the later WM6.1 update which f****d up GPS).

Any Roms with Voice Command in ?

Hi,
Just changed my wizard for a Herme and getting myself onto the rom flash ladder here.
I cant see any roms with voice command 6 in, are there any or is there a cab I can just run?
Also can anyone recommend what radio version to use on aN Orange UK phone, just that Im on 1.38 at the moment and the reception so far is not as good as my wizard.
Sorry one other thing how do I find the IPL / SPL on this phone andwhich ones do you recommend?#
Thanks,
Dave.
try black 3.0.1
Just to be clear, some of the ROMs have Cyberon Voice Commander. None of them have MS Voice Command (nor should they, because it would be blatant stealing).

The black Roms include cyberon voice commander as and add-on download. It does the same as VC. Vc is not included because it's is a retail product.
for IPl/SPL, Go to the Hermes upgrading thread and check out Olipro's Hard-SPL. It install the latest IPL and the best SPL.
Thanks for the info guys.
Just installed the OLi Pro so hopefully thats now up to date.
Is the Cyberon as good as Voice commander do you know?
Then its a case of working out which rom to flash.
I'm running Faria's 3.3 on my old wizard and thats great, lots of utilities etc.
Now to work out which one for the Herme, any recommendations?
Cheers,
DAve.

IMHO Cyberon VC is in no way any comparision to MS VC..
Now maybe if you have never used MS VC then you would be okay using Cyberon but again just my opinion..
Couldn't say it better... If you like MS Voice Command and want it in your rom you're gonna have to cook your own personal rom.
MS VoiceCommand does have its issues (which the smart people on this board have found workarounds to), but it is lightyears ahead of Cyberon VoiceCommander.
For me the biggest difference is the fact that with Cyberon you need to create/maintain a library of "voice tags," which not only is a PITA, but it also means you can't hand your phone to somebody else and let them use voice commands.
MSVC is definitely the way to go, and IMHO t's worth every penny... I just wish it didn't hog so much RAM!
The full Cyberon thats available actually doesn't use voice tags but its still no comparision to MS VC..
thanks again for the replies.
Not having the voicetags was what I liked about vc, also that factthat while i'm driving it reads my messages.
I say "word" to all of the people speaking for VC. It is the best 40 bucks I've spent for my phone, period.
Agreed I just love the program..
I couldn't even imagine voice tagging 20+ contacts, heck even 10+ voice tags would be a pain.
Has anyone actually used ms vc and cyberon vc? Because I have been tempted to get ms vc but $40 ..... Cyberon is free and I have never had to make a voice tag, it reads my sms and email. It is tricky at times it dose not seem to like my bland California accent... I have on more than one occasion goten very frustrated with it. It seems predictive in its ability to let me down just when I need it, or want to show off my fancy phone. Is M$ really that much better? If someone that has used the full Cyberon voice comander and voice dial could tell me what about MS VC is worth the money. Thanks
Ive had MS Voice Commander for many years and loved it. I've also put up with the pain of hacking the registry everytime I flash a ROM. But with the latest WM6 ROMS I just couldn't be bothered with all the ahstle of those tweaks to only get half of the functions - like may I never managed to get the headset to ring or announce calls and as v1.6 was initially US anyway I decided to give Cyberon a try and do you know? It's great to have something that works straight away with NO tweaks at all. I have found that the voice recognition is just as good as MS VC without creating tags. The accent took a little getting used to for me but I can live with it. It doesnt appear to play media quite as well without voice tags as you have to request just the name of the track (if it begins with 01 on the tracklisting that can be quite confusing!!!). Reading emails is a bit clumsy as it reads headers and other useless bits f info you dont want to hear.
But most of all I like Cyberon because it requires no tweaks with my headsets AND as well as fairly comparable voice recognition for contacts and dialling it ALSO allows you to tag as well if you wish so you win both ways!!!
Just my two penny's worth.
Thank you so much for that responce. I would have been very disaponted to spend that kind of money and get the same or similar functionalty.

