Apps - XPERIA X1 Themes and Apps

Anyone know any good ones??

i use xperia tweak and a trail from spb mobile shell 3.0 (considering to buy the legal stuff)
and for now, i don't know any usefull of funny apps...
hope someone will add some cool apps here

Usefull apps I use:
-spb pocket plus
-s2u2
-s2v
-total commander

Hi there,
-music id
-resco photo viewer
-resco file explorer
-spb wireless manager
-spb contact manager
and of course it always depends on personal taste, needs and usage of the device.

AEButtonPlus
Evernote

stuff in my sig

If you're not heavy on using data and prefer to avoid any fees.
Nodata is the app for you!

I just want a message notifier
All I'm looking for at the moment is a simple mail and sms notifier for the today screen, preferably a transparent one.. ZoomSMS doesn't seem to work, and I have been unable to find anything other than an entire shell or a plugin with loads of other uncustomizable addons.

Weather app?

Hi i was hoping that somebody could make a weather app that could use the weather from this site http://www.yr.no. Its a norwegian site but the weather data can be translated to english.
Alternatly is there a way to get this data into HTC Home?
btw here is a link to a page that gives the links to use for the xml file. http://www.yr.no/verdata/1.3316805
I would try SPB Traveler
http://www.spbsoftwarehouse.com/products/traveler/?en
It has the option to insert different weather sources. I haven't used the feature so I'm not sure if that site you want to use will work. Have a read in the Traveler forums though, maybe they can help:
http://www.spbclub.com/forum/viewforum.php?f=60
The app is great, very customisable and can have lots of cities on the Today screen at once, I have 8 All with the local times and weather at the same time!
Thanx will give it a go
WeatherPanel
I personally found that weather is the most configurable tool, but you can't map to a specific site, the only draw back. I've used it all through Sweden and there wasn't a city that did not work. This program is free and you can configure it to look and fit any size screen. Works great with spb mobile shell, to help save valuable screen space. You can also add different radars of your local area if you have a local website that updates them. You can even put web cams of traffic in your set up. The other draw back is you need to do some manual set up with the program, skins and Icons but is well worth it. I like it so much that I've disabled HTC Home weather. With this Skin I'm able to do all the functions without using a stylus and only a thumb....
Yeah, seconding WeatherPanel with PhatPhinger. It's absolutely incredible, I use it inside of Spb Pocket Plus (Mobile Shell is a real resource hog with a lot of borderline-worthless features) on my Titan/Mogul and I have been met with great success.

I found the same thing with memory hogging with spb mobile shell, however: once I took the spb mobile file out of startup (no more memory hogging) I just use the shell. I've also us cLaunch to launch all applications, settings and tools.
Well i could not figure out how to include a xml file i spb traveler. So my inityial question still remains. Is there anyone that could make or know of a prog that will fufill my needs?

Must have apps Productivity applications

Guys, let's start this thread
Must have apps
1. RSS- for me Freerange, its a must I've tried all of them but for my cup of tea I love this app, great customizations, internal viewing browser, its sweet !!
2. Weather - this is an easy one NRG's MiniWeather for sure no doubt, it simply the best, Kudos to NRG
3. Instant Messaging - Windows Live Messenger and JiveTalk beta, just love the natural feel of the WLM client and for the other protocols www.beejive.com is great as well, great graphics but its still in beta, I was one of their first customer with Blackberries and it does work like a charm on that platform, so I'm hoping the final Windows Mobile product is as smooth as the Blackberry.
4. Notes - the native notes app that comes on the Samsung Blackjack II, its nice and functional and it syns to Outlook 07 for those that are not on Exchange
5. Outliner - Efficasoft Outliner, its simple, small memory footprint and very reliable
6. Celetask - great Task managager
7. Todos - Oxio's Todo List 6.1, it works like a charm with a fair degree of customizations and highly reliable
8. GPS - Google Maps, Live Search, Garmin Mobile XT (gps app loaded to the miniSD, very sweet)
9. LedAlerts - it handles all the LED notification on my BJII and it also compatible with the Dash and all other smartphones, its assest to my setup
10. Browser - is there really another, in my eyes Opera Mobile 8.65 works like a charm, like it better than Opera Mini
11. Voice Notes - guys, check out the guys from WebIS, check out the app called "Note2Self", this is how it works, hit a key record your message and it will email you the voice notes via activesync to any email, so I have it sent to myself and created a folder and a rule in Exchange 2007 to receive all these notes, its a great "Getting Things Done" addin in my humble opinion, it will also let you save the notes to the memory card as well in orb or wma format, I give this app 100 stars and very cheap.
12. Backup - Spb Backup - simply 100% reliable
13. Passwords - Spb Wallet - very nice interface and customizations
14. Screen Capture by Ilium Software - small footprint and works like a charm
I hope we can share more
15. SkTools - great byte cleaner
16. SmartToolKit - Great vista lookalike taskbar at the bottom
17. Skyfire Beta - The best browser yet
18. KinomaFreePlay - Best Youtube video, I recommend you check it out. It could be downloaded from below under my signature labeled as Smartphone Programs. I recommend this to everyone...
19. PocketNester - NES Emulator Lots of Fun...
Music Player - Pocket Player
Video Player - CorePlayer with YouTube Viewer
TV & Radio - Spb Online
Calendar - Papyrus
Photo Viewer - Resco Photo Viewer
Alarm - pTravelAlarm
Backup - Spb Backup
Task Manager - acbTaskMan hold more info than Celetask
Wi-Fi Finder - WiFoFum2
Volume - SetVolume
Browser - Opera Mini & Mobile
VNC Client - MochaVNC
Notes - Vito Audio Notes
only in england does spb online (tv,radio..) count as productivity software...i gotta go there once i learn the language
hi stylez
Parlingo is also cool
Although its not an app, Screen guards or savers are great as well, so I thought I add mine
www.bestskinsever.com for me they are the best, they are coming up with BJII total body guard in two weeks, they already have a screen for the DASH which I absolutely loved

