Hey all,
During my last few trips in the car I've been using the aux input of my stereo to play music via the TF3D music tab, and it's been great. I was especially impressed when a call came through, the music paused, and upon answering it was already set in speakerphone mode with the audio coming through the stereo. Of course, the large screen also makes it very easy to choose music while driving, without diverting too much attention from the road.
Anyway, that got me in the mindset to always play in-car music in this way, which made me wonder if there was any way to make music automatically play when the audio cable is plugged in (assuming something's in the playlist or paused), and then automatically pause when said cable is removed. It would save that little bit of extra messing about at the start and end of each journey.
It seems like something that could be done through mortscript, but my attempts at searching have come up empty and I'm not skilled enough to write something myself.
Has anybody ever got this working, or is willing to try writing a mortscript to do it?
Much thanks in advance!
Max
S2P does this, it has settings that you can configure accordingly for it.

Where in S2P is a setting to enable this???
It's in S2U2 option..
There is a part for S2P 4 lines about it !
Well that explains why I couldn't get it to work just now. I'll download S2U2 too then. Thanks again.
No problem

hmm ok..
are there more options I should know about ?
I thought S2U drains the battery ... but maybe you can convince me
S2u2 works great. I wouldn't worry about the battery drain it is minimal. The settings to work with S2P are near the bottom. Also S2U2 is constantly being updated. You should check it out, since ver 1.52 it has gotten really nice with animations and a very nice notifications.

Have had a TMO TP2 for about a month now, using the stock TMO rom, at least for now until the WinMo 6.5 stuff settles down a bit and I can make a good ROM choice.
The problem: Listening to streaming audio from the net (either over WiFi or mobile network, no difference) using either the wired or BT headset (no difference in behavior) on battery power. The phone will go to sleep and interupt the audio after the normal sleep timer expires. Only solution I have found is to keep touching the screen or other activity to keep the phone "awake", quite irritating. All other media feature operate as expected.
I use primarily Windows Media Player or Kinoma Play for the audio streaming. I have not tried to duplicate using local media files or the TF3D audio app since I don't store local media files on the phone. (have other devices and services for that, MS realease Zune software for WinMo for goodness sake!)
I used my previous WinMo phones like this with no problem (TMO Wing and MDA with various factory and cooked ROMS) with no issue like this. There seems to be a registry setting or some other tweak missing that tells the phone not to sleep when media is actively being played but I don't know where to find that setting.
Yeah, I could switch to a cooked ROM but that seems to be a "nuke it from orbit" solution when a simple "surgical strike" could do the trick.
Ideas anyone?
Have you installed the S2U2 sliding lock app?
http://www.conduits.com/products/player/
I'm having this exact same problem & have been trying to find the registry key for several weeks. I'm also assuming it's a simple registry entry as my previous Palm Treo 700wx never shut off when streaming music no matter what application I used. Now with the Touch Pro 2 it shuts off based on the control panel power settings even while streaming music. I know I can set the power option to never sleep, but if I do that my battery would drain much quicker. Also lots of times I'll forget to turn that option back on once I'm done streaming & it's very inconvenient. I'm currently using TCPMP to get around this problem, but would like to find a solution so it's not application specific.
did anyone figure this one out?
Regedit the following dword value:
Code:
HKLM\System\CurrentControlSet\Control\Power\BattPowerOff
Set it to 0 and soft-reset.
I have the same problem with S2U2 installed. The reg setting is there and i set S2U2 not to kill the power when locking.
Try this, It works with Pandora for me.

This is what the cab a few posts back actually changes.
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Control\Power\State\Unattended]

Thanks! Good to know. A very simple registry edit.
I havent used this but has anyone used this when not using a wav file and has it gone to sleep. I just use "turn the light off" cab and screen lock combo to stream.
Hi all,
is there a way to change the music player so that you can turn the screen off but the music will continue to play?
Thanks
Ryan
You mean while playing through the speakers? Because it already does that if you are using headphones.

ahhhh....that's what it is...i had this issue last night but couldn't figure out why it cut off when in the past i kept playing...thanks for the clarification...
get a program called shutxp...when u bring it up it has 3 options...turn off, soft reset, and screen off....the screen off option does exactly what u are asking for
I have the same issue. I use s2u2 as a lock application. I start the music on the speakers and then i lock the screen using s2u2 and not the power button. S2u2 will turn off the screen after 10 seconds and the music keeps playing. I set up s2u2 in such a way that it doesn't kill the power when the screen is off.

Yeah, it was confusing for me too. I couldn't figure out what has happening until I read a post on XDA. Don't really see a reason why the behavior would be different for speakers versus headphones.
hey, i want to know if theres a way to swipe the zoombar left or right to change the song in htc sense music player while the screen is off and if its possible, could it skip the song no matter what program you are in at the time? i would like this since i never use the zoombar anyway, because its not really needed or used in most programs
thanks
Get the CAB for zoombarplus. That will do what you want.
it does exactly that? are you sure? i thought it just made it a d-pad
edit: nevermind, wrong app, but still im not sure about the app having these features tho, and im new to the registry
Having a d-pad will let you skip forward and backward. I'm not sure about if it will do it with the screen off. No program will let you do it if you have another app open... Obviously you can only control whatever is currently on the screen (the only thing I know that does let you control music anywhere is a headset).