Are you using the latest version? If so there's your problem... no voice support. You need to go back and download the previous beta version which supports voice calls on a Hermes. You need Beta version 2.2.0.20. PM if you can´t find it.

Skype is surely aware of the problem. Although they are still using pictures of skype running on TYTN on website, they have the following explanation in knowledge base. I think a guy from samsung did stg bad to someone from skype I can't think of a rational explanation for this situation. Supporting a processor in a beta release (which works smoothly) and realizing that it did actually not support that processor in the next release, Bull****.
From Sype:
"If you have a device with ARM 9 v4 Processor for example: 32bit Samsung: S3C2410, SC32442 and S3C2440, or IntelStrong ARM SA-1110, then calling is not supported by Skype for Windows Mobile in the 2.2 Gold Release. However, you will still be able to use chat to keep in touch with your contacts.
Below is a list of devices that only support chat. Note that this list is not complete as new devices are released all the time. All devices identical in construction to the ones below will support chat functionality:
• E-TEN Glofiish X500
• E-TEN InfoTouch M500
• E-TEN InfoTouch M600
• E-TEN M700
• Hewlett-Packard iPAQ rx5900 Series
• Hewlett-Packard rx4000 Series
• Hewlett-Packard iPAQ rx3700 Series
• HTC TyTN
• HTC P3600
• i-mate JASJAM
• Qtek 9600
• SPV M700
• MDA Vario II / v1605
• 8525 / M3100 / Trion
• Dopod D810
• Dopod 838
• Dopod P100
• Acer n311
• Mitac Mio P550 Digi-Walker"
Hold onto that working beta release!
The crazy thing is that it works pretty well - I've had "proper" conversations with someone from Spain (from the UK).
An explanation to why skype does not support V4
Quotation from skype forum from user Touche
"This is my 5 cents: If you look at the About dialog on the Skype for Windows Mobile 2.2, you'll notice that it says that it uses the HelloSoft voice engine. This engine does not seem to support the ARM v4 instruction set, since it crashes on all devices with that CPU. They probably use some of the v5 specific instructions in order to speed up the codec. The older versions of Skype for Windows mobile used the GIPS voice engine (also according the about dialog), which worked on almost all devices, but on the other hand was much slower than the HelloSoft engine.
Now, it seems that Skype for all other platforms has stopped using the GIPS voice engine and migrated to Skype's own one instead. That might be the reason why GIPS is no longer used in the Windows Mobile devices."

I have WM6 Black Majik on my 8525 (cingular) and I downloaded the version from the link in this thread and installed it however I am unable to make phone calls I was using 2.2.0.18 and I could make calls only on Wifi but not on 3G so I tried this one - with this one calling is grayed out completely Any ideas? Maybe I need to keep using .18 but need something to get it to work on 3G? I am able to browse the web with no probs.
PS - never mind, a reboot seems to have fixed the issue

Which WM6 ROM for VOIP/SIP

Hello guys
I'll be the first to admit this is a newbie question, but I don't have the energy to try every ROM and every SIP solution, can someone recommend a WM6 SIP solution thats working for them, ideally I want to use the built in WM6 SIP system as an additional app is just a bit clumsy.
Cheers, this information is invaluable for a lot of people I imagine, I want to go install AX3Ls but it mentions it doens't do SIP.
Thanks again
Ed
With a 30 secs search, you would have found (among others) this, for the native SIP capabiliy:

For an external, more complete and stable application, try Sjphone -> google

And even if this guy is at his first post, his question is a good question and I can not answer: I don't know any rom for trinity with a serious voip capability.

Is the VOIP support built into every build of WM6 then? You just need to install a cab and config tool to get it up and running?
I'd really like to here peoples experiences, I'm not aiming for anything to adventurous just want it to hook up to a voip service when it sees my wifi.

I'm still using fring for voip calls because with trinity and wm6 there is a problem with a driver. But some people say voip is fully functional for them.. but as to me they don't really use it.
Voip support in built into wm6, but OEM have to provide their drivers and dopod didn't released it.