I just use reQall. Sign up for an account. Call from your mobile. They transcribe and email the results.
You can also use keywords. If you say "Buy milk" it starts a shopping list. You can add things whenever you think about it. Then when you are on your way to the store, you call tell it to send the list as an SMS.
Best of all, it's free.

Nice I just signed up, I'll setup the number as one of MYFAVES and test it out. thanks
Haha that program is awesome... Works like a charm...
1. RSS- Newsbreak - (Illiumsoft) It works the best for me. NO ADS. It does a good job with podcasts as well.
2. Weather - Showaco/Outerdepth or NRG's. See you need a sports ticker it's mandatory. NRG's is so clean but sacrifice is the key.
3. Instant Messaging - Palringo just owns with sending pics/voice messages only in beta too. It's light and quick. I only use AOL as my client cause I'm an old foggie that doesn't need 5 messaging programs. AIM Messenger mobile is now in final and works nice and has a great interface. Little more heavy.
4. Notes - I don't take notes have a photographic memory. Lies
5. Celetask - great Task managager (agreed) plus SKtools to clean up monthly.
6. GPS - Google Maps, Live Search,
Garmin Mobile XT (gps app loaded to the miniSD, very sweet) How do you use Garmin Mobile unless you have a Bluetooth adapter receiver?
9. Alerts - Been using DontForget forever...Thinking of trying a switch to LedAlerts if it removes the blinks unless to inform me of notifications.
10. Browser - Opera Mini for speed. For flash Skyfire, Opera mobile also in there.
11 Backup - Sprite - wouldn't change does the same as SpB
12. Passwords/ETC - Code Wallet Pro
13. Dashwire - your oh **** backup for basic necessities. Contacts, Photo's, Emails, Texts.
14. Pocket Player - best in music so clean and sexy...still can't get podcasts to work who cares.
15. Core Player - Never looked back but still hold on to TCPMP
16. Showaco Pocketsportscenter plugin - gotta have your sports updates.
Oh I forgot about the Showaco Pocketsportscenter plugin this program is amazing... its a mini espn for me lol
Garmin Mobile XT works with windows mobile devices that an internal gps or a bluetooth gps, it goes in an MiniSD card, I have mine loaded on a 4gb card, you basically select the regions you want, its very cool