Consider getting a set of Bluetooth headphones. Now only do you get the advantage of not having to deal with a cord, but nearly all bluetooth headphones have volume and track control buttons which work even when the phone screen is off.
what about a small bluetooth remote to change songs?
any recommendations for the tp2?
This might be what you're looking for. You need to plug in your headphones/speakers into the unit, but it gives you control of the music and should work with the screen off.

thats great thanx, i couldnt really find anything like what i was looking for, but this is perfect, definetely gonna check it out
edit: there are atleast 4 threads i have seen about the bt3030 saying it doesnt work with hd2, so im assuming it doesnt work with tp2 either
Hi everyone! I've just developed an app that should fix the issue of the DAC only being usable in some apps.
Now the ESS DAC/AMP can be used in any app on your phone, including Google Play Music, YouTube, Spotify, and probably many more that I haven't tested yet.
Here's the Play Store link: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.phascinate.lgv10.dacfix
It can be set to automatically turn on when the phone boots up. My goal was to make this a "set it and forget it" kind of fix. All you have to do is enable it once, and it should be fixed for good. Of course, I've only just released it so it may have some bugs. But so far it's working fine on my end.
If you have any issues or it's not working correctly, feel free to tell me here! Hope it works for you guys! I'm really loving the sound quality on this phone.
doing back up now so I can try this, very exciting news if this works
Seems like it's working in Neutron amp which has been my pain point ever since buying the phone.
Thanks!
*tested with youtube and DI.fm both seem working with the DAC with the fix
wow big deal, thanks
Tested with YouTube and XiiaLive Pro and the volume definitely changes when toggling the hifi option on and off.
It is working on Poweramp. Thanks.

Interesting... Can the developer tell us a little more about how this works? I really didn't think it would be as simple as an app like this making it work.

The concept is actually quite simple! Immediately when music starts playing, it plays some completely (and I mean completely! We don't want any background noise, do we?) silent media which tricks the phone into turning the DAC on.

In theory, it should be. Because it's set to be silent, Android should simply completely skip over the silent media. In my own testing it doesn't seem to have had any negative effect whatsoever on sound quality. Though I'd love to see the frequency output in something like Audacity if anyone wants to test it.

Alrighty. Right now I'm on my lunch break at work listening with a Brainwavz HM5. Things seem good here, but I'll test tonight with my AKG Q701.
I really only use the stock music app and TIDAL which both worked without your fix, but I'll test everything out more tonight. My only concern would be a possible negative effect with apps that already worked fine, for example a silent track playing along with the regular music making things possibly no longer bit perfect, or extra battery drain for some odd reason. I'll test sound quality with my Q701 tonight and see if I notice any extra battery drain. All I can confirm at the moment is that toggling hifi on and off definitely changed the volume with apps that it didn't before.
Good work.

Yeah, that was my concern too. But everything seems to be working fine.
Feel free to post your results with the Q701's as soon as you test them!
Good job, works as intended. Thanks.
Few suggestions: Show status of app running in background from top pull down menu. Also the ability to enable disable from there. Otherwise still 5 out 5.
man you are a genious and this is the best ever app i appreciated this year
Does this app need root permission?
Edit: nvm. Just installed and gonna test..
Thanks for the effort mate. I'll also give it a try though as a non-audiophile person, I fail to notice Hi-Fi DAC effect anyway.
for those who can distinguish the difference between DAC enabled/disabled, can you tell that's even distinguishable with the QuadBeat headphones? I'm trying with some FLAC and various music players but other than then "higher volume" I cannot notice an improvement sound wise.
I do try with the QuadBeat and Bose QC25. I also just purchased a Piston 3. Do you think it's my headphones who are not enough to make a difference?
Can you maybe recommend a song where you can clearly distinguish the performance between DAC enabled or disabled?
Amazing app, thank you very much.
Now I challenge you to check the other audio limitation of the phone.
The normal and high gain mode of the Amp depending the impedance of the headphones at the moment is completely automatic.
That's OK with IEM but there are problems with big headphones with low impedance. In those cases the normal gain mode delivers not enough power (volume) and being able to select or force the high gain mode would be a perfect solution.
At this moment the high gain mode is triggered with headphones with an Impedance over 50ohm.
Thanks anyway for this app.

Seems to be no negative effects on SQ. Not sure on any change in battery life yet. Good so far.
Fantastic! At first I thought there would be a big battery impact since there is silent media playing, but then I remembered that only happens when there is actually music playing - fantastic implementation. Hopefully there is no battery drain. Works here for Google Play Music, so thank you very much!!!
it is working great with spotify here
I do notice the clarity with dac on and off.. however i'm using free spotify so the music stream is not high quality.
I only did notice a bug not sure because of this app or not but it never happen before.
So today i plug my phone to aux in my car in the morning everything work great.
in the afternoon i plug aux again to my car and this time my 4G or 3G writing on my signal bar is gone until i restart. This never happen before i install your apps, but seems i can't repeat this bug.
Firstly, thank you for taking the time to make this app. I just tested it with Player Pro and it seems to be working (Player Pro did work before but only if you didn't install the DSP pack). I did have one question. I noticed that the EQ is not working in Player Pro. You can open the EQ, but changing any of the frequencies or selecting a preset has no effect on the audio. Does that mean that the other audio features like Replay Gain also won't work with the app installed?
Hi, Ever since I got myself a smart phone I've always had the same problem and thats even with my S9. The problem is reguardless of whatever music player I use, Using shuffle has no concideration for what has been played and what has not.
Presumably all that happens is it'll not repeat a track while playing, But once paused/closed and told to replay the shuffle list has nothing to tell not to replay so it's easy enough to be hearing the same track regardless of how many thousands of tracks are available.
What I'm looking for (fingers crossed) is someone who would be able to create or modify a music player that when using shuffle it'll remove the track once played from the playlist so no matter what happens in turning off, pausing etc it'll never snuffle to what no longer exists on the list.
If something like that has already been made I would appreciate being pointed in the right way of finding it, It certainly gets dodgy having over a thousand tracks to listen to and end up hearing the same ones played again.
Thanks in advance <3
