Hi,i need help for finding a new update for my P3600.I see in the htc.com that they released new update for this model Date: 2008-09-17,but when i try to download it from the site appears Portuguese ROM .Please help me find this update(english version), and give me some advice about other English ROM versions,maybe there is a better version?!?

i think i have dopod d810, its an aus product, which make it as P3600
so i dont really need those both updates since i already got WM6 in my dopod, and besides the files are meant for P3600i device.

my WM is WM6 and want to get updates to wm6.1 or 6.5 official ver, which giving me a little shed since what i already downloaded were simply not what i looking for .. except for that clean ver. (maybe i haven't tried it)

I think there are some different ROM versions for the diamond already.
Mine is:
ROM: 1.34.831.1 WWE
Date: 5/25/08
Radio: 0.93.25.NS16
Protocol version: 52.24.25.08H
It is problematic & slow and I have already had to hard reset twice.
Are there more recent versions available ?
Latest is 1.35.xxx

Not really that it's not safe, it just won't upgrade. If you try it you get the "model ID error" and it does a soft-reset. No harm just no upgrade.

I'm new on these kind of mobile devices. I'm waiting for my touch diamond to arrive.
Question: If the rom isn't upgradeable like new firmwares and such, how is HTC suppose to solve bugs and improve the devices ? If so, what kind of upgrades does HTC provide in the future to improve it ?

It will upgrade all firmware for the same device nationality, i.e. you can upgrade a diamond-HK with latest diamond-HK ROM, or diamond-UK with latest UK ROM. You just can't (at least not yet) load an HK ROM on a UK diamond and vice versa.

Got another question, perhaps only someone that already owns a diamond can answer.. does the English version brings more T9/XT9 dictionaries installed ? I've been searching the forums and it's not clear. Thing is, i ordered the English version since PT won't be available so soon, will i have the Portuguese T9 installed ?
I'm thinking I'm in real trouble with that and from what I've read on the forums it's not easy to add new dictionaries..

Hmm yeah it is OS and SYS 19981, but however there is some very much new apps for the diamond inside it, such as incallrecord, that the blackstone has, that doesnt not work on diamond, but this has its own version along with some newer apps i've never seen on any other roms.
Sure it is a Chinese version rom. It has the 2.06 driver in it, but the xip sys sucks.
Infact, the Victor(CDMA Diamond) has newer apps, especially the Chinese rom. But I have problem with dumping it.

Anyway this rom was realesed few days ago...so maybe it has really new drivers...
Not every new Rom has new device drivers, just the smallest change realize before the compilation is signed with a new version number, but that, does not meant it is full new...!
Diamond is an older model and they doesn't expend any cent more to develope for it..!

For any body wanting to try the New driver's and thay are new 3.09
take the oemdrivers folder and delete the *.rgu replace with your current *.rgu replace oemdrivers in your kitchen with new one's
OEMXipKernel from xip into your ROM folder and cook
there's also some new packages that can be ported with ease just swapout the 0411 folders for 0409 folder
the answerphone app requires phonecanvas,oemdrivers,OEMXipKernel,mhub,
and answerphone,phonecanas *.mui's have to be translated, NOT swapedout there's no video phone with this phonecanvas But the answerphone app works No more charges to hear your messages

Bluetooth DUN is broken in this ROM.
In fact, a tried a few custom ROMs too (6.5 versions), and bluetooth DUN was broken in all of them. The only ROM I found that has working BT DUN profile is the stock 1.93.xx version.
Any of you guys happen to know any newer ROM, be it custom or stock version, that has working BT DUN?

Yes, it really lite and smooth.
You can even remove some unnecessary apps from this ROM with OSkitchen http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=628948. It is very easy.
However, the scroll of wm6.1 is ugly (no break, for example in contacts). Does anybody know how to scroll as smooth as wm6.5 (the only remarkable improvement )
