Hi I downloaded and installed the following youtube app
http://www.xperiax1.net/forum/downloads.php?do=file&id=25
and after some tweaking got it run because i needed to change language code but there is something that troubles me.
1) Then running a video two thin white bars appear one in the top and one in he left hand side of the screen. these bars are on the edge of the screen and are perpendicular. They do not appear in any of the other screen edges.
2) All he videos run extremely slow and some hold for several seconds both oh HSPDA and on Wifi connection. Is that normal?
If not how do I make then run smooth???

Hello,
I just noticed a couple of days ago that a section of my screen has become slighly unresponsive. It appears to be intermittent, and Swype in Landscape mode is primarily affected.
In landscape mode, keys m, j, and u are not responding. During shutdown as well, the power off confirmation both yes and no button locations are unresponsive.
These areas of the screen are responsive usually, except during power off confirmation and using Swype. Could this be a software issue?
Does anyone know what might be the cause, or how to fix it?
I have not yet tried any fixes, though I may just restore using a backup ROM I made shortly after I rooted my device. If that doesn't work... then :|
EDIT: This appears to have started shortly after I installed LauncherPro, or it may have also occurred since I removed all pre-loaded Google Apps to replace with the newest versions off the Market. :\
EDIT 2: Restored my ROM, m key has regained some responsiveness, other keys no good. Using Swype, the line goes near them, and then just breaks, sometimes. Other times, if I swype really fast, I can passover and include the key, but cannot swype up vertically among them. Unable to press them directly either.
Switch to Android keyboard and things seem to be ok again... fully responsive... this is weird.
EDIT 3: Crap... one row in the middle seems to be affected... somewhat. Downloaded a drawing app, and this one row doesn't want to play nice. It responds properly in most instances, yet there definitely seems to be a problem.
EDIT 4: Appears that a section of my screen is non-responsive. A whole row. Argh. When I move shortcuts, passing nearby this 'dead row' the icons jump. In swype, it acts like an invisible barrier, either I move really fast and it sorta jumps across that key, or I move really slow, and it's like my finger is lifted off the screen. Android appears to be compensating heavily for the non-responsive section and guessing my inputs. Tapping in this area still appears to be somewhat responsive, dragging or swiping across this area is producing very mix to bad results.
I need to have the touchscreen/digitizer replaced, right? The LCD panel appears to have no issue. Argh. Could it be due to the InvisibleShield I put on top?
I had a similar problem with my G2. I tried putting one of the Zagg protective covers on it and immediately afterwards the touchscreen would not respond properly. I would have dead spots on top right of screen and bottom left. At first I thought it might have been from the solution seeping into the phone, but I think I might have used too much pressure and damaged the digitizer. I ordered one earlier this week and will update you with my results.
The screen is capacitive... which means that your finger completes an ELECTRICAL CIRCUIT. If your screen protector is blocking current at all, this will manifest as a loss of sensitivity.
The second thing to understand is that you can't just touch the screen with your finger to complete the circuit, the other end of the circuit has to be completed as well. The metal ring around the screen is the other side of the circuit! You need to be touching that metal ring in order for it to work properly. Even with the phone just resting on your hand, you may not be contacting the ring and may experience a loss of sensitivity. In portrait mode, try clamping your fingers around the back of the phone to contact the ring on the far side. In landscape mode, use your index fingers to touch the top part of the ring.
If these suggestions don't help (including removing the screen protector), then you most likely have a bad digitizer. Check the ribbon wires to make sure that they haven't pulled out at all before replacing.
Just replaced my digitizer and it works great now.

I noticed a strange behavior of my wildfire, for quite some time and not always certain applications are activated by themselves (like when you click) or the type of home you show when you want to delete, or if you scroll through the call log apart from the call you made to last, in short, seems to be "possessed," what can it be?
the continuous change of rom? (I like to change often)
having put the cap thicker in the display?
is deteriorating the cell?
it sounds like a touch screen issue. how often does this happen? try installing this app. if the screen starts showing pixels without you touching it then its a digitizer issue.

I guess what you're trying to say is that the touchscreen seem to be over sensitive.
if that's the case, it also happenes to me while I use the phone rested on a table. this mostly happened to me while on froyo roms.
Or it could also because your screen protector.
try using the phone angled up a bit while on a table. It should somewhat solve it in my experience.
or it could be a touchscreen issue as heavy metal man said.
Cheers
I noticed that happens when it is half or less of battery ....
I attach picture Touch Screen Test
the top line does not work?
but does not work alone!
Hello.
i imported a nexus 7 tablet from a local market because its still not officialy available here yet. anyway everything is fine except when i want to move an icon to the right page or anything that come close to the right edge of the screen.
i tried to use a drawer app to see what is the problem, it seems when i draw a line from left to right, the line stops just before it reach the right edge of the screen. now if i only draw a vertical line on the right edge, it will work. so i am not sure what is the issue when i swipe/draw a line / move an icon from left to the right edge.
i then tried the mutli touch test program, it detects my fingers on the edge of the screen however, i find it very point of the screen is jettry ? like it shakes as if its not detecting a single pixel and detecting the one beside it.
i duno do i have a dude or they are all like that

Try the touch screen fix if your device is rooted and you know the basics of tinkering!

OK, this is going to sound strange but bear with me:
Yesterday I received the 4.16.401.13 update (I'm running 100% stock, not rooted).
Soon after updating I noticed the launcher was unresponsive when trying to scroll vertically, from screen to screen. It feels like it's in the left 1/3 - 1/4 of the screen. I'ts only when I swipe from left of the screen to the right, not the other way. If I try, the screen will respond a little and then behave like I've removed my finger from the screen.
The same thing happens in some programs, but not all: QuickPic wil exhibit the same behavior, and not scroll thru my pictures if I start with my finger on the left 1/3 - 1/4 of the screen.
Here's where it gets strange: It's not in all programs. I downloaded a drawing program, just to see if it was a digitizer problem, but there is no problem drawing on the left side of the screen when I'm drawing.
I've uploaded a video to demo the problem:
Hope it makes it clearer, otherwise ask.
(I've tried restarting the phone before posting this - no change).
Please Note: I don't know if this i related to the update, only that I noticed the problem soon after updating.
Can anyone help?
Hey, I've looked in many places. My Dad has my old UK HTC M8 phone. Prior to giving it to him I updated to the final update 6.12.401.4 (Android 6.0).
We can't seem to pull down the quick menu from the top of the screen.
When the back - home and switch shortcuts are at the top of the screen they don't work.
In settings like Wifi or Bluetooth Settings I cannot toggle it on/off in there.
The strange part is that the top of the screen or those areas of the screen respond to certain actions. Swipes to change page. Pressing to open the clock. Pressing the Search icon in settings.
When using diagnostics there's about 1cm at the top of the screen I can't paint.
I'd just really like some advice as to what I can do about this, and whether there's any option available to resolve this. It hasn't been dropped or fried.
I had the exact same problem 1 week ago - well althoug I was not very comfortable with it, I bought a new screen on Amazon and replaced the old one (additionally replaced battery).
Problem has been resolved now, and screen works just fine. (50$ screen)
I do not know about your device but try entering the recovery and see if the touchscreen works there - if it works, you just have to do a factory reset instead of doing a full screen replacement.
I initially followed the iFixIt guide but I could not remove the headphone jack, therefore a executed a full disassembly (search on youtube, cannot post links yet; video is 19:30 min long and from Fixez.com) - just keep in mind to not throw the protective tape away and use A LOT of adhesive tape / glue when fixing the new screen.
Hope this helps! Have a nice day!