Working together without problems?
Come on Guys....
Why are we not seeing these titles being added to the sticky topic ~ Programs/Utilites & Games ~ working on the Touch HD.
It annoys me when we have a topic purely dedicated to adding the titles you have installed on your Blackstone and I come across this.
Pass this info into the Blackstone's wiki topic...... I'll do all the work in getting it up on the wiki for you.
Beards
I personally found this thread far more useful than the Programs/Utilites & Games ~ working on the Touch HD Which is a list of all programs found to be working, not just the ones you actually use. So.. Here is a list of all the stuff I've installed so far:
Resco File Explorer
Resco Registry Editor Plugin
TomTom 7.910 (Black Theme Version with United Kingdom and Republic of Ireland 815 2024 map)
HTC HotFix for screen lag - http://www.htc.com/www/SupportDownload.aspx?p_id=179&cat=0&dl_id=448
Gyrator 2 (Awesome for screen rotation once you've set up a few extra exclusions)
Microsoft .NET CF 3.5 (needed for various things including Gyrator 2)
CorePlayer (Good video player, works for me)
L.Sylvain Manila Calculator Skin (replacement skin for the HD calculator
FInixNOver FInix_VGA_Battery_Icons (Show battery icon with a tiny percentage. Also had to install sdkcerts.cab to make this work)
HD Tweak (Awesome tweaks for the HD)
S2U2 (Slide 2 Unlock - Latest version works perfectly and I've made a custom theme for the HD, which I might upload later)
Diamond Hologram (funky but useless 3d hologram based on the G-sensor in the phone)
Diamond Ati d3d driver (needed for the hologram app, hasn't caused me any problems yet but wise take a full backup first)
Sprite Backup (great for backing up data and applications)
Sprite Terminator (track phone if stolen/lost via GPS/SMS)
PocketPuTTY (free, open source SSH client)
Efficasoft GPRS Traffic Monitor (allows you to monitor GPRS Internet data usage both graphically and numerically)
tnyynt SD TuneUP.cab (Downloaded from this forum to make your SD card access faster)
As of this post I'm running the latest available versions of everything unless otherwise stated.

AM I missing something here?
If a software title works and the poster has proven this by installing and using the title, one would then assume said poster actually uses said title.
This logic not only applies here but in the Wiki Title list as well.
I'm seeing a lot of titles in this topic which are not being filtered to the wiki.

It is interesting to see what selection (the operative word being _selection_) of software people have chosen to install on their devices. I've installed and uninstalled software not because it didn't work but because there are multiple programs which perform similar tasks and after trial and error I found the best one for me. For example, multiple Device locking programs.
In my opinion just because said poster has tried some software (and it works) does not mean they are using the software.
I just want to see what software people have chosen to install and use on their HD out of the big list of stuff which works. Which was the point of this thread, was it not?
I updated the Wiki to include:
Sprite Backup | V6.5.4 | Works perfectly
Sprite Terminator | V1.2.0 | Works perfectly
PocketPuTTY | Dev 2007-02-28 | Runs really well and in fullscreen.
Sorry I'm new to this and I thought these were already on the Wiki :s I hope I updated it correctly.

Many thanks for taking the time and effort to explain your actions. I appreciate any follow-up and info such as this is always appreciated.
My thanks also to you in adding said software titles.
It is however better when the titles come from the wiki's parent topic as that topic is often the first stage back from the wiki to the forum whereby members check.
Having material added which comes from outside the wiki's parent topic can sometimes confuse members who search back trying to find any additional information that was placed in the forum.
.... but again my thanks to you in adding said material.
I'm a big fan of the wiki and especially of this topic and have added a number of titles allready, but I wonder whether it might be an idea to add (an instruction for adding) a short description to each title instead of just saying whether or not it works (as is often the case now)?
Fring
So I found a prog. called Fring... which looks really great on the Touch HD an works perfect. It also has the advantage that it regroupes a lot of Chat Clients as MSN/ICQ/Google Talk/Twitter/Yahoo etc... it also enables Skype and other services(Facebook/gmail Notifier....). It is easy and fast to use. For example starting MSN with Fring works 10X faster then with the preinstalled MSN Client. xD
Other Installed progs:
MusicID
Gyrator 2
A.Falke Weather Database Editor
Total Commander
Comic Reader
Diamond ATI 3d Driver
Divx Player
Fring
Google Maps
Change Fonts v.01
Hotfix
HD Tweak
Advanced Config. Tool
Macromedia Flash Player ActiveX
.NET CF 3.5
PHM Reg Editor
Pocket RAR
Diamond TF3D Config
SD Tune Up
Vicsoft ClearTemp
wmIRC
PS: I only installed Freeware on my PPC. Of course there are a lot of other great and useful apps (like Resco Explorer/Photviewer or Sprite but they are shareware xD) ... The pone was actually expensive enough .. so ^^ xD
HTC TOUCH HD ROCKS !!!!! I LOVE IT
official IGO8 8.3.2.64029 with official support 800x480 screen
Shape Services Im+ 5.44.1(official support WVGA)
TT 7.910.9185 with 8.15 maps
SPB Backup
Google maps
TCPMP
Netfront 3.5
Resco Explorer and Registry
.NET CF 3.5
Andreas Falke Weather Database Editor
Resco Explorer
G-Alarm
Core Player 1.3
FInixNOver Battery Icon
Google maps with street view
Advanced Configuration Tool 3.3
SmartMovie
Flashlite
Total Commander
HD Tweak
psShutXP
SKTools
SPB Screenshot
See, here's another advantage of this thread...thanks to the short lists people display, one comes across interesting combinations, and evensingle programs which would just get lost in the humonguos master list: I was looking for something like Change Fonts v.01 !

