Inquiery for a Hermes Rom - 8525, TyTN, MDA Vario II, JasJam ROM Development

I'm posting this up for a friend of mine. She has a Hermes htc 8525 on T-mobile. I need to find a 6.1 Rom for her that is just bare bones. Just plain works. No flashy stuff. She wants to add on to it after the install through cabs. So just something that is tried an true, flash an go. Thank you all. Also, if someone wouldn't mind, I'm used to flashing cdma devices, The process is the same, correct? Fi someone wouldn't also mind pointing me to the Hard spl I need, pretty sure the one I have for my mogul won't work for her hermes.

hi, just check out the chef's utra-lite or naked cooked WM6.1 roms in the same section u posted u'r thread...
also, here's the hardspl & flashing info...

Flashing Question

Hi, I'm a new proud owner of an HTC Hermes (XDA Trion to be exact), I have been using a Wizard for the past year and been reading around the Wizard forum the past year as well. Basically I pretty much know the ins and outs of the Wizard (flashing,ROM cooking, modifying, tweaks, changing pagepool, etc) but I'm a newbie with the Hermes. I've done my reading and gone through mrvanx's upgrade guides so I'm pretty confident to flash my device to any of the OS out there
My question with regards to flashing is: do you need to flash to the official ROM prior to flashing a cooked rom with the hermes? With the Wizard, although not directly instructed, it is highly recommended that you do so in order to have a good base (good IPL/SPL, uncorrupted extended rom, etc). Is this also the case for the Hermes? It is not mentioned in any of the upgrading guides out there for the hermes (but it was also not directly mentioned in most of the upgrading guides over at the wizard forum, just chefs and user suggestion actually but it became a norm).
Any help would be greatly appreciated...can't wait to get my hands dirty with the hermes like i did with the wizard! thanks!

before you flash anything... flash HardSPL....
Once you have flashed it... you can do almost anything to your PDA and still be able to flash back to your Original ROM...
enjoy
Thanks walshieau, I appreciate your help and reply!

Steps before Upgrading wm6.1

Hi I have a Kaiser and I can pimp it fine, however looking briefly on the Artmeis section my friend has asked to upgrad hi windows 5 to windows 6.1.
Do I..a) just install the rom in the upgrades section i.e cube version
or..b) is there something I have to install first before doing a rom upgrade.
i.e on the kaiser I had to install Hard-SPL before upgrading, is there something similar that needs to be done..
If the above 2 steps need to be done or just one step can someone please send me a link to those relavent files....I think the title and question put accross is a worthwhile thread for newbies and they can pick it up easily if all the information is replied to in this thread.
Many thanks
A hard-uspl-like program is included in Meschle's and Toms roms. Just execute step1.bat (which is USPL), reset, then step2.bat (which is the actual flasing of the rom).
have u got a link direct to these roms please, it will be like one page read up for newbies with all the info on this thread
Meschle's Touch ROM

ROM Porting.

Call me stupid, but I have searched around ALOT on this forum for an answer to my question but have yet found any relevance to what I am looking for.
I want to start cooking my own Artemis ROM's. As far as I have read the easiest way is by using something called HyperCore kitchen. Now, I've started using this, but have found out afterwards that cooked ROM's available to download on here, cannot be extracted properly so as to be able to make one of them custom for what I want.
And as there is no official WM6.1 ROM for the Artemis, I am at a loss.
Basically, what I am asking to do, is to find out how to port a Kaiser WM6.1 official ROM so that it would be usable on the Artemis. Alternatively, perhaps find out what files are required from the Kaiser ROM to make the official WM6 Artemis ROM into WM6.1.
I hope I haven't confused you all. Any help would be greatly appreciated, maybe from bepe, tom_codon, Anja, NhatHoa? Any of you guys still about these days?
90 Views and nobody else knows anything?
This is starting to bug me now
I have looked everywhere. I have used the search, the wiki, google! I can't find any reference anywhere that explains to me how I can properly make a WM6.1 ROM for my Artemis using the required 6.1 files from a Diamond ROM.
HELP!!!!!!!
Start off with a base ROM first instead of porting. Porting can get very tricky and complicated. I'm currently in the attempt of porting a ROM (for the Hermes) and let me tell you, it's not easy. If you want to know more, i can show you what i'm doing via IM (faster) or here.

N00b-Hardspl/Radio/Rom compatible? Right idea?

hi i am new to this scene although i have been hacking devices for several years so am not a complete N00b. I just want to know if i have got the right idea here:
I follow this guide: http://modmydiamond.info/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=12&Itemid=26
With this hardspl (v1.24): http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=408621
This Radio Rom (v1.00.25.05): http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=407956
And this rom: http://www.duttythroy.net/download-area.html?task=view.download&cid=149
Is this right? Will this upgrade run smoothly with these options? Also i have not yet recieved my fone, will do in the next few days, it is an Upgrade from Orange UK. Will all this run smoothly on my fone? Or does it depend upon product versions etc of the software/hardware on my fone? Its just that i have been reading around all the info and have noticed that sometimes it does matter.
Thanks for any help,
James
once u hard-spl u can flash any radio and rom. not necessarily just those two.
make sure its hard-spl DEVELOPER edition.not SIGNED edition
Yep i know that but i think those are the recommended radio and hardspl for the dutty rom i have chosen.
Thanks.

If you just want to flash Dutty's ROM, those choices are OK and will work.
I tested/used a lot of Dutty's ROM's and I can say that they are solid and decent ROM's but not the fastest (fast enough though )
Read the WIKI
There's alot of Topics on radio rom's posted in the wiki
Peace
Mike
Maybe my experience helps:

Hi, i dont mean to sound stupid and annoy you but can a few of you tell me which are the best roms for performance/features? I have read the wikis and guides, however there are too many different roms, and the guides do not fully explain the benefits of each one.
Thanks, i was gonna go with dutty's as i thought it was the most popular?

How can I find official AT&T WM6 ROM?

How can I find official AT&T WM6 ROM?
If I flash ROM following method below is that mean I get the Official ROM right
1.HardSPL
2.official AT&T WM6 striped
Pls help me out or where is official at&t rom....
Thanks,
Well dude...
The hardSPL is one use tho... casue the SPL unlock is forever but... the stripped can be done always
and in fact is an extremely recomended step to follow... if you are sure that you already got your SPL patched... so... just perform the wm6 stripped ATT original rom before try any other rom... maybe you could have important issues if dont flash the original...
At the beginin of every thread for a rom all the chefs post a link to the stripped so its easy to find it...
Keep it up!
If you only want to use the ATTs ROM or latter flash another cooked ROMs is ok but if it is for warranty pourposes you should read the stickies of mrvanx and veyka at the beginning of this thread. There youll find the links to official ROMs and hoppefully the answer to your particular problem.
HTC Tytn
ROM: Shamanix WM6 Ultimate v2 Final
RADIO: 1.48.00.10
History: VPA Compact (HTC Magician), Jornada 720
You can find hardspl here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=296722
Download hardspl
You can find the stripped rom, and the official unstripped in my signature.
Please use Hermes WIKI and searching before opening new threads.
Peace,
Joshua
