Hello, I'm a SEX1 user using Jack's full ROM.
I'm just curious, is there a blogging software for the SEX1 that acts something like Windows Live Writer? This kind of software saves a lot of trouble and also reduce your expenses on 3G services as you do not need to go to so many pages to get your blog posted up.
Thank you all so much in advance for your help.
Yes! That's a good idea, I am also looking for something like that.
ANYONE could HELP?
I was searching for a simple Blogger client to be able to add a post with a picture and some text (like on other SE phones) but there seems to be no program for this.

I have not used this myself, but you could try Xperia CellSpin 1.4.0.
Download http://xperia.handster.com/product.php?id=2976
It's kinda of my dream to find Windows MOBILE Live Writer someday.

I tried skybook and mobilizer. neither worked very well. the basics were there but they both have a long way to go. the skybook app always failed to close properly and mobilizer never seemed to open properly.
This is not really an app, but some have suggested using the facebook page for iphone. I believe it is something like iphone.facebook.com or so.
EDIT: Na, I take it back. This certainly won't help you. I just tested the iphone facebook and did not like it. It seems that it uses resolutions for the iphone and everything looks big and blurry on the HD. Besides, that was no really what you were looking for anyway.
Here you go: http://www.facebook.com/apps/application.php?id=16698519604
If you are going to use Facebook on a PDA, just use "m.facebook.com"... It is a web page obviously, but is formatted better for smaller screens...
Theres one being developed by this very site!

I'm looking for HTC software (with windows mobile 6) that seems to be like 'stocks' (popular real time stock quotes monitor available to Iphone). Anyone knows anything like that? I need to monitor Brazilian Bovespa stock market index.
Thanks.

Did you even bother searching before you made this thread? or were you hoping for someone to just hand you what you're looking for? Is not that hard and it took me about 30 seconds to find some info on your app, by just using google . Start here. http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&...or+windows+mobile&btnG=Google+Search&aq=f&oq=

Yes, I tried search, before post this thread, i've found many softwares for pocketpc, who didn't work with htc excalibur.
I'm looking for freeware stock software, who works with HTC Excalibur (Windows Mobile 6).
I think maybe anyone in this forum, already have the same issue, and can help.
That would not be the objective of this forum?
Thanks Anyway
I don't know about anyone else in the UK but I could really do with an app that allows me to search for train times.
http://www.nationalrail.co.uk just about works in Opera but it's slow to render and fiddly to have to fill in the boxes as it doesn't scale very well onto the WVGA screen. What I reckon would be great would be an app that can do the searching for you, with nice big boxes making it easier to type your start and end points.
I've searched around and not found anything out there that seems to do the job. I came across a .jar programme here (http://www.getjar.com/products/903/LiveUKTrainTimes) but It's not very user friendly and only does live departures/arrivals rather than a search of the National Rail Enquiries database.
Anyone know of anything out there that would do something like this? Or does anyone want to take a stab at developing it? I've seen the thread for the Australian train times but haven't tried it out as yet.

If you find anything, I'd also be interested.
What I've done is downloaded the timetable in pdf format and use adobe viewer to view this on the phone. Obviously there is more trainlines in the UK than there are in Ireland so this maybe wouldn't work for you. (Only 4 lines in Northern Ireland)
I would definitely use that! I love the national rail site because it lets you set favourite journeys. An app like that would be indispensable to me.
Have you tried the show directions option in google maps?
This uses the application Transit on the "Public Transport" tab and seems to work well for me in Switzerland. But, I don't know about UK - give it a go.
Have you seen this amazing application?

Looks good, I am also interested, especially since I use Chiltern, Virgin and TFL a lot. Being able to get train times in a minute on my phone would be great.

Annoyingly I don't think it does work in the UK (at least it doesn't for me). I can only use walking and driving. Mass Transit is a no-go.

Am I right in thinking this app lets you know how to get from a to b on underground systems? I'll have a look but I don't think it does the kind of thing I'm hoping for. I'd like to have an app that pulls data from the National Rail Enquiries website. Even better would be a push of any issues with 'Favourite' lines esepcially at rush-hour.
I'll have a look at that app; even a solid knowledge of the London Underground sometimes fails when meeting a friend at a pub in a random part of Town I seldom visit!

That is the dream my friend! I use a mixture of Southern, South Eastern and TFL. No so fussed about tube times; is there every such a thing as a timetable down there in reality? Certainly doesn't seem to be the case on the Northern Line coming out of London Bridge in the morning!
Use National Rail's WAP site which looks nice and big in WVGA -
http://wap.nationalrail.co.uk/
or you can text the station you're going from and too and it will tell you the next 3 train times - all the info is here:
http://www.nationalrail.co.uk/passenger_services/info_on_the_move/
Or try:
http://www.nationalrail.co.uk/mobile
It is a bit more user friendly