Whats your Fav App?

I looked through 65 pages of that free app website for my new dash. lol my eyes were burning.

NRGZ Miniweather 1.2
Smarttoolkit
Sktools
Poketnester plus
TCPMP
Pocket Player 3.7
Google Maps
Opera Mini 4.2
Most of the programs I use on my Dash are emulators. Check out the link below that tells you where to go to get them.

One of my favorite apps is SmartTouch Mobile. It's a must-have for those with unlimited texting but no data plan. http://www.smarttouchmobileinc.com
It gives you access to 4Info, Amazon, Google SMS, facebook, twitter, and several other sites, but doesn't require a data plan. It uses SMS to send & retrieve the info, and displays it in a nice format. I find this VERY useful when I'm out and about. It's free, btw.
I had tried using it on WM6 when I first got my Dash. It was only semi-functional because the program wouldn't intercept the SMS like it was supposed to. On WM6.1, it works flawlessly.

some are a must have like sktools for setup and dashwire for back up, but for me my favorites have to be beejive, pocket nester, omapclock, lowlight and im growing quite fond of celetask now.
I use Wifi for Data (at my work, home and restaurants). I do not have unlimited plan. And I never felt a need to have date elsewhere.
Favorite apps.
1. Opera Mini (80% of usage, rest of the apps 20%)
2. Celetask to kill tasks.
3. WiFiFoFum2
4. Yahoo! Go (For Yahoo email, Java GMail) this is while accessing email via proxy. Else messaging (IMAP) to access yahoo and gmail.
5. TVGuide
6. VTap
7. Weather watcher
8. MDict (Wiki)
9. Boopsie (IMDB channel) (While renting old movies)

Idea for ROM (or maybe already exists?)

Hello there I am a total newbie in this whole ROM flashing business but would like to learn. After reading some posts with tutorials I'm still scared because there are no clear instructions on how to remove some annoying wm apps, namely Mobile Office, Internet Explorer, Media Player and Manila (its not annoying at all, but I have a very nice skin in Wisbar Advance that I like more, iphonish, don't flame me or ignore me now lol).
My ideal ROM would be finger friendly and fast
Remove:
Manila
Mobile Office
Notes
Calculator
Solitaire
Internet Explorer - is remove possible???
Media Player - is remove possible???
Windows Live Messenger - is remove possible???
Pictures & Videos - is remove possible???
All unnecessary sounds and pictures, leave only rudimentary ones so there is more space for later
Include:
Tweaks to make wm more finger friendly (wider scrollbars etc.), responsive and faster
HTC Album
HTC Camera
HTC Start with bigger items
HTC Task manager
HTC Calculator from Diamond 2
HTC Dialer with slide to answer and keypad block
HTC Sensor SDK for screen rotation (but only if stable)
YouTube app
FM Radio
Latest Opera with flash
Latest Acrobat Reader
Java
MP3 Trimmer
BubbleBreaker
Teeter
Wisbar Advance Desktop 2.1 (it can be added later as a cab together with skin)
Optional software on Internal Storage:
(This of course can be according anyone's wishes but I prefer the following software)
Resco Explorer with Registry Editor
Virtual Spaghetti Notepad 2
Google Maps
GPS Cycle Computer
Mobipocket Reader
CorePlayer
SoftMaker Office
Sprint Backup
Skype
Worldcard Mobile
Spb Walet
Resco Sudoku Touch
Can anybody shed some more detailed light on how to remove Manila, Office and the rest of the stuff if possible? Or maybe a pointer to a custom made ROM according the upper proposal, ahmmm I would not complain at all ))
Anyway please just give me some info I can work with, I really would not like to brick my phone in the process. Experienced advice wanted
To learn how to cook a ROM, this will help.
Alternatively, I have a "Request a ROM" service here.
Thx for the reply and for the effort you are putting to us thickheads that cannot learn the basics so easily
I am basically interested in a 'half clean' ROM lol, some things removed, some not as you can see from my post above.
I see that in the ROMs usually the IE and Media Player don't get removed, is it because they cannot be removed or just nobody did it until now (hard to believe...)
Anyway, I'd be happy to donate for a custom ROM if you are interested?