The package of dll etc. is already present on wm6. Most of the people who dont see it is because they haven't activated their explorer to see all files. But if you think it's necessary for some ROM, not the Dopod one I can confirm, the wm6VoIP.cab package is everywhere on the forum...
Nobody said his question was bad or wrong, I just said that a universal config tool and feature package was available on the forum, and findable after a quick search.
As far as which ROM is best for VoIP, I think nobody has tried the hundred of ROM available to give an objective and comprehensive answer.
As far as I am concerned, I tried VoIP on only one ROM, the dopod one. It works not too bad, but just as a complementary feature as he said himself.
Third party's sofware with all the complete package and optimisation will always works better. That's why I suggested Sjphone...
Anything wrong with me answering that?
I'm using fring as well at the moment. It's pretty cool. Works with skype too!
I've heard that Fring wasn't working on Trinity, due to mic problems.
Can you confirm that the other person can hear you well, when calling landlines with Fring?

Yeah, I see that. But all I can say is that, once installed, when I browse the windows main directory, I can find all the files listed as necessary for the native SIP feature to work.
ipdialplan.xml
dnsapi.dll
voipphonecanvas.dll
rtcdll.dll
Dopod SEA inside
But that's not the point anyway, as I said, there are something like 10 differents threads that includes the pack wm6voip.cab for those who don't have the sip files natively. And it's findable with a 30 secs search...
But u'll need also the configuration tool to set up your sip account.

It is still a beta I think but seem to work, even if it is very slow especially if you have a lot of contacts to import. But sjphone doesn't have this feature.
Both (fring and sjphone) lacks of dialplan and number rewriting rules.
I think you have installed vm6voip in your dopod, so you can find voip files. If we had a really working rtcdll.dll for trinity we shouldn't use such programs for internet telephony. If you think I'm wrong, please post your rtcdll.dll so I can check version and functions.
As to me Dopod, as a gsm carrier, didn't provide this package for customers. I hope in the future htc wwe release it will be present.

I've never said native SIP was working great on Trinity, I've just said the contrary: as the first poster of the thread stated, it can only be an alternative solution, but the third parties software (with all features AND optimizations included will always work better)
The reason is very simple:
It's not only a matter of rtcdll, it has more to do with the settings, specially the codecs one.
It is possible to fix though, but then It requires many additional tweaks, and I don't think it's worth the effort, since the third parties sofwares are there and working.
P.S.: I don't understand why you are so insistant on one file...
there are 4 of them dedicated to native SIP service. As I said, I think I had them all, before installing wm6voip.cab patches.
But the point is for any one missing one of them, or leazy to check, there are 10 wm6voip.cab on this forum to get them all installed in one click.
As I stated before: wm6voip.cab, and several SIP configuration tools are available on the forum.
After trying some of them, I like the shap's one and suggested it to the author of the thread.
But I confirm: none of them as perfect-already-ready-sound-quality
U need to tweak your codecs, according to your SIP provider requirements.

I don't think so.
For having tried both, I can confirm Fring do have number rewriting rules. It works great.
(my sip provider requires the numbers to start with 00. My contacts are recorded with + not 00.
Therefore, when I use the regular dialpad and native SIP features, it gives me an error.
But when I use Fring, it convert the numbers automatically, and and I can call through.
My only concern with Fring, was to make sure that the other person can hear me when I use the SIP features.
I don't have the confirmation. When I use the test call feature, It doesn't seem to hear me and cannot record my voice.
Since my account is not credited (big bug with the provider console on the net) I can't make sure about it.
Except if there is someone using voipbdiscount wanting to test.
Bye
I found that fring works fine. I haven't tried sip through it as yet but the fring test call worked fine (test call is just like the Skype test call).
It is pretty easy to download and test it anyway. Very easy to set up. I tried some other sip software recently and found them all far too complex to get up and running.
Thanks for the info.
I may try again and see whether or not the test-call feature can record my voice this time.
Yeah, Fring is simple to set up and it's great to have msn/skype/and sip provider in the same interface.
I strongly disagree that the Trinity problem is codec related. I tried different VOIP solutions with 4 SIP providers and NONE of them gave me reliable results.
I still hope the final HTC WM6 will include proper VOIP since I seriously doubt your "its the codec's fault"-story.