There must be something missing as this comes up as a Page Not Found.
Jus saw this thread.
I have uploaded a vey basic UK rail departures application the the following url:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=620076
You can see the screenshots there.
Soon there will be a new version with advanced functionality and a new interface.
Hope it helps
national rail has a mobile site
http://pda.ojp.nationalrail.co.uk/
works pretty well for me anyway
This may or may not be a stupid question and I've looked high and low for an answer but is there anywhere i can download system apps individually? Specifically Windows Live Messenger.
The ROM i have installed doesnt have it included and a .CAB of it would be beautiful.
Correct me if this isnt even possible...
THANKS!
microsoft probably has windows live messenger available for download.
EDIT: I found it, but it is so easy to find that I won't be helping you. I don't even think you searched. If XDA doesn't work, try Google.
if you don't google it your lazing it

Yeah but he said he looked up and down. What a liar.
google ppc windows messenger..
man i get loads of hits on that one!
... thanks for making me feel like an idiot but...
i dont know how there is such a flood of people calling me retarded but iv obviously googled it and found windows websites saying
"How do I get started?
MSN Messenger is a standard application for Windows Mobile-based Pocket PCs and Smartphones (versions 2002 and 2003).
To launch MSN Messenger on your device, all you need to do to get started is launch MSN Messenger from the Programs menu (a connection to the internet must be established first).
Now you are ready to add some friends and try all the different features MSN Messenger for Windows Mobile devices offers!"
that isnt exactly a download link. every other website is third party apps... which are not what i was looking for. and thus all these answers saying basically "****ing google it liar" are completely wrong. if you actually googled it yourself youd see that it isnt a solution. hence me asking here....
I'm a huge fan of the accomplishments of this community but really though... its a legit question.
If anyone genuinely has an answer thatd be greatly appreciated.
and if im seriously that blind and it is there than im sorry for my incompetence but im fairly certain that this isnt as simple as you all seem to think it is?!
......
nevermind. i am infact retarded. i had no idea that msn was bundled WITH the live service because my phone still had live on it just not messenger... i downloaded the whole bundle and now lifes great... but thanks for calling me stupid a bunch that was pleasant.... how am i suppose to know theyre bundled together?! (windows is ****ing stupid, thats why im a mac user.
lmao!

you did start the general theme in the first post.
although I can't see anyone being offensive (well okay someone did accuse you of being a liar, but hey that's positively being loving at times around here)
so, I havent found this yet, so Im posting this asking for some help. Im trying to get showaco's opera panel for bookmarks to work with the new opera mobile 10 beta 3, for smartphones. finally got the panel to show after editing the default.plg for my screen res and manually putting it into my cpr. Editted the registry to read what I wanted it to on the default panel. Unfortunately I know little to nothing about writing mortscripts. Someone posted where the bookmarks are kept in opera 10 so I changed that in the mort and where my opera 10 exe. is in it. Seems my knowledge of mortscripts are nill, Im going to assume the mort is suppose to change the first page to the first bookmark and add a page for each bookmark. Unfortunately, I get the panel up and the registry editted, I run my editted mort and it just deletes the the page in the registry so I lose the panel as well.
so does anyone wanna help with this?
edit:
so, thinking again. why stop with opera 10? lets see if we can do this with opera mini. skyfire as well.
The bookmark files are no longer clear text with Opera 10
You would need to be able to read the new format of the bookmark files
so, i guess im going to need a lil more help than just someone who can write a mort huh? lol
I am trying to tackle this..
I would be happy with just using \program files\opera mobile 10\profile\datastorage\6\dials.dat to get the favorites. the problem is since there are non ascii characters in the file I have been unable to read the file into a variable for further manipulation.
Anyone know how to either replace all non ascii characters with spaces using mortscript or any other WM utility???
THANKS!
awesome
good to know someone else is on this as well. i have little to no experience with mort or programming so, its left me limited to only finding the "miracle" answer. after raidzero's post though, it did narrow my search. Ive come across a couple of sites that might help someone with more knowledge in writing something. a couple have an "expression" thats said to filter out non ascii characters. if someone is serious about this let me know and ill post the links. i do most of my searching and posting on my phone so, until we actually get something for our bookmarks that would be a fun task lol

yes yes yes please post anything you have regarding removing non ascii characters from a file!!! once that is done I am confident I could cob together a script to make a favorites panel for opera 10. :-D

Thanks for the info, the excel one seems like it might work, but doubtful. The rest are all for different languages, if I knew any C I would do it in that and make my whole panel just use native code instead of mortscript..
but I don't. so the search is still on. I know there is someone here that could make a program that just took a file and removed the non printable characters from it!
then it could be called int he mortscript and life could go on. I will check with JMZ, he knows how to do stuff like that I think.
ok, sounds good
alright. sounds like a plan. so if not "C" is there anything else you are familiar with other than mortscript? thatll help narrow my search

I do not know C, well, I can do maybe hello world. but that's about it. For something as simple as a string manipulation it can't be that hard, but you never know.
Maybe I might just download the bloodshed dev C++ IDE (free) and try my hand at it ....
edit: so bloodshed is gone
visual studio I guess, maybe my company has a license for it.
let me know
if not, mine might. also, i might be able to find one cheap. or i might even have a copy. my old man always makes me a copy of everything he buys and downloads so, I got a couple towers of cd's of software i havent even cracked open lol