Sorry but inside the official european tytn wm6 there is no voip support.
As tytn and trin are brother I dubt voip will be supported on an official htc european rom, if any...
As to me, from past investigations, the problem is on an audio driver that can not access the system speaker, but the system modify itself after first use and I cant understand why...
I've found some device identifier in the registry under RTC, seem to work only by earpiece and locks if I try to use a bt earpiece..
Can't remember anything else, and I haven't enough time to investigate more...

Voice tags and Voice dialing

I use an Orange SPV M3100 and have recently moved from the official WM5 AKU3 ROM to Schap's WM6 ROM which is fantastic.
I am however seeming to be missing one very useful feature (especially when driving or having limited control of the device) and that's voice dialling using pre-setup voice tags.
I have a button on the left side just below the OK button that I could press and then say the person's name and it would find the voice tag and dial their number. I can't seem to find either the voice tags options in the contacts manager, nor the voice dialling button/program so that I can use the tags.
Anyone want to shed some light on this? Was it removed from WM6 officially?
Anybody looking to reimplement it?

Hi,
Do a search for Cyberon Voice Dialler and Cyberon Voice Commander. I can confirm that both of these work great on Schap's ROMS. Voice Dialler gives you, just that, voice dialling. Voice Commander gives you voice command over more features of your phone for example you can shout out digits and it will dial them and you can say "find joe bloggs" and it will find the contact details of joe bloggs. Voice commander needs a bit of voice training. Once done you can voice dial your contacts without even recording voice tags.
DTheTank
So has the feature been removed from the official WM6 image as it was a default feature of WM5 I believe...
and thanks by the way...
Most ROM cooks remove all vc software so us users can use what we want. Most carrier ROMS come with the lame voice tag software..So its nice to have the option to install what you like.
Either way the cabs are available so install what you like.
The only copies of Cyberon I can find seem to be a commercial product.
Is this correct? The one that came with the AKU3 WM5 ROM from Orange were free. :/

I think Orange, T-Mobile, etc must buy a license from Cyberon to include the software in their ROMs. So I think that, as you own an Orange M3100, you are entitled to use the Cyberon voice dialler that comes with the Orange ROMs, maybe.... I guess..
I have the AKU3 rom on my laptop can it be ripped apart and the voicedialler cab removed and installed on my schaps install?

This has already been done by cooks and the cabs are available to download. Just to a quick search of the forum to find different builds of the voice commander and voice dialler. You can also find the latest build of the voice dialler on the Black ROM homepage www.wmblack.info. Click on the 'Are there any add-ons' link.

Could you provide the sample of your code... have you tried the same in 6.1 or some other ROM/Emulator?
It may not intercept SMS, if the registration of your interceptor doesn't come early (other interceptor works before yours and block it). I mean, that tmail.exe which enumerates rules for SMS transport should apply your interceptor earlier than other ones. I dig some workaround of this: terminate tmail.exe, then unregister own interceptor and register it again. Try this, but it's not the fact.
Did you try that trick with tmail.exe? Or you just think, that this should work? I have same problem with my application, but I dont have device with wm 6.5 for testing and emulator doesnt want to cooperate.

I use this trick in my Crimson Lock anti-thieft system. And this works quite stable. I tested on WM5 and WM6.1 devices.
The code works in 6.1 and 6.5 on some devices, but not on the HCT HD2 on Vodafone
Killing off tmail.exe makes no difference.
Just tried it on the O2 Version - still the same. Switched of HTC Sense - no difference
The C++ Sample http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb158685.aspx using IMailRuleClient works fine.
Have you tested your anti-theft system on an HTC HD2?
